I've been going to R P and Associates for years. I've driven out to both their Palmdale and Sylmar offices, brought friends and family, and always had a great experience--until this year. My husband and I wanted to take our honeymoon in March, so we went in early January to file our taxes. We were told by Ruben, who we've always worked with, we would receive our refund by early February. February passed and still no refund. I checked online and saw that my information was entered incorrectly. I immediately emailed. A few days later, Ruben called me saying I needed to call the tax boards to address the errors. After calling, I was told a check had been sent, to the wrong address and I needed to wait 28 business days to request new ones but my tax preparer could call them. When I texted Ruben asking for him to do so, I was left on read. Ruben had left out my apartment number and entered my routing number incorrectly (off by two digits), which caused my entire refund (electronic and check) to bounce back. What's frustrating is that I had filled out all my information clearly on a form in the waiting room. A simple clerical error like this has now led to months of delays & countless hours on the phone with the IRS and the California Franchise Tax Board. It's now May, and I still haven't received my refunds. I've called and emailed multiple times, asking to speak with a manager or the owner, asking for a call back, even requesting a refund of my service fees, no one has responded. No accountability, no follow-up. The ironic part? I paid $180, and the next day they called me saying I hadn't been charged enough, so I paid them another $50 out of respect for our long-standing relationship. That respect wasn't mutual. What if I were ever to be audited, how would I get support from a business that won't even return a phone call to fix a filing mistake they made? I'm writing out of serious disappointment. I genuinely hope they start treating loyal clients with the care and follow-through we deserve. If you decide to use them, just be aware of what you might be getting into. read more

Avoid this place at all cost. I did my taxes with Ruben and he made an error and he refused to correct. If you want to receive your taxes in a timely manner. Try to find another place even if they charge more. I corrected this error on my own, and didn't receive my tax refund till November. read more

Made an appointment weeks ago, this business was a referral from a friend. Was told they were work with lots of first responders, I thought great. Albeit it was 40 miles away through Los Angeles but I was going to try them out. This past Saturday in pouring rain, I make my trek for my 11am appointment. I am already over halfway there and my appointment was 30 minutes away, I get a call from the office that they have no internet. As you can imagine it's necessary to do their job. The office said a technician was coming at 12 and I could essentially go wait, unfortunately on my only day off that's not an option and had other things to do. They called at 1230, I was at my next appointment, couldn't answer and no voicemail left or text to reschedule. I call back, no answer. I text Sunday to reschedule, nothing. I text Monday to reschedule, nothing. Today, 3/26/24 I get a response that nothing is available and I can come as a walk-in to Sylmar. The people's appointments who couldn't happen because you didn't have the necessary tools to do so, should've had first priority and rescheduled ASAP. FRAUD!!!!!!!!! Please DO NOT go there!!! I submitted my taxes to them to get it done, they did not do them and the due date passed! After the due date passed, they wanted to charge me more because they knew I had no other option and the due date has passed. This tax company was handed down from father to son in better words; not the same. Doing taxes is like driving a car anyone can do them (heck even you can with turbo tax lol). The wife is the secretary upfront and she gives you a condescending look as if you're going to steal her husband. I have found a better tax guy who graduated from Harvard specialized in accounting and is legit to say the least ($). And that was my experience, but you can go if you please. read more

I text and call and no response . 818-943-7002 is his number he has now blocked and ghosted me . Ive been trying to contact the office as well and they're closed .
