I'm glad we found this place while on a road trip across Route 80. It's only about a mile from the interstate. They offer authentic Polish home cooking at great prices. We both had a plate of 6 pierogis...a generous portion for only $5. They were delicious and bore no resemblance to the frozen ones you get in the supermarket. read more

Many changes since we were last there . I know the cost of eggs are up but the pirogies were all potatoe . It looked like a wonton . Last time we were there they were flat and squared . The sauce on the blooming onion was barely there . We tried to guess the flavors of the three packages we purchased , good luck . I make the sauce at home easy and cheap, as for the onions I could count on one hand how many onions were in the container. I did not want to go there but you did . Great Pierogies and Haluski. I noticed this place acouple weeks ago while driving by. There were people outside waiting to pick up orders. I asked how it was and they all got big smiles and said great. Yesterday May 21st while driving by I desided to stop and place a order. Pierogi orders are a minimum of 6 per flavor. Tried the Potato, Sour Cream & Chive and Hot Hungarian Pepper. Loved them all but will say the flavored ones were the Best. Haluski was very good, no doubt the best I've ever had. While waiting for my order i obsereved a continuous flow of people picking up orders. Due to Covid19 they were only doing take out orders. I highly recommend trying Lenas Pierogi House. It takes a lot for me to give a negative review. But when the establishment doesn't respect the customers time. After driving for 20 minutes, made it at 7:26. The door was locked as I witness people working in the background. I tried calling nobody picked up. They say the last order needs to be put in a half hour before closing, which I made.It says open until 8 PM on Wednesday, they should clearly states somewhere that they will close at random then not answer the phone. I have photos to back up everything in this statement. After returning the next day at 6:00 pm and able to order and sit and eat the food was great also took a some frozen ones and they tasted as good as being at the restaurant. The food is pretty good, if I was to be picky, I would say the portions are to large. Cannot eat all of it, then food goes to waste. I Got the kielbasa and kraut sandwich, there was so much kraut, it was hard to try to hold, and the kraut was sweet, I like it more sour. Small little place, but could not have been happier after dinner. We stopped in 40 mins before close, staff was still more than happy to accommodate us. Piergoies were delicious, stuffed to the brim. Got the cheddar and the Hungarian hot pepper and both were delicious. You could actually taste the flavor of the cheddar and the hot pepper was a perfect level of spice. We were visiting the area and found this restaurant online. Five of us drove to Hubbard to try Lena's food. We were all VERY happy with the food's taste, quality, and portions. Due to this stupid virus we could only carry out (local requirement NOT Lena's), so she directed us to Harding Park (about a mile away). We ate our food in this beautiful park and totally enjoyed the experience! You should try the pierogis! I tried the cheddar, Asiago, and potato pierogis, and was very happy with my choices!
