They thought of everything for kids to make it fun, family friendly, and convenient! We didn't know how many diapers a toddler can go through for our weekend getaway trip here! They have a convenient vending machine that has diapers supplies, medicine and everything that a parent might have fell short of or left behind. I was delighted about this. It saves me a trip to Target. My toddler loved the dragons in our room and his side corner room of his own where he played with the leggos that were in the room. We were impressed with the night ceiling glow in the dark stars and themed decor everywhere one went here! Outside and inside, is packed with lego themed entertainment. They have magic show and live performances throughout the day here and/or at Legoland hotel which is right across from this hotel (steps away). Breakfast was solid with service being at par, Monte Cristo sandwiches, kid friendly foods, and yogurt as the highlights. It's just right outside of the Legoland park which made the logistics to go back to the room, so easy. We had a fun time here! Everything is awesome ~ Lego!

Check in is at 4pm but we did not get our room until 5pm. At these prices, that feels unacceptable. After we brought it up, they did try to make it right by giving us a few Reserve and Ride passes which actually helped a lot the following day. The room itself was pretty magical. There is a separate kids sleeping area with bunk beds and its own TV. I have never seen anything like this before and we genuinely loved it. Unfortunately, the main bed was horrifying. I woke up with extreme back pain which was a big letdown. The walls are paper thin. Our room was the first one after the lobby and we could hear all the screaming and tantrums happening outside. That part was super irritating. Walking in to our room, the treasure chest was a nice touch. The playground was fun. We did not get to use the heated pool but it looked good. The Castle hotel felt calmer that day. The regular hotel was absolutely packed and the pool of Lego toys smelled like farts and vomit. The events felt pretty bogus and amateurish, basically just something to keep the kids busy. There is a dance party every night and outdoor movies. The dinner buffet was painful. One hundred dollars for two adults and one kid. My kid ate one chicken tender, one slice of cheese pizza, and one helping of mac and cheese. That hurt my soul like no other. By staying here, you do get early access to select rides at the theme park before general park opening which was actually pretty neat. It was still busy, with about a twenty five minute wait for the first ride, but once general admission opened that same ride jumped to over an hour and a half so this perk definitely saved us some line time. Breakfast is complimentary but you need to reserve. The food was rough. There were very limited options and barely any juice choices, which made it feel even more disappointing. Overall though, for my son, it was actually pretty magical. He loved every part of the hotel. He honestly thought this was Legoland itself and was already satisfied before we even went to the theme park the next day. As someone who loves legos, I got to let out my inner child. Adult me, however, was crying over the costs and the back pain from that bed. Emotionally as a parent, this was a solid win! Objectively as a hotel experience at this price point, there are too many serious misses. Final rating: 3.5 out of 5, rounded down.

Our family had a great stay here. The hotel is super convenient and worth every penny. Checkin was easy and we loved the treasure hunt in the room. Breakfast was awesome and there was no line for us since we got down there before 8am for both days. How convenient to be able to go to the hotel mid day to nap our kids and then return to the park when they wakeup. The after park events hosted by both hotels were also lots of fun. The bathroom was big and the water pressure was very good for a hotel. They quickly delivered a pack and play for our baby once requested. I love the concierge through text. My toddler LOVED the theming and his own room! He usually never sleeps through the night in his own bed at home, but at the hotel he stayed in the bunk the whole night both nights! At napped there too. Will definitely stay here again whenever we go to Legoland.

