Dr. Novak is great, but the staff is rude and uncooperative. Glasses are expensive. They do not care about their customers, apparently.

Made an appointment for our eye exam. The woman who checked us in was miserable. No smile no customer service. Said you are checked in couldn't even say thank you because she was already turned around. We were not getting our glasses there so I get they aren't making their sale but no reason to have poor customer service. Checked us out. Just plain miserable borderline rude. While there a gentleman came in with an issue with his glasses he got there. They all sat there like they were annoyed he was there. Didn't get up to come to desk to talk to him. Asking him things from across room almost. Poorest customer service I have ever seen. We will never be back. As a manager in Healthcare they would not be working in my office after watching that. LensCrafters waited until the day of the appointment to phone and inform me that they do not take my insurance. I asked what the cost of a n eye exam was and that i would pay out of pocket. They then also informed they do not do the type of eye exam needed. The appointment was made a month in advance and they did not have the courtesy to call until until an hour before the appointment. I'm disgusted by their lack of professionalism and common courtesy. A complete waste of time. Don't waste your time making an eye exam appointment here. They didn't even care enough to apologize. read more

I called and asked lensecrafters promenade location if they could take a look at my girlfriend's costa sunglasses, they said a technician will be in Tuesday to take a look. I came over the weekend and dropped them off. I didn't hear back from them for over a week, so I called and a woman told me that the technician couldn't do anything about it. Rather then getting ugly and asking why they never responded back, I left it alone, then went back to the location. I brought my girlfriend and we got the sunglasses, surprisingly enough took we them across the street to "you break it we fix it" and a gentleman took the glasses in the back and fixed them in less then 5 minutes, didn't charge me a dime. The fact that an eyeglass technician couldn't spend the time of day to satisfy a customer tells me everything I need to know. read more

As soon as I walk in to look at frames, a worker tells me to keep it to 10 pairs or less because they have to clean them. It bothered me, so I didn't stay long and it made me feel weird. How can u select a perfect pair of frames if you can't try on as many as you want. If you can, then she shouldn't have told me that. BAD customer service in my opinion. read more

I have been coming here for many years. Yesterday Camita greeted me at the door and offered her assistance. After being gobsmacked by the exorbitant prices of eyeglass frames, I was ready to leave. Fortunately Camita showed me shelves of less expensive frames. After helping me select new frames, she even offered to adjust the glasses that I presently wear. All in all, it was a pleasant experience made possible by a knowledgeable, helpful, and articulate salesperson. read more

I've had numerous exams, and purchased multiple glasses, from Dolces to Ray-bans and have never been disappointed. My most recent, Burberry's, are my fav. Transition with some kind of Blue tint to prevent Apple Products from advertising directly to my brain. It is expensive, but the value is there. read more

