Came here for a drink and my daughter to eat her favourite butter pasta. Upon eating it she finds a bunch of brown sticky stuff allover the bottom and on food. Stopped eating it as she and I were grossed out. Needed up ordering fries to replace it food that wasn't eaten. Service was really slow, but the waitress was friendly so I stayed a bit longer thinking it would get better. I had to get a server 3 times (which in 2 hours is a bit much). Normally I have no problems but Friday June 12th around 4pm the bar was a bit busy but does off. Then I didn't check my bill and later realized I didn't get any kind of price adjustment on the food my daughter didn't eat and had to pay extra for the fires thinking it was in place of the kids meal that wasn't fully eaten Not impressed by the service received. A pretty good lunch spot if you're in the area. I came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon before catching a movie. The service was great, and the vibes were chill. The selection of food options was also pretty good. I got the Buffalo Chicken Wrap, but it also had the chance to try the chicken wrap, which is slightly different. Both were good in their own way. the fries were not my favourite but still pretty tasty. If you're a host sauce lover like myself, they have their house made hot sauce that they put on the Buffalo Chicken Strips, that you can try, but they will charge you $1 for it. Wow - what a disappointment all around. Service was incredibly slow. When we finally received our drinks - broken glass for mine - and no real apology. Replaced the drink - 15 minutes later. Still waiting for our waters. Did not even get those until the bill came. After I had been drinking the water (through a straw thank god) for a bit, we noticed the entire glass rim had lipstick on it - NOT clean at all!!!! A new resto in Whitby! Yessss! In the former location of Hooters, Billie Jax has transformed the location into an open concept, classier sports bar. When you walk in, you're almost in the kitchen! The kitchen has no walls and you can see all of the staff working diligently. There is a beautiful bar boasting a great variety of craft beer. They know how to get me! There are many TVs with different channels on, but you can see a screen from almost anywhere. The menu is not your typical bar menu, it's got a gastropub feel, but they couldn't leave off the pub classics, like fish and chips! Their burgers are fantastic. I tried the Billie Jax burger and the West Coast burger, both super awesome. Regular and sweet potato fries are also quite good. Burgers are served on a brioche bun, so you're not overwhelmed by a ton of bread. The dessert menu is small, but if you need something sweet, these will do it. We shared the Mocha Ice Cream Cake. A large piece came drizzled with caramel and chocolate and sprinkled with slivered almonds. Very mocha-y. Good stuff! Service on both my visits were pretty good. I understand they're new, so the staff is also new, but, I'm sure they'll get into a good rhythm. Hostess on my first visit was probably new to hosting, but I'll let her sitting us by a giant party, where our server had trouble getting to us slide. I was a hostess before, I get it. Having driven by this place many times, I was quite curious to see how the place was. After reading some reviews on Yelp, decided to head here on Friday night. As we entered Billie Jack we were promptly greeted by the staff, and even on a busy Friday night we lucked out and got a booth!. After settling in, this place is nicely designed, the noise was a bit much but it was a Friday night. Our server was great, he was very prompt and courteous throughout the night. Now to the food...we ordered the calamari appetizer, buffalo chicken strips & Korean beef mains.(pics attached) The food was good, the calamari was the best. I found the Korean beef to be tough and not tender, possibly just warmed up. Look out for the chillies in this dish! The buffalo chicken strips were nothing special, again just okay. It's ur typical pub kinda food,although you can tell they are trying to be different which is good for Whitby. I would go again, just to try something else. read more

If it was possible I would honestly give this restaurants a 6 out of 5 stars after everything me and my family had experienced last weekend at this restaurant. While I'm not originally from the Durham region, my family was given the tip during our brewery tour in Beamsville last weekend to check out this restaurant. I remember the tour guy saying, "this place makes the best burgers ever". With that sales pitch in mind we decided why not give it a try then?! To cut to the chase everything about this restaurant from the freshness and quality of our Burgers (one of the best ones I had in a while!), right down to the appetizers (Calamari & Spinach dip) was superb! Our waiter, god bless his soul (don't remember his name for the life of me) was also amazing. I haven't had service like that in a long time in all honesty. The waitresses are amazing here but are very overworked and understaffed. This place used to be so good, however since new ownership took over this place has been a disappointment. Undercooked wings and the pirogies are like half the size they used to be. Even though everyone is working their butt off trying to get sports on the TVs with sound is a disaster. No hostesses mean people not being seated and leaving after waiting. Sucks this place used to be so good! read more

Billi Jax is a nice pub with a huge selection of craft beers. If you're a beer drinker, Thursday nights it's $5 for any craft beer. The wings and ribs are both superb. Nice thick cut fries too. Lots of tv's in the place to catch a sports game. Highly recommended! read more

