Getting there in an Uber/Lyft / taxi: there is no quick and easy designated drop off area. You must go to the right most lane and press the help button for them to let you in. It seems odd for a resort hotel. Maybe because majority of people rent cars and park on site. (This makes ordering from food and grocery delivery services and pickup a bit challenging as well. Allot for time to account for drivers canceling on you.) Hotel itself: so much fun! Lego bricks everywhere. The pirate ship on the first floor was a hit. Free breakfast buffet helped kick off each day nicely. Sound proofing was much better than typical mid-tier hotels. Elevator dance parties were fantastic. Service: hotel service was great! Very nice and friendly though sometimes hard to locate staff. Restaurant service was hit or miss. Pool: very fun, nice temperature controlled pool. Lots of floating Lego bricks. All kids are required to wear life jackets. Even though there was a sign that there was no lifeguard, clearly 3 lifeguards were circling at all times. The ground was very hot in the sun though - too hot to stand around. Towels were provided. Complimentary goodies: 2 bottles of water and 2 juice boxes are provided everyday. And 2 Lego bags in the Treasure Box (if you solve the scavenger hunt) each day too. Housekeeping: nice and quick and clean. But they don't refill everything. It's faster if you request by texting if you're low on anything (towels, tissue, etc) as they might not refill during routine housekeeping. Room type: fully themed rooms are all the way at the end of each hallway, quite a bit of a walk. The regularly themed rooms were already well decorated. I'd recommend just going with regularly themed. Misc: there is a CVS vending machine on the first floor with allergy, fever, nausea medication, saline, etc. The pricing wasn't outrageously marked up. We have now had two vacations at LEGOLAND hotel an theme park. And we loved both of them. This place is a wonderland if your kid is into Legos. It's more so for probably pre-teen and under as it's geared to the younger ages. The hotel property has lots of activities from Lego play areas and a swimming pool in both hotels. The do a nightly dance party in the LEGOLAND hotels. My son loved the dance parties. The castle hotel has outdoor stage for imaginary play, Lego outdoor play areas, playground, and movie screen that's playing all day and movies in the evening. Even the elevator has a disco ball and plays funky disco music when it's moving. Our family always gets into the groove when the music comes on. The rooms are all Lego themed. We got the lowest cost standard room both times. It has two sleep area with a queen bed with a bigger TV on the main side and a kids sleep are with a bunk bed and roll-a-way bed under with. Smaller TV . So that's a total of 4 beds (1-queen, 3-twins). They also provide a bucket of Legos to play in the room. Now the one downside to the older cheaper rooms, carpets are older should be deep cleaned more often. The hallways to the older rooms have a stinky feet smell to them. They do have newer renovated rooms if you want to splurge for cleaner haha. They also offer a treasure hunt that gets you a code to a safe in your room with a small 3-in-1 LEGO kit. Bummer though on our first trip it was one per night, now it's changed to one per stay. I saved the best for last. The complimentary breakfast buffet at Bricks. It's not just your fee item buffet, tons of stuff, see my review on Bricks page. I love me some breakfast and I love that it's included. At first glance the room is very cute and nicely decorated. It's very convenient to step right into legoland. The kids really enjoyed the dance party elevator and treasure hunt. I stayed in the DUPLO suite. I appreciate how the bathroom was very kid friendly. There's kid safe soap and potty. Complete with a step. Complimentary drinks and a fridge. There is 1 microwave in the hallway where the ice machine is at but there is a fridge and coffee maker in the room. Once you get over the awe of the room you can see the carpet is heavily stained from prior guest, my kids bunk bed room had a light per bunk. The top bunk's light was not working. That room also had a TV. That TV did not work because it was registered for another room and that other room has not checked in yet so the kids couldn't watch tv in their room. I have 3 kids and was trying to put them to bed at 9pm. In the hallway and the floor above us kids were thumping, running and yelling. I waited until 9:30pm to call front desk since it never quieted down. I asked if there was a quiet time as it's unreasonably loud. The floors and walls are thin. You can hear more than you want. I was told quiet time was not until 10pm. I felt as if it was a cheap motel house party going on. We also did not get to enjoy the pool area as it was over crowded. My kids loved the decor and legos all over the place but for the price it was not worth it. I'm an hour in to putting my kids to bed and the thumping has not stopped. I was told to call back after 10 and they'll have security look into it. Maybe I just got unlucky and got stuck near a rowdy crowd. I understand it's a kids themed park and this hotel caters to kids but certain behaviors should be kept in checked just for common courtesy. At the very least there should be some better sound proofing. I'd strongly consider staying somewhere else in the future. This hotel is not a matter of comfort but more for convenience. read more