Do Not Go here..period. My wife's experience has left us completely disenfranchised with the entire LensCrafters brand. My wife has worn glasses her entire life, and has been getting her prescriptions at LensCrafters for ten years. Over a month ago she visited this location for an eye exam, new lenses and new frames. Exam done, frames selected, pushy sales tactics endured, one week goes by. We went to pick up her new glasses was helped by Aisha. Associate handed my wife the glasses, she put them on her face and my wife informed Aisha that she could not see, everything is out of focus, something is wrong. My wife was told "you just have to get used to them" my wife again asked to please verify these are correct because she can not see properly with these glasses. The now visibly and verbally annoyed sales person looked at the label from packaging then to her screen and said "yes..there correct..you just have to get used to them" my wife was shown the door. Feeling like some how She had done something wrong some how to have been treated in such a fashion. Three days go by, she still can not see, she contacts the store they arrange to have her eyes examined again. Two weeks in now since we started, second Exam done, second prescription arrives. We go to pick them up, Aisha again assists my wife, puts on the second set of glasses, she still can not see properly. Upon telling the associate she checks the label, checks her screen she then goes to the back of the store another associate comes out and tells my wife "you..have..to get use to them, see how they do in three days" we leave, three days go by, my wife still can not see properly, so she calls the store and spoke with the Manager Sara. My wife describes what she is experiencing and wants to get it corrected. Sara said said "she will pass on the message to the doctor" Dr Anton calls my wife, she tells him whats going on and he says Progressive lenses will solve the problem. $80 dollars more for those and now three weeks since we first walked through the door. Week four, the progressive lenses arrive, having been so rudely treated on both occasions she does not even want to walk in to the location at Saucon valley and requests that these Progressive lenses be sent to the location in North Whales. Now into Week 4! We go to pick them up, better experience from the staff across the board, except that when my wife tries the Progressive lenses, finds them extremely disorientating. She tries to ware them for three days, i come home from work she is in tears.. she is getting dizzy, sever headache she has all but given up after now 30 days of just trying to get some new glasses. So now, after seeing all this and watching what has been the worst excuse for service i have ever had the misfortune of being party to. Desperate at this point i contact my insurance company to explore our options, after explaining this entire situation to them, they tell me "this is no problem, they are LensCrafters, we work with them all the time, we will request that they Void the claim on my insurance stay on the line" fifteen minuets go by the agent returns to tell me "Wow, i have never had an experience like that with LensCrafters...they utterly dismissed me..they told me there is no manager there and to try calling them tomorrow" apologetic the agent told me we will open a case for escalation and to call them tomorrow (i.e. today) and we will get this sorted out with them and if not we will escalate the case. 1 pm today my insurance contacted Saucon Valley LensCrafters and requested that they void their claim on our insurance so my wife can get an another eye exam at another provider, there response "No" they will not do anything to help. Amazed at the utter indifference for my wife, a now former customer of LensCrafters of ten years, my insurance company apologized and will be escalating the case to reinstate my benefits as soon as possible. In the meantime we are going out of pocket for everything until my benefits are reinstated. In conclusion, don't submit yourself to even the possibility of this happening to you. I love lenscrafters. They are the ONLY business that has ever got my glasses right! Also, on 12/18 I was at the Whitehall Mall store and suddenly there was loud shouting and somehow, the man (whose name I do not know, but he was the only man on staff that day helping customers) jumped up, pulled people into the store that were right outside the doorway, and quickly closed the gate and told us all to go into the back room. It turned out that there was a man creating a huge disturbance and the police had to take him down and remove him. This occurred right down the hall from Lenscrafters. How this employee knew what was going on so fast is beyond me. He had us moved into safety before I even realized something was going on! He should be commended for his quick action and thoughtfulness in keeping us safe and the other people right outside the store by pulling them into the store while at the same time rolling down the cage. He then decided to keep the cage down for a few extra minutes after the dangerous man was removed from the store, just in case the man had other sympathizers with him. He just wanted to keep us safe and he did a fabulous job! read more

An expensive and frustrating waste of time and energy. While the customer service people out front are knowledgeable and eager to help, the doctors (I had two different ones) inexplicably seem oblivious to your concerns and manage to make you feel as though you're bothering them. The main doctor offers no information...you have to pry every answer out of her seemingly against her will. I went in for a basic contact lens exam. I felt rushed and didn't feel that she was thorough. Once I told her I'd had an RK 20 years ago, she jumped straight to ordering specialty trial contacts and told me they'd be in within a week. For the next month and a half, I called each week to see whether they'd arrived. Finally they did, and I went in for an appointment. She had me try these enormous Toric lenses on, and it took me about 15 attempts to get them in, at which point my "good" eye was red and irritated. The good news was that my "bad" eye with the astigmatism could see perfectly. I was delighted. But now my good eye, which doesn't really need help to being with, was blurry. I figured she'd just ordered them incorrectly. She made me take them out again and put them back in. The good "red" eye was now irritated and even blurrier. She had me take them out and told me there was nothing she could do. I asked for the name of the scleral contact guy (she insisted I needed scleral, which are even bigger than Torics) but she didn't know his name. Said she'd call, never did. She charged me $70 (outside of my eye insurance) for the trials, but I was not allowed to have the prescription, a refund, or even the flawed contacts. I asked if there was ANYTHING I should take with me to a specialty doctor. After all, my insurance covers one eye exam a year, and I'd just blown it on her with zero results. She refused to give me anything and told me my ophthalmologist could contact her directly. I feel like I was swindled and that it was second nature for them to not acknowledge the money they'd taken...like this treatment was standard. I know there are regulations and laws about this sort of thing, which is fine. I don't know them. But if the doctors seemed knowledgeable, approachable, or kind in any way, that wouldn't matter as much. I'm left now to try to find someone who will fix the problem-with-no-name that needs a new exam that I'll have to pay for out-of-pocket. read more