We wanted to surprise our kids with a quick weekend get away and decided to visit Legoland and to stay at one of the hotels. Based on reviews we saw online, we opted for the Castle Hotel because it was newer & had better amenities and we're so glad we did. First off, the check-in process was great. Since you basically do it online beforehand, you just show up, get your keycards, and go to your room. It was one of the fastest check-ins we've ever had. However, I will say, before that, the parking situation isn't ideal. It really seems like they're pushing for valet as that took up most of the parking around the hotel & most of the close spots. Handicap parking was also huge, but I understand that that was probably also used for the park itself. It just felt like the self-parking area was small and far away. There was one night we met family outside of the park for dinner and when we came back, we barely got the final hotel parking spot & it was a parallel parking spot way in the far corner. I really wish they had more self-parking spots for hotel guests. The rooms themselves are nice. They're themed top down and clearly aimed towards the kids. Did I particularly love the giant castle siege painting on the wall across from our bed or the stained glass light above the headrest? No. But my kids did. And we knew that's what it was all about. Each room also comes with a lock box and via the phone app (or the tablet placed in the room to control things like the temp) you can go to the lobby, answer a few scavenger hunt questions, then return to your room to unlock the box. Inside will be a small Lego set for your kids (up to 2 depending on how many kids you register for the room). My kids loved that. I just kinda wish they had to go explore the hotel a bit more so that the whole experience lasted longer than the 5ish minutes it took my 8 year old to figure it out. I appreciated that the kids had their own separate bunk bed area with a curtain. It did give a nice little separation from kid to adult space that a lot of other hotels don't. It let my wife stay up to watch some TV without disturbing the kids while they slept. That was a great perk. The playground area was also great. Our kids loved running around and climbing on the obstacles every night and every morning. They also play movies, but my kids were too amped to sit down. They also had bingo and story time that they appreciated. The pool area looked small but fun. But it was too cold the weekend we were there so I can't speak on it that much. In all, the Castle Hotel is a great family first hotel. I really loved seeing my kids take it all in in amazement. And the place was kept clean and tidy the whole time by a staff that was friendly and understanding of all the kids running around. We've been to a few family hotels in Southern California and this is, by far, the best one we've been to. I'm sure we'll be back at some point. Maybe to experience one of the different themes they have throughout the hotel. I will say you get to go in to the park early with a hotel ticket, but it was only 45 minutes and only a few rides were open during that time. So, while nice, it wasn't a huge perk.

We did that reservation and we had to wait for a little while after the reservation time customer assistance are not the greatest hopefully next time we get better luck a different hotel so far not satisfied with the service and the waiting time .

If you are not staying on the third floor with anyone above you it's great besides that stayed three nights for my son birthday on the second floor knights and dragons theme room the room was great very spacious but the bed was very bad felt like a air mattress no microwaves in the room the guest parking is $40 a night and it's only a row of parking for hotel guest nightmare to find a parking spot with out having to circle around the parking lot 10 times waiting for a spot to open the room above us the kids running up and down the room jumping off the beds loud so be prepared staying here for a long amount of time the good side you get free buffet breakfast and early entrance to the park at 9:30 am over all stay 5 out of 10

Enjoyed the park and both of the hotels were beautiful visually, but the Castle hotel brought a terrible experience to our trip: there was someone's hair in our bathroom, and I told the manager about it, yet when we returned to the room, the hair was still there. One of the cleaning ladies was acting strangely and was laughing when we looked at her in the hallway -my husband assumed she had smoked something. It got worse at night - we could hear everything from the room next door: talking, laughing, sneezing, coughing until 1 am. The walls are so thin... Then, as a cherry on top, we could hear every door shutting in the hallway. We stayed there for 3 days and forgot what good sleep felt like.

Staff: The team here is very nice. As a customer of this park for over 10 years, I've stayed here about 3 times over the years. Each time the staff has been nice. The most recent visit only had one disappointment which was how long it took to pre check in our bags before visiting the park. It was about 10 mins of waiting on a Saturday morning. Apparently both guys were handling luggage runs inside. Perhaps they save at least one person to help with customers waiting to pre-check their luggage. I went inside to ask if there's anybody else and I was told I needed to wait for them to come back. Anybody should be able to qualify to simply take luggage and check it in. Quality: This hotel is awesome and newer than the original next door. We opted for a character room with a birthday package. The package was $110 or so and includes a cool door banner, bag, Lego set, Lego stuffed animal, and figure with a light. Al items you take home. Value: The hotel can be expensive and it's peak times, however if you research it a bit it is reasonable. One major prick of the hotel. Is you get free breakfast buffet with your stay. There is a ton of great food options when you do this. Overall: I'm a big fan of this hotel. As I said many times before the customer service that you experience at Legoland is quite good considering that is mostly run by younger kids versus older adults. This tells me that the hiring staff does a good job of selecting employees. I've only had one bad experience, which is listed under my Legoland review.

Such a cool experience and my kids absolutely loved it! The whole place is packed with little details that make it feel special. One of our favorites was the treasure chest in the room that you have to "unlock" with clues. I also really liked that the bunk beds were in a separate room which gave the kids their own little space. The theming is spot-on and the vibe is great. I strongly recommend staying here if you're visiting the park!