We had the best time at the Legoland hotel! From parking, to check in, the process was super easy. The kiddos ran straight to the play areas and were excited to experience everything the hotel had. The rooms were clean and a good size. The kids loved the bunk bed area! It would be nice to have a dining table, but we figured the space out otherwise. The hotel has 2 restaurants and a snack lounge and everyone is super helpful. At the cafe I went to buy waters and they told me they can provide ice water cups for free. This was so helpful and a really nice touch. One of the days there was a ton of rain, but all of the indoor hotel activities made up for it! The kiddos enjoyed the arcade, disco dance party, lego build show and tell, story time, and bingo. They didn't want to go back to the room and it was super late in the evening. While it was fairly crowded - and adults can be worse than kiddos at times...the staff handled it well and ensured everyone had a great time. We have now stayed at both the castle and the original hotel, and truly only this hotel a bit more. Highly recommended for a great family vacation/staycation. read more

This was our first family vacation with our daughter who is 17 months old. After looking at airbnbs close to the area, we decided to stay at at the Legoland Hotel and we are absolutely thrilled that we did! Having a small child who still takes a nap during the day, it was incredibly convenient to be able to go to the park in the morning, then back to the hotel for a nap, then go back to the park once nap time was over! The room was clean, the decor was adorable, the pools were the perfect temperature for swimming and my daughter was obsessed with the disco ball in the elevator! This place is designed for kids, while at the same time, also letting the adults have fun too. My husband and I were able to snag some espresso martinis at the mini lounge area while our daughter played with the Legos in the pirate ship in the lobby. We will without a doubt be doing another family vacation here at the hotels on the property. read more

Well, we have stayed here many times over the years but we were disappointed this time. Hallway carpets are filthy. I don't think the elevator floors were cleaned at all during our three day stay. Using the tablet to request towels or to check our AC was a waste if time. Nobody ever showed up unless I happened to see someone or text the number for the hotel wizard. The AC stopped working during our last evening and it was not fixed. Given the heat and humidity in the area, the room was very uncomfortable. Overall the workers seemed very unhappy to be there. Legoland San Diego! Well after 5 nights in their Friends themed hotel and many days in the park there are quite a few things worth reviewing. This was our first trip to Legoland, so everything was hectic and unfamiliar, but after seeing how everything works, I have to say that they have a pretty good system there. And there is A LOT TO DO! Around every corner is another neat thing for kids to do. Well done. So there are two hotels at legoland, the Friend's themed hotel, and the castle hotel. We were in the friends, and they had tons of cool pictures on the walls, see pictures, but also know that the pool at the friends hotel does NOT have a hot tub, and the castle hotel pool DOES have a hot tub. Guests from either hotel are allowed to use pools in both hotels, so that's good. Also the BRICKS restaurant in the Friends hotel is awesome because it's an all you can eat buffet, and they have EVERYTHING kids love and adults too. This is the best option for large families. You simply make reservations for the time you want, either breakfast or dinner. And they have an AMAZING text based room service and hotel housekeeping number you can simply text whatever you need and it appears! The castle hotel restaurant is ok too, but it's MUCH pricier, and there are no refills on the food. We are there with 5 the last night and it was nearly $200, so I highly recommend BRICKS for value. The park was neat, but it filled up super fast. As a hotel guests you can access 45 min early to the attractions but the dumb thing is that many of them aren't open till ten anyway. And after going on ALL the best rides, it it our family's official opinion that the Emmett's flying adventure was the most fun ride, even above the roller coasters. On Saturday I went out briefly to run an errand and when I returned there was not a single parking place available in their lot of many thousands. So I didn't know what to do, I thought the hotel had its own lot, but it doesn't so I went to the valet and I explained the whole thing and they had to valet park me and didn't charge me extra. There was one thing that needed to change and it was bad enough for me that I'm taking a full star off the 5 star review. Just so you understand, this place was nice and I would give them a 5 star review EXCEPT for their TOILET PAPER! It was like 80 grit sandpaper! It was truly a horrific bathroom experience every morning. Painful. If you have a five star Resort and you want five star reviews, you have to include decent and soft toilet paper. So the Legoland vacation was pretty good, except their toilet paper was a PAIN IN THE BUTT!! Overall I recommend Legoland, but I also recommend bringing your own charmin. read more

