    Slide in the hotel lobby!

Our family had a great stay here. The hotel is super convenient and worth every penny. Checkin was easy and we loved the treasure hunt in the room. Breakfast was awesome and there was no line for us since we got down there before 8am for both days. How convenient to be able to go to the hotel mid day to nap our kids and then return to the park when they wakeup. The after park events hosted by both hotels were also lots of fun. The bathroom was big and the water pressure was very good for a hotel. They quickly delivered a pack and play for our baby once requested. I love the concierge through text. My toddler LOVED the theming and his own room! He usually never sleeps through the night in his own bed at home, but at the hotel he stayed in the bunk the whole night both nights! At napped there too. Will definitely stay here again whenever we go to Legoland.

They thought of everything for kids to make it fun, family friendly, and convenient! We didn't know how many diapers a toddler can go through for our weekend getaway trip here! They have a convenient vending machine that has diapers supplies, medicine and everything that a parent might have fell short of or left behind. I was delighted about this. It saves me a trip to Target. My toddler loved the dragons in our room and his side corner room of his own where he played with the leggos that were in the room. We were impressed with the night ceiling glow in the dark stars and themed decor everywhere one went here! Outside and inside, is packed with lego themed entertainment. They have magic show and live performances throughout the day here and/or at Legoland hotel which is right across from this hotel (steps away). Breakfast was solid with service being at par, Monte Cristo sandwiches, kid friendly foods, and yogurt as the highlights. It's just right outside of the Legoland park which made the logistics to go back to the room, so easy. We had a fun time here! Everything is awesome ~ Lego!

Check in is at 4pm but we did not get our room until 5pm. At these prices, that feels unacceptable. After we brought it up, they did try to make it right by giving us a few Reserve and Ride passes which actually helped a lot the following day. The room itself was pretty magical. There is a separate kids sleeping area with bunk beds and its own TV. I have never seen anything like this before and we genuinely loved it. Unfortunately, the main bed was horrifying. I woke up with extreme back pain which was a big letdown. The walls are paper thin. Our room was the first one after the lobby and we could hear all the screaming and tantrums happening outside. That part was super irritating. Walking in to our room, the treasure chest was a nice touch. The playground was fun. We did not get to use the heated pool but it looked good. The Castle hotel felt calmer that day. The regular hotel was absolutely packed and the pool of Lego toys smelled like farts and vomit. The events felt pretty bogus and amateurish, basically just something to keep the kids busy. There is a dance party every night and outdoor movies. The dinner buffet was painful. One hundred dollars for two adults and one kid. My kid ate one chicken tender, one slice of cheese pizza, and one helping of mac and cheese. That hurt my soul like no other. By staying here, you do get early access to select rides at the theme park before general park opening which was actually pretty neat. It was still busy, with about a twenty five minute wait for the first ride, but once general admission opened that same ride jumped to over an hour and a half so this perk definitely saved us some line time. Breakfast is complimentary but you need to reserve. The food was rough. There were very limited options and barely any juice choices, which made it feel even more disappointing. Overall though, for my son, it was actually pretty magical. He loved every part of the hotel. He honestly thought this was Legoland itself and was already satisfied before we even went to the theme park the next day. As someone who loves legos, I got to let out my inner child. Adult me, however, was crying over the costs and the back pain from that bed. Emotionally as a parent, this was a solid win! Objectively as a hotel experience at this price point, there are too many serious misses. Final rating: 3.5 out of 5, rounded down.

Enjoyed the park and both of the hotels were beautiful visually, but the Castle hotel brought a terrible experience to our trip: there was someone's hair in our bathroom, and I told the manager about it, yet when we returned to the room, the hair was still there. One of the cleaning ladies was acting strangely and was laughing when we looked at her in the hallway -my husband assumed she had smoked something. It got worse at night - we could hear everything from the room next door: talking, laughing, sneezing, coughing until 1 am. The walls are so thin... Then, as a cherry on top, we could hear every door shutting in the hallway. We stayed there for 3 days and forgot what good sleep felt like.

