We stayed at the LEGOLAND Castle Hotel during our three-day LEGOLAND trip. The rooms are definitely on the smaller side, but this trip was all about the kiddos, and they absolutely loved staying here. There are a lot of little touches that make the hotel special for kids. The room comes with LEGO bricks to play with, and if they want more, you can simply text the hotel and request additional bricks. If you're celebrating a birthday, they also put a cool birthday banner outside your room that you can keep. It was a nice little touch that made the celebration feel more special. One of our kids' favorite parts was the hotel treasure hunt. There are four questions to answer around the hotel, and once you complete them, you get the combination to a locked treasure box inside your room with a small prize. If you're staying multiple nights, you can get a new prize each night, up to two prizes total. The playground and pool connected to the Castle Hotel were awesome. LEGOLAND closes relatively early--7 p.m. on weekdays and 8 p.m. on weekends during our visit--so having a playground where the kids could continue playing afterward was a huge plus. They also showed a movie and had some fun shows and entertainment from the hotel staff. I'd also recommend walking over to the other LEGOLAND Hotel while you're there. They have a really cool indoor pirate ship play area that is definitely worth checking out with the kids. Overall, the Castle Hotel really added to our LEGOLAND experience. The rooms may be small, but there's so much for the kids to enjoy that it didn't really matter to us. If you're coming to LEGOLAND with young kids, staying here keeps the fun going even after you leave the park. Five stars from our family! read more

As OC residents, I've never felt the need to book an overnight at the LEGOLAND hotels since we are only an hour away. We've visited every year since my son was born. Now, at the age of 11, he's asked why we haven't stayed at the hotel ever and he expressed wanting to experience it just once. So of course, I obliged and booked a night over Memorial Day wknd. The good: - the castle hotel is really cute and the treasure hunt was fun for my son and he was delighted at unlocking the treasure chest for his prize. - The rooms are decorated in Lego heaven, as one would expect. - rooms come with complimentary apple juice and water, in addition to coffee. The bad: - another review said that it was basically a motel room with Lego decor; they are not wrong! The rooms are very small and while it is set up cute; if you lose the decor, you are basically in a motel room. - I question the cleanliness... the rooms have a very musty feeling in the air and the remote control was covered in dust. - while it's a plus that there is a fridge in the room, it is too big for the opening and was constantly tilting on one side. My son had a milk in there that wasn't sealed and the tilt caused it to spill. So be aware of that. - the texting of hotel management for any needs and self check-in kiosk was fine, but there was definitely a lack of human presence there, in terms of customer service. You can't just pick up the phone to call to ask for anything or inquire about anything. My son had a great time at the hotel and that's really all that mattered at the end of the day. But I'm glad that this has been ticked off the family list! read more

First time here. Came with family. Property is well taken care of and lots to do for the lil ones. Food options are good, a bit pricey but ok. Entrance ticket was also very good, doesn't feel like a have to get a second mortgage to pay for tickets if Disneyland was the choice. All staff members were also pros. I will come back. They thought of everything for kids to make it fun, family friendly, and convenient! We didn't know how many diapers a toddler can go through for our weekend getaway trip here! They have a convenient vending machine that has diapers supplies, medicine and everything that a parent might have fell short of or left behind. I was delighted about this. It saves me a trip to Target. My toddler loved the dragons in our room and his side corner room of his own where he played with the leggos that were in the room. We were impressed with the night ceiling glow in the dark stars and themed decor everywhere one went here! Outside and inside, is packed with lego themed entertainment. They have magic show and live performances throughout the day here and/or at Legoland hotel which is right across from this hotel (steps away). Breakfast was solid with service being at par, Monte Cristo sandwiches, kid friendly foods, and yogurt as the highlights. It's just right outside of the Legoland park which made the logistics to go back to the room, so easy. We had a fun time here! Everything is awesome ~ Lego! read more

