I was so disappointed with my experience at Lehrer's Fireplace today. In the past, I had them install a very high-priced fireplace and do annual service on the fireplace after the install and was always pleased. Today, however; I went in asking forassistance finding a part for my fire pit. I didn't have any information on it since I have recently purchased the home. The woman behind the desk replied that I hadn't bought it there so she couldn't help me. She said that the people who would know about it were on vacation when I asked her when they would be back she said, it didn't matter because they wouldn't be able to help me because I didn't buy it there. Fortunately, a woman was checking out at the same time. She apologized for interrupting and commented that the part that I was looking for might very well belong to a certain brand. She also suggested two names where I might be able to find the part. One was Christy Sports. I left the store and went to Christy Sports. When I walked in the clerk commented that while they didn't sell that brand, they would certainly be happy to help me either find parts or purchase a replacement item. Certainly a contrast to my experience at Lehrer's. I have since told several friends who have commented that, if they were me, they would never return to Lehrer's Fireplace and Patio and, I have to agree. This clerks unwillingness to assist a customer resulted in losing a purchase and, more than that, losing a lifetime customer. I will certainly be willing to share my experience and refer customers to Christy Sports and away from Lehrer's. I hope "that the people who are on vacation" will read this and, hopefully they have a different philosophy however, I will never return to know that. If you want service and you have purchased from Lehrer's, I'm sure they will help you however, I would never count on them for customer service if you haven't purchased from them before. I have an old electric fireplace, which has discontinued putting out heat. Matt at Lehrer's is working with me and the manufacturer to solve the problem. My correspondence with him indicates that he is working hard and covering all the bases in my mind to get results. I am totally happy with his efforts and enjoy working with him. We've had a gas insert fromLeher's for over 10 years and never had a problem with it until today The remote went bad. I took it over to Matt at Lehers and he showed me how to get another remote working for us. Really disappointed by Lehrehs. It's very important for us to shop local and support local businesses. After many visits we decided to purchase a $2,300 fire bowl plus $150 delivery. That morning, I looked online and saw the major eretailers were offering the same item for $150 cheaper and free shipping. I reached out to Lehrehs to price match or offer a competitive price and they wouldn't budge. Not even a little. I then called 2 local competitors and they both not only price matched but gave a better price than online and gave free delivery! So we purchased from a nearby store. I really wanted to support Lehrehs but there's no reason to be unreasonable with pricing. They could have had that sale the same day. read more

We have some old fireplace gas logs that are no longer functional and we were shown some remote control gas logs that put off a good amount of heat. I was told by the Mike scheduler that my insert fireplace would be installed today. I waited all afternoon & aBout 4:20 a truck shows up. They wanted to put the 6 boxes of the insert in my living room until they could I stall it. Total lack of communication. The driver told me they would "try to get me on the schedule". Now I have fireplace insert pieces in my garage for whenever they can "get me on the schedule" I was told I was on the schedule today! Come to find out the earlier job took longer so I was bumped off the schedule, without so much as a courtesy phone call just parts. I would not be so annoyed if there was communication & customer 1st or 2nd or even 3rd. read more

We had Lehrer demo an old 30 year old gas fireplace and install a new high-efficiency gas Kozy Heat Springfield 36 fireplace. Fantastic job with the entire sales to install process. Although fireplace demo can be very messy, they were careful to minimize dust and debris. Install was smoother than expected. I highly recommend Lehrer's Fireplace & Patio. My husband and I just purchased a townhome in Roxborough and I went to Lehrer's to purchase a gas insert fireplace. Keith helped me and he was terrific. It turned out the one I purchased wasn't going to fit in the existing cutout space where an old wood burning fireplace is. I can't change the framing area because it's a townhouse and change would've required going into the outside of the building which is not allowed :(. I called Matt as soon as the Contractor informed me of the issue, which happened to be on the day of delivery! Matt was totally on it and changed the fireplace to one that will fit. I'm so grateful to him for working with me to make it happen. Their showroom (I was at the Highlands Ranch location) is top notch, just like Keith, Matt and Mike who together made a situation that could have been very messy get done without a hassle of any kind. I have bought everything from patio furniture (O.W. Lee wrought iron) to grills (first PGS, then a Big Green Egg), to two fireplaces for two different houses (Mendota) and Lehrer's is the place to go. You can't beat their customer service when it comes to any of their products they sell, they know their stuff. Yes they take a long time to get a hold of someone and sometimes they take a few days to call back but they are busy. Wouldn't you want to do business with someone who is busy? Like eating at a restaurant with no line? Yes the convenience is good to have no wait, but is the product and service going to be good? Ill go with the busy guys any day! Why doesn't anyone know about fireplaces, installation requirements, etc.? The sales person that I spoke to really didn't know much about the products she was selling. I really do feel sorry for the employees that work there but do not obtain the training they need. I also feel kind of bad about posting this review but it really was a waste of my time and I hate to see others do the same. read more

After receiving the cost and looking elsewhere no one could beat the price given by Lehrer's. We purchased the insert and a new mantel and over the next several months waiting for other construction on the fireplace had the occasion to call Matt Short and his fellow employees several times. Apparently the only person who can answer a question is the owner, and you have to wait 3 weeks for that! I wanted to convert my 30 year old existing wood burning fireplace to a gas insert. I had a concern about the orignal firebox. I have the name and model of my existing firebox. After trying to explain my situation and even showing them pictures they still had no clue about what I was talking about but, they were still willing to sell me an insert. I asked if it would be possible to speak to an installer. I was told no, they work out of a different location. I asked if someone could call me, they said no but, I could have the owner come out for a free estimate...... In 3 weeks. I thanked them and left. I then called the another location and that salesman was worse. I explained things again and he abruptly said "I have no clue, I'm in sales not an installer." They are happy to sell me a $5,000+ fireplace insert but are unwilling to help answer my questions. What burns me (pun intended) is the type of fireplace I have is extremely common in my community and I'm certain they have run into these in past. All I want, is to find out up-front if this is a problem or not and how much more it might cost for installation. I for one wil be taking my current and future business elsewhere. read more
