Fantastic service!!! Can't say enough positive things about my report. I am looking for a hard to find Audi and the inspector did an amazing job. The pictures were thorough and his write up was very detailed and honest. The best thing was that he measured the paint thickness. It showed that there had been extensive paintwork while CARFAX did not show any evidence of accident repair. He also recorded the cooling ability of the a/c which needed to be addressed. I did not buy the car mainly due to the paint issues. If you are trying to buy a car long distance I would highly recommend Lemonsquad. We have used Lemon Squad twice now. The first time was to purchase a used 2011 Prius. They gave the car a clean bill of health Two months later we had $2000 bill to replace the air compressor. I don't completely blame Lemon Squad as we do live in Texas and the air is run nonstop during the summer. The second time we bought a 2002 Chrysler mini van for my nephew in Levittown, PA. They recommended we not buy the vehicle due to suspected flood damage. They did not find much wrong with the car that they based their recommendation on. We went forward with the purchase and took the car back to Maryland. Maryland has an intense inspection process where they put the car up on a lift and there is an extensive amount of time and work that goes into the inspection. We were expecting to find very little wrong with the car based on the Lemon Squad premium inspection. We were wrong. They had a list of things totaling an additional $1200 in repair cost. We were surprised so decided to get a second opinion. The second inspector found much of the same as the first guy. On the list was wobbly tie rods, no battery bar, and it needed brake pads for front, needs 2 tires amongst other things. The second mechanic gave us a more reasonable estimate for these items. I want to point out that Lemon Squad found none of these things except the tires. I asked both mechanics what they thought of the car having been in a flood. Both said they saw no evidence of flood damage. What I learned from using Lemon Squad is there is absolutely no guarantee they can save me money on my used car purchases. I consider the service they offer as no more than a glorified test drive. Nothing beats getting a car you want to buy up on a lift for a real look. II used the Lemon Squad to inspect a pickup truck I found on the internet. The truck was a GM and was a Certified Pre-Owned.(CPO). I decided to have an independent inspection even though the truck came with a 12 month bumper bumper warranty. The Inspection was done on time and found issues with the engine that the dealer apparently did not know existed. Great service, I will recommend and will use again. read more

Lemon Squad helped me to verify a scam on a vehicle that was out of state. The "dealer" had sent me the information about the car and a complete set of photos along with the fact that he had it there in his showroom. Upon sending someone for the inspection, it turned out the address was a fraud, and Lemon Squad went so far as to look up a "relocated" address and also found out that was a residence. Suspiciously the dealer no longer returned my calls or emails. Thanks to Lemon Squad for being my eyes and ears for me...and I was really appreciative of Regan who called me directly and sent photos of the locations that they visited. I scheduled an appointment last evening online. He went out to the dealership first thing this morning to check out the car I was looking at buying. The report more than paid for itself, alerting me to a couple issues that I would've paid for in the long run. He went above and beyond, for me, even calling the dealership afterward to make sure one of the issues was taken care of. Customer service over the phone was top notch. I paid $149.95 for the Premium Inspection. For this the inspector, who in ASE like all their inspectors, inspected the car in Salem almost a 90 minute drive for me. He let me know, by special request the condition of the control arm and the underside. He inspected the body, interior, and mechanics. He took about 20 pictures for me. He performed the inspection the next business day and sent me the report (with pictures) that same night. I talked with him and he gave me advice on the repairs, what they might cost, and recommend I ask the seller to reduce the price. After he pointed out the dents, the tread of the three tires, the need for a tune up, and a belt adjustment. I found that the car needed $600-800 in repairs. I was able to use this information, with report in hand, to talk down the seller $800. All in all, spending $149.95 actually saved me $650. Needless to say I am pretty happy. Is this a legitimate review because I gave a 5 out of 5, the best rating, on Yelp? Well, I work for a nonprofit in Portland and last I wasn't employed by a national car inspection agency, so there you go. Note: Lemon Squad provides inspections in every city and state, but their headquarters are in Minneapolis so that's why I posted the review here. I paid $149.95 for the Premium inspection, and before booking called the customer service people to find out the timeframe for completing the inspection, as I explained that I was under a very tight timeframe. They assured me that at the latest I would have the inspection the following morning, which worked well for me. When I didn't receive it the following morning I followed up and at that point things started to go wrong. The customer service person was pretty rude, uninterested in helping, and very dismissive. I eventually received the inspection report that evening, which was within their stated timeframe, but well outside of the timeframe they'd given me before I booked. The report itself was ok, it gave the impression of being comprehensive, but I don't think they really knew that much about the cars. Overall, even though the inspection report came back very clean, I wasn't confident enough in the inspection to buy that vehicle. Would I use them again? No, I would probably go with somebody else, I just didn't feel like I could trust these guys to give me the right information. read more

