Our favorite sushi place that we have been to so far around Knoxville area. We have been there 3 times. Parking lot is usually full so I have seen people park across the street in another parking lot. We have tried several different sushi's, but our favorite is the Sunset Roll, it's not on the menu, you just have to ask for it. Ever had what you wound call a off kilter spin on authenticity? Either every Thai restaurant has not been authentic or Lemon Grass ventures off the path of authenticity. We arrived to find the restaurant pretty full. My thoughts were that the restaurant not being empty during prime dinner time during a holiday week was a good sign. They do not have booth style seating so a romantic private dinner was not going to happen here. After being seated quickly, we were greeted by our server who was pretty attentive during our dining time. We ordered the Pad See Eu, Honey Roll sushi and Tom-Kha soup. This is where we went wrong or shall I say where Lemon Grass goes wrong. The Tom-Kha soup had such an overwhelming fishy taste that I could not even consume more than a couple of spoonfuls. My dining companion had the same comment too. It was strangely odd to taste this fishy. The Pad See Eu noodles were like none I have ever had before in all of the places I have had Thai food around the US. I tried this place for lunch today. I ordered it online and it was ready when I got there. I ordered chicken fried rice the lunch special. It was only $6.99. I did ask for white sauce on the side but they didn't have any. They gave me this clear sauce (that was so good! I didn't even know what it was haha ) and some spicy mustard which was good also. I was excited that we were going to go have Asian food in Maryville while we were in the area. However, when we received our food, it was quite unappetizing. I have never in my life seen a spicy, tuna crunch roll look like this. Additionally, I ordered the drunken noodles which I have eaten hundreds of times and have never had the noodles cooked al dente and in what would seem to taste like a pad see ewe sauce. The service was good. Our waiter was very understanding and pleasant. The curry scallops we ordered were actually flavorful, but did not make up for the other very disappointing dishes. We finally stopped by after two years of being in Maryville and were not disappointed. We ordered the lunchbox that had the curry with the orange color and lots of peppers--a little spice but not too much. (Can't remember then name but starts with a "P"...It was delish--I could drink it! LOL. The lunchbox comes in a tray with compartments...the main meat dish which was the curry, a very large scoop of rice, 4 California Roll, small salad and soup of the day. Too much food for me but I ate it all. The second time visiting I ordered the Pad Thai plate with the shrimp which was also delish but I prefer with chicken. My husband has Yellow Curry lunch Box that day and, once again, the curry was excellent. We will go back again. The only drawback is that the air was cranked so cold, it was uncomfortable. It had warmed up outside that day so I guess they were trying to do us a favor. First visit it was cold outside and overly warm inside. Take jacket or layer when you go. read more

I got the mixed vegetables with rice and I didn't think it was worth $13. Attentive and fast service all night. The food in general was fine. We are Thai food lovers and have high expectations. The shrimp pad Thai was a bit bland. I was surprised they didn't offer levels of heat (mild, medium, hot, Thai hot) with any of the dishes. The duck red curry had great flavor, but the duck breast was overcooked and tough. I came to visit my fiancé in Maryville while working on a project. As I was driving around, i immediately noticed that it was full of chain restaurants so of course I came to help for the rescue. I found this place during lunch and was immediately excited. When I walked in, the inside looks totally different! It looks so nice and so clean. I think it used to be a Pizza Hut but they did really well rearranging the place. Their foods are so affordable! They had lunch dishes around $7-8 per dish! That's so good. I ended up getting their lunch bento box which had soup (not your typical miso soup but a tomato based meat soup), chicken yellow curry, rice, and sushi. I think they change their menu everyday or the type of dish that comes with the bento box so that's pretty awesome! The chicken yellow curry was so delicious!