We had the best time at this hotel! It's incredibly convenient if you're visiting LEGOland, and the kids love it. Check in was easy--there are plenty of kiosks in the lobby! There are a few playing areas as well, which was especially nice for the kiddos after a long drive. They went off to play while my husband checked in, and it was helpful to have those play areas rather than trying to wrangle active kids. The disco elevator is really fun--it plays music (everything from "Everything is Awesome" to "We Are Family" to "YMCA") during the elevator ride, and my kids had a ton of fun busting out their dance moves. Rooms are comfortable and super fun based on the theme you get! Every day, housekeeping provides bottled water as well as juice for the kiddos. Each room has a fridge but no microwave--there's a communal one on the floor by the ice machine. The kids' sleeping area has a bunk bed, including sides that are tall enough to prevent active sleepers from rolling off, as well as a ladder with short distance between rungs. There are also LEGOs for kids to play with in the room, which is especially helpful for when we were packing. The bathrooms are well-designed especially for families with younger ones--the sink is low enough to reach, they provide a stepstool, and the soap as well as towel to dry hands is low enough for littles. The care we were given, the cleanliness of the room, the hospitality service, the food at both hotels, the grounds, and just the overall experience is thus far the best stay we have ever had anywhere. Perfect for families with smaller kids (2-10). If you are looking for a quiet stay for childless adults, this is NOT the hotel you want. But if you're going to Legoland, hopefully you already knew that. My wife and I went with our 4-year-old and 8-month-old. Our 4-year-old LOVED the Adventure themed hotel floor/room, bunk beds, and his own kids area. Our 8-month-old got lots of fun stimulation, tried some new foods (chocolate chip pancakes and cinnamon bread), and got his own pack-and-play. The pool was very kid-friendly and the customer service was exceptional. The staff are so helpful for parents handling small kids. Plus, the elevators have a mini disco party with every ride up and down. Hilariously fun little touch. Again, not a place for childless adults, but it is THE BEST for fun time with the kids. We might just come back for the hotel without going to the park. There is that much to do and explore. read more