Had an appointment with LensCrafters center valley pa. After half hour of waiting and not being acknowledged after the clip board questions, still no one acknowledged me after 30 min wait. Why have appointments? Finally asked when someone would see me? I was told maybe I should make another appt???!!! Seriously??!!! I have better things to do then sit around and wait for an hour or more. Very inefficient!! I'd have better luck grabbing a ticket with a number on it instead of an appointment with the LensCrafters at Center Valley Pa. read more

I was calling to make an eye exam appointment and the line was ringing for 5+ minutes. I attempted to call back multiple times and was left to hear the ringing sound for what felt like hours. I don't understand how you have workers there and no one is available to pick up the phone. read more

I don't even want to give them 1 star!!!! DO not go unless you really don't even need glasses. It's been over a month since I initially went there with my prescription in hand. They told me I'd have my glasses in 7-10 days. 13 days later I called them and they said the glasses need to be "recut". I got them about a week later with the wrong prescription. They sent them back out saying I'd have them in another 10 days. I got a bit upset asking if they could expedite the order since they messed up twice and I was moving away 10 days later. NOPE!!! Nothing they can do about it. I moved 10 days later and still no glasses, but they promised to mail them to me. We are now on 13 days and the glasses haven't even arrived at their store so who knows when I'll actually get them. The staff keeps up a chipper front, but you can tell they have zero customer service ability and have no idea what they're really talking about when it comes to glasses and contacts. read more

The WORST customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Condescending, rude ladies work within these four walls. They talk to you like you're a piece of dirt who is far below them.. We walked in forgetting a mask, and immediately one of the ladies with blonde hair jumps down our throat "where's your masks, we are a medical office".. the tone was beyond. So we snapped back and told her she needed to calm down.. we are vaccinated, and we simply need to be provided with a mask. Then another blonde lady (she acted like the final boss you have to defeat in video games) comes over and whips a tray at us stating "it's still Covid and we need to put our glasses we touch into a sanitation tray".. why would we just know this ? It's also been proven that surfaces are a non issue when transmitting the virus.. these ladies could've conveyed this information and kindly offered us a mask and a tray for our glasses, but they instead acted like complete tyrants who get off on treating people like absolute garbage. Take these recent 1 star reviews seriously and avoid this place.. the real virus here is the horrible female employees who all gang up on you like a clique of catty school girls. MEAN school girls who bully people with fear and intimidation. read more

I was almost out of contacts and needed a new prescription. All optometrists around me are only open while I'm at work. I knew I could just go to Walmart, but of course their customer service is terrible. It was Friday night and I was researching optometrists. I came upon the website and managed to schedule an appointment THE NEXT DAY!! All online. Holy cow. I printed the patient information sheet to fill out ahead of time, as suggested. So next day and I arrive 15 minutes early to try on glasses. An eyecare advisor approached me and helped me get set up for my appointment, all while I tried on glasses. Shortly after, I was called into a room where one of the staff did the glaucoma test/measured my eyes for contacts, etc. I then sat for 5 minutes until the doc called me in. Yadda yadda yadda. The time spent was longer than I liked, but the experience was great. The best part?? I don't have vision insurance, but they have AAA discounts!!! I saved quite a bit. The next best part is they made my glasses right then and there. They were ready within an hour! Nice staff, great experience. Highly recommended. read more

