The light ash brown came out NEARLY BLACK. I had just spent 16 weeks, 3 half day appts and over $1000 getting dark brown OUT of my hair at my local salon in CA. I am beyond upset. She then said it would take 30 minutes to fix (after I just went through this process at my local salon, I know a 30 minute apt will not fix the issue without burning all of my hair off). By the way, he still has an active online booking calendar. Thom and I spoke at length about my cut and color before he started. For 3 hours he "worked"on my hair and then told me what I owed him. Shocked I said, aren't you going to use foils and color my hair? His reply, "Oh foils are so expensive. I just gave you a reset. Let's do your color next time". Since we were already 3 hours in I agreed to this odd request. Turns out Thom isn't physically able to do hair anymore. My hair is a shaggy mess. He barely trimmed the ends and didn't color it at all. He suddenly retired a couple days after he left my hair uncompleted and he refuses to refund my money because he "doesn't like my tone". I spoke to the owner of the salon whose only reaction was pity for Thom and his troubles and anger and aggression when I requested my money back. He said, "Just take the hit. Maybe one of my girls can get you on their schedule to fix your cut". Aggressive and sexist in the same sentence. Very professional. He entirely missed my point that his buddy was fraudently representing himself as a capable hair stylist while working in his salon and actively booking appointments while he was unable to hold a pair of scissors, and then charging more than $200 for all the things he didn't do. I spoke with the owner, Janel, and she said "OF COURSE, we can get you taken care of!!!" She had me fixed up with an "appointment midafternoon tomorrow, OK?" I told her I was grateful for whatever I could get as long as it was in time. When I walked in, she was ready and waiting, asked me just how I'd like my styling done and if there were any other services I'd need, then she went right to work. When she was done, I have to admit, I LOOKED GREAT, thanks to her skills. She is as they say ... truly a Master of the Arts! When I got home and showered I found many chunks of hair that was longer than other parts. These are scattered threw out my hair. I even have a piece that is 2ins shorter than the rest of my hair right on the back of my head. I have to wear a hat whenever i go out. I can't afford another haircut right now.
