Staff was extremely professional and kind from start to finish. We were greeted warmly and everything felt very welcoming. They bring out complimentary bread and butter, which was a nice touch. I just wish the butter had been softer and more spreadable. The bread itself was good, but nothing extraordinary. Our food came out super fast, and the presentation was beautiful across the board -- everything looked thoughtfully plated and elevated. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate mousse cake and rocky road gelato. You can absolutely tell everything is homemade. The rocky road gelato was superb and tasted artisanal -- it had these great big chunks of almond that made it extra special. The lemonade was also clearly fresh and homemade -- more citrusy and tart than overly sweet or sugary. This is the perfect place for a cute pizza date night. The alcoholic drinks at other tables looked gorgeous as well. A few notes: it was slightly loud inside, but the chairs were super comfortable. My main critique is the menu setup. There are two separate menus -- a main menu and a pizza menu -- and you have to specifically ask for the pizza menu. Since the pizza is such a standout item, I'd recommend combining everything into one main menu and then having the separate dessert menu instead. I also thought it was odd that the calzone was listed randomly at the bottom of the pizza menu. Additionally, I couldn't find the dessert menu online, so making that more accessible would be helpful. I ordered the calzone and usually prefer when the sauce is baked inside so it's evenly dispersed in every bite, rather than having to dip it separately. I'd also suggest adding a "create your own" pizza or calzone option. Overall, I would definitely go back! read more

The atmosphere, drinks, appetizers, and most entrées at the table were great -- which makes this more disappointing. I ordered the Fettuccine Nero, and while the sauce was absolutely delicious, the dish itself was very unbalanced. It came out as what felt like two pounds of pasta with just 4 shrimp and about half a lobster tail's worth of meat ( Zero Claw Meat). For $32, that's simply not a fair seafood-to-pasta ratio. The excess pasta quickly absorbed the sauce and left the dish dry within minutes. Legno Another Italian restaurant in Estero. All the way back near the Verdana neighborhood. At first impressions the place is modern and cute. Staff are friendly and try very hard. The manager is very involved and is always making sure people are getting their food and good service. I had the pleasure of being served by Casper. Superstar for hospitality and service. The wine selection is small but good enough for the location. Great options even the House Chianti is a Rufino which is a solid choice. The food is very good Everything tasted great and the portions are very generous. My only note is that they use too much of the sauces. As you can see in my photos most dishes are almost swimming in sauce. The meats and fish were stellar. Highly recommend the fish dishes. The desserts are very good and the Tiramisu is not exactly authentic but is very good as its more of a whip cream based caked vs eegs and cheese. Decided to give this place a try as it is very close (right outside the gates) of Verdana Village. Took our golf cart to dinner. Highly recommend making reservations because we did not on a Saturday night around 5pm and by the time we were seated and enjoying drinks it was very busy by 6pm. Servers could come around a bit more as our drinks were empty for quite some time and many servers passed by except ours and they didn't spot to ask if we wanted another. The arancini was very good but you only get two pieces with the order. Hubby said his fish was excellent! I had the filet which was very tender as I like mine cooked well done. Side dishes are à la carte and I had mashed potatoes. They could have used some butter or other flavoring. Waiter forgot to bring the steak knife with dinner so I was a little through dinner before he came around again and realized and offered a steak knife. Bill was around $150 for two people (one appetizer, two entrees and 3 drinks). Place is very nice inside! Feels more upscale like Naples area and they have a nice bar area too. Had reservation at the new Legno Estero. Such a horrible experience. Walked out after 1 1/2 hour waiting for food. We obviously was not a priority! Waitress was excellent but had no control over our food being delivered. Calamari too salty, lasagna looked like a soup! Husb never got his food. We won't be back. Please give an establishment time to find their ground before you publicly shame them. There are peoples money and families behind these businesses. Ok....now my review. AMAZING. Staff, management and food. Everything was amazing! I live at The Place and was super excited to have something new, that I didn't have drive all the way to BHG for. The pasta is made fresh, the ingredients were well balanced and the drinks were strong. My only complaint is that they have their outdoor windows closed. They say it's due to flies, but we sat outside and maybe saw 1 fly. I think they're losing business keeping those shut, but what do I know. In all.....give it a try and support local, family owned businesses. We loved it! read more