Check in is at 4pm but we did not get our room until 5pm. At these prices, that feels unacceptable. After we brought it up, they did try to make it right by giving us a few Reserve and Ride passes which actually helped a lot the following day. The room itself was pretty magical. There is a separate kids sleeping area with bunk beds and its own TV. I have never seen anything like this before and we genuinely loved it. Unfortunately, the main bed was horrifying. I woke up with extreme back pain which was a big letdown. The walls are paper thin. Our room was the first one after the lobby and we could hear all the screaming and tantrums happening outside. That part was super irritating. Walking in to our room, the treasure chest was a nice touch. The playground was fun. We did not get to use the heated pool but it looked good. The Castle hotel felt calmer that day. The regular hotel was absolutely packed and the pool of Lego toys smelled like farts and vomit. The events felt pretty bogus and amateurish, basically just something to keep the kids busy. There is a dance party every night and outdoor movies. The dinner buffet was painful. One hundred dollars for two adults and one kid. My kid ate one chicken tender, one slice of cheese pizza, and one helping of mac and cheese. That hurt my soul like no other. By staying here, you do get early access to select rides at the theme park before general park opening which was actually pretty neat. It was still busy, with about a twenty five minute wait for the first ride, but once general admission opened that same ride jumped to over an hour and a half so this perk definitely saved us some line time. Breakfast is complimentary but you need to reserve. The food was rough. There were very limited options and barely any juice choices, which made it feel even more disappointing. Overall though, for my son, it was actually pretty magical. He loved every part of the hotel. He honestly thought this was Legoland itself and was already satisfied before we even went to the theme park the next day. As someone who loves legos, I got to let out my inner child. Adult me, however, was crying over the costs and the back pain from that bed. Emotionally as a parent, this was a solid win! Our family had a great stay here. The hotel is super convenient and worth every penny. Checkin was easy and we loved the treasure hunt in the room. Breakfast was awesome and there was no line for us since we got down there before 8am for both days. How convenient to be able to go to the hotel mid day to nap our kids and then return to the park when they wakeup. The after park events hosted by both hotels were also lots of fun. The bathroom was big and the water pressure was very good for a hotel. They quickly delivered a pack and play for our baby once requested. I love the concierge through text. My toddler LOVED the theming and his own room! He usually never sleeps through the night in his own bed at home, but at the hotel he stayed in the bunk the whole night both nights! At napped there too. Will definitely stay here again whenever we go to Legoland. read more

We wanted to surprise our kids with a quick weekend get away and decided to visit Legoland and to stay at one of the hotels. Based on reviews we saw online, we opted for the Castle Hotel because it was newer & had better amenities and we're so glad we did. First off, the check-in process was great. Since you basically do it online beforehand, you just show up, get your keycards, and go to your room. It was one of the fastest check-ins we've ever had. However, I will say, before that, the parking situation isn't ideal. It really seems like they're pushing for valet as that took up most of the parking around the hotel & most of the close spots. Handicap parking was also huge, but I understand that that was probably also used for the park itself. It just felt like the self-parking area was small and far away. There was one night we met family outside of the park for dinner and when we came back, we barely got the final hotel parking spot & it was a parallel parking spot way in the far corner. I really wish they had more self-parking spots for hotel guests. The rooms themselves are nice. They're themed top down and clearly aimed towards the kids. Did I particularly love the giant castle siege painting on the wall across from our bed or the stained glass light above the headrest? No. But my kids did. And we knew that's what it was all about. Each room also comes with a lock box and via the phone app (or the tablet placed in the room to control things like the temp) you can go to the lobby, answer a few scavenger hunt questions, then return to your room to unlock the box. Inside will be a small Lego set for your kids (up to 2 depending on how many kids you register for the room). My kids loved that. I just kinda wish they had to go explore the hotel a bit more so that the whole experience lasted longer than the 5ish minutes it took my 8 year old to figure it out. I appreciated that the kids had their own separate bunk bed area with a curtain. It did give a nice little separation from kid to adult space that a lot of other hotels don't. It let my wife stay up to watch some TV without disturbing the kids while they slept. That was a great perk. The playground area was also great. Our kids loved running around and climbing on the obstacles every night and every morning. They also play movies, but my kids were too amped to sit down. They also had bingo and story time that they appreciated. The pool area looked small but fun. But it was too cold the weekend we were there so I can't speak on it that much. In all, the Castle Hotel is a great family first hotel. I really loved seeing my kids take it all in in amazement. And the place was kept clean and tidy the whole time by a staff that was friendly and understanding of all the kids running around. We've been to a few family hotels in Southern California and this is, by far, the best one we've been to. I'm sure we'll be back at some point. Maybe to experience one of the different themes they have throughout the hotel. I will say you get to go in to the park early with a hotel ticket, but it was only 45 minutes and only a few rides were open during that time. So, while nice, it wasn't a huge perk. read more