The doctor and her assistant couldn't be nicer during my eye exam - they were so great. The sales staff, however, ruined my day. They were some of the rudest and most disrespectful people I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. The associate with short gray hair tried so hard to railroad me into buying new frames that she wouldn't let me get out a full sentence without interrupting me. I couldn't believe how desperate she was to make the sale - it was like a used car dealership, times twenty. I can't tell for sure, but it seemed like she was bending the truth. None of her technical explanations about the difficulties of changing lenses into my "old" frames made any logical sense. When I tried to ask her to clarify, she got very irritated - not a good sign that someone is being truthful. It seemed like she was making things up to try to mislead me into spending more. Perhaps I'll never know, because she couldn't offer any logical reasoning or details to support what she was telling me. I could hardly believe that someone who behaves so impolitely works for the same company as the nice and professional doctor does. I'm not afraid at all of spending several hundreds of dollars on something as precious as my eyesight. This woman and I hadn't even discussed cost - I was simply trying to explain that I prefer my current frames to all the ones I tried on, but she wouldn't even let me get out a full sentence before dismissing me. Worst of all, when I finally convinced this short-gray-haired associate that I would like to "roll the dice" and take the risk of fitting new lenses in my existing frames, she revealed that their finishing machine has been down all weekend and it would be Tuesday before they could actually deliver any finished glasses - new frames or no. What a miserable failure. Over an hour deep into my visit to LensCrafters, I left with nothing more than a carbon copy of my prescription. I'm never, ever going back. read more

We've always went to the eye dr. at Lens Crafters in the past. The issue is not with the eye dr. but with the rest of the staff. My appt. was for 10:45 a.m. Was given the necessary paperwork to update and was informed that the Dr. would be with me shortly. Waited and waited, no one came out to start the preliminary exam. Was told that someone would be with me shortly. When someone came in after me and was immediately taken in to see the eye dr., and my appt. time was now well past, I went to the front desk and informed them that I wasn't waiting any longer. They wanted to reschedule my appt. immediately. I told them I would call them. I went home and booked another appt. elsewhere. When we went to the other place, I was taken within a few minutes of coming in. Sorry Dr. Novak but the staff at this location blew it big time. You not only lost me as a patient but also my entire family. read more

Awful experience. The lady that took my mom and I in before the doctor saw us was incredibly unprofessional and was rushing us. My mom told the doctor that the lady was rushing us and she responded with saying that they were busy and said "there's nothing I can do to change that." Had an appointment that I scheduled in advance. Walked into the office and was met by a very sweet girl. I was handed off to another lady who was absolutely awful. There was an issue verifying my insurance and this agent was so rude, I was flabbergasted. Started off with her stating that my insurance wasn't real. That she couldn't verify it with her system. Tried convincing me I never check to see if they accept it. I spoke with an agent 5 days prior to assist with them locating my insurance information, and when I told this woman she told me "they must be clueless". She told everyone in the office that I was causing them to run behind, and then called their corporate office, who told her to call my insurance. Then another employee offered to continue my appointment but I had to pay full out of pocket cost verses the copay through my insurance. I sat there waiting while listening to this lady be rude about me and my insurance for 30 minutes. Once she discovered my insurance was indeed real, she told me I couldn't be seen because she doesn't know how to bill the insurance. She told me "I'll call you to reschedule once I figure out how to bill you. So just wait to hear from us". It was such terrible service. I'm very disappointed. read more

Based on reviews, I almost didn't go to this location. I went and I was pleasantly surprised. When I walked in, I was greeted by the staff and they helped me right away with choosing frames I liked. The exam was thorough and professional. I went here because I needed the glasses in an hour. There was a problem with one of the lenses so I had to have one pair mailed but I walked out of there with the sunglasses and glasses. I was happy with the service but in the end, I chose two pairs that were wrong for me. Too big. I'll be using my 90 day return policy but I'm not expecting any issues! read more

