I did not like how I felt super upsold once I was on the bed receiving my facial. It was as if my facialist waited until I was in the most compromised position to spew all the upgrades and additional treatments. Especially if you're going to try to sell me on something like laser treatments I definitely would prefer to have some literature on that beforehand. I hated having to make decisions with my eyes shut while someone was touching my face. It just felt wrong. Not to mention the furthest thing from relaxing. I wouldn't go back for a facial here, overall I think that everything (the front desk, location, cleanliness, etc...) is fine, I just don't feel comfortable with the sales approach. I booked my partner at the same time slot with Jesse. I have had him before and he is very good. Overall, if you go REGULARLY, the membership is definitely worth it. I called to transfer two 90-minute massages to my husband and my mom. I was told the transfer fee was $10 per transfer ($20 total), which was completely reasonable and consistent with what I've paid in the past. I try to transfer every 6 months, which is or was their policy (although not sure what it is now). Fast forward to checking my credit card statement, and I discovered I had been charged $20 per transfer -- $40 total, instead of the $10 per transfer--$20 total I was expecting and confirmed on the phone. I called the location to get clarification, and was told that they had not transferred my two 90-minute massages (even though this was confirmed on the phone). Instead, they transferred **FOUR 1-hour massages** because, according to the employee, "you didn't have any 30-minute massages in your account." Which, I absolutely wasn't told at the time. I told her That makes absolutely no sense to me. I have 9 hours of massages in my account, so I don't understand how this resulted in four 1-hour massages being transferred instead of the two 90-minute massages I specifically requested (and was confirmed on the phone during transfer) simply because I didn't have ant "30 min massages in my account". My biggest issue is that I was never informed that they were changing my request. If the location could not transfer two 90-minute massages as requested, I should have been told BEFORE making the change and certainly before being charged an additional $20. I did not authorize either the transfer of four massages or the $40 charge. When I questioned why I wasn't contacted before making this change, the response was essentially, "I don't know, I wasn't the one you talked to." I then asked to speak with a manager, only to be told that the manager was "too busy." That is not acceptable, and is very confusing to relay to my 70-year old mother who now has to make two separate appointments and schedule two separate caregiver times for my dad who has Parkinson's instead of 1 time out of the house. Mistakes happen, but what matters is how a business handles them. In this case, I was charged more than I authorized, my request was changed without my knowledge or consent, and when I tried to get an explanation, I was unable to speak with a manager. I am canceling as soon as I get rid of my 9 hours of massages (oh--I have so many because availability of therapists is poor and therefore they are hard to use).
