Loved it! Drove here after leaving Newburyport on our way to Ogunquit. The person who took our order was so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. See picture! Clam chowder was milky/creamy and tastes great. Their tartar sauce was great as well.

They are always so friendly and after having 5 seafood platters from the area this summer I can honestly say Lena's is at top of list. Hot, crispy, light, fresh, tender & sweet.... And always a clean establishment.

The counter staff was very helpful explaining items on the menu. I got a half-plate of fried clams Nate really enjoyed. The onion rings were also very good. I would definitely eat here again if I was in the area. I ordered carry out, but inside seemed like a perfect place to enjoy your meal.

Nice cozy seafood restaurant and drive thru with window service and pickup plenty of seating for a nice comfortable meal. Got a lobster roll and it wasn't too big or too small was just the right size with plenty of meat both claws and body. Onion rings were perfect as well the clam plate was plenty full both a combo of fries and onion rings. The service is pickup you order your food and they give you a number everything was excellent

I loved the atmosphere here. The chowder was a very simple, but tasty, Maine-style (or north shore style).

It is one of a handful of restaurants in Newburyport that continued strong (Park Lunch, the Grog, Thirsty Whale). It has a view of the Merrimac river and is next to the rail trail. The inside decor is classic and probably hasn't changed in decades, but it is comfortable and has that Oceanside charm. The service is always good. Christin has been our server a couple times and she is wonderful - funny, attentive and suggestions. You're always seated quickly. We sat on the outside, covered seating. The food is classic. We started with their clam chowder. That is excellent. The stuffed clams are probably the best in Newburyport. The iceberg wedge salad is amazing with generous blue cheese and bacon on a nice crispy wedge. Probably one of the best values in Newburyport. The onion rings are crispy and tasty. The fried clams are some of the best in the city. You can get a Budweiser for under six dollars. The prices are a good value with lots of good food. Don't expect fancy. But if you want to have an old school seafood meal, the Starboard Galley is the right place. If you want to grab a beer at there, old bar, enjoy it at a great price point.

Outdoor seating was ideal especially enjoying the summer air with my dog. The views are overlooking the marsh and wide open skies. After ordering, received a buzzer to alert when my order was ready. I ordered the seafood platter which was about $45 and a cup of chowder at $6.50. There are fountain options as well as alcoholic canned beverages. The seafood platter was piled high with perfectly fried haddock, clams, scallops, and shrimp. All the seafood was sweet, juicy, and tender. I substituted fries for onion rings for $3 extra. My chowder was also full of clam pieces and potatoes. The consistency was perfect too. I definitely recommend trying or coming here if you have a fried seafood platter hankering after a day in Newburyport or Portsmouth!

On a recent visit, we stopped by hoping to relive that experience. While the lobster roll didn't quite live up to the standard we remembered, the crew was friendly and accommodating, and the brioche roll was absolutely divine. Afterward, we learned the restaurant is now under new ownership, which may explain the difference. I hope the new team can recapture the quality and charm that made this place so memorable in the first place. P.S.: Just a suggestion: tartar sauce shouldn't be stored on the counter at room temperature like ketchup. It needs to be refrigerated to avoid any food poisoning.
