I LOVE this place. It's so homey and the italian chef (man with a red beanie) is so welcoming and funny! Their food and service is amazing and I ate the most delicious quesadilla/crepe I've ever tasted. It's called the classica and it has arugula, cheese and prosciutto de parma. Very beautiful place and warm atsomphere. I will most definitely come again. Please eat here you won't regret it! read more

I was not a fan of communal dining in the past but this cute cafe changed my mind! Upon walking in you are greeted by the workers behind the counter. They were friendly and could clearly see I have never been before. They told us what we're their most popular dishes and then you place your order and seat yourself. The people we sat amongst were approachable and social but not shoving themselves into your conversation which was very cool. The food came very quick and super fresh. It was the most delicious and affordable breakfast I have ever had in New York! Definitely worth coming back next time I am in town. Authentic Italian breakfast served by a small family run restaurant. This was the last meal I had to end my New York trip and while it's off the beaten path, I would recommend this to any travelers looking to enjoy a meal with a home cooked feel and escape from the bustling city. Let's scream burrata! I ordered the burrata bowl with carrots, beets, kale, and I think sweet potatoes. Talk about a light meal and you feel satisfied. The place is small but cozy. The staff is polite and non pressuring. The vibe is between have a cup of coffee and working on a computer. The yelp reviews did not disappoint. read more

It's usually amazing but there's a second guy working now that puts SO MUCH milk in iced coffees, even when we emphasis "just a TINY bit of milk" - it would make sense to put less and be able to add more if needed, but the iced coffees are being served at an off-white color. TOO MILKY!! read more

It was a really charming place staffed (owned?) by a couple of really nice guys. The coffee was good, too. Everything just what you'd want. The food was not a disappointment (and I walked six miles to get there!) but it also wasn't to die for. Feels like a genuine Italian local hangout. We had the burrata salad with a poached egg. Looked phenomenal and did not suck but did not knock us out. The sandwich (piadine?) was good but also felt like it could have been just a notch better to have any sort of "wow factor". read more

Just need to come here one more time to bump it up to FIVE stars! Brunch in New York has come to mean long lines, crowded restaurants and the need for a bottomless alcoholic drink. Thank you LA for being everything that is not the new age brunch! The decor resembles a market of sorts with small tables and booths. Good for a small crowd. This quaint cafe is low key and not crowded (hope it stays that way) and just is what it is. The food here is simple but delicious and the coffee is great. We got the special - Roasted tomatoes, Italian sausage and FRESH stracciatella cheese. The sausage was and I got and the veggies were so fresh! Return? if i could ever be a regular at a place this would be it. a super pleasant and charming brunch spot / cafe run by a little couple with equally as nice staff. The menu was simple and limited, but everything was super tasty, and the decor and place consists of mismatched and vintage trinkets, furniture, and decor that can take you to a feeling of being in a little European cafe, depending on how you interpret it. This is by far my favorite neighborhood coffee shop. When I first moved to NYC and didn't have a job, I would go there for hours and drink coffee while looking for work. Vibe: The vibe is the best thing about this place. It feels like home. There is one big table and a few booths that surround it. It's pretty small, so if you go and plan on sitting, chances are you'll end up sharing a booth or table with a stranger or two, which is actually really nice. It's run by a bunch of Italian men who are the sweetest. My sister once described it as, "homey in the way that there is always one lazy housefly buzzing about in the sunlight." Food: I've only ever gotten the cheese and vegetable panini, which I love. The other food looks really good though. I keep meaning to try new things, but I always end up getting the panini because I love it. The pastries aren't anything special and they don't have much variety, and because it's in Williamsburg, there are a lot of other places nearby that have way better ones. However, I occasionally get a scone which I've always enjoyed. Drinks: Great coffee all around. I have a pretty standard drink order, but I ventured out once and tried their cappuccino which is also very good. They don't do anything super fancy (like matcha drinks or whatever else might be the current craze), but they're good at what they do. Service: It's a cafe where you order at a counter and they call out your name when your food is ready, so not much to report here. It's a little chaotic sometimes during peak hours. Other than that, all I can do is stress how lovely the men that run the place are. Recommendations: The cheese and vegetable panini, duh. read more

