When I walked in it was a very quiet place but the environment looked very clean. I then saw a sign that said to fill out your order. I thought that was a cool way of ensuring everyone gets what they want. The guy came up and helped me and explained to me how I could get my sandwich. I ordered the kitchen sink but substituted the ham for chicken breast. I got the full and it was way too big. Should have stuck with the half. Sandwich was made real quick and tasted great. I sat down inside to eat and the whole dinning area looked really clean. The 2 things that I thought could have EIN proved was when I cashed out the guy who was going to make my sandwich handled my money with the same gloves he was using to cook the food. Fortunately someone else made my sandwich and I saw her put in new gloves. In not sure if he changed them or not but when he left the register I didn't see him try to take them off as walked away. That grossed me out. The other thing was when I walked in and left I was watched but never greeted. That little extra welcome or hello could make customers feel seen and valued walking in to eat and leaving. Overall the sandwich was delicious! read more

The Last Bite of Leger's I have been chasing the taste of Leger's since the early '90s, back when Thanksgiving in Park City meant more than family gatherings and snowfall, it meant a sandwich, made by the hands of artisans who understood bread and filling the way poets understand words. That first bite became a tradition so deeply rooted in my soul that no holiday felt complete without it. Over the years following, I was young, hungry, and willing to chase perfection. I remember the madness of my lunch breaks in Orem, when reason would tell me to stay close to work, yet my heart, my stomach, and some stubborn, invisible string would pull me across mountain roads to Park City, straight to Leger's, just to hold a Kitchen Sink on a Leger's Roll in my hands. The drive was long, the hours precious, but the reward... oh, the reward was worth the madness. Leger's made me a "sandwich guy." Not just a person who eats sandwiches, nay, a believer. A disciple. And over the years, I watched their empire grow from that humble haven off Kearns Boulevard to multiple locations in Park City, then into Salt Lake and Heber. I still remember talking with Tony Leger himself about the dream of opening my own franchise. I imagined myself carrying the torch forward, feeding the world one perfectly built sandwich at a time. When they opened those new shops, I was elated, but the original location, the OG, was my cathedral. Every Thanksgiving, I would march into that place and leave with an obscene number of sandwiches, the kind of bounty that made family members shake their heads and strangers envy our table. But empires, like sandwiches, have a shelf life. One by one, the additional locations shuttered. And then... the OG closed. I felt the floor shift beneath me. Still, hope lived in the form of their Kimball Junction spot, and I kept the faith. The sandwiches weren't as fresh, the energy felt dimmer, but in 2012 I still drove out there, still handed over my money to the best sandwich shop I knew. And then... the unthinkable. It closed. Gone. But wait, a glimmer. A location in North Salt Lake. For three more years, I drove the long stretch just to get that same sandwich I'd been eating for decades. The first two times, the new owners made them just right, and I felt the old magic. The smell of that roll, the heft of the thing in my hands, the messy glory of the first bite, it was all there. And then came the day. The one that would end it all. I called in my order - ten Kitchen Sinks on Leger's Rolls - my chest swelling with anticipation. An hour later, I arrived. They handed me my order, and I knew instantly something was wrong. They were small. Thin. Wet. I tore into one, hoping I was wrong , but my heart knew before my eyes and mouth confirmed it. No Leger's rolls. ("discontinued by the bakery") The sandwiches were half the size, yet somehow a buck and a half more than before. The bread that made Leger's Leger's was gone forever. And the taste...the very soul... was wrong. Unrecognizable. I stood there with the box in my hands, staring at this betrayal, and I actually cried. I know how it sounds... crying over a sandwich. But when something has been part of your life for decades, a constant, a tradition, a comfort, its loss feels bigger than food. It feels like someone took a piece of you. Leger's wasn't just a sandwich shop. It was a marker of time in my life, a flavor stitched into the fabric of my happiest memories. Now it's gone. I had a meeting in the area and I have always wanted to stop here, as I have a fondness for a good deli sandwich, so I pooped in for an early lunch. The staff was very friendly and helpful as I ordered. They had not yet prepared several of the things I wanted, but that is not the end of the world. I ordered a kitchen sink that appears to be their main attraction. It is a little bit smaller than a Groves sandwich (I compare all deli's to them as they are the golden standard), but they are still a big sandwich and more that you should probably eat in a single meal. I also got a macadamia nut cookie and left it in the sun in my car on the drive home so it was nice and warm when I ate it. Very good portions and quality overall. The service was great. I was easily able to call in my order and they had it ready for me when I arrived! The workers were friendly, fast, and kind! What more could you want! I thought the sandwich was fine. I really enjoyed the turkey and cheese and most of the toppings. Unfortunately, the avocado is actually guacamole and I think that is an important distinction. Additionally, the bread was pretty dry. I had to peel off the crust because it had no flavor and was almost crunchy. I will definitely be going back, but I really hope the bread is more fresh next time. read more