To start, we ordered the Octopus,,, was raw, salty and really chewy,,,, not good,,,, for the main course, My wife ordered the Liguine with shrimps and lobster, non spicy... came out super spicy - I ordered the Veal Chop with Spicy Spaghitti Sauce, was not spicy! Attended the soft opening night. The staff were plentiful and busy and the owner was very friendly and checking in from table to table. It was pouring rain but there wasn't an empty table, since our community had been long waiting for this restaurant to open. I had the eggplant parmesan, it was very good and the portion was large enough to have leftover for dinner the next night. I would ask that they add some gluten free and/or vegetarian options to the menu. As I am both. Since the eggplant is really the only option for me on the menu it limits me from returning as much as I had imagined that I would be. It is a bit pricey but when the food and service are worth it my husband and I are willing to spend more for that meal and go regularly to that restaurant. Since this establishment is brand new we hope that they hear the constructive feedback and suggestions from customers. In my case I just would like to have a few gluten free entrees and appetizer options as well as a gluten free pizza. I would like to see them automatically put a bread basket (gluten free option as well lol) to each table upon arrival and a side pasta with entrees such as chicken parmesan. I do not recall if there were any vegetable side dishes, but if not that as well. I will definitely be coming back to try this restaurant again. read more

This was our first time here, we're foodies from NY and are very critical of restaurants that are clueless but also are sympathetic to new businesses because it's a seven day a week job owning a good restaurant. Having said that, we love eating out and I have to say, the food was exceptional! We had the clams casino which was made to a perfect temperature and the consistency was tender. I had the fettuccine nero which was squid ink pasta, lobster and shrimp. Delicious! My wife had the lobster risotto special which was also delicious! They also have an excellent wine list, full bar and a limited dessert menu. Tip: Ask for warm Italian bread if you like to dip your bread as we do, it doesn't come with your meal. Why??? I dont know. Those are the pro's. The only con is my dinner came out about 10 minutes after my wifes but that's ok, like I said, they're still getting established. My first time at the restaurant. I ordered chicken parm, but it didn't come with pasta, so I had to add it for $7 to bring the total cost to $32. It was easily the most expensive chicken parm I've ever ordered. The chicken could barely be cut with a knife. It was dry, very thin and fibrous, and flavorless. The pasta side that came with it wasn't much better and a waste of money. The service was acceptable, but I tipped well because it wasn't her fault that the food was so bad. This was clearly one of the worst meals I've ever had in a supposedly Italian restaurant, and I will not return. read more

I'm almost hesitant to give this review because we don't want to share this delightful new gem! Everything was fantastic -- The atmosphere was beautiful and cozy. Our server, Casper, gave great recommendations and was just the right amount of attentive. The food was delicious including homemade Rigatoni, wood roasted chicken wings, Chicken Parmigiana, and Fettuccine Nero. The owner, Anthony even came over to ask if we enjoyed the meal. It looks like a casual dining location but the house made pasta and high quality meats and seafood make it one of our new favorite restaurants. We lived in Naples and dined at 5th Ave offer. AMAZED! We had a dinner reservation at 7, arrived 15 min early, thankfully we found 2 chairs at the outdoor bar. Bartenders were superb and kept good company, even kept checking on our table. Our table was finally ready, and our lovely bartender took our drinks to our table. We were greeted right away by our young but professional waitress. She provided the specials, answered questions I had on some menu items and took our order right away. Being a holiday, of course place was FULL and every server/runner/bartender, even the manager was BUSY and running around helping everyone. I ordered the 'Frutti de Mare" (had another name) which was delicious and with just the right touch of spiciness (requested). My husband had the Special Spicy Rigatoni served with Chicken Milanese which was creamy and superb. Fresh pasta, cooked to perfection! compliments to the chef!