Did I get a bad batch of coffee? Tasted like they forgot about half the grounds. So weak. Other thoughts -I LOVE that they have walk up service. I wish more places did this. -I wish they had a little more sensitivity to handling things as the gentleman put his hands all over the lid trying to get it to stay on the cup. Dang. This is the cutest place -- so cute, in fact, that when I entered the spot, I texted my friends who were coming to meet me, "Omg this place is sooo cute." Very familial. And they serve everything on metal lunch trays which further adds to the cozy ambience. I felt like I was transported to Italy, complete with the older Italian gentleman behind the counter wearing a bright red knitted beanie (he looked so Euro). There was also a young Italian gentleman with a thick accent who had a James Franco-esque starlet quality to him. I asked him about the barley coffee they sold, wondering if it was more barley or more coffee-tasting, and he said, "In Italy, only the children take barley coffee," which made me think it was more like Ovaltine than anything. The BEST PART is that they have stacks and stacks of New York Times littered around all the tables. Given that I was there on a Sunday, I was only too happy to lose myself in a Style section article on the rise of virtual reality porn. God, it's great to enjoy tactile print journalism. Moreover, even though we were there for a couple hours, the staff didn't seem to mind us taking up a whole table and loudly discussing the "Saw" movie series. They didn't bother us all. Wait, also! The music was incredible. Lots of Elvis Costello and similar type music. I'm guessing it was a Pandora station set to Elvis Costello... Now my cons: 1) We got a late brunch, around 2:15pm, but it was still full of diners relaxing at tables or working on their laptops, such that we *almost* didn't have space to sit. If you're a big group, this place might not be the best choice. 2) I love that I completely rave about this place, even though the food didn't excite me. The menu was a bunch of pork-based Italian sandwiches, e.g., with speck, salami, or prosciutto on this thin crepe-y bread, OR normal breakfast items (poached egg with toast, oatmeal, blah blah). All very normal and simple and rustic food -- which is great in its own right, but nothing that RIVETS me. On the plus side, you can have a $10 brunch instead of a $30 brunch, so I was thrilled about that. I got the Tostone which was probably overpriced at $8 for a small ass piece of bread with a slice of ham on top, an egg, and some arugula and pesto. It was okay. My friend had the burrata, which was for sure the highlight of our table. JUICY! I would go back for a coffee and maybe one of those deelish looking apricot croissants!! read more

First off I like my latte extra hot so don't make it and sit it while you make my friends drink. Then he put it in front of me I asked is that all I get (Sir fill up my cup not 3/4) he proceed to continue with whatever he was doing. I asked for more milk. I asked for sugar bcas they don't have flavors which was disappointing didn't get a stirer to stir. My friend said she needed sugar in her hot chocolate. I wish they guy in the kitchen was serving me bcas he have better personality, he made eye contact can see he is smiling and when I used the restroom he was a gentleman to open the door for me even though he had things in his hand and acknowledged me once again. Maybe if I am in Brooklyn again I'll give them a second chance with the food. read more

I live right around the corner and this place is my always go to for cold brew and frittata. My "work from home" Fridays always start with Lella! There's something charming and cozy about this place. All I can say is wow. I walked into Lella thinking that the store was insanely cute and looking at the menu, my eyes became bigger than my stomach. I've never had a ham and cheese crepe I've liked before even from those French bistros, but the crepes or Piadine is absolutely unmatched here. I've never had something so delicious in my life. The coffee is also phenomenal and I can't wait to start making regular visits to this place. read more