Enjoyed the park and both of the hotels were beautiful visually, but the Castle hotel brought a terrible experience to our trip: there was someone's hair in our bathroom, and I told the manager about it, yet when we returned to the room, the hair was still there. One of the cleaning ladies was acting strangely and was laughing when we looked at her in the hallway -my husband assumed she had smoked something. It got worse at night - we could hear everything from the room next door: talking, laughing, sneezing, coughing until 1 am. The walls are so thin... Then, as a cherry on top, we could hear every door shutting in the hallway. We stayed there for 3 days and forgot what good sleep felt like. read more

This hotel looks really cool from the outside. There is a slide going down alongside the stairs, and characters wandering the halls. It is attached (basically) to the Legoland entrance for easy access. It was fun to wander through and see the castle themed Lego creations inside. Staff: The team here is very nice. As a customer of this park for over 10 years, I've stayed here about 3 times over the years. Each time the staff has been nice. The most recent visit only had one disappointment which was how long it took to pre check in our bags before visiting the park. It was about 10 mins of waiting on a Saturday morning. Apparently both guys were handling luggage runs inside. Perhaps they save at least one person to help with customers waiting to pre-check their luggage. I went inside to ask if there's anybody else and I was told I needed to wait for them to come back. Anybody should be able to qualify to simply take luggage and check it in. Quality: This hotel is awesome and newer than the original next door. We opted for a character room with a birthday package. The package was $110 or so and includes a cool door banner, bag, Lego set, Lego stuffed animal, and figure with a light. Al items you take home. Value: The hotel can be expensive and it's peak times, however if you research it a bit it is reasonable. One major prick of the hotel. Is you get free breakfast buffet with your stay. There is a ton of great food options when you do this. Overall: I'm a big fan of this hotel. As I said many times before the customer service that you experience at Legoland is quite good considering that is mostly run by younger kids versus older adults. This tells me that the hiring staff does a good job of selecting employees. I've only had one bad experience, which is listed under my Legoland review. read more

Our kids and nephews (ages ranging from 2-6) love this hotel. It's well themed everywhere, the amenities are great and the breakfast buffet is pretty good and has something for everyone. It's not Disney so people need to get over their expectations - we always stay "on campus" for dinner at the other hotel at the Bricks Buffet and breakfast here and have an evening full of entertainment (bingo, dance party, find the chicken mini fig for a pop badge, story time, photos with characters, playground and magic show!). The reservations need to be made for breakfast and dinner in advance from the open table link on their website (starting at the Legoland website link, not the open table site or app). They could do lego themed churro waffles but they don't to keep the costs low and the chilequiles and Monte cristo are fine. Hotel guests also get early access by showing your hotel keycard and the time depends on when the park opens. Info is on the website. I would join the fb group for Legoland CA tips and tricks to know what's going on - we were there ninjago weekend and completed the worksheet and got a cool gold medallion in the end. Also, the hotels are more generous with pop badges when the hotel is empty around mid morning (versus in the crowded evenings when my son cried when told it was only one pop badge per family and we had four kids with us). They also changed their policy to only one gift per stay per kid instead of per day. Our kids were used to opening the dragon safe everyday we are there (usually two nights and three days) but they just changed their policy to one per stay which is lame bc it's usually a minifigure or a $5 poly bag. Totally lame they took that away in light of the high prices to stay here. One thing they do need to improve is blanket charging everyone $40 a day for parking when booking the room with a season pass with free parking (I entered the season pass barcode to book). EVERY SINGLE VISIT (this past weekend was our 6th time) - I spend copious amounts of time getting refunded, being assured I'll receive an email stating there are no charges for parking and then going back in line and explaining again to the front desk person to just print out a receipt that shows no parking charges. This time the guy wasn't sure if the printer was working and it took up 20-30 min of my time for this ordeal. It is super annoying for everyone - please fix your backend coding on the booking site! They suggested I show my pass when I check in to avoid this so I will try that but I have little hope based on our past experiences with this one issue. Also, it would be nice to have snacks/ice cream in the castle shop open until later along with a coffee and bar. Otherwise you have to hunt for it (the other hotel has one). read more

