We are not generally big Pinot fans so finding wineries in Willamette to try on our getaway was tough but this was a fantastic find. On our second winery tour of Natalie's Estate, we had the pleasure of first class treatment by the winemaker/owner and his lovely wife, as well as their tasting room staffer Cameron. The winery is by appointment only, and is so quaint and cozy nestled among the trees on the hillside overlooking the picturesque vineyard that having the intimate tasting experience only enhances the elegance of the wines they produce. The wines range from those from grapes grown on premises to small batches from grapes secured from around the Willamette Valley, the Dales and even Walla walla! The tasting is enhanced by fresh made nibbles that are paired with the wines on the days tasting list. Most of the vintages are produced in sub-100 case batches and are truly cellar worthy. This was the 23rd winery in 1999 here and now there is over 400!! It's all about the Pinot Noir as noted in the movie Sideways!!!This winery was named after their daughter. There are such varieties in wineries from small to large, from family owned to corporate conglomerates. Natalie's is so special as a smaller winery with such personal touch from the owners. We had a Saturday tasting where we were the only ones there for an hour or so, and were joined by three other guests for the last half of our visit. Boyd Teegarden (co-founder) conducted the whole tasting and was obviously able to provide the most insight conversation about the estate and his wines. We enjoyed everything and will continue to get some roses and pinots. Having that personal connection adds so much. read more

A great "farm to glass" winery but don't let its modest facility fool you, they are making great reds sourcing fruit from their vineyards in and out of Oregon. The farmer/owner/vintner/tasting room host is Boyd and he along with his wife not only know lots about wine and wine making but are the nicest people you are ever going to meet. Because of their modest operation, their tasting fee was only $15 and their bottle prices provide great value for the money. We particularly enjoyed the merlot and the cab. We visited this winery as a group. Boyd took care of us and seeing a large group he had already judged us to be the fun sort and not serious about his wine. He was unwelcoming and rude. Unfortunately the wines were not noteworthy. Overall visit to this place a downer and the only dull moment we had the entire weekend. In fact he did not offer us any education on the wines and made us sit in a isolated space away from his guests. If the winery's culture is to be educational why judge a group before hand? And then tell us we had to move others outside when you made us sit inside in an isolated place? Why call us loud and obscene when you did nothing to engage us? The response you get in this review goes far to tell you how they react to a group they prejudge! Short advice is skip this place there are a lot of other places who will value you as a customer. read more

His kind and warm personality mixed with Natalie's well appointed wines makes this place a must when venturing to Oregon for wine tasting. Willamette Valley is filled with many wineries that are overpriced and pretentious with very boring wines and tepid wine drinking experiences. Natalie's is not one of those destinations. Not only is the experience approachable and authentic, but the wines are stellar and priced well. If you are getting Pinot'd out Natalie's has a great Malbec and Meritage Wine. The experience was made special by their old world touch of bringing out a charcuterie plate so that you can taste the wines with food. Jeff served us and was very genuine and knowledgeable. What an incredible experience with winemaker and owner, Boyd;! After a somewhat circuitous drive to find the location, our group of four enjoyed a leisurely tasting in the cozy setting of the building. My fiancé and I found this place during Covid when we wanted to do something for our anniversary. We loved that they got us in on a whim and accommodated. We decided to support a small business and join their cellar club. Unfortunately our experience with Natalie Estates has been terrible!! We booked a birthday wine tasting where the staff was rude and unwelcoming. After this incident we decided to take our business elsewhere. It's been a YEAR of trying to cancel our membership and now we are just getting ignored and charged every quarter. The vineyard is refusing to cancel and we are very frustrated. This was our favorite stop on our helicopter wine tour (Tour deVine by Heli). Such a warm and cozy tasting room with equally warm people running it. We felt so relaxed here. They seem to be one of the few wineries in the area that actually make cabernets and they are excellent. This was the only winery we visited on our tour that we purchased wine from and now looking back I wish we had purchased more! We bought 2 bottles intended for Christmas gifts and I have been so tempted to just open them for myself! Natalie's is bit off the beaten path down a long dirt/rock driveway. I'd heard great things about natalie and for good reason. We were the only ones there on a Thursday afternoon but we were treated like family. Generous pours of their delicious wine and a complimentary plate of cheese and crackers. When I asked if I could buy another plate because we were hungry, a second complimentary plate was brought to us. The owner was warm and wonderful and chatted with us like we were old friends!
