Was out on lunch with some coworkers looking to grab a quick bite for lunch in Bountfiul. Instead of the typical sandwich shop like jimmy John's or Jersey mikes we decided to try something local. Spanish is located in a shopping center just off the main road. It's surrounded by stores so be on the lookout. Thankfully there's plenty of parking as this area gets busy during lunch time. Walking in the space is open and the folks making subs are friendly. The menu is simple and they will give you all the time you need to pick out toppings. Decided to go with a classic Italian on white. They really pile it on so if you get the big size sub come hungry. They have a nice combo deal that comes with a drink, chips, and a 20oz fountain drink. Overall a great value, no frills, deli serving up fantastic sandwiches. Perfect lunch option.

After living in Davis county for 25 years, I tried Spanky's for the first time today. The Mexican style chicken soup was flavorful, with plenty of corn, red beans and tomatoes. A bargain at under $2.50. And the turkey bacon avocado sandwich I had on wheat bread was tasty too. I'm glad I stopped by as I've found a good locally owned place for lunch at a reasonable price.

As far as the soup goes. 5 stars. I got the 12oz chilli. It cost $4.60. The beans were perfectly cooked, plenty of meat, good broth, came out piping hot. If you like hot sauce, there's 20 bottles of all kinds of hot sauce at the condiment station. So if you're the type of person that only likes chilli with a specific sauce, they probably have it. I haven't tried these, but they also serve sandwiches, cookies, side snacks, fountain drinks, and ice cream. This store is run by teenagers, so expect teenage service. If you're getting a sandwich except a long wait time. They seem to work slow and lots of people waiting around. They got my soup right away though.

Nice staple for Bountiful. The staff is super friendly and sweet and they don't go cheap on the toppings. Our sandwiches are super yummy. The ice cream is yummy and love the new clean location. Not to mention I like all the different sizes of sandwiches you can pick from.

Where do I start? Location is good with lots of parking. A manager sweeping and cleaning up. Two people behind the counter. Both on their phones. UGH. Not very enthusiastic that they had a customer. Brought my granddaughters here for dinner and ice cream. A bit disappointed. Ok - A Lot disappointed. We got the special - bbq turkey sandwich. The girl who helped us was very nice but super soft spoken. Did not know how the turkey was prepared, just that it was in a crock pot. The girls liked it but it was saturated in juice.I ordered the French Dip. Only the manager knew how to make it. The girl watched to learn but the boy hung out in the back ground yawning. I'm not really sure why they had 3 employees. I hope they stay in business but at this rate..... the place was clean and inviting. The best thing they had going for them.

The people were super nice. The vibe was super chill. And, the food was good. I got a 12" cheesesteak with pepper jack.

You guys! Let me share what I did like first: We enjoyed the vibe inside, everyone felt like they knew each other and knew the staff and that's exactly what we love about Mom + Pop Shops. We ate in the morning and the light was shining pretty gnarly into the glass windows, I appreciated that they had a make shift covering that they put up to help with the amount of sun that is let in. Anything is better than nothing for sure! Also, I really liked the hashbrowns- that's where this place gets a star for me because I hateeee when breakfast/brunch places do the home style potatoes instead of these yummy shredded hashbrowns. I asked for extra crispy and I felt that they delivered. Now let's get into why I am sad to leave this review- but I have to be honest if we had a choice between this place and Penny Ann's it's going to be Penny Ann's no contest. This establishment is very small (about 8 tables) and not well kept. There is dirt, dust, and cobwebs everywhere and if the dining area is not well kept- it makes me very nervous about what it looks like where my food is being cooked. Also as a heads up- the French Toast I'm almost 100% sure is sourdough. We did not know that and there was no writing saying that was the case so it was unfortunately an unpleasant surprise. Also while I was eating I bit into this hard wire/string thing and that immediately met my last straw and unfortunately we decided to ask for the check and our family left. Unsatisfied and unsure why this restaurant had such high ratings. Super bummed- I honestly don't think we will come back until I hear that they've made improvements on the cleanliness of the establishment.

My mouth is watering as I write this overdue review. Caputo's was a must-stop for us on our way out…read moreof SLC, and I really wish we had something small and family-run like this in CA. The closest store I can think of that has such a wide selection of meats and cheeses is Eataly, but that is huge (and a chain) compared to Caputo's. Originally, I found Caputo's while looking for sandwich shops, but was very very happy when I found out they also offered charcuterie meats. We didn't end up getting any cheese bc of the drive, but did choose some fancy meats to bring home (black truffle salame & cabacero iberico), which were so delicious. As for the sandwiches, I went with The Caputo while my husband went with the Old School (alas I forgot to take a photo before he devoured it). The staff were efficient and our sandwiches were ready pretty quickly, even with a small lunch rush line. When I say The Caputo was one of the best Italian sandwiches I've ever had, I mean it. The veggies were delightfully fresh, the meats were aplenty, and the olive oil + balsamic was perfect without making the bread soggy. My husband also raved about his sandwich might I add. The staff were friendly, and there is a small seating area should you wish to enjoy your sandwiches next door. We also browsed around the market area and picked up some truffles and pasta flour so I could try my hand at making homemade pasta. There was so much to look at, it was like a treasure trove, but we had to be conscious of what we truly wanted to bring home vs what caught our eyes in the moment. Caputo's will definitely be one of our first stops the next time we visit SLC!

Ever since Tony died this Deli sandwich shop has been on the decline. I doubt I will ever come…read morehere again. The sandwiches are smaller, more expensive , less variety and the service was SLOW. It was 11:30 am and no lines, about 10 patrons in the whole place. Shocked to see no heavy inch traffic . I had a serving of tuna salad ($9) which was ok and $5 cheaper than a sandwich ($13). Hubby had half a Caputo Sandwich. Fountain drinks were $6!!!! There are no deli salads anymore in the sandwich shop nor in the grocery store section. All the grocery has is imported jars , hard pasta and meats. There is no longer any amazing smells of bread and spices like I've experienced in other I Italian delis and shops in many other cities. If you go there now instead of like in the "old days", which weren't so long ago. you might think it's ok but not anymore in my opinion. Tony used to be behind the counter running the show, fast service lots of people. It sucks now
