Dr. Dillard was very rude and disrespectful to me as I checked in for my appointment at 10:13. My appointment was at 10am and the lady I spoke with on the phone at the time of booking my appointment told me do not worry about being right on time because the store doesn't open until 10. Staff are pleasant, but it took 3 visits for a relative to get new prescription glasses with the lenses correctly made and put into frames. The first effort resulted in a wrong lens, (not their fault) but the second effort also resulted in a wrong lens ( this time it was their error. On the third visit (hoping to pick up the finished glasses at last) was told that the lenses had arrived sometime in the past 3 weeks, but they had not been put into the frame! I asked that after the eye/contact lens exam, I would need my Rx for contacts (since insurance only covers glasses or contact) they said NO you can only buy contacts from us. False it is the law you must give the patient their Rx for glasses and contacts. Needless to say, I walked out and went to someplace else. The entire staff at LensCrafter's in Athens, GA welcomed us with enthusiasm and the desire to help us immediately with our time sensitive request. They were prompt, accountable and professional. Our family uses this LensCrafters. Honestly after a lot of experiences here in Athens, they are the number one option. Today our 15 year old son that is very accustomed to wearing his glasses went in for an exam and fitting for contact lenses. Sovonya is absolutely incredible at this location. She is talented and professional in what she does in the doctors office. She is especially A+++ with teenagers. She was detailed and caring with our son, making certain she spent all the time needed to educate and get him acclimated to his new contacts. I went in there to pick up my glasses after two weeks of wait and seen right away almost full of people but no one said anything to me ad I know all seen me walk in. The issue here is I was just completely ignored til I went to front desk said I here to pick up my glasses and was told to wait and the wait just became a long wait til this lady from the back office ask me if anyone has help me yet. One of the worst retail experiences I have had in 60 years. I have never written a review before but I feel obligated to warn you. I have used this place for years but my most recent experience suggests there has been a substantial downturn in quality here. I paid for high-end prescription glasses three weeks ago and was promised they would be delivered in a week. After two weeks, I inquired and was told they would arrive any day now. I asked for a tracking number and was told there was none. Really, you ship a $1300 item without a tracking number? I called every day and was assured they would arrive any day. At the end of 3 weeks, now I am told they arrived but were "incorrect" and are being reordered. Of course, my "warranty" started the day I ordered them. Maybe they will arrive before my warranty expires? I just spoke to someone at the store who promised to send the newly ordered glasses to me asap. I will change this review if it happens as promised (and repost a worse review if not). read more

This Athens, GA Lenscrafters is excellent! I lost my glasses while visiting the area from MD. They were the only local eyeglass store that offered same day service to replace my glasses. I had to call America's Best in MD to obtain my Rx and once received this Lenscrafters filled it within 2 hours time. The young man who assisted me, Isaiah, was very professional assisting me. The optician, whose name I didn't get, was also helpful and a good mentor guiding Isaiah on what to do. I highly recommend this store. Keep up the good work! read more

this location on the atlanta highway would not honor an agreement with my insurance company, the manager refused to honor this agreement! i was scammed into paying for services that were not approved by me. if you go in to this office be sure to ask if their testing has any options. i was told that they use a newer tech that is better than being dialated. sure but this cost me an additional amount that and i was not offered an option. i was told that this is what they use for testing. in my opinion this is a way to charge you more for services, if they have an agreement with insurance companies they should honor the agreement and not charge you an additional fee! read more

I walked in to this LensCrafters today to finally get the glasses I've been needing to replace my old backups. I'm a college student still on my parents' insurance, so I called my parents, albeit somewhat spontaneously, to get the insurance info. We had quite a bit of trouble with the insurance, but the staff at LensCrafters were very patient and helpful, and assured me that I was doing nothing wrong and they'd get it taken care of for me. I just felt so happy knowing that these people cared about getting me my glasses. Everyone was extremely nice and I will definitely be back in the future. read more

Ooof. I worked for this company for over 2 years. Lemme tell you, those were some of the worst two years of my life. I won't go into the blatant homophobia I received from some of the staff. That's another issue within itself. Management absolutely sucks. Higher ups only care about sales. Literally, they couldn't care less if the patient is happy, especially if they "only spend $200 or less." My manager at the time would rank customer complaint "urgency" by how much the customer has spent with the company. If you didn't spend a certain amount, they didn't take your issue seriously. Corporate could care less about their employees. If you took on more responsibility or a key, they wouldn't give you a raise because being a keyholder "doesn't warrant a raise." And don't worry, if you buy something, the salesperson never sees the commission.... because they set the store goals so high that they're unachievable. And not meeting sales goals = absolutely no commission for the employees. None whatsoever. I could go on for days. But some of it would ruin some people and I just can't do it. But think twice about going here. They don't care about patient happiness. read more

The customer service at the eye clinic here is ridiculous. These people couldn't care less about me or my eyes. I needed glasses for TWO DAYS, due to an eye infection I couldn't wear my contacts but I had to prepare thanksgiving. I begged them to fill my prescription from my last contacts prescription, but they refused. I tried explaining that I only needed whatever the cheapest frames were with something close to my prescription- I will absolutely only be using these as back up glasses, as I wear my contacts full time. I explained that my eyes are INFECTED and therefore the prescription they come up with at an exam wouldn't be accurate in the first place. They resolutely would not give me a glasses prescription. I explained that I'm sick and may be contagious to them by coming to the office- they adamantly refused to give me a prescription. Now I'm sitting here for an eye exam I don't need or want, I'm uninsured so I'm going to pay an extra $100 or so, and my appointment was half an hour ago and I've barely been acknowledged. This is completely ridiculous and a blatant disregard for me as a patient. I will never be back. read more
