My friends and I had a great time here! Good music, a functional computer software system, and attentive staff. There are a wide range of ball sizes and finger hole sizes. The group beside us had bumpers up for kids, and one kid threw the ball on top of the bumper twice, causing it to go down. leisure lanes is ridiculous.... the respect from the staff is at an all time low. 22 years old and can't buy a beer, pointing laughing from the bar over poor scores on the screen, it's a family run business and it's quite evident that they run a bowling alley because they are uneducated and can't do anything else to make a living other then that or a convince store. You would be way better off going up the road to nebs or playdium! I repeat don't go here! The only thing that matters to them is the league and that's literally the only thing keeping them a float! read more

We came here for the rock and roll cosmic bowl tonight. The selection of music was not bad and the shoes doesn't seem super old. You can also buy food and alcohol. Overall not a bad experience. read more

I think the last time I bowled was when I was eight!... and I've never played 10-pin! I came here with a group of friends on a Saturday night for their 'Rock and Bowl'. The lights were black, the music was loud and we had a blast! When you split the cost of the lanes with two other couples, it makes for a cheap fun night. It was around hallowe'en so there was a lot of Monster Mash and Michael Jackson Thriller type music. The lanes were packed, as I'm sure they always are, and overall it was just a great time. Rock and Bowl is from 9pm - 11pm and they announce a 'special' that gave us the chance to come up and pay an additional $20 if we wanted to continue for another hour. It was a 'the offer isn't going to last long so get it while you can' typen of deal. I was so surprised at how fast the time had gone... only to realize that it hadn't. We were only an hour in. We still had another hour to go! A few people fell for it but honestly, two hours was enough. I'm knocking them down a star for their trickery! I had a great time but one thing I did learn was, I'm really really not good at bowling. :( read more

Went here for Rock n Bowl for a friend's birthday. Not a lot has changed in many years except one thing...The monitors are all touch screen and you can take your picture to be put on the scoreboard. We had fun with that! You can even message other lanes. The one part I felt was lacking was the 'Rock' part of Rock n Bowl. I remember going to these nights as a teenager, the music was great and it was a lot of fun. I feel like they purposely had mellow music to keep the bowling hooligans calm. They played a couple current top 40 songs and lots of 90's music you couldn't dance to. Everything else looks the exact same as it did the last time I was here 5 years ago. I found the staff here to be really rude just in general interactions. I was not drinking but a few of my friends (well into their 30s) were and the staff was watching them like a hawk and looking for a problem. They perform random bag checks and will confiscate water bottles- which is fine because that is a rule and I also have my smart serve and worked where this was a rule, but the staff is extremely rude about it even if you're sober person who doesn't even care about the water bottle...just their aggressive and unprofessional attitude is so off-putting and not necessary. If you look at their Facebook page and see how staff responds to negative reviews it is very unprofessional...I love bowling but I would never have my birthday (or especially a family members birthday) there because the staff has such a negative reputation that I wouldn't want that around. They are one of the only bowling places in Durham so it is VERY apparent they do not worry about customer service. read more

A fun place to go with a group. I went on a Thursday night and there were about 5-6 groups of people there but there are lots of lanes so there is no need to worry about not getting one. The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. They serve food and drinks, both alcoholic and non alcoholic. Just make sure to not bring anything too expensive with you as you have to leave your coat, bag and shoes at your table and the table is not in complete view from where you sit while playing. read more

They denied us a cup of tap water! They were not busy we were the only ones ordering food yet despite the fact that we purchased food they would not give us a cup of water. We were told it was to expensive to give us a paper cup of water. Hope it was worth it to deny us a human basic right to save a penny. Now we will not be back and we will tell everyone we know how little you care about your paying customers. You lost us hope it was worth it! read more

Classic 70's bowling alley with very little updates since those classic 70's years! That said the staff are really helpful and friendly and the bowling lanes are great - score system even measures your ball velocity, which if you're a 43 year old Dad, basically gaurantees you will need to have physio the next day. Yes there is a 70's bar and lounge and you can buy tall boy cans on special certain times and after 11 pm til close (1 or 2 am) you can bowl unlimited for $35. Go get your strike on! Literally the worst place to bowl. I haven't been bowling before and we accidentally hit the bar that re set the lane once. A man came running over and screamed at us telling us if we did it again we would have our lane shut down. He was extremely disrespectful. Then for a second time my friend accidentally hit it again the man came back yelled, then shut down our lane. I explained to the staff that it was an accident and the elderly women was extremely rude. If you would like verbal abuse and horrible customer service this is your place. read more

I'm a big fan of Leisure Lanes. Great for going in groups of couples, especially the Ladies Night Thursdays. The $2/game Monday night deal is also very good. It's nice to sip a tall boy between frames. I enjoy the music selection as well. Only drawback is that it's sometimes too popular! And it's not cool when teenagers sneak booze in. I know I used to do stuff like that, but for god's sake, learn to sneak it in so it's not obvious! read more

My daughter and her friends went on a Friday night all In there 20s. They were treated poorly by the bartender every time they ordered a drink . All of them well over age. But that was ok. apparently the waitress found an empty behind where my daughter and her friends were playing (along with food dishes ) which was not theirs They told the waitress they were all drinking tall boys and not the small can in question. The waitress went on by saying no outside drinks they had to close Down the lane. Which was very upsetting to a group just enjoying a Friday night . Had to leave. They didn't bring outside drinks and I could go on and on about the harassment they received ordering drinks with being carded. Which they did not mind each time .Not sure why this group was targeted but I have known these young adults for years just a great group of people. Shame on Leisure lanes for assuming it was the young ones that brought in outside liquor and if you have no proof then you should not kick a group Of paying customer out.. read more

