This coffee shop is simply superior. From the service, to the ambiance, to the coffee itself, my whole experience at Sey Coffee will be a memorable one. The coffee here is more simplistic, but that's because the flavor is in the bean itself, not in all the sugary additives that you get at most cafes. This is more for the purists, and I love that. Funny enough, I can't drink a ton of caffeine as I'm sensitive, but their decaf espresso had a ton of depth. It made me actually enjoy sipping and savoring. The sparkling water that comes along side your drink wakes up the senses in between sips, and I found that oddly refreshing. It made each sip taste like the first. Aaron and the other staff were super friendly too. I enjoyed sipping and reading during my stay. It made for the perfect recharge. Hope this helps!
Of course the coffee is amazing at sey. The light roasts delivering such unique fruity and tea-reminiscent flavors. However, people should go and try their teas. So underrated, and both of the teas I tried there were some of my favorites ever. I even bought a box of the Nantou Dark Series Oolong Tea from taiwan. Song tea is amazing. Service is fantastic, space is beautiful.
Great vibes and great coffee! This coffee shop has an inviting interior that makes you want to hangout and enjoy your coffee. The coffee was delicious and hot which was great on a cold rainy day. The only thing that wasn't great was the cookie it was a bit tough and didn't have much flavor. Other than that it was great coffee, service, and vibes.
I've ordered Sey beans online before but the hubby wanted to experience Sey in person. It's a large space with plenty of seating depending on what time you arrive, is lit by naturally bright light coming in through the windows, and has a minimalist vibe to it. I ordered a dirty chai while the hubby ordered a mocha. Both were okay and the coffee roast is so light that the flavor of coffee didn't come through whatsoever. I think the best way to enjoy Sey might be via a pour over.
Nice coffee shop, but quite difficult to find, lol. Nice variety of seating and super friendly and pleasant folks here. Good coffee and welcoming atmosphere was perfect as a coffee shop, espcially after coming from a clinical feeling place just before this:)
This is where you want to come as a coffee lover in NYC. So far it's unmatched for me. Fantastic experience from beginning to end. This shop is at the pinnacle of coffee roasting in New York City and the possibly the world. The small hot latte I had was one of the best I've had at a coffee shop. I also bought a bag of Jhonatan Pito beans and I love them already. I really appreciate the garage-style door and the plants; I can't wait to come back here when it's warmer!
very cute spot with some seating but definitely gets busy so may be tough to find a spot esp on the weekend, but vibes are good! i got a cortado with oat milk and my friend got a flat white with oat milk as well. the espresso was okay, not my personal favorite but i did like the taste with a higher milk to espresso ratio. i do want to go back and try the pour over. service was quick & there are pastries available
High-quality coffee in BK! They do an amazing job of sourcing their coffee at Sey. The flavor is rich and smooth. The space itself is relaxing and casual. They have a strict rule when it comes to laptops (only allowed in certain sections). This is nice, but just keep this in mind if you want to work- if the laptop section is full, they will not let you use your laptop in the other areas.
Very light strong coffee with cute cups. The place is very cute and open and would not expect it in the neighborhood. I would skip the tea in the future as it felt like a cold brew tea and too light in flavor. But the coffee hot and cold were delicious.

Best coffee in NY!! I could already smell the perfectly roasted beans from walking past this place. It's a great, refreshing coffee scent. I got an iced latte, and the taste was amazing! Good flavor, but not bitter at all, and was very smooth. The line might look intimidating at first, but coffee is actually really quick to make, so it's definitely worth it!
Great coffee. Cute industrial vibes. But this sausage roll freaked me tf out. Had to take out the sausage entirely, giving uncooked. The other croissant was kinda dry. I would only come here for the coffee.

Came here on a sunday around 2 PM, and it was lively but not too busy. I really liked the atmosphere with all the natural lighting and plants. It's a laptop-free cafe with a bathroom. They were very kind and let me sample some of their teas. I ordered the herbal tea, which felt very refreshing and light. Tucked away in Bushwick lies coffee lovers paradise! The space is airy, minimal, and filled with natural light--basically a sanctuary for coffee purists. There are no gimmicks, it's all about highlighting the beans and their origins with precision. Sey is a great spot if you want to slow down. The vibe is calm, almost gallery-like, with greenery softening the industrial setting. The baristas know their craft inside out and are always happy to walk you through the tasting notes like you're about to embark on a tiny flavor journey. The staff are all super great, love their vibes! My pour-over was Ethiopian coffee. Never in my life have a tasted Ethiopian coffee bean. Sey is not your average cup of coffee, it's an experience. Bottom line: Sey is a temple for serious coffee lovers, and once you've tasted their beans, it's hard to go back to regular drip. read more

Classic cozy, modern, and beautiful spot in Brooklyn. Perfect for studying, sketching/journaling, or yapping with a friend. Such friendly staff here and love the seating options here. Windows are gorgeous with great lighting too. Food wise, all the drinks are very fun to try out and a mix of soothing for teas and a nice shot of espresso on the coffee side. Ordered: Iced Coffee (~$6): made with Kubi selection (Ethiopian Landrace - Honey variety) Aya's take: Sey Coffee has a very hipster vibe, soaked with bright natural lights and plants, and great espresso selections from their coffee roastery. I love a good coffee but I wouldn't say I have a go-to order. At Sey Coffee, it's a bit confusing as they have 4 main items on the menu: pour overs, drip coffee, iced coffee, and espresso with or without milk. I'm more used to seeing the types of coffee drinks (ie, latte, cappuccino, flat white, etc.) so with that said I went with the Iced Coffee as it was most familiar to me. The Iced Coffee Kubi selection was earthy, slightly sweet, and slightly bitter. I love the presentation (I had it to stay) and the taste grew on me as I continued drinking it. The prices are a bit higher than usual particularly for the pour overs but it is good quality at the end of the day. Good try! read more
Great coffee and service as expected from a top notch coffee roaster. Light roast mostly just so you aware. Very knowledgeable staff when you but your coffee. It is expensive here... but many show up. The ambience is a like a coffee shop without computers. So even better unless you need to work. In that case, get Dunk'n? Pour over abelardo - great coffee... not sure what to add besides the tasting notes on the card. Half of the pour over is at barista's hand and you will be in good hands read more