So first time at Legoland and it wasn't the best. Had two really tired kids and got to hotel at 3:50pm hoping to check in but we had to wait.. After about an hour our room was ready around 5pm. Once in the room the kids had already done the hunt and had the code to open the safe. Once open they were so upset because it was empty, I had to call and they came and delivered them to us, but the entire experience was not the same. The TV wouldn't work and had to call someone to come and fix the wires. We spoke to the manager and ended up getting a credit for two nights of parking which was helpful. Overall I don't think we will be coming back here anytime soon, hopefully your stay will be better than ours read more

Had an amazing time staying here. Such a cute and cool setup. We stayed in the Knights and Dragons room and it did not disappoint. The rooms were very nice size and had something for everyone in the family. The bed for the adults was super comfortable and was separated from the kids room/area. They had their own room setup with bunk beds. I believe there was a trundle underneath the bottom bunk as well, but we didn't need it for our visit. My kids loved the light show they have in their room. Little projector you could turn on that looked like the stars outside. Bathroom was nice size which made it easier for everyone to be comfortable as well. Each room comes with a little safe that the kids walk around the property and do a scavenger hunt to get the code to unlock it. Inside is a nice little surprise for each kid. Made it a lot of fun. Only arguments I would have aren't really anything too crazy..... The TV had some channels dedicated to Lego movies that just didn't work... Also the breakfast itself was definitely nothing to brag about. Was hoping for something a bit better, but the kids were happy so that works for me. We look forward to going back. read more

We come here every year due to the fun rooms and convenience but this might have been our last stay . We'll see . Legoland knows they can depend on a constant influx of guests , so sadly , I'm not sure they have any motivation to improve . The main complaint is the value for the cost , you're paying for a 4 -5 star hotel price but the quality is closer to 2.5-3. - something is wrong with the ventilation system in bathrooms. It smelled like sewage the whole time and made me dizzy . I have noticed this on multiple trips . - as other guests remarked , the walls are thin , don't expect much sleep and bring sound machines! - the buffets almost always have a wait even with reservations but the food is fine . Give yourself at least 15 min extra time . - bunk rooms should have a door not just a curtain - kids bunks are horrible quality and hurts their backs - bedding often has holes and is too thin - you can't request anything in advance , like microwaves , so it's pointless to put it in your notes lol, they should just make those standard in all rooms . - if you want to add a night they truly don't care about the business . You have to constantly check , they won't call you . - there's no phone in room to make requests or report issues . You have to text /it's hit or miss. -lifeguards are meh . Boys were throwing the bricks in air for 15 min almost hitting people's heads right in front of a lifeguard and they didn't notice or care . - no guarantee on adjacent rooms . It worked out but very arduous to request ! Tips : - the third floor is significantly quieter (wizard rooms). - ask for even numbered rooms to avoid movie /band noise . - it's quieter than Lego hotel but they're more helpful staff at Lego hotel for some reason read more

We decided to celebrate my son's birthday at Legoland, so opted to stay at the castle hotel. This was our first time at Legoland. Right when you walk into the hotel, you already see a giant pit of legos and a metal slide coming down from the 2nd floor, a makeshift dungeon and a throne, all in lego-esque motif. We were quickly welcomed by staff and checked in, including a lanyard for collecting "pins" at the park. Walking down the corridors to our room, it was pretty dark and a bit dingy, so I was a bit worried. But once inside, kids loved it. We got a knight themed room so the bunk bed was decorated with shields and banners. There was a night light that illuminated a constellation on the ceiling, very cute. And a Lego building area on the wall. The room also has a safe with a prize, just need to figure out the lock combo by finding the clues throughout the hotel, a fun scavenger hunt for the kids! Also appreciated all the kid-friendly touches, like the bathroom stool for the sink and kid sized toilet seats. Well done. Outside, they have a kids playground and giant lego pieces. Also a large screen with showtimes throughout the day/night, our kids caught the Lego Movie during the day. Overall, enjoyed our stay. Kids want to go back. We recently stayed at the Legoland Castle Hotel, and while there were a few fun touches for kids, it definitely didn't live up to the price. The hotel itself honestly felt more like a motel with a LEGO makeover. The themed rooms with the kings, queens, decorations, and fun bedding were cute and made it exciting for the kids, but beyond that, the hotel is in serious need of renovations. The carpets were absolutely filthy and covered in stains, which immediately made the room feel dirty. One of the biggest selling points for us was the included early park access. Unfortunately, it was incredibly disappointing. While you're technically allowed into the park early, only about two or three rides are actually open during that time. The vast majority of the park is still closed, so you're essentially limited to choosing between the same few rides. It felt very misleading, especially since early access was one of the main reasons we chose to stay at the hotel. The food was another huge letdown. I understand hotel and theme park food is expensive, but when you're paying premium prices, you expect at least decent quality. Instead, we were served what tasted like microwaved burgers, pizza, and chicken tenders. Paying $22 for a basic burger and $18 for a margarita is hard to justify when the food quality is so poor. The pool was also surprisingly small and honestly felt dirty. It even had a noticeable urine smell, which made us not want to spend much time there. Overall, the theming is fun for kids, but that's where the positives end. For what this hotel charges, I expected a much cleaner, better-maintained property, higher-quality food, and a more worthwhile early park experience. Unless major improvements are made, I don't think we'd stay here again. read more