I ordered the inspection of a car, six hours from my home, on Weds. afternoon, the day before Thanksgiving. They arranged for inspection on Friday after Thanksgiving. Super fast when your moving on a sale. The dealer called me that Weds. night and informed me the Jeep had sold. Called lemon squad Weds. evening and to my surprise, someone was there. The nice lady said she was sorry to hear that and offered a refund or credit for another inspection on the spot. I very much appreciated the gesture and took the credit for another one since I was still shopping for a car. When I found a car locally, that I bought, I called Lemon Squad and Andy refunded my PayPal as we spoke. What a honest, very professional, group of people. I would recommend Lemon Squad to anyone. I recently got my vehicle inspected using Lemon Squad service. The inspector did not find any issues with the vehicle so I went ahead and purchased the vehicle based on the good report. However, the vehicle failed the state inspection because of 3 components - cracked belt, power steering leakage, and broken belt tensioner. It cost me over half a grand to repair these components. Then why the heck did I rated them a perfect 5? 1. They usually don't work on the weekend but made an exception due to the snowstorm and got backlogged. Gotta give them credit for going out of their way to make their customers happy. 2. Andy, the CEO, truly cares about his customer. He personally called me when I emailed customer service about spare tire on the report. He even provided some good tips on how to maintain the transmission properly to avoid major cost and headache down the road. 3. He refunded 50% of the inspection cost because he also believed 2/3 issues should have been caught by the inspector. I think this is a fair settlement. I recommend that they use this experience to improve their inspection guidelines. We rely on their service and we expect only the best. I would use their service again and would recommend them to friends. read more

Excellent service ! I needed a general idea of the vehicle I'm buying and LemonSquad did a phenomenal job. The inspection includes a very throughout visual inspection with many photos and a general vehicle overall condition check. I spend $150 for a BMW inspection and it was well worth it. I think this is the best deal you can find for the money, if you need more be prepared to pay at least double at some service shop and even triple (at least here in LA) at official BMW dealership, but remember no seller would agree to any disassembly of the vehicle and no service center would do that either. read more

There was an issue with a cancelled order and I wanted my money back. The dealership had changed price on me so I didn't need the inspection anymore. I talked to a nasty representative named Ragen and she was arrogant, disrespectful and terrible at customer service. They have a policy that states no refunds only credits in their 3 page long terms and conditions agreement. After having a nasty conversation with her she finally gave me an ultimatum stating you can have your money but you can never use our service again or no money and your account will stay active. I chose the money and hung up. Five minutes later the owner Mark called me and displayed how true customer service works. He calmly explained why they have the no refund policy and he understood why I didn't know because he knows nobody reads 3 pages of terms and conditions. He said I can have money and I wouldn't be locked out of my account. I believe in redemption and it takes alot for an owner to call and make things right like he did. hired the company to perform a pre purchase inspection on an out of state 14k auto purchase. i have used other services successfully in the past, and decided to try lemon squad. i paid 149.95, to have the vehicle inspected for any visual damage / test drive. they said the vehicle needed two back tires soon, some scuffs on the door side panels, and few door dings from other cars opening into.it that is all that was noted. what they did not tell me: the radio does not work, speedometer tachometer lights do not light at night, instrument panel was flashing two codes, and interior has bad smell, ends us a chemical company used to own the vehicle, and they had rated the electrical system as good. anybody with a thimble full of sense could see that, what a buch of dummies !!! ---they completely let me donw when i trusted them and needed them the most!!! i have over 4000 dollars worth of repairs needed! their customer service is virtually non existent, i made a three phone calls and sent three emails, even talked to andy the owner. got a lot of promises of " we will see what went wrong, and what happened, then call you back" . i did not receive even 1 return call to help me. they simply don't care about anything except taking your money. ​ y0u can't trust their service, and they don't stand behind anything. if you use them, you run the risk of buying a lemon, and they will not tell you. you stand to lose alot of money if you use their service. read more

