Many of the things that the dealer had been "warning" me about turned out to be fictitious. I did go back to the dealer, though, last year to have my battery replaced because it is very difficult to otherwise find a compatible battery that is available locally. No problem with that at the time. But a few weeks ago, I went back again because I noticed that there was a steering problem and needed it to get checked immediately (my regular mechanic books out weeks in advance). The found that a rear shock was broken - fine. But they also told me that my battery was reading low and recommended replacing it. I said, sure, go ahead, YOU just replaced it 6 months ago and it should be fully covered under warranty. They immediately backtracked and muttered something about how the test result must have been from the previous visit (clearly a lie - the previous visit, I came because the battery was DEAD, not low). I asked again when picking up the car about the battery test result, and they again brushed it off and changed the topic. Sorry, but I can't trust this dealer any more, and you shouldn't either.

WARNING WARNING WARNING - Do NOT trust this dealership with your vehicle…read more own a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport (approximately 67,000 miles), which was brought to the dealership for a documented oil consumption issue previously identified by the dealership. The vehicle was placed under an oil consumption test and remained in the dealership's possession for over one month. During the testing period, the vehicle experienced a major engine failure, including multiple warning indicators and confirmed internal engine damage. The vehicle was diagnosed with cylinder damage and internal engine failure. Initially, the dealership attempted to attribute the failure to spark plugs. However, the spark plugs had been replaced by the same dealership approximately 10,000 miles prior, which was documented. Despite this, warranty coverage was initially questioned based on this explanation. The vehicle was later repaired under warranty after further escalation and review. Following the return of the vehicle, I immediately observed that the engine remained excessively loud. I was initially advised that this condition was normal. I returned the vehicle multiple times for further inspection. I was later informed the issue was related to the intake manifold. The dealership stated the manifold was replaced; however, the noise persisted. I was subsequently advised that the manifold had "failed," raising concerns regarding whether the repair was properly completed or accurately diagnosed. After each subsequent visit, additional issues were present that were not previously reported or observed prior to dealership possession, including: * Activation of airbag warning system * Exterior lighting malfunction * Damage to undercarriage plastic components * Improper reinstallation of engine-related components/clips On one occasion, upon immediate pickup, I did not leave the dealership parking lot before the same abnormal engine noise was again clearly present. I was then informed that the vehicle required replacement of calipers, rotors, and brake pads. This was inconsistent with prior documentation indicating only normal brake pad wear. Additionally, I was informed that the vehicle had been driven over 100 miles while in the dealership's possession. Throughout the course of service, I experienced inconsistent communication, lack of adequate assistance regarding towing and rental support, and conflicting statements regarding loaner vehicle availability. A service advisor was initially dismissive and unhelpful when assistance was requested.

The service took two hours to accomplish. It was a bit longer than what I was expecting for having a reserved time, but I understand due to the day being a Saturday. There was complimentary coffee and snacks while I waited, and the lobby and waiting area were clean. Though it felt by design that the dealership was in the same building with signs to tell you that you could get more for a trade-in due to the market. It can be annoying since I just got the new car last year. But there weren't any pushy sales people there to sell you a newer car. The service was good. My oil change was free, and the tire rotation wasn't included in the deal of my new car. I also didn't get any pushy upsells of maintenance, which is good. But recommending this place for general car services, I'm not sure about that. I only went due to the free oil change and 8,000-mile inspection. You might be better off going to a regular mechanic. If you have an older and potentially run down car, I can see traps that could have you in a spot that you can be pressured into buying a newer car.

And I don't trust the…read moreservice department did a full and thorough inspection of the vehicle before I purchased it since I'm already having issues with it. During the buying process my salesman was back and forth between me and another customer at the same time instead of focusing on me and closing my deal, they are obviously short staffed, the sales manager filled in for my salesman while he was assisting another customer which is unacceptable. Also they were very misleading about discounts and incentives before I got there and they also said the car was cleaned and ready to be shown just to lure me into to the dealership to make a quick sale on a new trade in. I drove 2 hours and When I got there the car was filthy and they tried to offer a discount off the retail value of the car and not the listing price which is foolery. I came in on a Friday and left a down payment and was told the vehicle would be detailed and ready on Monday, I sent over my documents ahead of time and was told that when I come back on Monday the rest of the process should only take 1 to 2 hours in fact we were there for 5 hours which is ridiculous. While I was at the dealership waiting I had to take a cloth and clean the areas that the detailing department did not clean SMH. The rims were dirty the center console had garbage in it The seats were still dirty etc...I also requested information in regards to the lifetime power train program which kia offers but they never offered that as an option I had to inquire. The salesman and sales manager explained the details of the program and provided me with iterature and when I requested enrollment documentation they said I would get it through finance and when we finally got to finance a staff member said that the program no longer existed so obviously staff is not on the same page and the program was advertised so it should be honored. Also my salesman never took the time to show me how to setup Kia Connect for my vehicle which was an important feature that should have been explained and shown to me when I purchased the vehicle. And Since I've had the car I've had some issues with it and I have tried contacting my salesman who won't respond to me. I've also tried contacting the sales manager and the finance person who won't forward me my contract as well. I Also requested the GMs contact info and no one seems to want to provide me with his information. It seems they are withholding the info from me. Unhappy customer and it seems like I'm going to have to pay an in person visit and raise hell! I wouldn't recommend doing business with this dealership ever!

