We were holding a Rehearsal Dinner for our Son and his bride for family and close friends at Gallaghers Steakhouse as well as a welcome reception afterwards for everyone attending. We live in Florida and were not able to get back to NYC, prior to the big wedding weekend. We worked with Niko over the phone and discussed the room, room colors, our needs and thoughts. He then came back with some vase options and flower options and we then finalized the plan. The morning of event Niko sent us a shot of the first arragement--which was just simply gorgeous and exactly what we wanted. Reading over the other reviews below, I was sad to think about my experience, but here it is nevertheless. I had the unfortunate experience of working with George at Lenox Hill Florist (one of the three florists we were limited to choosing from by our wedding venue). While he seems like a very nice person and does know his flowers, he was very vague from our first meeting, but I wanted to believe the best in him so I kept working with him, despite that in the 3-4 times he promised to send me photos of particular flowers, arrangements, or events he'd done in the past, or vases/containers he was thinking of, he never once sent me a follow-up email/photo as discussed. During my 5-month wedding planning process, I was overly aware of the bridezilla effect and did not want to come close to that type of stress or putting my vendors through that, so I stayed relatively hands off, other than a few emails with photos and ideas to George, thinking that there's a chance he was probably really busy and would come through for me in the weeks leading up to the event. He never once told me exactly what flowers or colors I would be able to have in my centerpieces or bouquet, which I paid +$5k for in the end (despite me telling him what colors I'd like to use). In our third and last face-to-face meeting about 1.5 months before the wedding, we decided on the vase we wanted based on the samples George had at the shop. However, one week before the wedding, he calls me up to let me know that he can't get the vase anymore -they're all sold out - and he starts making other suggestions. While I understand vases do sell out, who's fault is it that he decides to start looking into supplies just one week before the event? And how is it possible that he cannot acquire the container from ANY distributors with 1.5 weeks notice? We found another container, which was smaller, but would do the trick. To top it off, on the afternoon at 2:30pm one day before my 11am Sunday wedding ceremony, George left me a voicemail: "Hey Jen, It's George from Lenox Hill. Just give me a call back when you have a chance. We have a problem. I have some other ideas for your flowers and just wanted to run it by you. Thanks." I missed the call, but called back one hour later, and each hour after that for the next three hours, but was never able to reach him and was never contacted by him either. Sunday morning arrives. We arrive at the venue with the bridal party expecting to meet George by 8:30am to pick up the bouquets and boutineers, but he is nowhere to be found. Yep, he was late ... so we weren't able to get started until 9:15am or so. And I found out after the wedding that the flowers/centerpieces I'd ordered for the cocktail tables were completely different from what we had agreed on. I guess that's the "other idea" he had. And they totally were not close to what I was envisioning for our wedding. I didn't expect "hand-holding" through this process, but a little pro-activeness and professionalism would have been nice. I would not recommend working with this particular florist, although the shop itself has very nice quality flowers and it sounds like some of the other florists at the shop are very professional! read more

I didn't want to hurt my b/f feelings so I called Lenox. They sent me a bouquet that was for Valentine's day. It looked like a bridal floral bouquet that they put in water. All flowers are pretty but it only lasted for 3 days the only reason it lasted that long was because they had it twisted up tight. Once I tried to take it apart to water it all the flowers fell apart. I told them I could have done better. He denied that it was them! Imagine I had the card from their establishment, blame me right! I told him I would have done better at the local deli spending $9.00. He said he will send me more flowers to make up for it, who cares! He can keep them the only reason I will accept is because he probably charged my b/f a lot. Especially on Valentines day, shessh they saw him coming. Rip off joint.. PS. I never heard back from him regarding my "replacement flowers either!". read more

September 14th was my birthday, today September 17th, my lovely husband presented to me this this bouquet just a three days ago and flowers already dead:( and also I hate plastic wrapping on flowers, and he said about this to them, but nobody listened the sold this bouquet in useless plastic wrap. I came here for my bouquet and the rest of the wedding party's flowers and they did a phenomenal job. They even gave us ladies for our bouquets a vase so we can preserve them and not have them laid down so the flowers can get ruined. They are reliable and I got exactly what I had described to them originally. I love this florist and for future events I WILL be going back. You should try them. read more

About a year ago I walked into Lenox Hill florist and while looking for an orchid, swung my backpack around, knocking over a handful of flower arrangements like dominoes. Despite this clumsiness, I was quickly re-assured that it was no big deal (although in my opinion it was probably a couple hundred bucks of flowers and glass on the floor). They were very helpful with my order and found an orchid that was perfect. Fast forward to current time and I had to take back a recently purchased orchid that had a few leaves peel off for some unknown reason. They quickly replaced it for me without any question, even though it was probably my own fault. We have used Lenox Hill Florist many times and have always been well-treated and provided with nothing but the best service and flowers. read more

