So i called Lena hair Salon, and was amazed that her prices for highlights started at $45!! so i made an appt and got my hair highlighted Thursday, March 18, 2010. Lena did a wonderful job!! BEAUTIFUL white blonde highlights, not a cheap yellow or trashy look, but PERFECT HIGHLIGHTS!! My hair is medium long, and i only paid $55!!! This is my second review of Lena's work and I am happy to add to my experience a couple of years ago. So my friend is Filipino/Chinese and has amazing jet black hair for her age which is 70. So I made an appointment and Lena was able to get us in later in the day. The place was busy, but she remembered me and my friend Cynthia and immediately knew how to cut and style her hair. The only decision was length. The result was a gorgeous cut and styling that made Cynthia look 10 years younger and has made her smile the whole week since. There are a lot of salons in Spokane, but it is hard to find a family-run business who care about their customers more, and put forth extra effort to make them feel welcomed and of course to remember how to make that person look better leaving than they arrived. Also I tried to call several times without resolution.In response, my hair was not box dyed that's a lie, it was professionally done until my gal quit. The before photo You can clearly tell was altered my hair did not look like that, it was fuzzy and blurry. If I could give 0's I would. The owner chopped away at my hair like she was trimming hedges, I took 5 pics of the exact same cut and color I was after. She said no problem, $320 I about fell over, but with a major corporate meeting and court I was desperate. I looked her up, and she used good products. Same that I use at home. She burned my head with the heating device she used and when I complained she acted like I was dumb. I told her to come check the foils. They were on fire! She then soaks my entire head in freezing water. Afterwards had the audacity to ask what's wrong? I'm like well my head hurts and then she takes a rat comb across my scalp. I was so upset. Woke up the next morning with blisters all over my head. Hurt and itched so bad!! I tried stopping by to show her my scalp and she wasn't there. Twice! I'm getting an attorney, getting my money back! 5 prescriptions later and 2 weeks off work I luckily didn't lose any hair. What a scary disaster. 5 prescriptions, 2 doctors appointments, 2 missing paychecks later. I'm so glad I took many pictures of the stages of misery. My doctor said, "because of this I may always have problems with getting my hair done because of the head trauma". I'm so upset. The blisters have healed, but when I use purple shampoo I feel a slight burn and tingle. I've called her and she doesn't care. When my attorney gets a hold of her maybe she will. read more

I have been going to Lena's Hair Salon for a couple years now and have always been satisfied! The first two photos I have posted are from the last time I got my hair done by Lena and I was very happy with the results. However, today her daughter Leanne did my hair and she did an amazing job doing a balayage! I have never gotten a balayage before and I am so pleased with her talent. I feel like my hair is definitely Pinterest worthy now. This salon is very affordable and gets the job done on the first try. They are very honest with pricing right when you walk in and tell you how much everything costs which is why I am confused with the reviews on here. I find it interesting the times Lena responds to customer complaints (Which are way too many) With the comment," I checked my client book and you were not a customer!" If we were not a customer, then why would any of us make a bad review to this beauty Salon. Lena's responce that there are too many children hair cuts? I came here two days ago and she BUTCHERED MY HAIR. it was HORRIBLE. I called ahead and she told me she charged 60 for a perm and I don't remember what the estimate was for my friends color. So I came in with my friend. When we got there she said it would be $150 for a perm and $95 for my friend to get JUST highlights ( who has should length hair). After debating, she talked me into getting it even though it was $90 more than she said it would be. She said she would give me a discount for calling ahead, so it costed $110. I sat down with my friend and she foiled her hair ( USING LESS THAN 30 FOILS, FOR $95). I have quite a few hair professional hair dressers in my family and the general rule of thumb is $35 for 30 foils etc. Then she put the curls In my hair. After my friends hair got done, she liked it but it WAS NOT WHAT SHE ASKED FOR. then she had her 17 year old daughter style her hair( who put WAY to much leave in conditioner in it). I don't care how much she knows, she should have NOT been touching any irons in a professional salon at 17. Then when she was rinsing out my hair she admitted to me that she had left another costumers dye in too long, AND LAUGHED ABOUT IT. I felt okay about my perm when it was wet, it was a slight curl when she put moose in it. She said she would give me a trim, and do it for free. And the cut was AWFUL. 45 mins after I left the salon, my hair was flat and frizzy. I called the next day and said it was straight and she told me to come in. When I got there i did not want her to even touch my hair again. She tried to get me to sit in the chair and wash it, but I refused. When I pay $110 for a perm, I expect it to be a DAMN GOOD perm, the first time. Especially when I was hesitant on spending the money after she told me it would be 60. Everyone knows that doing this is bad for your hair, even if a saving solution was used. She wanted to perm my hair again the day after! I asked if I could just have my money back and she started yelling at me and said no. The hair cut she gave me was so bad that 1/4 of my hair is way longer than the rest and it's super noticeable. She was very unprofessional about it and I'm turning her in to the BBB and the board of cosmetology. I have never been so upset. Needless to say I will NEVER go back and if anyone cares about their hair they will not leave it in her hands. read more

I came to this salon to get a perm done and the experience was not pleasant at all. First they had me sitting in a head shower for 20 minutes as she worked on another customer. When she came to get me my scalp was burning like crazy. After that she had me sit still as she only put 3 coils in my hair after I said I wanted many tighter smaller curls. She said "no this is how you do it", when she said that I stated again "I want smaller tighter curls" and she just walked away. when the whole process was done she completely ripped me off for a perm that was quoted 80$ and she charged me 185$. Not impressed by the way people can act nowadays, and it disgust me how they cut corners and overcharge to keep themselves afloat from all the bad reviews.( this was on Monday, august 3rd.) I had to cut all my hair off because of the way she messed up my scalp and hair. read more

I highly recommend this place. i came in with black box dye in my hair and walked out of the salon very impressed. the staffs were super nice and supported me through the whole process because i was super nervous coming in. i went to this other salon and asked for a grey balayage and they refused to do my hair because it wouldn't be light enough. but lenas salon got me to my color and was very impressed with the end results. read more

I really enjoyed my haircut from Lena. I got there a bit early and she started right away, and listened to exactly what I wanted. All I wanted was a 1 inch trim straight across. As simple as sounds, most hairdressers get overzealous and want to cut more, try to convince me that I have dead ends, which I know I don't. Or they try to give me layers or talk me into things that I don't want. Lena was super friendly and didn't try to upsell me on anything. I brought my own hair products and arrived with wet washed hair. I'm very particular on hair products and only use mine. She didn't give me any grief.