Demand for a Full Refund - Failure to Provide Habitable Promised Two(2) Rooms & Unsanitary Conditions As a result, I am requesting a full refund of [$885.55]. I expect confirmation of this refund within 10 business days. The Reservation, Front Desk Manager, Receptionist FAILED to DELIVER and FAILED to maintain the Reception and Lobby area clean, most of all the vents that blow air was so filthy and many children and adult parents or guests were inhaling that bad quality air. The bad part is that I have to be the one to tell the Front Desk Manager who argued with me because she did not want to pay 50% refund, instead she insisted that she can only offer me to get 35% refund, because it is unfair to others. Well, instead of going back and forth with her. I needed to write a formal letter of complaint to the Merlin Entertainment, owner of LEGOLAND so that they maybe aware that nobody seems to POLICE the CLEANLINESS of LEGOLAND these days. would be nice if the price of the room is not that expensive, but it is pricey. 1. Promised Room Not Provided - The 2 rooms good for 10 guests I purchased were not delivered to me by 4pm, they only provided 1 room but is defective due to A/C not working (please see attached PDF Letter) Room# was 3041, I reported. Per the Manager "You won't feel the A/C much if 10 guests are in the room" By 9:40pm, I went to the Receptionist 2 look for Ms. Chrisni Vaca, I asked the manager Chrisni Vaca, for a 50% discount on the 2nd Room that was not delivered on time, but she argued me "Mrs. Porter, I can only give you 35% discount, because it will be unfair to other people that you get 50% and the others are not", when I heard this "I told her in frustration, look I am very tired, we are done here, I need to get some rest, you escalate this however you want, I will do my own case escalation. Before I left the Manager Chrisni Vaca of Legoland Hotel Reception, I asked her to look above her (she looked while I took my camera and took a photo of the blowing out vent that was so filthy, thick dark dirt blowing into the air, inhaled by adult guests and children), I educated her "If you are an efficient Manager, you would do your job to maintain good air quality in this Reception Level Floor, children are playing here and they are inhaling a very dirty air that can cause harm to them", I also took a photo of another vent also with very thick black dirt, looking like black mold. Entered Room#3041. We were sweating, reported again, around 10:30 PM, the receptionist offered a fan. By 11:30pm the fan did not arrive, husband reported we could not sleep due to heat. At 1:00 AM, they moved us to another room with A/C working, kids went to sleep. I was going to insert myself into the bed, bedsheet has several blood stains, I did not sleep until 2:30AM. Frustrated, I demand a 100% REFUND. I refused the 2nd Manager's offer of 50%, because Chrisni Vaca REFUSED, EXHAUSTED me and STRESSED me more by ARGUING at the time I was willing to take 50%. First time here and I would say its not worth the price. Its pretty small and the rooms are pretty dark. The restroom is super cramped and there are dings on the walls. I would think for a resort it would be much nicer. I've paid the same price and received a much better room. The kids did have fun with the entertainment which was a plus. read more

Legoland We stayed at the Legoland Castle hotel in August 2025. The kids were super excited when we checked in. On the wall there was a treasure quest poster and the kids started looking for treasure everywhere in the room. They were looking under the bed, they were looking in the closet and the safe, they were opening all the drawers ... And our four year-old stepped into a drawer of a dresser. The dresser immediately tipped over and the TV on top of it fell down and broke. No one got hurt, but this could have been a tragic event. The hotel management had the foresight to install furniture safety straps to the wall behind the dresser. Ironically, the straps attached to the dresser with Velcro tape and not with actual screws. When the safety manager came to inspect the damage, he shrugged his shoulders and said these are not supposed to be climbed on. His shrewd statement made me believe that this is standard installation procedure, and not an isolated incident. No one ever came later to properly install child safety straps. This was a wonderful hotel, and the kids had a blast, I wish however they would take the safety for our little ones more seriously. read more

It was the first time our family of 5 stayed at the Legoland hotel and we had a blast! We stayed there for four nights in an adventure themed room. We went two days to Legoland and Sealife, and one day we did a hotel day (played in the lego pits, watched the Lego movie, went to the Castle playground and went to the pool). Yes, not gonna lie, the price is steep but the memories are magical! We loved the disco elevator, boogie dance party, the arcade and meeting lego characters in the lobby. Planning on coming back in one or two years. The park is great for kids 3-12. My kids liked the tech coaster, uni kitty drop and ninjago the most. Staff was nice and helpful. read more