We wanted to surprise our kids with a quick weekend get away and decided to visit Legoland and to stay at one of the hotels. Based on reviews we saw online, we opted for the Castle Hotel because it was newer & had better amenities and we're so glad we did. First off, the check-in process was great. Since you basically do it online beforehand, you just show up, get your keycards, and go to your room. It was one of the fastest check-ins we've ever had. However, I will say, before that, the parking situation isn't ideal. It really seems like they're pushing for valet as that took up most of the parking around the hotel & most of the close spots. Handicap parking was also huge, but I understand that that was probably also used for the park itself. It just felt like the self-parking area was small and far away. There was one night we met family outside of the park for dinner and when we came back, we barely got the final hotel parking spot & it was a parallel parking spot way in the far corner. I really wish they had more self-parking spots for hotel guests. The rooms themselves are nice. They're themed top down and clearly aimed towards the kids. Did I particularly love the giant castle siege painting on the wall across from our bed or the stained glass light above the headrest? No. But my kids did. And we knew that's what it was all about. Each room also comes with a lock box and via the phone app (or the tablet placed in the room to control things like the temp) you can go to the lobby, answer a few scavenger hunt questions, then return to your room to unlock the box. Inside will be a small Lego set for your kids (up to 2 depending on how many kids you register for the room). My kids loved that. I just kinda wish they had to go explore the hotel a bit more so that the whole experience lasted longer than the 5ish minutes it took my 8 year old to figure it out. I appreciated that the kids had their own separate bunk bed area with a curtain. It did give a nice little separation from kid to adult space that a lot of other hotels don't. It let my wife stay up to watch some TV without disturbing the kids while they slept. That was a great perk. The playground area was also great. Our kids loved running around and climbing on the obstacles every night and every morning. They also play movies, but my kids were too amped to sit down. They also had bingo and story time that they appreciated. The pool area looked small but fun. But it was too cold the weekend we were there so I can't speak on it that much. In all, the Castle Hotel is a great family first hotel. I really loved seeing my kids take it all in in amazement. And the place was kept clean and tidy the whole time by a staff that was friendly and understanding of all the kids running around. We've been to a few family hotels in Southern California and this is, by far, the best one we've been to. I'm sure we'll be back at some point. Maybe to experience one of the different themes they have throughout the hotel. I will say you get to go in to the park early with a hotel ticket, but it was only 45 minutes and only a few rides were open during that time. So, while nice, it wasn't a huge perk.

Staff: The team here is very nice. As a customer of this park for over 10 years, I've stayed here about 3 times over the years. Each time the staff has been nice. The most recent visit only had one disappointment which was how long it took to pre check in our bags before visiting the park. It was about 10 mins of waiting on a Saturday morning. Apparently both guys were handling luggage runs inside. Perhaps they save at least one person to help with customers waiting to pre-check their luggage. I went inside to ask if there's anybody else and I was told I needed to wait for them to come back. Anybody should be able to qualify to simply take luggage and check it in. Quality: This hotel is awesome and newer than the original next door. We opted for a character room with a birthday package. The package was $110 or so and includes a cool door banner, bag, Lego set, Lego stuffed animal, and figure with a light. Al items you take home. Value: The hotel can be expensive and it's peak times, however if you research it a bit it is reasonable. One major prick of the hotel. Is you get free breakfast buffet with your stay. There is a ton of great food options when you do this. Overall: I'm a big fan of this hotel. As I said many times before the customer service that you experience at Legoland is quite good considering that is mostly run by younger kids versus older adults. This tells me that the hiring staff does a good job of selecting employees. I've only had one bad experience, which is listed under my Legoland review.

Such a cool experience and my kids absolutely loved it! The whole place is packed with little details that make it feel special. One of our favorites was the treasure chest in the room that you have to "unlock" with clues. I also really liked that the bunk beds were in a separate room which gave the kids their own little space. The theming is spot-on and the vibe is great. I strongly recommend staying here if you're visiting the park!

The kids do love the decor, but our experience was very poor. Check out the sheets on the king bed where my husband and I could not sleep. Blood. On. The. Sheets. Customer service gave us $40 to spend in the park for this disgusting inconvenience.

We stayed at the LEGOLAND Castle Hotel in Room 104 to celebrate our daughter's birthday. We left with serious concerns about privacy, safety, and the hotel's lack of guest support -- especially for a property marketed toward families with young children. First issue: 3am noise On our first night, a hotel staff member used a leaf blower outside our room window at 3:00 A.M. After a 10-hour drive and a full day in the park, this was a brutal disruption. We tried calling the number on the key card for help and got what felt like an automated message -- no live support, no one to talk to, no follow-up. There's no functioning front desk at night. Second (and worse): Peephole privacy issue Room 104 has a low-mounted peephole "for kids" that allows clear visibility into the room from the hallway. I've posted a photo taken from the hallway through the peephole -- you can see our beds and personal belongings. We didn't discover this until checkout, meaning we were exposed the entire stay. This room is located at the very end of the entire hotel, next to an employee utility access door -- making the privacy risk even more serious. When we told staff, they said they'd "check it after we left." No apology. No accountability. We were given a late checkout and fast passes (which we couldn't fully use). That doesn't come close to addressing the loss of privacy or middle-of-the-night disruption. Photos attached: Peephole view from outside the room Placement of the peephole on the door Room exterior confirming our family stay --- Until LEGOLAND Castle Hotel fixes this and takes guest privacy and overnight safety seriously, I cannot recommend staying here -- especially not with children.

