This is a long overdue review. We were looking for a rental for the month of June, 2025, and stopped by Leighton where we met Mike. We did not rent immediately from him, but Karen ended up calling us and after we told her what we needed, she came up with a solution. During the course of our stay, we had a couple of problems...called Leighton, spoke with Mike and both were immediately resolved. They didn't hesitate to replace a microwave and thereafter a gas grill. We think Leighton Real Estate is definitely a 5 star company and with the leadership of Karen all things will be addressed. I was jerked around and misquoted three different prices... then when we finally settled on the original promised price (before they hiked it up 40% from listed price) I was told it was booked within three minutes of their offer email... then they hung up on me when I called to ask what happened?! We have stayed at Ocean Edge Resorts twice now with the assistance of Leighton Realty. Both times we were very happy with our accommodations and had a great time. Ocean Edge is a large community of varying condos Located in Brewster. If you stay on the south side of the main road you have to pay the town for a pass to access the beaches. Ocean Edge will sell you one at cost and that saves a drive to the town hall. I did more research this time and found out that there are many public parking areas next to a variety of beautiful beaches in Brewster. Both times the condos were clean and well supplied. We fortunately did not encounter any noisy neighbors either time. Ocean Edge has introduced a fee for a weekly pool pass. We bought it but if we go again I might skip it because we spent most of our time at the beach and only swam a couple times in the pools so we definitely did not get our moneys worth. If you do get it you should know you are allowed to swim in the pools on both the north and south sections. The first time we stayed the only problem we had was a dirty barbeque grill which I did not say anything about. When we booked the second time I mentioned the dirty grill to Leighton Realty and at check in time they provided me with a brand new grate for the grill so I was impressed with that. The staff at Leighton Realty were very friendly and helpful both over the phone and in person. They didn't hassle us with unwanted sales pitches or anything like that. We did enjoy looking at a few condos that had open houses going on and it was very enjoyable although we weren't seriously shopping. It would be a beautiful place to retire. The southern part is built around an incredible golf course that you can see from the roads as you drive around. I think it was built by Jack Nicklaus and it is fantastic looking. If you want to play it you have to rent a house that has access to it. Same thing with the pools. Make sure the unit you are renting is entitled to access if you are planning to buy the pool pass. We usually travel 1,000 miles or more on our summer vacations but we have found the cape to be a true getaway located much closer to home. The entire family loved it there at Ocean Edge and I'm sure we will return. Leighton Realty makes the whole process of planning and renting super easy. Their website is well set up and it makes it very easy to compare different units with pictures, prices and accommodations. We picked our last unit in a matter of minutes and had a contract in a day or two. I highly recommend both Ocean Edge Resorts and Leighton Realty. read more

We have been visiting the Cape for over 30 years and this is our favorite place by far!! The Manager Jackie, and her staff are the nicest, efficient and helpful people you will ever meet!! The units, grounds, pool and parking lot are supremely kept. Oceanside maintains and follows the occupancy rules set forth by the town of Dennisport. This explains how top notch everything is there!! The location and view is fantastic! We feel so comfortable, welcome and safe at Oceanside. I look forward to 3 weeks vacation here next year!! read more

Poorly managed, dirty house. Broken shower doors almost fell on my child. Front door rotted and full of ants.

My family stayed in one of the Yarmouth rentals, and it was a disastrous experience. To arrive at the rental, we had to drive down a long, uneven dirt road. This was the first sign that things might not go so well. Now, a dirt road is not that bad, but no disclosure about the dirt road to make sure we arrived with appropriate vehicles is not great either. Having arrived at the rental, there was only one word to describe the home: filthy. A coat of dust permeated every surface. Encrusted soap and grime met us in the bathrooms. And, to boot, there was dirty laundry stuck in the bed covers. Things were getting worse, but filth could be dealt with. What could not be dealt with was the faulty plumbing and the mice. When I contacted the rental agency regarding the problems, I thought that I had entered into the twilight zone. Their response: "It's just condensation. You have to expect mice in Cape Cod." I am not an idiot. I can recognize the difference between a leak and condensation. And, mice might be expected outdoors in Cape Cod, but certainly not in a $1800 rental. It took four phone calls before the rental agency brought in a plumber. They supposedly also brought in an exterminator while we were out, but the ever-present mice make me question that statement. Honestly, if the management wasn't so lackluster (i.e., described the property accurately, took care of the property's upkeep, and responded in a friendly and prompt manner to concerns), this could be a fine rental. It wouldn't be a great one. Two of the four rooms were incredibly small, and the kitchen was poorly stocked with the basics. But, it was a nice location, so it could be a fine rental. read more

I worked with the Leighton realty to find a summer rental at Ocean Edge in Brewster. They answered all the questions I had about the rental process. Our family is very happy with Ocean Edge and look forward to going back again. We have a jeep and there are a couple of beaches that we were able to drive out on to in the next town over. That was a lot of fun! Overall the trip was fun and the place we stayed at was perfect for our needs! read more

This was the best experience I ever had renting on the Cape. The house was great, the people at Leighton were amazing. They were patient and responded immediately when we thought there may have been a problem with the stove, it turns out there wasn't, they came checked on it, followed up the next day, & even had the owner check on us! Everything went smoothly and was as they said it would be. I would definitely rent with them again!!!! read more

Stayed at a rental property on ocean edge in Brewster in August. The property was a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom and stated to have 2 ACs. On our arrival, the TV did not work, the condo hadn't been cleaned in ages, It was dusty with spiders and spider webs. When we called the rental agency, their reply was the owners don't use our cleaners but the owners cleaner was willing to come out and clean "specific areas" only (how about the whole condo). There was dirty cutlery and dishes.... There was 1 AC in the master bedroom and 1 de-humdifier in the living room (clearly not the 2 ACs stated). Clearly the owners are at fault but Leighton should take responsibility and check the properties they help rent out. As a consolation for these incoveniences... Leighton gave a $10 dunkin donuts gift card (really) and quickly changed the listing from 2 AC to 1 AC for the Rental Property #: CH0259 For a total of $1700/ week.... this was high-way robbery. read more

Our family stayed at several Ocean Edge Resort condos for our family reunion. They were all beautifully decorated and maintained. The grounds were gorgeous with beautiful views of the golf course and woodlands. I especially took delight in all the lush blue hydrangeas throughout the grounds. read more

We spent a two week vacation on the Cape Cod in one of the vacation rentals of Leighton Realty in the summer. We just heard back from the staff that the owner of the rental found the stuffed animal of our 3 year old daughter. I was so surprised about the the customer service of them actually contacting us and remembering that we mentioned at checkout that stuffed animal. They said they will ship it to Spain right away.