Lemon Squad did not provide the services contracted, and company did not have the decency to contact those concerned of this purposeful decision to breach. Employees (and apparently owners) of Lemon Squad lied to me on several occasions. When I asked Lemon Squad employees to stop lying to me, they apparently became upset and decided not to provide the contracted services. Lemon Squad did not inform me or the seller that they had cancelled the service. We only found out when Lemon Squad did not show up at the agreed-upon time. Their lies: 1. Lemon Squad told me on Friday (1/9) that they had tried several times that day to contact the seller to set up the vehicle inspection. When I contacted the seller, he told me that he had absolutely no calls from Lemon Squad. 2. When I finally got Lemon Squad together with the seller, the company and seller agreed to meet at 3:00 PM on 1/12, despite the seller informing them that he was available Friday afternoon and all weekend. The company does not work the weekend, so the Monday appointment was fine with me. But then the company called me to tell me that the seller would not make himself available for the inspection until 3:00 PM on Monday. When I corrected this employee to inform her that I had already spoken to the seller, who was willing to meet with Lemon Squad at any time over the weekend or on Monday, the Lemon Squad employee appeared to become upset that I asked her and the rest of the Lemon Squad employees not to lie to me any more. This is that last contact I had with anyone at this company until Monday afternoon. 3. The seller and I found out on Monday (1/12) at about 3:00 PM that the inspector was not coming, because the appointment was cancelled. I tried to call Lemon Squad to find out what was going on, but Lemon Squad did not answer the phone. The seller was called by a Lemon Squad employee to tell him that the company chose to break the contract because of something I said to them. I then received a call from Lemon Squad telling me that they had e-mailed me on Friday that they decided not to do business with me, apparently because I asked them not to lie to me any more. The person who called me also told me that he left a voice mail message for me, telling me the Monday appointment was cancelled. Then, another Lemon Squad employee e-mailed me to tell me that I would have received the e-mail listing the cancellation if I had given them the correct e-mail address. Again, one person told me they left a voice mail message on a phone they had called at least twice on Friday, and then another employee told me that they sent the cancellation information through e-mail. There were no voice mail messages from Lemon Squad. It seems as though Lemon Squad employees cannot keep their lies straight. I told the gentlemen who called me on Monday (1/12) (supposedly the owner of Lemon Squad) that I believe his company's employees lie and that his business practices are unethical. I realize that they might not appreciate being asked to stop lying, but all they had to do was stop doing so. They apparently find it more appealing to blame it all on me, to the point that they called the person I'm doing business with to try to make me look bad to him. These people are arrogant, and seem to think that they can say whatever they want to whomever they want with absolutely no ramifications for their actions. The owner of the company (on 1/9) told me all the reasons that they would not cancel the order and send a refund. That was the last I heard from Lemon Squad until Monday (1/12) at about 3:00 PM Central (just after they didn't show up for the inspection), when I called them to find out why they had not showed up for the inspection. I first found out about the cancellation on 1/12, just after the inspection was supposed to occur (as stated in the original complaint). If I had been told of the cancellation, why in the world would we (the seller and myself) have been expecting the inspection to take place at 3:00 PM Central on 1/12 as originally scheduled? Lemon Squad never told me that they would cancel the inspection and send a refund before the inspection was to occur. Lemon Squad lied yet again when they told me that I was notified. Lemon Squad did, in fact, send the refund but they did not tell me before the scheduled inspection day/time that was being done. When I first placed the order, I told Lemon Squad that I needed the inspection done right away or I might not have been able to buy the car. I think the company became upset at me because I would not just allow them to continue lying to me. When I asked them to stop lying, they decided to cancel the order and not tell the seller or me about it until after the fact. read more

I used Lemon Squad to inspect a 1976 Jeep at a dealer 10 hours drive from me. The inspector was there the next day after placing the order and I had a detailed report the following day. The $250.00 fee was more than worth it as the vehicle was not as advertised and saved me a 3 day trip to go get it. We used this company to purchase an RV since this was our first RV purchase we wanted to be sure it was a reliable. They did the inspection in May and by the 2nd week in June we discovered that their report was completely bogus. Our RV has 3 spots where it is delaminating and will cost $15,000 to fix. The generator doesn't work, the awning has holes in it, the linoleum is ripped and curling, and it was infested with mice. We contacted the company who basically said too bad, but have a nice day. read more

