Just tried The Crooked Uncle, was very pleased. Had to get it delivered because of the pandemic. Gave them a call, they were very friendly and organized while taking the order. Tried a number of things, including wings, taquitos, nachos and their Philly Steak sandwich. All were great. I was pleasantly surprised how good the Philly was (not a traditional Philly, but still very good). Wings were great, they come dusted. The Butter Buffalo sauce was on point, but next time I'll order those wings naked, better suited for that kind of sauce. Nachos again very good, includes chilli, a lot of places don't offer that. Delivery was fast and friendly. Delivery guy wore a mask, and you could pay by credit card or cash. Overall, an excellent experience. read more

Still a great place for food and drinks. We came after golf and had some drinks and wings. The wings were big and had enough sauce that allowed for some extra re-dipping after you take your bites. The fries were hot and crispy and we just couldn't stop eating them. Service is great and it is affordable especially if you come for one of their special days. read more

I've been here several times now and the quality and service are always consistent. My brother and I stopped in for a quick snack before heading home and capitalized on their wing night. My brother ordered the Cajun and I tried the crooked flavor. I was pleasantly surprised with the flavor profile,it was both sweet,sour and spicy with enough heat even for the seasoned professional. 'Dive Bar' label here arguably a feature, not a bug. If you are at all allergic to peanuts, or if untidy floors bother you, avoid this place. This is the sort of place where peanuts are freely offered, and shells can be found throughout. Friendly service, seating decent, food delivious, fresh and well cooked. This place has saved me from cooking at home more than a couple times late at night! It has a good crowd wherever there's any type of game on. They have several flat screens. There's usually only one server/ bartender when we come in late. She usually does a good job taking care of everyone. We usually do a pound of wings and a pint. I did the cajun wings on my last visit. I like the dry rub seasoning. I have done a lot of their hot sauces and they aren't too bad. They were able to do all flats for me. That's always a plus. This is a sports, beer, peanut shells on the floor type of place. Unless your girl is into all 3 of those things I wouldn't recommend this place as a date spot. Visited the crooked uncle, ironically, with my not so crooked uncle. We received some coupons for wings. It was very tidy, the decor was welcoming, and the food was delicious. We had ordered wings, drinks, and fries with gravy. All of the food tasted and looked amazing. And was fairly priced. They had lots of great wing flavours lots of seats and lots of free peanuts which was quite fun. I used to enjoy going to this place for wings which was an occasional treat. Yesterday my husband and I decided to go for an hour long bike ride to this establishment we were half way there when I realized I did not have my phone for proof of vaccination. However, I thought as we were going to be on the patio due the beautiful day I had no reason to be concerned. I have to say I will never go back again as the person refused entry to myself as I did not have phone documents. It was wrong of them and I felt totally humiliated. A place were they rely on people for business has no right to deny excess to an out door patio when by law you are allowed! My niece persuaded me to check out this little place in our neighborhood as she heard about they're amazing wings and Wing Monday. 2 pounds of wings and a pitcher for $25.00 on Mondays all day. The wings were delicious a little bigger then I usually have but certainly did not disappoint and the customer service was friendly and enjoyable especially the woman behind the bar with the dark brown hair she was super friendly and sweet. Seeing the location and driving by many times we were quite surprised as we walked in as the bar is quite small and as you're allowed to eat peanuts from a Barrel the shells are thrown on the floor. No big deal we came for the wings and they were delicious we will definitely be back. read more

This is my favourite bar in the Shwa right now. Love the $10 pitchers after 10, Sunday through Wednesday. The wings are outstanding. The sweet potato fries are delicious. The staff is very friendly. It's small, which I like. The crowd has an older skew, i.e. it's not crawling with students. And I like the Thursday night live music. Probably the dirtiest restaurant I've ever been to. The dust and grime cover everything from the menus to the tables to the ceiling vents. My husbands burger had a hair in it, server was nice, that was the only saving grace. If you're the owner please consider a deep cleaning before the health department shuts you down. read more

Upon first entering The Crooked Uncle I must say I was a little taken aback. I had eaten at the late Jacks Filling Station, and since this establishment is under the same ownership I was none the wiser to the improvements that were made. Where as Jacks was dark, somewhat dirty, and featured a large dining room the Crooked Uncle features a much more sophisticated and modern albeit smaller take on the sports bar. The food, however, has not changed at all. The same award winning wings that Jacks featured have come to the Uncle. Well, if it's not broken, don't fix it. The staff were friendly, although the Uncle's atmosphere did not strike me as being particularly welcoming. The regulars (and there are quite a few of them) did not strike me as the friendliest crowd. Regardless, the Crooked Uncle is vastly superior to many bars in Oshawa, and it has very good wings. For a good meal, I would definitely recommend this establishment, however if you are bar-hopping to meet new people this would not be my top recommendation. read more