I expected a room that fits 5 people to be a little bigger. They really play you with the kids room. I would have preferred open space than what they did with it. Walking in the hallways the carpets were super stained but nothing smelled. The room was a bit musty but once the AC went on all was well. I wish we had had more space and an actual bathroom door in the room. The king bed was comfortable enough for 2 adults. The kids bed were sooooo uncomfortable. My husband had to sleep on the "third" bed and it was absolute torture. They know 3 adults can book with 2 kids and don't make it friendly. Our room was in the back of the hotel and it took forever to get there. Wish there was a door to go through from the back and not have to park in the back and walk all the way to the front of the hotel just to walk to the back again. The staff was friendly enough but honestly didn't see many of them. I recommend the experience if you have kids ages 4-8. 10yo might be pushing it.

The staff at the entry of the hotel was super helpful in providing directions to get down to the pool as one of my girlfriend's said it was a little confusing to find, but I was given a clear guide on how to get down there and got there without issue. We had our own server at the cabana who provided us with our free fruit plate and bottle of bubbly to share, and took food and drink orders. She and her coworkers checked on us pretty frequently and kept us well-stocked. The day was a little overcast and cloudy but the pool was a lovely cool temp, and the jacuzzi was in the same general area so when we got a little chilly we hopped on over. After spending some time in the adult-only pool area, we headed up to the family friendly deck and took a couple of runs down the slides, which was super fun. Around the time we were meant to clear out, our server was super sweet and let us know they would just start to pick up around us but we were welcome to stay longer if we wanted to, since there was no one coming in behind us. We continued relaxing until we were all ready to go but first we got to chatting with another staff member, Bryan, who was super rad and shared all his favorite nearby spots to eat. The staff is really so wonderful here! Very friendly and professional. Overall my first visit to the Park Hyatt Aviara was very enjoyable, and I would absolutely visit again (preferably on a hot, sunny day). Highly recommend for any and all poolside celebrations!

We needed a convenient spot near(ish) to Escondido for one night within the Hilton family of hotels…read moreand chose this Homewood Suites location over other brand hotels as we were traveling with our son and wanted to be able to have separate rooms. It's an all suites hotel so it served that need. The room itself on appearance was very nice, perhaps recently refurbished and felt clean and modern. We had a couple experiences which made it a little weird though. The rooms have motion detecting lights that you can only sort of control. The shower for example...the light turns off when you're in the shower as it doesn't sense your motion and there's no way (obvious to us) to force it to stay on. That was a bummer for the 2 of us who wanted to shower but had to do so in the dark unless we opened the shower door and waved our arm around to hopefully catch the attention of the sensor to give us another 30 seconds of light. This also happens if you're sitting on the toilet. The last thing I want to think about in that situation is having to provide additional motion so the light doesn't turn out. In the living space, a light also automatically turns on when it senses motion. Not great for having our son trying to sleep in that room and us having to move through it to leave the room or access the kitchen to have all the lights suddenly turn on around our sleeping boy. Also had a disappointing non-fitness room experience. The fitness room was no accessible because of renovations...okay bad luck in terms of timing...but they said I could go to the adjacent Hampton Inn and use their fitness room which was open 24 hours. So I did, but, unfortunately their fitness room actually isn't open 24 hours as I learned when I got there. So no fitness room and wasted time walking in the rain to the hotel next door based in the inaccurate info given by the staff. So overall disappointing and strange (especially the lights situation)...seems like they forget to dot a few Is when setting these rooms up.

I have a lower floor overlooking the pool and love to see everyone enjoying the amenities. Parking is expensive, though, at $15.00 per night. THAT is a bummer with so much parking available. Their hotel next door does not charge for parking. They have a nice breakfast and a Wednesday Happy Hour, too. Bonus is the full kitchen. I have a suite with a separate bedroom, which is great! Housekeeping is great too! Keep this hotel in mind.