Came here from a friend recommendation. I love visiting all different coffee shops and trying their beans. My friend was saying her friends like this coffee and if they see a cafe serving this coffee brand they will go to get it. I had high expectation based on what she mentioned. So I walked my pup from LES here which is 1 1/2 hr walk it's not bad for us. We walk a lot. I got a plain small latte to try their beans. Their beans they used were very light. Barely any flavor. The green tea tasted so much better than the coffee. I was more salty about how we walked all the way here and the coffee was subpar. Do not see the hype or the taste from here. Even in a small latte. The flavor wasn't there. My second star was for the green tea here. Tasted like any other coffee shops that taste like milk with a slight coffee flavor. At least it wasn't too acidic. read more

I've been to many coffee shops all over NYC, but SEY is easily one of the best and my personal favorite. I highly recommend the café au lait. Most shops don't put much effort into making a smooth café au lait since most people order black coffee or lattes. SEY, however, crafts theirs beautifully, it stays delicious even after it cools down. Their croissants are also unique and absolutely delicious! read more

Arguably one of the best coffee shops in Brooklyn. They have their own high-tech roastery in the back, and one of the owners travels the world in search of the most select and sustainable coffee beans available. This is one of the few places where you should order a straight espresso to experience the full flavor of what they do. read more

Solid coffee and decent service. Atmosphere inside is nice and open and bright, with lots of plants around. I had a shot of espresso, it was pulled well and was well balanced, and came with a glass of sparkling water on the side which served as a nice palate cleanser. The espresso was $5.50, which is the highest I've ever seen in NYC, but the fact that they don't take gratuities helps. They could do a better job with making the menu more clear, and easier to see for those in line. The only menu was right in front of the cashier. Pourover prices are absurd, anywhere from $13-20 a cup. That's way too high in my opinion. Overall it's good and I'll be back! read more

While best known as one of the destination coffee roasters in the city these days, in my opinion Sey Coffee is best visited at their early weekday opening time of 7am, when the dim light through the skylight gives a moody ambiance that pairs well with the minimalistic menu and austere service. The cold brew is smooth and pairs well with their blood orange cake. If you'd rather go with a more decadent beverage, the mocha has chunks of Rakka chocolate you can taste and is not a bad pick either. read more

Such a cute coffee shop! The space is absolutely gorgeous! I got a hot dirty chai with oat milk which was smooth, creamy, and fragrant. It was also reasonably priced. There's a decent amount of seating inside, it wasn't too loud either and I saw a few people doing some work on laptops so this could be a nice space for some light work as well. The pastries looked yummy, and I'd definitely stop by to grab a drink and pastry if I'm in the area again. read more

Coffee was amazing. Right away the aroma with the smoothness made it hands down a highlight of my trip to NY. It does get very crowded and gets louder than I prefer at a coffee shop but the service was amazing. The employees you can tell are constantly moving to clean tables and dishes. read more

Stop by for a delicious coffee. Whether is an espresso drink or black coffee, the beans here are good. The coffee is well made and has a great flavor. They give you $4 off beans if you purchase a drink. The cafe has a chill laid back vibe. read more
Sey is being regarded as one of the best roasters in the US by many coffee lovers. The interior is spacious with high ceilings, excellent natural sunlight and greenery. It's a perfect spot for working, with a clean bathroom and speedy wifi. Yet they only have a very limited laptop zone, which is the high table with approx 8 seatings facing the wall. ＊ Latte w/ Oat Milk, Raul Perez They rotate their beans on the menu on a regular basis. The coffee beans they used for espresso based drinks was from Raul Perez, with a hint of honey and citrus. The latte was bright, fruity, and very smooth. They also gave a cup of iced sparkling water on the side to cleanse your palate so you can fully enjoy the taste of your coffee. Well but let's ignore the failed latte art. ＊ Mushroom Feta Danish They offer a couple of savory and sweet pastries. The danish was good in cafe's standard, and served as a good accompaniment to enjoy your coffee. ＊ Mazateca Mujeres Suggested by their barista, I bought Mazateca Mujeres for making pour overs and lattes at home. Went here based on reviews. I exclusively was trying mocha's in the Brooklyn area and I saw that theirs was considered especially good. Something about their coffee I was not expecting was that apparently they don't really sweeten anything! So the mocha was straight up like a real cocoa with no sugar, but they had like a house made brown sugar simple syrup and sweetener packets available at their condiment bar. Overall the taste was actually really good, the espresso was tasty and not too dark and the mocha being real and not some cheap syrup was really pleasant. The inside also was quite a nice size (tough to find here in coffee shops) and had a nice ambiance. And the girl working the counter was really sweet, didn't judge me at all for not knowing anything about their drinks lol. read more

Walking past this place on my way to a hair appointment the week prior and was immediately drawn to the open space and simple yet greenery filled decor. This space is a place you can comfortably work from or socialize intimately with friends. Love their range of savory and sweet pastries which were quiet delicious that I ordered some twice (to-go). Service was also efficient and attentive - would definitely visit again and intend to! read more