Really cute place with friendly staff and lots of random toys to play with and newspapers to look at! Unfortunately, for me, the food wasn't really anything special. I ordered a special egg bowl with asparagus, artichoke, and bacon, all on top of some romaine lettuce. I found the dish underseasoned and nothing I couldn't have made at home. The individual components didn't necessarily go well together since there was nothing to tie it all together--no sauce or dressing. And the portion was pretty small for $11! Another friend ordered the open-faced egg sandwich called the tostone for ~$8 and it was really small. I'm sure he wasn't full. Jesus Christ this place is amazing. Friendly staff, great music, nice atmosphere, great coffee, & an amazing avocado toast. I need ten stars for this place! I poured over all the reviews on Yelp and was not disappointed! I hopped on the L and got off at Graham Avenue and it was a short walk to this little bit of heaven. It is small but not suffocating. Seating is limited and you may find yourself waiting a bit BUT I wasn't upset at all and that's a first. I walked through the door and was quickly greeted with a warm smile . These guys really made me feel like I was having breakfast at my kitchen table. They were patient as I looked over their menu. I decided on the Tostone and a latte. I will say that I wasn't expecting bread because I'm Cuban so I had to laugh when I realized that it was a yummy slice of toast and not a yellow plantain! The poached egg was perfection and the burrata was dreamy. This is the kind of meal that provides the right amount of fuel to get you going but won't leave you feeling like you're about to burst. The latte was heaven. I love my coffee sweet but skipped the sugar this time and didn't miss it at all. The food is reasonably priced ($11) and you definitely get a good bang for your buck. The only bad thing I have to say is that they aren't located in Miami so I could enjoy their delicious food anytime I wanted. Can't wait to return to Brooklyn! read more

Holy moly what an incredible place! I come here all the time. They specialize in Piadine (Italian Flatbread) and have all sorts of fillings (add-ons). Their Stracchino cheese (kind of like a mix of cottage cheese and ricotta) is absolutely delicious and goes with just about anything. Make sure to check their specials too. The staff is very friendly and attentive. If the place is packed, you could take your tray outside and easily find a seat. P.S their poached eggs are the BOMB! read more

I gotta say, I absolutely love this place. To begin with, I always sit inside, it's quite charming and is like a wonderful escape to another time and place. The sandwiches/wraps are truly unique and special. They make they're own bread/wrap and it is flaky and has a very unique flavor that's really delicious. They have a couple 'bowls' on the menu which are also tasty as well. It's a casual breakfast/lunch spot that in my opinion is destination worthy if you're not in the neighborhood. read more

I went there for the first time today for breakfast. I was not disappointed. The interior seems like a coffeeshop in the old Village in Manhattan. Lots of vintage items to catch your attention. I loved the menus printed and hanging near the counter. Just basic, homemade "comfort" food. I ordered their frittata and drip coffee to go, along with a slice of banana bread. Delicious! The staff was quite pleasant and helpful. I don't know how I did not discover this place sooner. Giv it a try--it won't disappoint. read more

What a great and lovely place ! A little taste of Italy in Williamsburg is always welcome. As I walked in I was transported to Milano. Everything from the ambiance to the Milano owners behind the counter gives the place a tranquil, warm and cozy place to start your day and have a delicious strong coffee or espresso. I had a cappuccino and definitely will be back to try the their brunch menu. This has definitely become a favorite on my list of local go-to's in the area. read more

Looked for hours on yelp for a good breakfast/brunch spot and stumbled upon this place. I loved the cozy atmosphere, decor and amazing food. I ordered the poached eggs while my boyfriend ordered the special. Both were really good but I thoroughly enjoyed the poached eggs. Everything in it was a good balance and didn't feel too heavy upon finishing. The bread that came as a side was also really good and had the perfect crunchy consistency. I didn't realize my dish had peppers in it but found that it gave a really nice kick to the salad and eggs. I have nothing but good things to say! I will be coming back to try their other dishes soon. read more

The guy working the counter has a lot of energy and clearly loves being there. The PB banana smoothie was yummy, very thick so could use a spoon. Mushroom toast was a bit pricey but you did get a lot of food for your money, the focaccia was crunchier than expected but all around a nice cafe bite. I just appreciate how this is such a gathering spot where you can watch bk life play out while working, it had a different energy from a lot of places in the area.

I'd say if you have a big party get there early. By 7pm the whole place was filled. There was a huge majong club that came in and took the whole back area, it was so crammed there were lines for the bathroom. Over all I had a good time. I really like the music too just know it gets very busy in there. The employees I would say were hit or miss. The ones that were great though I really liked. Just seem like the ones who didn't really give attention to customers or were kind of rude seemed like they didn't wanna be there.

The flavor of the sesame stirato was excellent but the bread itself was a tad too chewy for the filling we got with it (tuna salad), so that style probably works better with the jambon beurre. Will definitely be on the rotation whenever I'm in the city -- would love to try some of their seasonal/limited edition items one day, though not sure if I have it in me to brave the lines that can form on the weekends, lol!
