If you are considering a build on your own lot with Sitterle Homes Austin, beware! Unless you are building in one of their developments, you will not be a priority to them. Initially, we found a home that we really liked. We signed a contract over a year ago (4/30), the salesmen said it would take approximately 7 months to build and complete our home. They have repeatedly used COVID as an excuse and we have tried to be understanding of that. However, since we poured our slab in August, they have started building and have opened several model homes to the neglect of their commitment to us. We were told at the end of Feb 2021 we would be in our home by March 26, 2021, with a contingency plan for unforeseen issues. Every week we get a new move in date, that they continue to miss. Up to this point we felt the quality of the home had met our expectations, but we are starting to see the detail is lacking. Things that are clearly not completed they want to put on a punch list for after we close. We have no faith in the contractors coming back out in a reasonable time to finish their jobs after we close. He is very giving of his time, knowledge, and is the most collaborative of the 3 Architects we have used on the 2 other custom homes we have built. As an example, even before we signed a contract he made multiple site visits to give us his friendly professional insight about several lots we were considering before we selected the property we ultimately purchased. He was extremely accommodating and friendly throughout the entire process. Collaboration is his priority from the beginning and he made it very convenient through the use of screen share as we designed the home together. We were really impressed with the architectural 3D model that Daniel created. It was amazing that we were able to have a computer-generated 3D model to visualize the complete exterior as well as the outdoor entertaining, outdoor kitchen, and the pool and spa area. We were able to have the majority of our meetings in the evenings after we got off work and we even did a screen share to collaborate on our laptop while we were out of town visiting family.