We went to Karl Strauss instead for dinner THE UGLY ° Balcony is very very dirty. ° The lobby staff in the morning were pretty useless. - Dude at check-in practically didn't help us at all. ° Charged us a self parking charge even though we via Uber. ° Speaking of which, there's a gate for staff that they used to let Ubers drive through, now they're making them drive all the way around... Just to drive past the gate they would have driven through to drop off. DUMB. - this became an even bigger issue in the morning for pickup. They wouldn't let the Uber driver through either gate. Couldn't get picked up in front of the hotel. Had to walk past the castle hotel, through the parking lot exit, partly without sidewalk, and to a drop-off/pick-up area. FIX YOURSELF, this is WRONG WRONG WRONG. °°Summary°° The hotel is great for kids with early park access, a fun LEGO room, and a cool little treasure hunt that ends with a free LEGO build. The lobby has plenty to keep them entertained, and getting into the park is super easy. But there were a few things that took away from the experience. The pool closes at 8, which doesn't work well when the park closes at 6 and dinner takes a while. We didn't get to swim at all. The on-site restaurants were just okay, so we went off-property instead. The balcony was really dirty, the morning staff wasn't helpful, and the whole Uber situation was ridiculous. Drop-off made no sense, and pickup was a total disaster. Our driver wasn't allowed through either gate, so we had to walk past the castle hotel, through the parking lot, and partly along a stretch with no sidewalk just to get to a random pickup spot. And then we got charged for self-parking on top of it. Completely unacceptable and beyond frustrating. I went here recently for my kids birthday. Check in and parking are easy. Arrived around 11 something and dropped off luggage and checked in. Then we went into Lego land and enjoyed the park before coming back into the park at 3pm to officially get keys and checked the room. Plenty of space for a family of 6. They had a couch that folded out into a bed , bunk bed with trundle, and there was the main bedroom. The decorations were great. The bathroom was adequate. Maybe it could have been designed to fit 2 people. We ate dinner here for buffet and that went well. The food was decent. Just a long wait even with reservation. Still I love the convenience of being able to go to the park and take break in your room. Parking is so close to the hotel as well as so close to the park. Convenient. read more

I really wanted to love this stay, especially since we came last year and had such a great experience, but this visit was honestly really disappointing. I'm a single mom, and I saved up for this trip because my 5-year-old son has been asking to come back all year. We even paid for early check-in so we could enjoy the pool right away, only to arrive and find out the pool at our hotel was closed. We had to walk over to another hotel just to swim, which was frustrating, especially with a young child. We tried again later when it was supposed to be open, and it still wasn't. On top of that, when I asked for an extra towel because my son's was soaked and he was freezing, I was told they couldn't provide one due to limited supply. That was honestly shocking for a hotel at this price point. Another frustrating experience was with a personal item. I accidentally left behind my son's water bottle (a Yeti with his name on it--his favorite). I called right away, and it still took two days for them to locate it. Then I was told it would cost $27 just to mail it back to me, which felt really unreasonable given everything else that went wrong during our stay. The staff was kind, but overall this experience felt disorganized and disappointing, especially for something I saved for and was really looking forward to sharing with my son. Came here for a long weekend with kiddos. Kiddos went with Pirate fully themed room. It was fun. Each floor has its own theme. Pirate sits on the second floor. Loads of legos everywhere. Check in was pretty fast and they were helpful. The resort only has 3 floors and 2 elevators. It is very wide.... Our room sits at the very end to the side of hotel. It was quite a walk to go in and out of the room each day. Fully themed pirate room came with fully decorated doors and walls. They are more quiet and further away from elevators (and more walking of course). Room itself was fun. My little one loved it so much she didn't want to co sleep with me anymore and jump on the bunk bed. Details are everywhere. My bed was comfortable. Rooms are spacious. But it was not quiet and I can hear noises and had some trouble falling asleep. The hotel comes with a pool and a tiny gym. The pool was mostly closed during our stay... so my hope of using pool towels for water park went off. We were supposed to go to castle hotel to get towels but why. I got some extra towels from the hotel and we used them at water park and made sure they all made it back to the room after. Kids enjoyed the farting corner at the ground level next to the elevator. The disco elevator was quite fun. The sound from the octopus at check in area was cool. Breakfasts in the morning was included. Reservation is highly recommended. Wait often time is long. But they are efficient here overall. Buffet was okay. Stay on site was super convenient for us to rest up and wash after water park and go back in. It was a good decision. We would like to try castle hotel next time. We had a great time. read more

service is great. you can chat with them from your phone. I did not like that they changed the Lego policy so that you only get a complimentary lego set in the safe for the first two nights. The hotel is expensive so I do not understand why they cannot afford a $5 lego bag for the kids. breakfast buffet is really good. read more

