Of course the coffee is amazing at sey. The light roasts delivering such unique fruity and tea-reminiscent flavors. However, people should go and try their teas. So underrated, and both of the teas I tried there were some of my favorites ever. I even bought a box of the Nantou Dark Series Oolong Tea from taiwan. Song tea is amazing. Funny enough, I can't drink a ton of caffeine as I'm sensitive, but their decaf espresso had a ton of depth. It made me actually enjoy sipping and savoring. The sparkling water that comes along side your drink wakes up the senses in between sips, and I found that oddly refreshing. It made each sip taste like the first. I've ordered Sey beans online before but the hubby wanted to experience Sey in person. It's a large space with plenty of seating depending on what time you arrive, is lit by naturally bright light coming in through the windows, and has a minimalist vibe to it. I ordered a dirty chai while the hubby ordered a mocha. Both were okay and the coffee roast is so light that the flavor of coffee didn't come through whatsoever. At Sey Coffee, it's a bit confusing as they have 4 main items on the menu: pour overs, drip coffee, iced coffee, and espresso with or without milk. I'm more used to seeing the types of coffee drinks (ie, latte, cappuccino, flat white, etc.) so with that said I went with the Iced Coffee as it was most familiar to me. The Iced Coffee Kubi selection was earthy, slightly sweet, and slightly bitter. I love the presentation (I had it to stay) and the taste grew on me as I continued drinking it. The green tea tasted so much better than the coffee. I was more salty about how we walked all the way here and the coffee was subpar. Do not see the hype or the taste from here. Even in a small latte. The flavor wasn't there. My second star was for the green tea here. Tasted like any other coffee shops that taste like milk with a slight coffee flavor. Pretty disappointing experience here. After reading lot of reviews of this specialty roaster coffee shop I decided to stop by and try it out. I asked the guy at the register for some beans that would be good for espresso and he recommended Pink Bourbon. When I got home I had a hard time even grinding the beans and noticed they were light roast which is new to me for an espresso recommendation. Solid coffee and decent service. Atmosphere inside is nice and open and bright, with lots of plants around. I had a shot of espresso, it was pulled well and was well balanced, and came with a glass of sparkling water on the side which served as a nice palate cleanser. The espresso was $5.50, which is the highest I've ever seen in NYC, but the fact that they don't take gratuities helps. They could do a better job with making the menu more clear, and easier to see for those in line. The only menu was right in front of the cashier. Pourover prices are absurd, anywhere from $13-20 a cup. That's way too high in my opinion. Overall it's good and I'll be back! read more

Went here based on reviews. I exclusively was trying mocha's in the Brooklyn area and I saw that theirs was considered especially good. Something about their coffee I was not expecting was that apparently they don't really sweeten anything! So the mocha was straight up like a real cocoa with no sugar, but they had like a house made brown sugar simple syrup and sweetener packets available at their condiment bar. Overall the taste was actually really good, the espresso was tasty and not too dark and the mocha being real and not some cheap syrup was really pleasant.