Ask the Community - Legoland Castle Hotel

If we are staying at the original legoland hotel, do we still have access to the legoland castle activities, like the outdoor cinema? What differences r there between the buffet breakfast for the original vs castle hotel?

Yes you have access to both. That also includes the pools!

Are floaties and towels provided (free) for the pool?

Hello Jimmy, Thank you for your question! We do provide complimentary towels and life vests for…

Is there outdoor dining for breakfast?

Yes... they have a tent setup just outside the dining hall.

Are we able to get/order the free breakfast for take-out instead of dine-in? And if so, do we need to make a reservation to get breakfast as take-out? I noticed that there is a common criticism that the breakfast lines are really long.

I have never seen the lines be very long, and the breakfast they serve there is Buffet style at the Dragon's Den. And we even went during the post COVID rush in July! I imagine that the line at Bricks next door at the main hotel would be similarly…

Is there any swimming pool restrictions? Or is it as it always was?

Same restrictions as before Covid. No floating blocks in the deep end. No rough housing or throwing. No sitting on someone's shoulders. Swim UNDER the floaty rope, no climbing over. No running. No children without parents in the jacuzzi. And…

Are there microwaves in the rooms?

Not unless you ask for one. All the floors have one next to the ice and vending machines.

What is included in the free grab and go breakfast?

Presently not as much as before. Scrambled eggs(with and without dairy), Bacon, Sausage(Turkey and Pork),Soda, Coffee,Tea, Orange Juice, Various sealed cereals,Oat…

Does anyone know how to call the hotel directly we left something there and trying to get a hold of alive person?

https://www.chargerback.com/reportLostItemCBEmbed.asp?CustomerID=17490 Fill that out and they will…

    Is the pool heated?

    Yes

Can we go to the outdoor playground here if we stay at the legoland California hotel?

    Yes!

Does each hotel have their own pool or do they share one pool?

Each hotel has thier own pool.

Is there a microwave or mini fridge in the rooms?

    Mini fridge yes, no microwaves.

Which hotel would you recommend? Legoland or Castleland?! First vacation trip to Legoland and I can't decide which hotel to stay at!

My husband had just finished working six consecutive shifts at the fire department, and we were simply looking forward to a nice evening together. As we entered the parking lot, two men in a golf cart crossed in front of our vehicle. My husband honked, and there was later a brief verbal exchange about what had happened. There were no threats or physical confrontation from us, and we believed the matter was over. Later, while we were still seated at our dinner table, a woman we had never met approached us and began questioning us about the parking-lot interaction. She told us that she and her husband were club members, repeatedly referenced their membership, said she had never seen us there before, and told us she "didn't want any problems in the future." I cannot speak to what she intended, but the encounter made both of us feel intimidated, unwelcome, and extremely uncomfortable. We later learned that an Aviara Country Club member event was being held at the restaurant that evening. After dinner, we discovered that our vehicle had been extensively damaged while parked on the property. Carlsbad Police investigated, and surveillance footage from the property documented what occurred. An individual associated with the earlier parking-lot encounter became the alleged suspect during the investigation. Our vehicle ultimately sustained nearly $15,000 in repair costs. I am intentionally not identifying anyone or making any statement about guilt. I am simply describing what my husband and I experienced that evening. What has disappointed us most is Park Hyatt Aviara's response afterward. I personally contacted hotel management and was told that Hyatt was cooperating with police, which we appreciated. We were also told that someone from Aviara Golf Club management would contact us to discuss what happened. That call never came. I understand that a hotel cannot control the actions of every person on its property, and I am not assigning legal responsibility to Hyatt. My concern is how we were treated as guests after such a serious and disturbing experience. We experienced an uncomfortable confrontation during dinner, left to discover nearly $15,000 in damage to our vehicle, and had to involve law enforcement. Yet we never felt the level of concern, communication, or follow-through we expected from a five-star property. That is what has been most disappointing. We chose Park Hyatt Aviara because we expected exceptional hospitality and guest care consistent with the Park Hyatt name. Instead, we left feeling uncomfortable, unsupported, and profoundly disappointed. I sincerely hope Park Hyatt Aviara considers how guests are cared for when something goes seriously wrong during their visit.