Went here (Dickson City PA location) because urgent care diagnosed me with shingles over my left eye and told me that I had to see my eye doctor right away to ensure no issues with my eye. I told them I don't to to specific eye doctor, that I go to lenscrafters annually. Doc said "that is your eye doctor then and they need to look at your eye". I go to lenscrafters, arriving at 9:55 AM. They open at 10. Well, more like 10:08. I told the receptionist what I was there for and she said that she would speak to the Dr when she got in but that I would probably be referred to NEI. Dr XXXXXXXX comes strolling in at 10:25 and the receptionist goes to speak to her in the other room. Dr says "we are already booked for the day so......" and didn't even step out to see me. She said more but the above speaks for itself. I am your patient for several years and you couldn't even take 5 minutes to speak to me, let alone look at my eye when there wasn't even another patient waiting. This is after 2 years ago, you continually tried different contact lenses on my husband because none of them were clearing up his vision. The fill in doctor is the one who told him that he had a cataract and referred him to NEI after our 3rd visit to once again say that the contacts you prescribed weren't working. The glasses are over priced and if they get your order right, they don't hold up. The doctors leave much to be desired and the products aren't worth what you pay for them. That's okay though because the thousands that you make off of my family and our insurance annually will be in someone else's pocket and I will never recommend you to anyone. read more

The staff at this store are clueless. During one visit, a woman told me 7 (daily) contact lenses would last me 8 days until my return appointment. When I continued to ask for 8 sample lenses instead of 7, she just did not get it. How hard is it to count days on a calendar? On another visit, they mailed the contact lenses to the wrong address (a home address instead of PO Box) and the entire package got rained on, and the half-year's worth of lenses were ruined. They did replace them at no charge, but had to have them shipped. Three weeks later, when I hadn't received them, I called. They told me they don't ship to PO Boxes; yet they never called me to tell me I had to pick them up. The online customer service center explained to me this store doesn't use the standard Lenscrafters ordering system, and that is at the root of their problems. When I tried to address the problems with the staff in the store, they became belligerent and argued with me that I should have known they don't ship to PO Boxes and claimed they did leave me a voice message. Yea, right. This store has lost customers-- me and both my sons. AVOID THIS STORE! read more

We've been to Lens Crafters at the Lehigh Valley Mall (within Macy's) for both regular prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses. We have been very pleased with the professionalism of the staff and their knowledge. Natalie, (manager) has always been there to assist us and has made it a point to accommodate us. We took the prescriptions from our family eye doctor and they were filled correctly and in a timely manner. read more

Same as another poster, I found the sales associate with the short grey hair to be pushy. Whe wouldn't even let me shop on my own. When I mentioned it to the manager, the manager said "Good, she's doing what I trained her to do." So, obviously that's exactly how they want to run their business. With plenty of competition, I'll be going elsewhere. They will eventually see how their aggressive sales tactics will cost them business. read more

I recently brought my new prescription (from my optician) to LensCrafters. The service was wonderful from start to finish. Because of this (and my two friends' glowing recommendation of their doctor, my husband had occasion to need a check up. He saw the resident doctor, had one of the best exams ever and then proceeded to select frames. Because he prefers virolox (sp?) lenses, they had to send them out for this procedure. We were kept abreast of every step along the way. We are happy campers; never, ever thought of going to LensCrafters. They certainly changed our minds. read more

I had a great experience coming to this location! The staff was very friendly, and they were accomodating in meeting my scheduling requests. Dr. Novak was great -- thorough exam, very knowledgeable, personable, professional, and a great fashion sense. I love my new Tori Burch glasses that she helped me pick out. I took my child here when she was in kindergarten and the teacher told us she was having trouble seeing. I was told at this Lens Crafters that she needed glasses or her one eye would become a "lazy eye". OK , let's get her glasses. Went back the following year for her annual eye exam and was told by a different eye doctor there that the prescription she was wearing was wrong this whole time and they should have been correcting the other eye. WHAT?! So I spent $125.00 on glasses for my 6 year old and it wasn't even correct. Then I went a few months later for myself. Saw a different eye doctor then the first two. She was a pretentious snob! Made me feel terrible about myself. She literally eyed me up and down when I walked into the room. Asked me protocol questions and every time I answered she would cut me off mid sentence and move on. I told her I was experiencing headaches that felt like it was behind my eyes. She blew it off and told me to go talk to a doctor. This is a very snobby eye care facility. It seems like they are more into selling their top of the line, name brand glasses then helping people. I will be taking myself and my family elsewhere from now on. I heard Visionworks is great. Maybe I will try them. read more