The staff was awful to two friends and I during a night out bowling. We accidentally hit the bar that resets the pins and were kicked out. I would highly recommend not coming here unless you want to waste your money. read more

i always have a great time here with my friends or my boyfriend. Ladies nights are free! (Thursdays) Prices are much better than at NEB's- here they are I believe $5 a game. I believe Tuesdays are half price or something like that. They sell fast food too, I like to get their french fries. I only wish that they would play requested songs. They play pop music of today and some from the 80's/90's. A lot of people come here for dates. read more

If you want to save yourself from being robbed and treated disrespectfully DO not go here!!! The manager who owns this place is totally unprofessional and down right rude! I am a mother I NEVER go out! The one time I decided to go bowling with my friend who is also a mom the worst thing imaginable happens to us! Firstly we started off having A great time bowling and getting a couple strikes, as we were about to finish up our game I went to put on my boots... Come to find out that I had been robbed because someone stole ONE boot , stole my 250$ set of car keys, my perfume, and took a bite out of my Mac lipstick (guess someone was hungry) now while my friend went into the washroom a group of girls strangled her by her throat and unfortunately because I had not spoken to anyone on either sides of the lane I could not figure out who would have done this!!! Needless to say the manager really didn't have any concern for his customers safety nor did he care that someone had stolen my items. There is absolutely no responsibility taken for this incident and I know for a fact I was minding my own business and had no issues with anyone there, we did however end up finding my one boot in the snow outside so thankfully I was able to leave this horrible bowling alley. And needless to say nothing was resolved and the manager had no intention of helping me find my items or even reimburse me for my lost possessions. Long story short I am going to sue this company and specifically this manager who did nothing to help or was even at the minimum courteous whatsoever. I've been going to Leisure Lanes well, gee, probably since the 1980's. It's a real traditional Canadian bowling lane, packed with 5-pin and 10-pin lanes, a state-of-the-art ball return mechanism, a classy bar and grill... But all of these things fade into the distance when you shine a light on the customer service. Now I may be dating myself here, but I've been blessed with the finest treatment since I first marched in with my ball Bessy in probably '82. And tonight I was pleased to find out that very same tradition stands today. A fine young lad in a black polo shirt, some modest scruff, a set of teeth that'd knock your boots off your feet, and a heart for customer satisfaction came up to me during my game with my wife and cheered me on. The jovial lad stuck by me when I was down 40 points and motivated me to unabashedly crush three f--cking strikes in the face of mounting failure. My wife could not handle the heat and cowered with her athletic impotence in the corner. Thank you, young man, for your support... Leisure Lanes, so long as the tradition of great customer service like the kind espoused tonight, I'll be back. And this reinvigoration of patronage will mean next time, I'm bringing my friends, too. read more

Was there tonight and was threatened to be thrown out. I went to the bar to get a beer for my fiancé (who is over 19) and was asked if I was driving tonight which I replied no. She came up to my fiancé and demanded Id which I understand and when she found out we were both of age threatened to throw us both out because I didn't specify it was hers and bring her id up in the first place (which I do believe is illegal to do). I would understand if she was nice about it and said to do this next time but to threaten to throw us out was appalling so we went to the amazing and helpful staff at the front desk and they refunded the rest of the hour we had left and went on our way. read more

There's a reason North End Bowl is way better! I was APPALLED by the lack of customer service AND courtesy at Leisure Lanes in Oshawa during my last visit. I had purchased some food (and paid for bowling) and when I went back to the counter minutes later to ask for a glass of water they told me you could only purchase bottles. I explained that this was a human rights violation and illegal. Especially if you serve alcohol at your establishment, you are OBLIGATED to give free tap water. Then she says "if you go to the movies and ask for water it's not free" to which I laughed replying "yes it absolutely is free because my wife and I get it all the time!" (Both landmark AND Cineplex in small cups). I told her that she could charge for the cup and she said 2$ which is price gauging and ridiculous (2$ is the price of pop she said so she was simply being rude and condescending). I had a terrible experience here. I went with a group of my friends and we are all 19 and older. There was a group of drunk teenagers beside us clearly not of age. The bartender was serving them alcohol. They decided to kick these teenagers out and us as well. I asked for our money back and I got no refund because the owners accused us of being friends with them. The owners are very unprofessional and rude. Haven't bowled in years and thought this was a fun place to bring our family for an evening. Bought a Starbucks coffee on the way since I wouldn't be joining in the bowling with our large group but wanted to enjoy watching from the sidelines. Was immediately approached by a mans telling me I couldn't bring my coffee in and had to drink it outside. Because our kids were excited to play, I had to sit in the car and drink my tea alone while they played. I realize that they have to make money on food and drinks, but our large group paid a lot of money to play, and before coming I had no idea this wasn't allowed. So I don't want to go somewhere where I am excluded for wanting to enjoy a good cup of coffee while watching my children. I realize that this might be a fun place to bring my family, but I won't return because of this. There are other places we can go for entertainment where I won't be pounced on for drinking my coffee.