We appreciated the complementary breakfast. The towels and bedding were clean, and the hotel staff kept providing fresh, clean towels throughout the day, which was a nice touch. The beach attendants were friendly, the hotel provides sand toys for kids, and we really enjoyed the live music in the evenings. The location is excellent and made it easy to enjoy the beach. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of our room upon arrival was disappointing. The toilet seat had what appeared to be blood or feces on it, there was urine around the base of the toilet, which made it seem like the bathroom floor hadn't even been mopped, and there were crumbs and bits of food, along with a few dead bugs, around the beds. Thankfully, I had hand sanitizer with me and cleaned the bathroom before my children used it. A few other things to note: the balcony door was difficult to open, there was no screen door, and the complimentary beach chairs are quite small and may not be comfortable for larger adults. The sheets also seemed too small for the mattresses and kept coming off the corners during the night, which made sleeping less comfortable, no mattress covers. The beach itself is beautiful but fairly small, so it becomes crowded quickly. One suggestion for future guests: please rinse the sand off before you are getting into the pool, I witnessed people rinsing off im the pool after beach then after 2-3 minutes they came out and went upstairs. The pool is not a shower and the sand on the bottom of the pool hurt. Also, once you're finished using the beach loungers, remove your towels instead of leaving them behind. It was difficult to tell which chairs were actually occupied and which were available because many loungers had towels left on them. Overall, this hotel has a fantastic location and several nice amenities, but better attention to room cleanliness and a few small improvements would make a big difference. * also bring water shoes, the rocks at the beach are very painful*

I have been a loyal Hilton Honors member for more than a decade and currently hold Diamond status. I used my Hilton Honors points to stay for the weekend because I was burying my mother the following day. During an already difficult and emotional time, I expected a comfortable stay and at least a basic level of hospitality. Instead, I felt as though I was treated like someone who had just joined Hilton Honors. Before arriving, I selected a room on the third floor and completed mobile check-in specifically to accommodate my PTSD and help me feel more comfortable. However, when I physically arrived, the front-desk receptionist appeared unfamiliar with my reservation and checked me into a room on the first floor. I explained that I was a Diamond member and had deliberately selected a third-floor room, but my preference was still not honored. The room itself was also inadequate. The furniture was chipped and damaged, and the room had hard flooring with no carpet, making it feel cold and uncomfortable compared with what I expected from a Homewood Suites property. To make matters worse, the receptionist also failed to provide the two complimentary bottles of water offered to Diamond members. I understand that mistakes happen, but the overall lack of attention, recognition, empathy, and customer service was unacceptable. I was using my points during one of the most difficult weekends of my life, and Homewood Suites Carlsbad certainly made me feel anything but welcomed. I am shocked that this is how Homewood Suites treats a Diamond member who has remained loyal to Hilton for more than ten years.

Staff is always so very friendly and I appreciate the efforts Home2 Suites made to make my little monster feel special being that she was celebrating her born day. Extra hugs and thank yous to our host, Natalie. My daughter was over the moon + full of giggles when we arrived back to our room to find a new cuddly little friend fully equipped with the tv remote control, enjoying some cartoons. These are the little tidbits that make for such magical memories!!! As if the wonderful staff and clean rooms aren't enough, let me remind you that there is complimentary breakfast each and every day. You will happily fill your bellies with the typical breakfast spread: sausage, bacon, toast, bagels, fruit, and eggs. 5/5 Stars!! But we already expected that, right??! =D

Room itself looked clean and newer, and I like that the layout is bigger than a normal hotel room. Having the small kitchen with fridge, microwave, and sink makes it really convenient when traveling with kids. Bed was comfortable and the room felt modern overall. Breakfast is included which is nice, but the food itself was about a 1-2 out of 5. Selection looked okay -- eggs, potatoes, sausage, waffles -- but quality wasn't great and the waffle area was messy when we went. Still free, so it helps for families. Honestly I booked this mostly for value. Legoland Hotel was around $600-$800 for the night, and this stay was $262 on a Saturday with AAA discount, so big price difference. For families this makes a lot more sense. If I put myself as a kid, this place would actually be pretty cool -- pool, free breakfast, big room, waffle maker, space to move around. That's why I was leaning 4 stars at first. But had to drop it to 3 out of 5 because the toilet in the room was leaking, which you don't expect at this price and at a newer hotel. Little things like that matter, especially with family staying in the room. Overall 3 out of 5. Good value, family friendly, but needs better maintenance. Would still consider staying again for the price.

