Took the little missus for some Asian grub. Waitress was attentive and understood the menu and gluten stuff. The unsweetened tea with lemon was like an old girlfriend: ice cold and bitter. The tempura shrimp and veggies were so so good. Three smaller shrimpies. Three onion rings. 147 sweet potato sticks. The dipping sauce was spot on. I ate every bike. The lil missis had the basil roll. Time at bit of shrimp and then basil... she was it was largely a tasteless salad. ( don't shoot the messenger) The drunken noodles were great. Spivey but not too Spicy for this white boy. My wife added more spice on one side. The other dish was lava hot. It came with peanuts and bean sprouts. It was sweet, just like my date. We shared the dishes and I liked hers and she liked mine. We argued about the drunken noodles. Why the name? Is the chef drunk or the noodles? We have no answer. We got the leftovers to go and vanished quietly in the night. This morning I looked in the fridge and smiled that knowing smile of what is to come tonight for dinner. Yup- leftover Asian food. My husband and I, along with our baby came in for lunch on a Saturday. When we came in the restaurant wasn't too busy but the people who were there seemed like locals and they were really enjoying the food. Always a good sign. We got sat and looked over the menu, one thing I thought was really nice was that they offered their lunch on a weekend. Not many places do that. We decided however to order their dinner for two which comes with two entrees and a choice of app or dessert. We got their fresh basil rolls and also got a cup of their tom yum soup to split. For entrees we got their phad Thai and yellow curry. The soup and basil rolls came out super fast. Both were delicious. The soup was light and flavorful with the ginger and lime really shining through. The basil rolls were also light and the sauce was great with it. The basil didn't overpower any of the other flavors and the shrimp was very fresh tasting not fishy at all. My husband had never tried either before and was really happy with both of them. The entrees were very well portioned (meaning we had amazing leftovers). The curry a a bit of spice but not too much and you could taste all the other flavors in it. The phad Thai was good it was a bit watery with the sauce but the flavor was there. The only complaint either of us had was that the chicken was a bit dry. But that was small compared to how good everything was. It was a great lunch. When we are back in Maryville which is often because my husband works there it's definitely a place I want to go again. They have great food and the prices and really good. Plus the service is awesome. Thanks to our Knoxville Yelp Elite buddy (when that was a thing) who is also gluten free for recommending this as a place that "might" have vegan options! We were greeted promptly and cheerfully and seated. When we asked our server for possible vegan options he grabbed us a vegan menu. Practically unheard of in the Knox area! We ordered both the asparagus and peanut & avocado rolls to share. The peanut & avocado roll is outstanding and something I look forward to ordering in the future! He got the Mixed Vegetable in Vegan Brown Sauce and added tofu. He was asked if he wanted fried or steamed which is a nice touch. I got the Broccoli Mushroom with Tofu. Both were delicious. I got a 4 out of 5 spice level which was perfect for me. If I'm feeling especially risky, I might try the 5 level one day! Our server was very helpful and answered my questions about the menu for "next time". They have brown rice...yay. Also the Fresh Mango with Sticky Rice also happens to be vegan...sometimes restaurants that serve this "coconut milk" dish also add regular milk, but the kitchen confirmed it's "just" coconut milk. We've driven past the building hundreds of times, and it's a rather unassuming building. But, once inside, you're transported to an Asian decorated restaurant that reminds me of others I've been to. We went at dinner and the portions were huge and we left stuffed, and decided next time we'll share one dish with an extra order of rice and get the sticky rice. Located near Target in Maryville, TN is a small building with a full parking lot. And la lot of to-go orders. We tried this place out on a whim and it's quite small and enjoyable. The menu is rather small. They offer Thai food and sushi. So if you don't like those two items - this place won't be for you. We opted for sushi when we went. First time visiting this joint. Unfortunately, this establishment was hands down one of the worst dine in places we have eaten at in a long time. First our waiter was George L and he lacked personality and friendliness, he was just there and occasionally rude. It was almost like we were a bother to him by even showing up. The teriyaki chicken was very odd, it was very flavorless with its chewy, boiled chicken and very watery teriyaki sauce definitely not like any dish we have ever tasted. We wanted to pay with cash and found out if you order online you have to pay with card, so we called to see if we could place the order over the phone and had no issues. They said it would take ~20-25 minutes to have it ready after we ordered; however we were ~35 minutes away. The only complaint with the food is we asked for medium spice on both; however, all the spice was in the pad thai and no spice in the drunken noodle. Despite all the spice in the pad thai, the food still had great flavor. The shrimp in the drunken noodle were nicely cooked and there was a pretty good number. Sushi wise, we had the Kamikaze roll and rainbow roll. Both were excellent with great flavor and held up well when dipping in soy sauce. The Lamb, was really good, i love how juicy and soft the lamb chop was, the sauce has chunk of bell pepper and mushroom and basil to enhance the flavor. Terrible food and service! When we initially walked in I already had a bad feeling about the place since it smelled like fish and old oil. We waited for our food for 40 minutes without our waitress coming over to let us know what was going on or even to say "I'm sorry about the wait but your food should be coming out shortly....." instead we sat there waiting.... After eating our tempura appetizer of hard un cooked sweet potato/yam, 2 tiny quarter asparagus twigs and a couple onion rings . We had nothing to do but look around at the pitiful dining room. The place is a very small dingy and dark room with disgusting old drapes that look like something you'd see in a funeral home with sagging ceiling tiles. I am sure they were loaded with dust! They tried to make it look as if you're at a fine dining restaurant with linen table cloths covered by a glass top. However that was only to protect the table cloth from getting soiled by the messy waitress who spilled the tempura sauce all over. Finally our dinner plates get served to the table after 40 minutes of waiting. I ordered the broccoli/mushroom chicken with oyster sauce. It was nothing more than 2 day old freezer burned chicken in a watery brown sauce with frozen broccoli. My husband ordered the cashew chicken which he received the same old rubbery chicken. My daughter chose the basil wraps, while I got vegetable spring rolls. Both were delicious, although hers was heavy on the greens vs shrimp. We both got pad thai, mine with tofu, hers with shrimp. Both were delicious. My dish was saucy and flavorful and the tofu crispy and chewy, just as it should be. My daughter's only complaint was that she got just 4 shrimp. That is a bit chintzy, IMHO. The should've been given 8-10 because they were on the smaller size. I should mention it was during lunch on a weekend too. Went to Lemon Grass hoping for a delicious teriyaki chicken bowl. The steam rice on one side on my To-go box was drenched in a soupy teriyaki sauce, very undesirable. The chicken - few pieces received look a couple days old and from what I can see there is hot water at the bottom of the dish. Will not go back. 13 wasted dollars. Though a bit dated from inside and out, the food was great. Parking can be a bit tight.

My friend absolutely loves this restaurant so I've eaten here about 4 times and gotten take-out another 4ish times. We usually have this really lovely waitress who sometimes wears a duck tie that I think is incredibly cute. In terms of the food, I've generally liked everything that I've gotten here, most recently the yellow curry (I don't usually order this) which was unexpectedly good! I like their other curries (so far have had green and massaman) and the noodle dishes and sushi are pretty decent as well. My friend loves their nam sod (with plum sauce on the side), gyoza, and ALWAYS gets pork fried rice which is delicious. The only thing I've really hated is the basil roll because it has fennel or something in it that I just don't like. But overall, I think Lemon Grass is a standard Thai place with pretty solid food! read more

The dish I ordered had two peppers by it on the menu, so I was thinking it would have a nice amount of heat. It had no heat. I had to add gobs of chili flakes and sauce to it.