Amazing staff members every single one of them including housekeepers were polite and friendly. My son accidentally slipped on the pool side. The lifeguards and medic was quick to assist and comforted my child. There were 3 lifeguards watching the children in the pool, all on each side of the pool. While 2-3 attendants were helping guests with towels, life vest and going over pool rules. They were worked smoothly and everyone had a smile on their face. So corporate if you are reading this, they deserve a raise. read more

We are paying over $1,000 a night for a suite, but the A/C doesn't work. When we complained, they brought us fans and said we could switch rooms if we vacated this one by 11am and they would let us know when the new one is ready, but we can't be without a room for any period of time. After a terrible night's sleep we wanted to walk to Starbucks at 5am but the walking path is locked until 8am and there's no onsite coffee shop open until 7am. Absolutely horrible experience and the hotel only apologized but never offered to reimburse us. Will never stay here again. read more

I will preface my review by saying that we planned this trip for the kids and they had a great time, including at the hotel. But if you are even remotely picky about hotels, this may not be the spot for you. If you don't like showering in 2 inches of standing water, this may not be the spot for you. If you don't like a hotel that has a "hair and body wash in one" (and you forgot your own shampoo and conditioner at home), this may not be the spot for you. If you prefer that a hotel room includes things like body lotion, q-tips or any other standard toiletries, this may not be the spot for you. If you prefer not to hear lots of kids yelling in the hallway while your kid is trying to nap, this may not be the spot for you. If you would be displeased that all the lights turned off automatically while you were taking a shower and you were then stranded in the pitch black because your husband left the room and removed the room key from the "energy efficient" room key slot, this may not be the spot for you. If none of these things would bother you, then this is a convenient hotel that provides early access to Legoland (we were able to enter the park at 9:15am vs. the regular 10am opening). We stayed at the LEGOLAND Castle Hotel in Room 104 to celebrate our daughter's birthday. We left with serious concerns about privacy, safety, and the hotel's lack of guest support -- especially for a property marketed toward families with young children. First issue: 3am noise On our first night, a hotel staff member used a leaf blower outside our room window at 3:00 A.M. After a 10-hour drive and a full day in the park, this was a brutal disruption. We tried calling the number on the key card for help and got what felt like an automated message -- no live support, no one to talk to, no follow-up. There's no functioning front desk at night. Second (and worse): Peephole privacy issue Room 104 has a low-mounted peephole "for kids" that allows clear visibility into the room from the hallway. I've posted a photo taken from the hallway through the peephole -- you can see our beds and personal belongings. We didn't discover this until checkout, meaning we were exposed the entire stay. This room is located at the very end of the entire hotel, next to an employee utility access door -- making the privacy risk even more serious. When we told staff, they said they'd "check it after we left." No apology. No accountability. We were given a late checkout and fast passes (which we couldn't fully use). That doesn't come close to addressing the loss of privacy or middle-of-the-night disruption. This experience is in comparison to my experience earlier this year at Legoland Hotel. As our last day at Legoland, we wanted to enjoy breakfast and made sure to make reservations at Dragon's Den (the hotel restaurant) early that morning for 9:15 am. When we got there the line was wrapped around the restaurant for both walk ins and reservations. We waited in line for 5 minutes and checked in. At 9: 30 I began to question if our table was at least being prepared since we are not 15 minutes in. The front hostess asked how many people, not my reservation name and I stated 7. She said that is a large group and I replied, correct, which is why we made reservations, she rolled her eyes and pushed her way past me. Other guests were taken back by as was I. We were finally seated at 9:35 am to a dirty table and a mess to be honest. To have this be the last memory at Legoland is saddening considering the amount of money spent just to have a couple of fun days with our kids. read more

