Luckily they were able to have Kate (who was in training) do my cut. Boy was I lucky! Kate did a great job which is not easy for my hair which has four cowlicks that are difficult to manage. I received a friendly greeting from the receptionist when I arrived for a hair cut in early January. The salon was clean, had all of the usual items you might expect. I booked with Kipten, was not listed as one of their "master" stylists, but I expect that he will be in the future. I was so excited to get my hair highlighted and cut today. I had asked my boyfriend for a gift certificate to Lenka for my birthday, and made my appointment. I arrived 20 minutes early and was given a questionnaire. One of the required fields is a credit card number which must remain on file at the salon in case I miss an appointment. I NEVER put my cards on file. Not in today's world. When I explained that to the receptionist, she went to get the stylist who said that is is the owner's policy. To be fair, my certificate came with a list of policies. I reread the policies and NOWHERE was listed the credit card requirement. They offered to let me make a deposit which they would use if I don't show up in the future...WHAT????No. ......This would be a hefty 50% of the salon service requested. Then the owner tried to explain her policy, but honestly it's not my problem if her clients are no shows. I only wanted my hair done. So, to make a long story short, I didn't get my haircut, the stylist missed out on a huge tip, and I walked away from that salon forever. I would give zero stars for their policy if I could. The salon had a very fancy vibe and made me feel comfortable and safe with my hair. I wanted a simple highlight and a partial highlight with my prior highlights being revamped. The person who did my hair said i needed my old highlights toned down, and they added more highlights without reconnecting my old highlights, So my old highlights are not connect and more vibrant than my new highlights. My new highlights we not the color i wanted and some of them even turned red which is not what i wanted. I saw at the end how my old highlights weren't connect and were super vibrant so the person tried to reschedule a lowlights tone instead of just doing what i originally asked which was to get my old highlights redone. Well I have to admit I was a little hesitant about getting my hair done in Venice. It is a older community and was not sure the salons here were up to speed on the latest trends, as I just relocated from Tampa. I decided to try Lenka based on the yelp reviews and they were right on. I loved my experience. Olga did a fantastic job with my Balayage. She sat down with me first to make sure she knew exactly what I wanted. She was slow and meticulous with the process, which I greatly appreciated. I got brown based with caramel balayage, and it is beautiful. Might I add just.the way I wanted it. I brought my 78 year old mother with me and she got a cut with Ali, she looks great. She has been going to this salon in Englewood and her cuts have been terrible. They cut it the way they want and last time she had this shelf bump on the back of her head. Ali fixed it and mom looks beautiful. Lenka salon is warm and inviting and the stylists are all pleasant and nice to be around. They offer coffee, wine or a beverage. I will definitely be back. Unfortunately it's the people who have been here long time get pushed aside for the new. I walked in somebody was checking out at the desk , there were many people inside & 2 At the desk. I walked in and was greeted by several stylists. My appointment was with Olga. I found her to be delightful as well as caring. She set my mind right at ease. We had a consultation prior to her coloring my hair. She listened and offered suggestions I felt very relaxed when she was applying my color. She has a very calming presence. I had the keratin express treatment done today. I loved the vibe of the salon and all of the ladies working were very friendly and they ran on time. They offer coffee, tea, wine, or water upon entry which is a really nice touch. They use high end products and sell Moroccan Oil products, which I love. I am a visitor about 3x a year but will definitely come back and have my mother switch over to this salon. What a wonderful salon. Just moved to the area and had no recommendations from anyone so I looked at the reviews. Decided to give it a try and it was a great decision! Walked in to a smiling receptionist who greeted me like an old friend, offered me something to drink and said my hairstylist Jessica would be right with me. She was correct zero wait time, I was greeted by Jessica who sat me in her station and proceeded to really get to know what I wanted in a hair style. Did not rush me and we came up with a plan. Jessica is definitely a master stylist and I felt like I was in very capable hand since my hair was a mess coming through the door. I ended up loving my hair and made plans for highlights to help me transition to gray. I left the salon extremely happy and my hair hasn't looked this good in ages!!' Found my new happy place!! My hair is very long and thick and it is extremely hard to find someone that knows how to do some nice balancing layers that are not choppy. Thanks to Laura my layers look so beautiful! Several different people asked me if I needed anything, water, coffee, etc. while waiting for my hair to process. My stylist Debbie gave me a fabulous cut and did a beautiful job on my root touch up. If we end up staying in the area I will certainly be back. Prices seemed fair and right on parr with what I normally pay. My last appointment was in January 2020 and I was there for a 1:00 PM appointment with the owner Lenka and was not taken until 1:50 pm. I wanted highlights only and Lenka talked me into doing color process which would mean I would have to come every 4 weeks for touch up.