We had a reservation for 7 people and were seated right away. The tables were really close together and the servers couldn't even serve the booths behind me without bumping my chair. There is no way this place is meeting AODA standards. We started with Nachos with chicken and the spinach dip for the table. The nachos were great, but the spinach dip was on the salty side and heavy on the garlic. My husband loves spinach dip. And he refused to eat this one. Half of it was left over. I had the soft tacos with chicken and added cheese. The first taco was good, but the second one had so much onion in it that I couldn't finish it. The chicken was also really dry. They should be using pieces of the crispy chicken strips instead. My husband had the Buffalo chicken poutine and had no complaints. Someone had the chicken fajitas and said there was hardly any chicken pieces and what she had was dry. Someone had the Buffalo chicken strips with a poutine and had no complaints. Someone had the steak and mushroom pie with a garden salad, and said that there was no sauce and the steak itself was really dry. Her garden salad had either goat or feta cheese in it and was not what she expected and it was not eaten. The pastry, however, was good. Someone had the Korean beef with no complaints. Someone had the classic burger and fries and said the burger was overcooked but not burnt. We all agreed the fries were good. When I first visited Billie Jax, I was surprised (pleasantly - as it's in Whitby but seemed like a nice Toronto restaurant). Great set up, decor, beautiful patio, well trained and courteous staff...and I thought a guy carefully watching the floor was a manager. I was curious to know which big company owns this. But wow, I got to know that guy is the owner: Billie of Billie Jax. A nice guy with great attitude and perhaps that's why staff was great too. Great choice for food and drinks. Convenient location, not only for locals but also 401 Intercity travelers. Highly recommended! In fact I'd like to see more locations. Probably a future competitor of Jax Astor's, Moxie's, etc., with menu better than them :) read more

We went on a Sunday night, a night the bartender told us was rarely busy which was why there was only her and one other person on the floor. It got very busy and we assumed the service would be very poor. However, the two of them worked very well together and the service was very good. Went as a large group (17 ppl) for a birthday dinner, and waited sooo long! It took our waiter and hour to take our orders! we then waited 45 min. for appetizers! We then ended up waiting over an hour and a half for our meals, after waiting and eating our appetizers. While waiting we asked to speak to the manager, and there was no manager! So we waited some more and finally got our food. However, the food was cold, dry and chewy. I ordered the 8oz steak and asked for it to be medium rare, and i received a well done cold, dry and chewy steak. The same was for almost everyone else at our table too. Certain meals were compensated, but to wait over 2 hours for food, was insane. We were all looking forward to this restaurant, but I would not come back. I came to this restaurant when it first opened and was very impressed with the service, quality of food, and overall dining experience. However, I went again last week (Aug 21 2020) and was very disappointed on everything (aside from the very polite waitress serving us). When we first got to the restaurant we were greeted and brought to our table outside immediately as we had a reservation. Upon arrival, we noticed that the tables were squished against the fence and a tree on the patio. Whoever was sitting on the ends of the table would have had a difficult time getting in the seat as they would be pushed up against the table. The host was happy to help and understood the issue so he moved the tables to a location easier to get in and out of. He then cleaned the table with what seemed to be a mixture of water and bleach, in my opinion and experience mixing chemicals for the company I work for it was very strong. We then sat and about 10 minutes after the server came to take drink orders, we got some got pop, water and beer. The water was fine, because how can you screw up water, the beer was fine and wasn't flat or had loss of taste, however the pop we got (sprite, root beer and ginger ale) were all flat and watered down. The server came and gave us different pop once we complained and even tried some that she brought up to clarify the issue, she didn't directly said it was an issue but she was very nice and cooperative to bring us something else to quench our thirst. After that fiasco we ordered and got our food an hour later. The food looked good but was cold and dry, almost like it was under a heat lamp that didn't heat all that well. To be more specific the ribs were dry, chicken fingers were dry, burger was surprisingly good, Jambalaya was cold, had no heat at all to it and only tasted like tomato which I'm assuming is the base of the dish. You might be able to tell that we are not impressed at this point, the quality of food and beverages was poor and lousy. The only good part about the restaurant was our server, for being someone who makes minimum wage, she went above and beyond to sort out our drink issue. I enjoy coming here because I like the environment, the food and drinks, and the service. The owner knows how to run a good restaurant and he leads by example. Deciding to have dinner with a group of friends here seemed like a good idea. We had heard the good reviews and were excited to try it! A day later all 5 of us were throwing up all day with horrible food posioning. the only two girls who were fine were the ones who didn't eat any of the spinach dip. After speaking to the manager we were clearly told that it was just the flu and they would not take responsibility for us all being sick. Though most flus do not all come at the same exact time after eating the same meal????