We stayed in a room with two queen beds. It was a nice size room on the fourth floor. Not much of a view since the hotel backs into the side of a mountain. The bathroom was also a nice size without it being a handicap room. The shower had no pressure, so that really stank. Please note that it is pet-friendly, so you just that in mind if you have pet dander allergies. The hotel itself is only five years old, so still really new. Our stay included breakfast, and it had most of your standards: sausage, eggs, hashbrown, fruit, yogurt, etc. What was so great was the made to order omelettes! They had a good variety of ingredients, so it was fun to make your own. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly! Didn't use any of the amenities, so I can't speak to that knowledgeably.

From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. A special shoutout to Chase-- excellent customer service. He was even able to get us checked into our room early so we could settle in and head straight down to the pool. Thanks Chase! The kids had the best time splashing around while my husband and I enjoyed piña coladas with an ocean view. The hotel also offers complimentary bikes to check out, so we took a family bike ride along the coast, which ended up being a true highlight for our girls. From the amazing food at the restaurant to the beautiful setting and genuinely wonderful staff, Cape Rey really stands out. It was the perfect little family escape, and we can't wait for our next stay!

I believe Daniel was the gentleman who checked us in, and he was so kind and welcoming. Our stay was overall wonderful. The hotel is very contemporary for a beach hotel. The parking ($40/daily) is a bit steep given the base price for the hotel, and I hope down the road they'll update the hot tub section to mirror the beautiful pool area. Overall, I'd stay here again.

Parking: Valet only $60 overnight Concierge and receptionist table is very simple and 1 person helping only, she is Super duper sweet and helpful. She checked us in, and since we booked via Amex, we received complimentary: - Suite upgrades - early check in - guarantee 4pm check out - daily breakfast for 2 - In room wifi - and $150 resort credit apply for restaurant, spa etc. This place has a e-bike, paddle board an surf board for guests to use anytime complimentary. If you happened to stay in 2nd floor, which they only have 3 floors, where Vaga restaurant is, to find your room is kinda tricky. Look at the signage and the room are through the double door, on your left when you face the restaurant. It requires your keycard access to enter through the double door. The room is so relaxing, the vibe is comforting. It has complimentary coffee, nespresso tea and bottle water. You can ask for more water at concierge. Look at the real life I believe eucalyptus stem on top of the shower head, love it. There's also a gym and spa in 1st floor, also access to beach. We asked for recommended restaurant around the area, she gave a 4 pages list of restaurant and little shops 2nd floor - has venue area with spacious gathering area and balcony overlooking the beach. Evening: you can enjoy cocktails on VAGA restaurant overlooking the beach with outdoor fireplace and patio. Fyi: the room has thin walls. We can hear ppl talking, walking, running on hall way every moment. So on our final bill: They comp all our daily breakfast including tips and room service delivery. They automatically deduct $150 resort credit regardless you spend under. It will apply to any other fees. Like it because they don't Knicks pick every single expenses, that shows their reputation and their hotel guests matter over little charges. Overall, love this place. Will definitely come back. Highly recommended.

I felt it was meant for a family with small children. However the beds were comfortable. The next night I spoke with David and Grace at the front desk. They were so kind and approachable. I appreciate it!

So we need to went back to the lobby to make sure where the room located. Second, they didn't inform us that we will be charged for $10 each day for borrowing microwave. Third, the complementary coffee never been refilled after 10 A.M. the first day, I was there around 9:30 to get some coffee but the creamer was out. So I informed the receptionist name 'Maria' and instead of assisting, she told me to request it to the staff at the restaurant. The second day, I was there around 10 AM and no more coffee. When I asked the waitress at the restaurant, they said the coffee is not meant for hotel guests instead it's for corporate people. Very confusing. Fourth, the cleaning staff didn't really pay attention to the details like shampoo, body wash, bottle water, and tea. I have to called the front desk everyday to asked for the refill. Also there's no signal for Verizon provider so it needs to get connected to the Wi-Fi. I really hope they can be more informative and pay attention to the details in the room.