The inspector was good and took his time to inspect the car and explain what he was looking for and the important things to look for yourself. Lemon squad impressed me in so many ways. First, when I cancelled an inspection, a service representative called to advise me that it would be best to put the service "on hold" so I didn't lose the non-refundable cancellation fee of $25. When I reactivated the inspection on another car, the owner of the car started making excuses to delay the inspection (very suspicious). Nevertheless, the Lemon squad persisted in trying to contact him to see if it would be possible to proceed. When that fell through, they simply put my order back on hold. Third time lucky, when I instructed then to activate my (twice held) inspection on a third car, they had contacted the owner within minutes of my e-mail and promptly set up an inspection for the next business day. The inspection seemed very thorough, plenty of pictures were provided, and I was able to go ahead and make my decision on the car. One thing I will say is that Lemon Squad have extremely good customer service, they respond lighting fast to queries. I strongly recommend them. read more

I feel compelled to write this review to warn consumers everywhere not to do business with this company.I just finished filing a complaint with the BBB to get my money back and to have a formal apology made. I contacted this company in good faith and at a desperate time to help me out and have a van inspected. They told me the inspector was going to go on his day off ? [sunday] and do it.I thought geez thats dedication but they also said they were going to contact the van owner on saturday. So that would be 24 hrs notice on the weekend. A red flag went up but I decides to let them proceed and take care of business on their terms. Like I said I was hard up for time. Well needless to say they never hooked up so it was rescheduled again for the next week. This was also shot down. I called and voiced my concern and meanwhile another week was lost. I just couldn't understand how 2 adult parties like this couldn't coordinate. I was hearing how it was the other persons fault and i didn't want to judge just wanted to get the job done. And so I decided to give it one more time strike 3. Well I was let down again with both parties pointing the finger. So that makes 2 weeks down the drain. If you have a time sensitive job these people will drive you crazy. I truly dont know if my van owners at fault but the bottom line is I said thats it Ive had it I dont need your services anymore. I wanted my money back and I was told that in was in the contract all they could do was put the job on hold and that they would inspect another vehicle when I found one. So I responded by saying that this whole experience had sickened me and that I just wanted to buy new at this point. Then it was told to me that this would count and that I could have my "new vehicle" inspected by them. Thats when I realized I was in a fight and I had to go the BBB for help. I never heard anything more ludicrous in my life that I could have a brand new vehicle which is guaranteed to be inspected for $243.99 wow what a deal what a company what the hell are they doing in business in 2018. I have went to my bank and have disputed my payout. I also have filed with the BBB. Thats about it I guess. My assumption is that this is a small family company who do all their work on computers and phones that try to mandate a schedule that is highly unreasonable. Also I dont think they have the man power that they advertise. My man was over 60 miles away and tried to get permission to inspect the van for 10 minutes. It is just a whole load of b...shit. Their rinky dink way of doing business will drive you nuts not to mention eat up all you time. All I can say is Im not a satisfied customer and I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. Not a pleasurable experience. Im still fighting for my money. Its just disheartening in this day and age they can try to get away with this and in a country where scams are so frequent. I found Andy's listing for his Scion xD on Craigslist shortly after he placed it. Andy was more than accommodating through the whole process and gave us a great deal on the car. I admit I was a little suspicious when he answered his phone with, "Lemon Squad." I was a little skeptical at first, having never heard of his business. But the title, CarFax, everthing was clean and clear. He took great care of the car, as you might expect, and had added some nice upgrades. Unfortunately I am in exactly the same position as Rod G. I'm also in Western Australia and imported a 1964 Chevrolet Impala going off their report. Yes they found some issues, as I was expecting being that it is a 51 year old vehicle, but it wasn't until I got it here and up on a hoist I saw that it needs a total under carriage restoration as a minimum. floor pans, braces and sills totally rusted out, patched together with mesh, bondo and fibre glass. Every suspension component and rubber piece under car needs replacing. Report says all ball joints fine, yet front two are split and leaking grease, i know it's not a big job but just shows their incompotent inspector did not even look. NONE of this was mentioned in report except for chassis has minor surface rust- normal for age and squeak from front right corner. They've offered my inspection fee back, $300 but that's nothing compared to the at least 15k will cost to fix. I told them i'm going to leave bad reviews and their response was " that is your choice, i hope it makes you feel better" just goes to show they really don't care. I don't want anyone else to get ripped off so please spread the word,and any advice on where else I can name and shame them would be great, they don't deserve to be In business. read more

I asked them to cancel my order past the 3 hour point (it is their policy not to cancel an order after 3 hours) and the owner personally called me and said he'd do everything he could to put my order on hold. Then when I did the inspection they went out of their way to deal with a test drive for a tough to deal with dealership in Florida. The owner again called me and personally worked with me on the issue. The report was thorough and complete and the owner wanted to make sure I didn't drive all the way from Florida to Iowa without them test driving it first. This company is tops for me! read more