Car shopping (i.e. dealing with car salesmen) is by far one of…read moremy most detested activities and I had spent a lot of time looking at used cars online before deciding on the one at Kelly. The salesman, Anthony Jayetileke, was decent enough - I went in knowing what I wanted and how much I was willing to spend and made it known, and I didn't get any bad vibes from him, there was no attempt to upsell, etc. The only slight issue was with the finance guy: 1. I waited for over an hour that night to speak with him. I'm usually pretty patient and understanding, but that was excessive and a bit shady when he was suddenly immediately available when I finally said I needed to leave because I hadn't been home at that point in 11 hours and needed to let my dog out. He then had me out of there in 10 minutes, after he had spent over an hour with one single customer before me? Sure, ok. 2. During that hour+ of time to kill, I looked up the used car loan rates at my bank (which I had told them I wanted to use for financing). He tried to tell me he got me the best interest rate through a different bank and when I told him what my bank's rate was, he changed his tune and conceded I was correct. Smarmy, though I feel that's standard for the business. Overall a good experience - I feel like I got a good car for a decent price, and aside from the attempt by the finance guy with the higher interest rate, I don't feel like I was taken advantage of. I would recommend them to someone looking for a used car.

I've been a customer of this place for over a decade. Today something unconscionable happened, so…read moreI'm going to expose a practice I didn't know existed. Do not let them play this trick on you. They'd been emailing me incessantly for months to get my car inspected. Money's so tight that I literally had to plan it around paycheck timing. Just yesterday my water heater burst all over my basement because it had corroded in less than 5 years. The plumber told me that my well water is too acidic. Needless to say, trying to get an impromptu loan for a water heater was traumatizing in and of itself. I got a high-interest loan for $2K. But I'd made this appointment for my inspection and I didn't want to be a no-show. Someone from Kelly had told me to print up an inspection coupon from online so I did. I found one for a $49 inspection and I could choose 3 free services with that coupon. So I had my neighbor print it up (I have no printer) and I drove there, still upset about how this water heater situation is going to make my life hell. I got there early. I'd made this appointment over a week ago. This guy, Anthony, motioned me over to his desk and I gave him the coupon. He asked which 3 free services I'd chosen. I told him the tire rotation, brake check, and a "check engine light scan." I also said that I would like my oil changed. That wasn't on the list, and I didn't know if it was something they'd look at during an inspection. (clearly not a car girl.) He was practically giddy. He added, "By the way, your state inspection is a free service. I do have to tell you that." That was my first red flag, because why in the ACTUAL F did i need to spend $45 for a free inspection? Even their coupon states that the car inspection is covered. Shysters. The second red flag was that he said it would take an hour and a half, when they'd told me it would take 1/2 an hour when I made the appointment, because I wanted to know whether I needed to be dropped off or wait. I'd chosen to wait, even though I had to take off work for that hour during a time it's hard to take off work. Two hours later, Anthony slithers up to me in their miserable waiting room where they blast some cheesy lifeguard soap opera for hours straight. It was physically jarring. He tells me that the mechanic found something... and that he couldn't pass me for an inspection. Keep in mind that my car has less than 23K miles on it and I've had it for 8 years. The brakes work perfectly, probably because I drive like an old lady though I'm not. I was just taught to maintain my car. I'd also recently had my tires inadvertently checked because I'd driven over a nail and had to replace a tire. ($95 for Progressive to send someone to put a donut on at 9PM at night, and then $200 for the regular tire replacement. Still bummed about that as well, but at least it seemed fair.) Anthony says that he doesn't know how I got to Kelly Service safely since I had no brake pads. My brakes don't even squeak. But I'm a chick in there alone and maybe look like a sucker. He told me that my dipstick was bone dry and no one could believe my car is running. Even between oil changes, I know how to check my oil. I had oil, it was just dark and I knew that meant it needed to be changed. My neighbor changed it 4K miles ago. Still, I had come into Kelly for a $45 inspection with 3 "free" services. Criminal. I thought my big splurge was the oil change. Anthony proceeds to scare the living hell out of me with "no one can believe you got here in one piece." He said I needed front brakes and the bill would be $363. At this point, my eyes have filled up. I asked him if I could leave and think about how to pay for the brakes. He said that he "couldn't" advise me on that. Sheer panic. I wondered if the water heater loan people could add $363. I thought I couldn't drive home safely and I was already freaked out about how late I was for my job. I told him I felt like I didn't have a choice. I finally just acquiesced and then tried to think about who could pick me up from there because I'd have to leave the car until I could pay for the new front brakes. I called my neighbor and he told me he could take me home. He was 30 minutes away, but he told me to call the loan people in the meantime just to see. I did and they added the $363.00. I sat at Kelly Service for another 2 hours feeling the weight of the world. Finally Anthony approached me and knelt down next to the miserable chair I'd been sitting in for hours, feeling an unbearable anxiety. He gave me a bill for $568.00. I had come into this place in good faith, thinking I was going to get a $45 inspection plus whatever an oil change costs. I got paid yesterday, so i was okay with possibly paying $100 for an inspection and oil change. I wouldn't even have known about the coupon if I hadn't been told by Kelly Services to print it up. The first words out of my mouth were, 'How could you do this to me?" Unconscionable shysters.