It was a really good experience and we'd do it again. It's got plenty of reviews already so I'll just hit a few bullets of interesting things we noticed: - The suite was great. Kids room slept 3 on a high bunk, low bunk and trundle. But there was no other floor space in there. Tight quarters! Adults had a separate room with a door and a king bed. And a fold out queen in the living room. SO the place actually slept 7. - The bathroom was sort of great sort of weird. It had a huge toilet and bath area which is great if you're helping bathe kids or helping with potty time... but then the massive door swings out in such a way that it's impossible to use one of the twin sinks if the door needs to open or close. - Walls were darn thin and I could even hear our neighbors snoring... but I managed to sleep anyway. And other guests seemed to all be silent by 10pm each night. - There are some crazy dangerous sharp edges in exactly the places you'd expect to hit your head, especially in the kids' room - but someone (hotel staff?) had added corner bumpers to most of them. But they entirely missed the opportunity to add a bumper in the "adults" room where they located a chair right under a shelf holding a lego dragon - begging you to get a concussion if you sit in the chair. I moved the chair. - The scavenger hunt was great. - The onsite playground was great. And it has a ginormous bright LED movie screen next to it which was showing Lego Batman - so our kids alternated between running around and being mesmerized by the movie. It was really nice. - The restaurant was decent. For breakfast they had a big variety of standard fare included in the room price. Though it's basically a motel-level accommodation with a LEGO overlay, this place is totally set up for kids (and let's be honest, that's the reason you're here). We reserved the Magic Wizard Deluxe Room and our kid loved the bunk bed and the LEGO building area. The breakfast buffet is included and it's fine. Think chocolate chip pancakes, oatmeal, made to order omelettes, chilaquiles, tater tots, bran muffins, all manner of bread, bagels, and kid cereals. I expected a room that fits 5 people to be a little bigger. They really play you with the kids room. I would have preferred open space than what they did with it. Walking in the hallways the carpets were super stained but nothing smelled. The room was a bit musty but once the AC went on all was well. I wish we had had more space and an actual bathroom door in the room. The king bed was comfortable enough for 2 adults. The kids bed were sooooo uncomfortable. My husband had to sleep on the "third" bed and it was absolute torture. They know 3 adults can book with 2 kids and don't make it friendly. Our room was in the back of the hotel and it took forever to get there. Wish there was a door to go through from the back and not have to park in the back and walk all the way to the front of the hotel just to walk to the back again. The staff was friendly enough but honestly didn't see many of them. I recommend the experience if you have kids ages 4-8. 10yo might be pushing it. read more

My family really enjoyed our stay at the Castle hotel. Check in was super easy. I liked how customers are notified when the room is ready. I like how all the rooms have a theme. The breakfast buffet is wonderful and families should make a reservation. The buffet has a line to get in every morning. My family really loved the pool. There were a few life guards on duty, so it felt very safe. There are lots of night activities for the kids. Overall, I highly recommend! My family can't wait to come back again. read more

5 stars if you ask my kids 4 stars if you ask me and my husband :) I read some poor reviews but we had a great time at the Castle Hotel. It is expensive but also very convenient and the early entry into the park is a plus. We have a toddler who still naps, so we could easily walk back to our room within 5 minutes and put him down. This is worth a lot for parents lol. The breakfast buffet which was included was also easy and convenient for families. They have pretty much everything you need to fill up and have energy for the morning. Our room was the princess suite, which my daughter loved. There are some nice touches for young ones, like corner protectors, a Lego board on the wall, all carpet in the room, and plug protectors. They also have a sign stating that the AC is intentionally quiet which I really appreciated! It's annoying when you are staying in a hotel room the AC is super loud. I loved the outdoor space which we used both during the day and evening. There is a playground for both younger and older kids, seating to watch the screen (they either play Lego movies or short clips about Legos), and a fun pool with giant Legos. They have a restaurant on site where you can order food to go. In the evenings, my daughter got ice cream and I got wine. Win win! read more