This place is on the same block as my office so I decided to try it out. As a Philly native I am always on the look out for a new sandwich place. The ladies were very friendly and quickly made up my sandwich. You can tell they are used to regulars but were still happy to help me with the process and let me know about what they specialize it and what is great. I wanted to LOVE the sandwich but it is just a good sandwhich. My main complaint is that the Diet coke was WAY off. If you are looking for a fresh good sandwich this is the place but it isn't significatly differennt than making a sandwich at home and bringing it to the office. read more

Not only are the sandwiches some of there best you will ever have, their ownership and staff are great people! We bring in lunch for our company frequently and Leger's always does a great job, the food is high quality and the service is always perfect. The sandwiches are good here, but IMO, a little overpriced. Decent ingredients..tasty sandwiches. The "Kitchen Sink" sandwich is good, but it's not that cheap. $5 for a half a sandwich. Zero ambiance, very typical to NSL lunch institutions. They make sandwiches that are an upgrade from Subway, however, expect to pay $9 for drink and sandwich and chips. The place empty and the staff still hasn't cleaned anything. If I would have went to the restroom first before I ordered and paid I would have left. Very basic concept. No frills, no fancy no bells and whistles (regarding the restaurant itself). However, the food comes out fresh and tasty. After ordering, 30 people literally followed me in. Support local! I miss the old location, it had a certain charm to it. That being said, Leger's serves up a simple, filling sandwich that is fresh and made with care. We always opt to build our own sandwich. I love the vegetable selection, esp the sprouts and avocado. I also love the fact that they offer miracle whip as a condiment. Last time I checked, the bread they used is from Stone Ground Bakery, a local company. Don't go in expecting some crappy chain sandwich, Leger's is quality, honest food. The half sandwich is plenty filling for C, while the whole is great for hungry K. Con: they serve Pepsi products and they are only open until 3pm or so. read more

Quality meats and cheeses. Fresh breads. Large portions and affordable prices. With an average appetite, the half is plenty for lunch portions. When I buy a sandwich from a deli, the assumed sandwich experts, as opposed to buying all the ingredients and compiling them myself, I expect some pizzazz. Some unique identifier that reminds me why I actually BUY sandwiches; maybe it's a special sauce or a nice combo of toasted and untoasted components. At Leger's, you get ingredients slapped on a roll and wrapped in plastic. So easy, a 5 year old can make it and 5 year olds aren't particularly renowned for their tenacity in the kitchen. Tried it again, maybe a little harsh before but it was over-sold to me before. If you're in a pinch, it's a sandwich made fresh, with what looks like store bought bread. I can't tell the food apart from Subway except their bread is from a bag baked the day before instead of Subway's fresh baked bread (if I can call hot puffs of air bread). I'm not a big subway fan either. Story has it this used to be a great place, but I have to wonder if maybe it was the only place. Sandwiches are like a Cutlers sandwich, identical. (yawn) I work nearby and drive on by daily. Sorry Mr. Leger, you need to hook people in with something great so we remember the place. All I remember is that a spatula spreader with mayo on it, wiped onto some rag the other person just used to wipe the counter. Guess there is worse things I never see in other restaurants. read more

I can walk to Leger's when I need to get out of my office for a bit, usually at 9:30 just after they open. The service is super friendly and the sandwiches are delicious. I usually go with the Kitchen Sink or Italian Hoagie. There are so many options when I try to build my own sandwich that I freeze up and order something less than. They also serve Pepsi products. Anyone that is a Mountain Dew fiend will tell you that's a quality worth return visits no matter what (why else would I eat at Panda Express so often?). They have weekly specials that vary. We ate here for the first time a few weeks ago and I had a club sandwich on a good honey wheat bread. The portions were big and the prices were reasonable. I would eat here again. read more

The sandwiches at Leger's Deli are fresh, and made to order, so expect a wait if you arrive during the lunch hour. I arrived just after 12:00 pm and as I anticipated, there were plenty of other patrons sitting in chairs waiting for their sandwiches to be made. I went up to the counter, where you fill out a slip of paper indicating your choice of meat, cheese, bread, condiments and vegetable toppings. Then that paper is placed on a long table and you agonizingly wait as your order slowly creeps to the far end of the table. Once it gets to the end, it is picked up by one of the four sandwich makers who carefully review each order and make the sandwich. Once done, it is wrapped in plastic with the intended recipient's name written on the cellophane with a sharpie. Then they call your name and you get to pay. Total time, about 30 minutes. The result was good but not amazing. But, in this location options to get a custom lunch are few so there is little room to complain. Maybe I'll be back, but not during the lunch rush. read more