Stayed for the night on 09/26/25. From the outside the hotel looks nice, but then you get to the inside. When was this place last updated, the 80's? The carpet going towards the rooms look dirty and old. Getting to the room....WOW! WTF is going on inside? Everything looked old, dirty, dingy and dated. Definitely not worth the price they charge for that. It rates 0 out of 5 stars. The staff at the hotel were very nice and welcoming. The breakfast was pretty nice and filling with a decent variety to choose from. They get rated 5 out of 5 stars. The park! We got to enter early and hit a few rides. That was fun as my twin 6-year-olds enjoyed every ride. They even got their faces painted. What was worse than the dirty looking rooms was the barbeque restaurant. For what we got and what we paid was complete BS. Here's what we ordered: one Chicken leg, 2 sausages, 2 kids meals, 2 chocolate milks, one fountain drink, mac & cheese and some pudding dessert my kid wanted. All that and paid just over $105. The chicken leg was bland and dry (very sad). The sausages were the smokehouse (this one was good) and cheese jalapeno (not sure what this was trying to be but wasn't good). How do you mess up Mac & Cheese? Well they did. I rate this restaurant 0 out of 5 stars. I think if I do bring my family here again, I'll have a better plan. Use Legoland for the park itself and stay at an actually good hotel. Maybe even bring some good food into the park (like I saw a bunch of others doing). read more

We were so excited to stay here and it was very disappointing. Where to start.. 1) the rooms were kinda old and dated even tho it's been remodeled 2) water went out for our last day so no running water 3) something wrong with the other hotels restaurant so all the guests from both hotels were at our restaurant, so even tho we had reservations there was a huge line for breakfast and they ended up extending breakfast to 11:30am since they couldn't get everyone in 4) the nightly dance was basically cancelled without notice because Lego master build was onsite borrowing their area, my kids were so sad. This happened for the two nights we were there 5) pirate ship area also closed for maintenance the entire time so they couldn't even play there 6) buffet was so packed with people, it was like eating with a mob. Pretty insane 7) we bought our tickets thru the hotel package and they basically didn't send us our kids tickets so this delayed our early entrance and we couldn't get in the park early even tho we woke up early to wait in line Anyways the hotel experience sucked. On valentines night my little girl lost her favorite stuffy. I went on a 45 min hunt retracing our steps. No one had seen the stuffy. I tried again and found the lovely cleaners had found her! Stayed here last week for a few days. We had the Pirate themed room with a balcony. The room was very nice for the kids, they really enjoyed the treasure chest and all the fun pirate themed decorations. The hotel itself has so many cool things for the children, they had a blast exploring the hotel. We did have multiple issues with the room, including a clogged sink and a water leak falling in the balcony and the soaps on the room were empty. I attempted to get these issues resolved twice, but unfortunately no one came to help and I wasn't trying to make a scene and ruin the trip. The water leak on the balcony made it pretty much unusable, even though I paid extra to get that balcony. The sink was clogged when we got there and it even had little bugs in it, gross. I would not bring my family here again. read more

We loved staying at the Legoland Hotel! There is so much for children to do here. There was an outdoor movie each night, playgrounds, swimming pools, character meet and greets, story time, a dance party every night, various places to eat, a dance party in the elevators, and of course LEGOS! We thoroughly enjoyed our Indiana Jones themed room, and took advantage of all the activities and amenities Legoland Hotel had to offer. The staff was friendly and helpful. Everything was clean. We stayed here for two nights. Check in was a very easy process and there was enough parking for us. We stayed on a Wednesday and Thursday night during the summer so i'm guessing it wasn't as busy but the crowd was a descent size because od the summer. The hotel was decorated very well with plenty of amazing lego statues. We really like to jam to the musing in the elevator. We were on the 3rd floor of the hotel and it was very humid and musty. That smell on the third floor went away the last day. I saw workers steam vac the rug, they must of all smell the same thing. Other than that my kids love the dance, scavenger hunt, pool and buffet. Overall we had a good stay. For the adults the alcoholic beverages average $15 per drink. read more