I really wanted to love this place, I'd heard amazing things. But unfortunately our experience was poor from the moment we got there. First, it was almost impossible to find available spots that aren't valet, but there's a ton of open valet spots, it's clearly designed to make you spend more money. Then when we went to check in our room wasn't ready, it was 5:30pm, check in is supposed to be ready by 4pm. They told us they'd give us a credit later when we went back for our room, we instead just wanted late checkout but we were told no they can't guarantee that until morning of. When we went back for our room there was no one there, just machines, so we didn't know if we got the credit. When we went back the next day to check we were told we had $75 credit and we could apply it to late checkout for the next day. When another employee later stepped in to inform us that no we couldn't do late checkout until morning of - but for the inconvenience of the other employee giving us wrong information they would give us checkout until noon (we had to pay) and up our credit to $200. We decided that was fine and we'd use pool in morning.. when we went to pool in morning it was closed until 10am, they were training life guards. We waited almost 1.5 hours for it to open while we saw many sad kids walk up not being able to use it ... so much for a kid friendly hotel that doesn't open the pool until 3-4hours after kids wake up so that they can train life guards on a summer weekend! Meanwhile we went back down to extend our checkout until 1pm (again we'd have to pay). We were told no it was sold out and oh actually they never upped our credit to $200. At this point the staff had clearly messed up the day before and the day before that when our room wasn't ready, and we were paying the cost. The manager said there was nothing they would do, no more credit, no late checkout, no extra day of park tickets, nothing. This all could have been a non issue if they just had showers or a hospitality suite to shower from pool after checkout like every other resort we've been to has. Now the food, it was mediocre at best but very expensive. Costs more than the food in the park but tastes worth. The first night I ordered a burger and asked for it well done because I'm pregnant, they said they can't do that they cook all their burgers to same temp - wtf. The second night my daughter wanted plain noodles, they tried charging us the same price as the kids steak. And leaving to go get better cheaper food? Forget about it because then you can't find parking when you get back. One night my husband himself a cookie and me a seltzer at the bar in the other hotel, they handed him a whiteclaw and charged him for it. Why would the server just assume he wanted alcoholic when he didn't ask? It was a bar but it had lots of kids drinks, snacks, etc. The server couldn't even fix the mistake so we had to wait a while for a manager The only reason this review is 2 stars not 1 is because my daughter had a ton of fun, and we liked the room layout. Tl;dr - badly trained staff, overpriced bad food, clear they care more about making a buck than their customers. read more

Loved that we could easily go back to the room and relax after a long day of walking. We stayed in the castle which had a pool/jacuzzi and playground. While the other hotel had and arcade, dance party at night and a pirate ship for the kids to play on. We enjoyed that our room looked out into the pool. We came on a cooler weekend so it was nice seeing how breezy it was at the pool. I felt like the other hotels pool was less windy but no jacuzzi. The castle pool also had a shed to order drinks and food while the other hotel didn't and since it wasn't busy, there was no one walking around to take orders. We got the suite which was nice to have separate rooms from the kids but also nice to sit together in the living room to eat and watch tv. Very convenient for being steps from the park but still don't get your own entrance to the park. read more

5-stars for the great customer service! All the employees we encountered were spectacular and so friendly! However, the room itself was not so great. We were in a room facing the Sea Life Aquarium and both nights, it was super loud from their night shift clean-up crew. On the first night, we heard loud noises from 3am-5am. On the second night, we heard noises throughout the night of loud banging. There is definitely no construction going on so it must have been the night shift clean-up crew. Also, the room itself has walls that are super thin. This has been the thinnest wall that I have encountered in a hotel room in my entire life. Thin walls and a kid hotel = loud screaming and tv noises until midnight and early morning. All in all though, we love the location, the customer service, and the free breakfast for hotel guests. Also, the early entry to Legoland perk is really awesome too! We will be back again in a few years but just come back with different expectations. I wish I remembered everyone's names who helped us- the front desk staff were fantastic as well as the restaurant staff! read more

