It seemed his goal was to just give a "set piece." To move me in and out as fast as possible, even though the winery was rather unoccupied that day. He did warm up a bit when I ordered an extra bottle for the three of us to share, but when the other couple agreed to split the cost, he didn't split it (it was fully on my bill). The Sparkling Rose was really really good. I came from the midwest for a month, hoping to learn a lot from each winery (and I emailed each winery months ahead of time, expressing my goals), and I visited 15+ wineries in that time. This was the second most disappointing, and the most expensive. There are so many better options--go elsewhere. This was one of 5 wineries that I didn't join their club. I left feeling like I was surplus grapes, the third cluster that is cut off during flowering.

This is Oregon people there's about 100 different wine place in a mile, go somewhere where they care.

This winery is located right off the road and has views all around, The service was very personable and attentive. The guy helping was knowledgeable on the wines and history of the winery. Wines are very nice and our wine educator was excellent. The location draws a lot of walk-ins but we never felt crowded or neglected. Each tasting is waived with a $100 purchase. We enjoyed the wine and therefore purchased $200+ to have the fees waived. The owner and winemaker Ken Wright has years of experience in the industry. He buys excellent fruit and in turn produces excellent wine. Definitely worth a visit when in Carlton or nearby.

This was an odd experience. I had reserved a tasting with J'Aime a month or so ahead of time--so as…read morea visitor from the midwest, I had put it into my itinerary. The night before, I emailed to confirm--only to get, the next morning, a text from J'Aime saying that I had never followed through. We ended up talking on the phone, and this was so very weird for me because I was actually looking at the email I had sent while she was aggressively arguing that I hadn't sent it. As things developed, she conceded that she missed it (but didn't apologize for gaslighting me), and agreed--somewhat reluctantly--to meet me, as long as I could get there earlier. I got there as fast as I could, maybe 40 minutes ahead of schedule. Then, I was given a very fast tour where I was told to not ask questions, to not speak at all, to just listen to her "set piece." It's not that the "set piece" wasn't interesting--it was, in a way. But 1/3 of it was stuff I already knew, from traveling the area for a couple weeks, and 1/3 of it was stuff she presented so quickly--and clearly not wanting me to ask questions--that I couldn't fully grasp it, as I had wished. The other 1/3 was useful. At the winery itself, the wine was fine, I liked it. There was nothing so special that I felt the need to join a membership, but I did take a bottle of wine back to my Airbnb with me. And to J'Amie's credit, she did make sure that I was fully recompensated for both the tour and the tasting. This was a learning/studying trip for me. I'm a former professor; studying wine is my retirement hobby. To shut "students" down from asking questions is inimical to real learning, so I was very disappointed in this. This was one of two wineries in Oregon who insisted on forced listening, rather than engaging.

We tasted LaRue's Blanc de Blancs, LaRue's Brut Rosé, Stoller Reserve Chardonnay, and Stoller Reserve Pinot Noir. Every wine was delicious and beautifully vinified to showcase and complement each varietal. I enjoyed the wines so much that I actually signed up for the Legacy Wine Club! Overall, it was a truly memorable experience for my family and me. The combination of beautiful scenery, exceptional wines, and wonderful hospitality made this visit one to remember. Thankfully, we made a Heritage Room reservation and were able to enjoy the outdoors under some umbrella shade. Two of us a wine tasting, 1 grabbed a glass of red, and the other was there for company and some N/A musings. We also had the charcuterie board and cookies, both of which were good overall. I absolutely adore this spot for having N/A options which on this day was an orange creamsicle inspired slush. Service was really accommodating...since I can be quite the slow sipper at times. They definitely did not make us feel rushed. This is such a picturesque spot and I couldn't help but adore the giant tree with the tire swing in the middle. People were absolutely trekking across the lawn to enjoy it. This is a rather family friendly winery and there were tons of families, a bridal shower, and just folks enjoying the day.
