Great ambiance, relatively decently priced & good food! The service was a tiny bit slow, but overall, give the area, they don't up charge you despite the touristy surrounding, and don't force a service charge (tip) on your bill. Try the Venison pie, an odd choice for pie but very delicious. Also, they pour your drinks (such as my Jameson on the rocks) generously. read more

First pub we saw in the Piccadilly area, London. Decided to give it a try and so far, the food is good. Nice setting and clean too. We had some beer/ale. Ordered a Fish & Chips and a Steak & Ale pie. Would recommend this place. read more

This pub was directly across the road from the other pub that I had visited - the Glassblower, so it was pretty convenient with regards to my Monopoly board experience (and there are actually a decent number of pubs around the Soho area). The problem was that there wasn't all that much about this pub that really makes me remember it all that much. In fact there is so little that even looking at the photos didn't bring back any memories - all I can remember is going in here, ordering a beer, sitting down and drinking it, and then heading off elsewhere. Okay, it wasn't hugely crowded on a Sunday afternoon, but in reality that was probably the only thing that I can say about it. Sure, it has a dining room upstairs, and the staff were okay, but other than that this place wasn't all that memorable. read more

Great cocktails. Staff is very friendly but you need to get used to ordering everything at the bar. I tried my first London fish and chips here. Ordered a stripper martini, and a voliet spritz both were good spring drinks. Would recommend this place for a work lunch or after work drinks. read more

Popped in for a quick lunch while shopping on Regent street. Tons of pubs in the area but this one had good reviews so we came in. It was confusing on if you sit first or order first and we sat for a bit before realized ing you go up to the bar to order food. Got the fish and chips with peas and it was filling. Nothing out of this world but worth a stop for a quick weekday lunch. Prob would go to the Warwick if I was fancying a beverage with my meal. read more

AVOID! We stopped in for a quick bite when passing back through Leicester Square after a day of walking around. Ordering is a bit confusing, up at the bar for everything considering the number of waitstaff walking around. The staff seemed more interested in talking to each other than to helping people, including chatting up people who were smoking in the doorway of the bar, with the open door. When I asked them to close the door to stop the smoke from coming into the restaurant, they waitress came back and relayed that her manager said it would be bad for business to shut the door. !! The soup I ordered (mushroom) was cold. They rake it in because they're near a tourist center, not because of the quality or the ambiance or care taken for customers. Again, avoid. read more

This pub had a bunch of suits standing around during HH time... all mighty fine looking to this American girl!! Definitely a good place to rub shoulders and grab a pint (or in my case, a glass of rose). Can be difficult to get a seat or table, but with everyone else standing around... Service was quick and efficient as there were three bartenders to serve the masses. read more

Monopoly Pub Crawl - Stop #23 - Vine Street (Orange) We were so close to the end, we could taste it and the pubs were coming fast & dirty (or maybe we were just dirty). There was no time to rest and Grant's Tom pushed us steadily onward. So we crashed into the Leicester Arms on Glasshouse St. Now there isn't anything wrong with the Leicester Arms and in fact it's a alright place for a pint or some cheap filling food. My problem with it is that it's trying to be too much like the American ideal of a pub (a flashy place for a bottled beer and large tvs for the game) and less like the traditional British boozer that I love. Still, a matter of personal preference I suppose. Most days, this place is likely filled with office crowds and to be honest even on a Saturday you can expect a slightly older (mid-20s-early 30s) group dressed up for a night out and just sneaking in a pre-game pint. It's very much geared to serving large numbers which makes it an excellent crawl stop but that' s probably the only time I'll ever go in. The staff is friendly though they are missing the quality banter you get from the barman who has been pulling pints for the better part of 20 years. read more

Very nice and clean! Great place to get out of the rain. Definitely better to eat upstairs. My son loved the venison pie and, after eating, said this was the best restaurant in London so far. Sunday roast was good, fish and chips good, too. (The Hunters chicken and cole slaw was inedible, though.) Waiter boy upstairs was really sweet. read more

Solid if uninspiring pub just off Regents Street and near to Piccadilly Circus. It seemed to be the least packed of the pubs in that area, which can be an attraction if you want to sit down. A couple of cask ales as well as the usual suspects. Food looked ok though didn't try it. Would visit again. friendly service. There are two upstairs floors (stairs really steep so watch that pint). I went to the top floor and there were loads of spare tables despite it being the evening. Great place to sit by the window and look down at the passing crowds. read more

This is the worst place and very rude people. We went in at 335 and sat down upstairs for a meal. The guy behind the bar said our kitchen is closed- didn't you see the sign you ignored. We open at 5. Beer selection had several well known names like Amstel, Heineken. etc. A bit disappointing that there weren't any traditionally British beers on tap. the leicester arms is dear to my heart because it is so close to piccadilly that it has become a common place to meet. it is a little 3 minutes walks from the tube station but is located in one of those quiet streets far from the circus' crowd, just at the entrance of Soho and China Town. we love meeting there as it is convenient and it is not really colonised by tourists (or if it is then they usually stay polite and discreet). the prices are ok, well it is still the centre but they serve good beers (nothing exciting), good food, I wouldn't really recommend the wine because it is a bit too modern for my taste but it is only my opinion - I just think that rosé shouldn't taste of bublle gum. most of the times when I went there with some friends (hardly ever on week ends but who would want to do that), we had seats and were served in no time. the atmosphere is also friendly and it is very close to all the clubs and theatres. there is also tons of restaurants all around so it is nice for the "apéritifé for example. read more