We recently had Lemon squad check out a motor home. We relied on the inspection information and purchased the rv. Unfortunately, the inspection failed to check the slide outs thoroughly. The main slide out had some jury rigged tracks on it, which required repair. The bedroom slide out is soaked, has dry rot and will require a lot of repair on our part. This makes us wonder if the engine inspection was any good, we feel totally ripped off, and pretty dumb to think we relied on this inspection. We did purchase the unit, we are into it for all these repairs, plus we will have the engine checked locally. We are just so sorry purchased the rv and relied on Lemon Squads report. Very poor company management. I spoke with a woman named Regan who is apparently the owner, manager, and customer service rep. I had major issues and discrepancies from the inspector's report to what a mechanic found (the car was unsafe to drive off the lot but received a "C" from the inspector and deemed safe). I did get my money back for the inspection but am not both without a car and $8,000 in the hole because of certain things in the inspection that were deemed fine but were not (brakes, ball joints, cadillac converter, etc.). When I called I explained that I was pleased with the customer service and timeliness of the inspection, but could not understand why there were such discrepancies from the report and what a mechanic found 2 days later. Had I had known about the brakes, ball joint, and cadillac converter I would not have purchased the vehicle. That being said, I understand some of the blame lies on myself, however, when I called I could never speak to management, they only deal with written complaints through their website. So, I wrote my concerns and followed with a phone call and Regan told me that management was handling the claim. I kept asking to speak with management and she said that they would be in touch with me and would not transfer me. Then I receive a refund of the money and a not so pleasant email from Regan without any explanation as to how the inspector missed all the other car defects. I called Regan to talk about why the report was so wrong and she yelled at me and told me to go to the dealer, she then proceeded to tell me she was inactivating my account (deleting my reports and all evidence of correspondence with her), as well as blocking my number from the company. As a single mother, I try to invest my money wisely which is why I looked to this company to inspect my vehicle. And while I anticipated some problems to be overlooked by the inspector, the extent of this company's shortcomings has cost me thousands of dollars and I am now without a car. read more

We bought a car in Fishers Indiana. We used lemon squad to check out and test drive the car we ended up purchasing. The report we got back on the car showed a lot of pictures and we were made aware of some minor exterior scratches both in the typed up report and pictures that were uploaded by the technician. What we were extremely surprised about was that the technician never took nor reported the claw like marks on the rear passengers side arm rests (most likely from previous owners pet). One side of the car was much worse with claw marks than the other side but it was definitely noticeable when we picked up the car. I can't figure out how this was missed and we would of used this as part of negotiating with the dealership to get replaced before we purchased. Also it was not mentioned that each tire was a mismatch. No four tires were the same. They all had good tread as was reported but were all different brands. (which from doing some research online can lead to misalignment and poor gas mileage. Bought a whole new set of tires as a result. The leather arm rests will be about 300 bucks for both sides to get replaced. Just surprised because these are easily noticeable flaws that I would expect as a consumer to be made aware of by a technician who is paid to show out of state buyers what cosmetic flaws the car may have. I don't think I would use them again just because every mechanic is going to be different and may not care to report the things which can make or break a deal. read more

Lemon squad saved the day for me. I have been looking for a specific vehicle and I found one on the east coast (I live in the midwest). The first vehicle I was interested in was sold before the Lemon Squad inspection, Lemon Squad said they would leave the order on hold until I needed them again. The very next day I found another vehicle on the east coast and notified Lemon Squad. They went out the very next day and had the report to me the following morning. In the meantime, we had booked our flights and a room for the trip to get this new vehicle. Well as it turned out the vehicle came back with some major issues that I am sure we would not have detected. In all fairness to the dealer they may not have known either. I made the decision to let this vehicle go and to keep looking. I called Lemon Squad for further definition of the issues to ensure we were reading them right. The owner was very knowledgeable and willing to explain the findings. He even offered if we had anymore questions to call him. Their customer service and being able to talk to a real caring person has made our family a Lemon Squad user and promoter. Thanks Lemon Squad! if i could give zero stars i would!!!!! do not ever in life use lemonsquad.com. i cannot speak to the mechanics but the person who answers the phone reagan is the rudest person i have ever dealt with in my life. she does not know how to speak to people and next i will be reporting the company to the better business bureau as a whole. she tells you one thing and then the next day its another. i am a fair person and i tried to talk reasonably with her instead she just persisted on being rude. again do not ever use lemonsquad.com and i will continue to go on every website to make people aware of this company!!!!!! read more