Staff is always so very friendly and I appreciate the efforts Home2 Suites made to make my little monster feel special being that she was celebrating her born day. Extra hugs and thank yous to our host, Natalie. My daughter was over the moon + full of giggles when we arrived back to our room to find a new cuddly little friend fully equipped with the tv remote control, enjoying some cartoons. These are the little tidbits that make for such magical memories!!! As if the wonderful staff and clean rooms aren't enough, let me remind you that there is complimentary breakfast each and every day. You will happily fill your bellies with the typical breakfast spread: sausage, bacon, toast, bagels, fruit, and eggs. 5/5 Stars!! But we already expected that, right??! =D

Room itself looked clean and newer, and I like that the layout is bigger than a normal hotel room. Having the small kitchen with fridge, microwave, and sink makes it really convenient when traveling with kids. Bed was comfortable and the room felt modern overall. Breakfast is included which is nice, but the food itself was about a 1-2 out of 5. Selection looked okay -- eggs, potatoes, sausage, waffles -- but quality wasn't great and the waffle area was messy when we went. Still free, so it helps for families. Honestly I booked this mostly for value. Legoland Hotel was around $600-$800 for the night, and this stay was $262 on a Saturday with AAA discount, so big price difference. For families this makes a lot more sense. If I put myself as a kid, this place would actually be pretty cool -- pool, free breakfast, big room, waffle maker, space to move around. That's why I was leaning 4 stars at first. But had to drop it to 3 out of 5 because the toilet in the room was leaking, which you don't expect at this price and at a newer hotel. Little things like that matter, especially with family staying in the room. Overall 3 out of 5. Good value, family friendly, but needs better maintenance. Would still consider staying again for the price.

Ayres Hotel Vista Carlsbad exceeded all of my expectations, and it was a pleasure to stay here. We got a double queen room, and the beds were very comfortable. The room itself is your standard mid-range hotel room, but everything was clean, the shower water pressure was decent, there were plenty of device charging plugs, there's a mini fridge in the cabinet, and the bathroom sink is separate from the toilet and shower area. I don't particularly like this restroom setup, but what are you gonna do? The free breakfast is great. They have a made-to-order omelette station, with an actual person behind a counter taking orders and making your food. They also have a self-serve waffle-making station, oatmeal cups, yogurt, cereal, and a mango-infused water (fancy!). The only thing is that the coffee they offered in the dining room was trash. What you want to do is go visit the Keurig coffee maker by the front desk, which is available to guests all day. Make yourself a cup of coffee from there, and thank me later. There is indoor seating, but do yourself a favor and go out to the patio and enjoy your breakfast outdoors in the perfect Carlsbad morning air. The fitness center is open 24 hours a day, which is a relief and as it should be. There is also a laundry room, with super fast washers and dryers. Ayres Hotel is set up in the hills a bit, so there isn't anything nearby to walk to. But if you're in a pinch and need something for dinner, they make wood-fired pizzas in-house and have happy hour specials.

I specify in-person because calling them on the phone to confirm details was terrible. AI agent phone screen and then when a real person picked up, he seemed to have zero answers about the property and the amenities. In-person though, the service was fantastic. Friendly staff and guest services showing up at lightning speed left me speechless. Called down for extra slippers, and guest services showed up within 5 minutes. Asked for water as well and he returned within 2 minutes. Swear the staff must be sprinting or something. The rooms are great. We got a lagoon view, which while not as beautiful as an ocean view, was quite nice. We had a view of the freeway and a parking lot, but in the not-so-far distance, there was a nice view of the lagoon. The room. patio, and shower are all massive. Even at 100% capacity and a wedding happening during our stay, we never felt like it was too crowded. No loud noises throughout the night either.

Although it…read moresits close to the main road, the hotel feels quietly tucked into the edge of the ocean--a low, four-story retreat that opens itself to the sea. What I loved most was the room, especially the shower. It had a thoughtfully designed, thick glass door that opened easily. In most hotels, I hesitate before turning on the water, bracing for that sudden burst of heat overhead. But here, everything was arranged with care, so I could step in comfortably and enjoy the shower without that small anxiety. The details in the room made it even better--a Nespresso machine ready for a slow morning, and a proper water kettle, which always feels like a small luxury. The bed was soft and welcoming, the kind you sink into at the end of a long day. We didn't have an ocean view, but the patio had its own charm--quiet, intimate, and enough to make you pause. The best part, though, was the beach. Just a short walk down the stairs, and your feet meet the sand. The shoreline isn't wide, but it stretches beautifully along the coast. I found myself walking there in the mornings and again in the evenings, letting the rhythm of the waves mark the day. That simple routine--down the stairs, onto the sand--became the most memorable part of the stay.
