The best thing about my Lennar home in Lively Ranch (Georgetown, Texas) is the lot location for…read morewhich I paid a significant premium. Although it's nice moving into a home where the only thing you need to bring are your clothes and your furniture, sadly there were no options to upgrade their bottom of the line plumbing fixtures, appliances, or flooring. The master bath has 2 sinks and minimal space to put things like a water pic, electric toothbrush or soap dispensers. There are NO drawers, linen closets or even a coat closet in the home. I learned after the fact that Lennar homes are not your top of the line, nor even your middle of the line homes. They are your value you homes and as such, I guess you get what you paid for. That said, I don't consider a $400k home to be cheap by any means, but I don't see it as a fixer-upper either. The City of Leander had a requirement that the landscaping and sod was to be installed on 6" of top soil and compost and with the exception of the front yard, the sod in the back was installed on road base with huge rocks sitting on top of the irrigation valves as well as rocks throughout the yard so drainage and sod growth eventually died in spite of watering as required. Lennar did bring topsoil and applied it throughout the backyard after I had a patio extension and irrigation rerouted. My biggest complaint that has yet to be resolved after 14 months of owning the home is that the so called "luxury" vinyl flooring has uneven seams with gaps between the planks throughout the house. The glue has seeped up through the seams and dried making cleaning the floor impossible (you have to boil water and use a spin mop to get them semi-cleaned). I had to have almost 400 square feet replaced due to "waves" in the flooring. The replacement resulted in more seam separation. They actually glue the planks to the cement. No padding, no floating strips. This is absolutely horrible. In hindsight I should have just replaced all the flooring prior to moving in and now it's a huge hassle. I'm still working with the Lennar customer care team and the local team member (who have been very responsive and contacted me in less than 24 hours) has been trying hard to get the last issue resolved to my satisfaction but his senior management refuses the remediation I'm requesting. Their flooring company (United Finishers) and Shaw Flooring material are substandard. If you are considering the purchase of a home built by Lennar, get references from the current residents and identify the issues that you might consider a problem and have a plan upfront to have them resolved before purchasing or closing on your home.

I called Lennar one Wednesday one week ago to have someone come out to look at my A/C unit because it was making a loud noise. My brother Richard who works for Blue Ribbon in Georgetown as A/C services person told me the motor was going out. Lennar had service set for the following Monday. by that Friday the unit completely stopped working and there was no air flow. I Call Lennar that ssturdy to no avail. Sunday (two days no A/C) I was able to get Airtron the company Lennar set up to come Monday and they made it out that day to tell me the motor was shot (6 months into my new home) its now Wednesday exactly one week since I called and still no fix A/C. Lennar said they would see what they could do today but I still have not heard from them @8pm in a 95 degree house is.