I worked with Dennis for my shower, rehearsal dinner and wedding. He was recommended to me by a friend with very discerning taste...I knew we would be in great hands. He was such a pro at every point of the process and truly elevated each event with his beautiful arrangements. He listened to what our vision was for each party and executed perfectly and exactly on time. He also has a very calm energy and is easy to get on the phone and via email. We love Lenox Hill Florist and especially William for the exceptional work he put into our wedding. We knew immediately he was going to be great and a pleasure to work with., but he totally exceeded all of our expectations. Our centerpieces, chuppah, bouquets, reception tables and entire room were all stunning! Our guests have not stopped commenting on how fantastic everything looked. William was incredibly patient throughout the planning , worked within our budget without sacrificing appearance (it's NYC, so of course a bit pricey) and he was very insightful in understanding my vision. When I asked for some assistance the gentleman accused many times of not spelling it correctly and that he was too busy to talk to me. Do not go to this florist!!! William, the owner, is rude, does not value his customers, difficult to work with, is unaccommodating, and plain nasty. He sent me 2 orchids that died within 3 weeks and was completely unapologetic and seemed to have cared less. He said "I don't need customers like you." Take your money elsewhere! Important note - The merchandise in this establishment is probably four stars, but it is more of a place for events and not really the place to get a single bouquet. I had the pleasure of using Lenox Hill for my engagement party at the boathouse. George was my designer and he was absolutely Fabulous! His talent for creating my floral vision left myself and my guests speechless! From my first appt to the very day of my event George was there for me and made sure I had nothing to worry about regarding the flowers. My flowers were elegant and stylish and exactly what I was looking for! The only requirement my reception venue had was that we use one of their four recommended florists, and I'm so glad Lenox Hill was on the list! From the moment we reached out to them, it was clear they were the best option. Dennis was incredibly responsive, attentive, reasonable, and creative. I sent Dennis my Pinterest board, but since I'm not an expert on flowers, I entrusted Dennis with creating the arrangements based on the flowers I really liked and the colors I wanted. He organized the most beautiful bouquets, table arrangements, escort card board, welcome sign, etc. He was careful to incorporate both expensive and inexpensive flowers and greenery to be mindful of the bill. He also suggested skipping ceremony flowers since the church (St. Patrick's Cathedral) speaks for itself. Such a nice (and selfless!) suggestion. Every single guest and vendor was in awe of the flowers! He did an amazing job organizing everything and I am still in shock as to how beautiful it turned out! I walked into Lenox Hill Florist at 6:58 pm, two minutes before they were closing. I asked for a dozen pink roses, and the florist helping me (I think his name was Dennis) picked out a dozen and went through them one by one peeling of the outer petals. I was skeptical and thought the roses might have been past their prime and that he was just making them salable before they had to be thrown out. The salesman explained that in shipping the outside petals sometimes get damaged and they keep them on till they're sold as protection. He said that the roses were actually very recently arrived and pointed out how tight the flowers were. I was convinced and he started wrapping them up, and, as the other florists were starting to close up the store, Dennis told me that I should put the roses in warm water when I got home. I mentioned that I wouldn't be getting home for at least two hours. He grimaced and said that was too long, and even though the store was closing, he took back the dozen roses and said that if I wasn't going to get them in a vase for a few hours, he had to tube each stem. It took him a few extra minutes, but he trimmed the stems, filed a dozen tubes with water and put one on each stem, staying late to make sure the roses would thrive. When I finally got home my wife put the roses in a vase and now, two days later, she says they are spectaculer, the best roses ever. read more

We were married at the Central Park Boathouse November 2014, and one of CPBH's preferred florist vendors is Lenox Hill Florist. We met with all of the options, but during our first meeting with George it was obvious he knew CPBH like the back of his hand. This made us feel confident in our decision. During the planning process we went back & forth with George a few times on flower options & choices. He was very flexible and easy to work with. It's obvious he LOVES what he does, and takes pride in his work. He is creative and was able to provide suggestions & ideas of things we hadn't thought of. We've received countless comments & compliments on the flowers, candles, lights and décor, and we're confident that our wedding night would not have been as beautiful if George & the Lenox Hill team were not involved. I ordered 5 floral centerpieces for my Sunday luncheon party one week before the event. I spent a lot of time on the phone with the florist going over the details, even texting a photo of a centerpiece I found online that they had made that I loved and wanted duplicated. The arrangements were to be delivered to the restaurant on the afternoon before, as the florist was closed on Sundays. When I arrived at the venue just before the party, I found out the flowers were never delivered. A frantic call to the florist went unanswered as they were closed. Instead of having beautiful tables covered with autumnal flowers, I had tables with plain white tablecloths decorated with a few votive candles. A resourceful restaurant manager did run around the restaurant finding what small arrangements she could to fill the empty spaces, but this was a terrible experience for me as a hostess, and I would not recommend using Lenox Hill Florist for your event; they are not reliable. P.S. I spoke to the florist owner the day after my party, and he was completely unaware of the situation. He called me back the next day and told me that the centerpieces had been made but somehow never delivered because they were in the refrigerator "behind a box." read more

George/Lenox Hill Florist was recommended to me by a close friend and I'm so grateful for the introduction. I got married last month and George brought my unique vision to life beyond what I could've imagined. I always knew I wanted to use peacock and sword feathers in my centerpieces, but wasn't sure how to make it work. George incorporated vibrant lilacs and thistles to make stunning arrangements that complemented the feathers and were the talk of our wedding. Together, we sourced vintage and vintage-inspired brass vases. I loved working with George. He was responsive, creative, fun, and easy to work with. I couldn't have been happier with the way everything turned out -- from the bouquets to the boutinieres to the corsages to the centerpieces.
