When in the PA area, pierogies are a must. This spot is an unassuming storefront in a busy plaza with a sign just saying "pierogies" - they have delicious homestyle food in generous portions with homey decor and warm service. Bonus points for the patio out back and wide variety of pierogi filling options, including buffalo chicken (def not traditional), sweet fillings, and seasonal specials (check out the sign by the register). We shared a #1 plate (potato and onion pierogi with onions, stuffed cabbage, and green means) and a $15 (goulash over potato and onion pierogi) - portions were large, everything was very fresh, and flavors were on point. I could have stopped about 2/3rds of the way through my meal but left stuffed because I just couldn't stop myself and don't really have access to this style of food back home.

This was a great lunch! I randomly came across it while visiting someone in the hospital near by, and I'm glad i did. They have so many options on their menu but there is something for everyone. You can tell they make their dishes with care and the ladies behind the counter are great at explaining everything!

4.5 stars overall. Forgotten Taste Pierogies restaurant sells pierogies and some other foods that are mostly Eastern European. Flavors of pierogies include potato, potato cheese, potato bacon, potato sauerkraut, sauerkraut, lekvar prune, potato cheese jalapeno, cottage cheese, spinach ricotta, spinach feta, roast beef, sausage, cheese pepperoni, buffalo chicken, and some seasonal flavors. Other foods include stuffed cabbage, stuffed pepper, kielbasa, haluski, goulash, borsch, some desserts, etcetera. Many of the foods are available as either hot/ready-to-eat for dine-in or cold/frozen for takeout. For about a decade, I have bought foods from this restaurant. During my most recent visit, two employees promptly and politely served me. The restaurant contained some tables and chairs, but I always eat my foods at home. I rate the potato pierogies, potato-cheese pierogies, sauerkraut pierogies, and red borsch as 5 stars. I rate the potato-sauerkraut pierogies, haluski, stuffed peppers, stuffed cabbage, and kielbasa as 4 stars.

The cheese pierogi's are great. She had the cabbage roll and said it was good but I doi not eat them. The meatballs in gravy are not bad. I do not like their goulash as not a lot of flavor, but not bad. 3 cheese & pepperoni....just don't, sorry!

Delicious food and generous portions! The seasonal pierogis were a standout--unique, flavorful, and definitely worth trying.

This place has excellent pierogies and classic Polish favorites like stuffed cabbage and halushki. I got a combo meal that included 4 pierogies, stuffed cabbage, and green beans. I also tried a small side of the halushki. The pierogies were outstanding, definitely my favorite part of the meal. They are boiled, rather than sautéed, so they are soft outside and fluffy inside. The restaurant is clean and neat with a small, casual seating area. Everyone lines up at the counter to order and there was a line with a few people when I went on a Friday evening around 7:00 PM. The ladies working behind the counter were friendly and attentive. I will definitely be back for the pierogies in the near future.

Fresh and delicious as always. Fast and excellent service! Always get one to eat here and take one to go!

Now, stop imagining, because Krakus Polish Deli & Market in Boardman, Ohio, is that magical land, and it is the holy grail of pierogies, kielbasa, and all things Polish food-related. If you haven't been yet, your taste buds are straight-up missing out. First of all, let's talk pierogies, these little pockets of heaven are to die for. Like, not even exaggerating. I tried the classic cheese and potato ones, and I'm pretty sure I saw a light flash before my eyes. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, these pierogies are so good they should be illegal. But wait--there's more! They do weekly pierogi specials, and trust me, each week is a new flavor adventure you won't want to miss. The cabbage roll; Heavenly. The sausages... Let me tell you, if there's a better kielbasa on the planet, I don't know it. The market is like a treasure chest of authentic Polish foods, we're talking everything my Polish grandfather used to keep stashed around the house, like sauerkraut pickle jars (which I'm 100% sure he got directly from the motherland), obscure teas, crunchy wafers, and probably some mysterious cured meats you didn't even know you needed in your life. And then there's the prices. I don't know how they're doing it, but you could feed an entire village of hungry Babcias (grandmas) on a budget here. Incredible value, folks. But--here's the catch--the hours are... um, "quirky." Like, if you're planning to roll up for a late-night pierogi binge, you might want to double-check their hours because they close early. It's kind of like they really want you to enjoy the pierogies, but on their schedule. So, don't be that guy who rolls in at 7:15 pm and finds the door locked. Trust me, I've been that guy. So, check the hours, make sure you're ready to dive headfirst into some of the best Polish food you'll ever eat, and prepare to have your mind--and stomach--blown. Krakus is like stepping into your Polish grandma's kitchen, if your grandma was a magical food wizard who had a secret stash of pierogies she didn't share with anyone. GO HERE. Seriously. If I could give this place 6 stars, I would.

Let me describe Cop Out like this…read more.. Think of any Friday during lent. Walking hand in hand with your grandma. Uphill, usually in the rain or, more likely, snow flurries. Think of walking into the basement of her old, very old, church. Looking around at all the old white haired ladies, (old is relative now...) as they smile and have a word or two or ten for everyone who walks into the door. Think of the smell of frying onions. Frying in lots and lots of butter. Grandma taking you by the hand, telling shy you to say hi to her friend Dorothy or Deloris or Irene. (No Taylors or Brianna's here, thank you very much). Grandma let's go of your hand while she digs into her little change purse for her rolled up bills and some loose change on the bottom. She smiles at you as she hands you an extra quarter - you smile back because you know that means cake at the little table in the back of the room. Grandma takes two plates, each holding a handful of lightly pan fried, doughy (but not too doughy) pierogis. Covered in fried onions and dripping with butter. A dollop of sour cream on the side. Today it's potato and sauerkraut. Last week was potato and cheese. I can't wait to see if next week is farmers cheese. If you can close your eyes and remember that walk. If you can still see Gladys. If you can still taste the buttery onions. If you can still feel the love that you and your grandma shared. If you can do all of this, then I can guarantee you will love Cop Out. For those of you who have never experienced pierogis purchased in a church basement during lent; I still guarantee you'll like Cop Out. I live 800 miles away. I can't think of a single church that serves pierogis, especially homemade ones. We are in the Deep South, afterall. I do take my grandkids to fish fries during lent. I hope I'm making similar memories for them, though even the best piece of fish fry fish is no match for the pierogis that both the church ladies and Cop Out dish out.

You get 14 to an order with caramelized onions included and optional sour cream for a bit extra. All 3 flavors were delicious! I appreciated that they asked if we wanted them separate or if we were going to share. We wanted to share, so they put them all on one plate for us. I can't wait to come back and try more flavors!