The good: We were allowed to check-in early which was super useful for toddlers. I loved how the theme park and aquarium were directly behind the hotel within a 5 minute walk away. I enjoyed the kid-friendly touches like the stools in the bathroom, the windows that didn't open all the way for safety, the smaller toilet seat for toddlers, the bunk beds, the special treasure safe with a secret code that opened with Lego gifts inside, the Lego-shaped ice bucket, the Legos inside for kids to play with, the optional glow-in-the-dark light up stars on the ceiling. Checking in ahead online was easy to do. I'd happily stay again. The parking lot was not crowded. I was pleasantly surprised that we could use the pool in March. It was heated and the jacuzzi was nice too. I liked the enclosed playground area. The themed rooms were just too cute. There was also a queen-lady twisting balloons in the playground area. I like how there are Lego people blowing horns upon entry. I also liked how the entrance to the parking lot had a lot of Lego people. It is worthwhile to stay at the hotel if you're visiting the park especially if you have toddlers who need a mid-day nap. The lobby is fun with the Lego pit where kids could openly play. The lobby also had a fun slide. My daughter liked the elevator with the light-up wall. The bad: When your room is ready you get an email but the text might come 1 hour later they informed me. The restaurant in the hotel is expensive and the food was subpar. Parking was $35/day. Both of my toddlers got hurt within the first 5 minutes of going on the playground. My son flipped on the slide because of his grippy Crocs and my daughter twisted her ankle on the tall leaf balancing sticks. The interesting: I got a great 50% off deal from their Black Friday sale! The breakfast buffet is the same at both of the hotels. You can go to either one but they require making reservations. read more

DONT EVEN DESERVE A STAR!! Very disappointed with our experience at the LEGOLAND Castle Hotel. My family with two toddlers was asked to leave the hotel at around 8:00 PM simply because my kids were a little loud playing their games and excited about it, which is unbelievable for a place built entirely around children. Kicking out parents with very young children at night raises serious safety and compassion concerns. Toddlers get excited--especially at LEGOLAND. This situation could and should have been handled with patience and understanding. Allowing the family to stay the night and addressing any concerns the next day would have been the reasonable and humane approach. This incident reflects poorly on management and undermines trust in the LEGOLAND brand. A "family-friendly" hotel should support families, not punish them for kids acting like kids. I truly hope this is reviewed and changes are made to prevent this from happening again. read more

Great visit with the kids. Super cute rooms with a kid sleeping area. Very close walking distance to the park. We got the deal with 2 day park tickets and it was wonderful. There's a daily breakfast buffet at the restaurant in the hotel. Checking in, out, and everything else in between that you need from the staff is done over text messages. For example when we needed a bell hop we texted the number and they immediately sent someone. It's different but it works. Overall we had an excellent time and will be coming back again. read more

Appreciate the lengths Lego went to for a family friendly hotel room. Haven't experienced that before and it was pretty cool. Example, bathroom stools, little toilet seat cover, bunk beds, Lego building area in the room, little treasure chest where they had to find the code to get into it and a surprise of Lego kits. Was also impressed with the Lego sculptures in the rooms. Also the freebie bottles of water and juice boxes were great to come back to the hotel room after a long day to see. As for the negatives, the bed and couch pull out bed were absolutely terrible. Both felt like a thin pad on plywood. It was awful! The food (breakfast buffet and dinner buffet) was completely subpar. In fact, day two we didn't even want to bother with breakfast there so we went off property. Lobby is a fun feast for the eyes. In fact, the whole Lego overlay and theming and little magic touches is really quite wonderful. But the accommodations were so uncomfortable that I'm counting my blessings my boys are almost aged out so we probably won't be back. read more

We stayed at the Legoland Castle Hotel and absolutely loved the room--the little details were great and really made it feel magical for kids. Unfortunately, the staffing and customer service did not match that same energy. If the employees were friendlier, more welcoming, and showed even a bit of enthusiasm, it would have made the experience so much better. Instead, most of them seemed miserable, which was disappointing for a kid-centered place. The food at the theme park was also bland and overpriced. And to be honest, if your child isn't at least 40 inches tall, don't bother going--you'll end up paying theme-park prices just for playgrounds they can actually use. read more
