My husband and I wanted to take our honeymoon in March, so we went in early January to file our taxes. We were told by Ruben, who we've always worked with, we would receive our refund by early February. February passed and still no refund. I checked online and saw that my information was entered incorrectly. I immediately emailed. A few days later, Ruben called me saying I needed to call the tax boards to address the errors. After calling, I was told a check had been sent, to the wrong address and I needed to wait 28 business days to request new ones but my tax preparer could call them. When I texted Ruben asking for him to do so, I was left on read. Ruben had left out my apartment number and entered my routing number incorrectly (off by two digits), which caused my entire refund (electronic and check) to bounce back. What's frustrating is that I had filled out all my information clearly on a form in the waiting room. A simple clerical error like this has now led to months of delays & countless hours on the phone with the IRS and the California Franchise Tax Board. It's now May, and I still haven't received my refunds. I've called and emailed multiple times, asking to speak with a manager or the owner, asking for a call back, even requesting a refund of my service fees, no one has responded. No accountability, no follow-up. The ironic part? I paid $180, and the next day they called me saying I hadn't been charged enough, so I paid them another $50 out of respect for our long-standing relationship. That respect wasn't mutual. What if I were ever to be audited, how would I get support from a business that won't even return a phone call to fix a filing mistake they made? I'm writing out of serious disappointment. I genuinely hope they start treating loyal clients with the care and follow-through we deserve. If you decide to use them, just be aware of what you might be getting into.

Then during the CA housing insurance crisis happened. Not this agent but farmers insurance sent me an email that they will drop me from house insurance because they found damages to my roof or my roof cannot be insured or something. First time getting this type of an email of getting my house insurance dropped since i bought the house and i really need house insurance because my mortgage company will fine me if i don't have house insurance. I called this agent and when i asked what this is and how do they know my roof is damage? i'm not seeing any leaks or i don't even know where the roof damage is. They then said they will get back to me. which they didn't. i had to call them back many times and after getting couple of run arounds of this person is busy or this person will get back to me or call me. They never did. i finally called back again and this time i was able to talk to someone. They asked me to go on top of my roof and take some pictures of the roof and send the pictures to him. I'm not that fond of heights and i didn't want to get on my roof to take pictures but i did go up and took some pictures and sent it to the agent. Still no response after. Called them multiple times to just ask what is the status? Got the same run around. That person is not available, that person will call me back, and the person is on another line. and after couple of months still no response so i gave up. Then i finally got an email from Farmers that they will reinstate my insurance. The email came from Farmers not this agent who i was hoping that they will update me. And surprise surprise they tripled the insurance cost and blamed it on CA house insurance crisis. Can't believe a big insurance company like Farmers that I thought had a great reputation had to lie to their customers about their roof being damaged so that they can pull out from house insurance. The dishonesty is just wrong. Of Course there were no damage to my roof they were just making stories up to pull out during the CA house insurance crisis. When asked how did they assess the damage the agent from this agency says sometimes farmers will send someone out to take a look at the house or use drones to take pictures and evaulate the damage. NOPE THEY JUST USED GOOGLE MAPS SATELLITE IMAGES TO MAKE STORIES UP AND SAY YOUR ROOF IS DAMAGE. I found this out when i asked this agent what pictures they are referring to and asked if they can send me some pictures. Yup it was google maps/satellilte pictures. This agent actually made a comment that the pictures shows that there are some discoloring or something when farmers were looking at the pictures. I don't care if you don't have any updates to share with me. Its all about the customer relations which you guys failed. I was worried about the house insurance and kept calling you guys and you could have just text me or called me or left me a VM saying "we don't have any updates but i am following up and i will send you a message or a call as soon as i get an update." just a simple assurance that you as my agent are on top of it and have not forgotten. Thats all i asked. but no you guys dropped the ball. As soon as i was able to find another insurance that can insure me for my house and car insurace. I dropped this insurance agent/farmers. I was able to save over $1000 with the new insurance company. I just took whatever Farmers was asking me to pay because i really needed the house insurance. So Farmers raised the car insurance every 6 month i just paid. Farmers trippled my house insurance after going through all that i just paid. (No i didn't have any insurance claims on both my car and house during the many years i had with Farmers). I went through this motion for many years. After my dealings with them and how they handled my issues. I'm going to think twice before going with farmers again.
