This could have been a 5-star review. We were there on Sunday and Nicole was very helpful - or so I thought. She set up an appointment for my eye exam and gave me a quote for new glasses. When I asked if I was covered by my insurance she said I was out of network but I may be covered. No one called me back to verify and I tried to find out for sure today (two days later). I called this afternoon and spoke to Abe. He said he was too busy to help at that time and would get back to me. He didn't return the call until 6:30 pm. He let me know at that time that he couldn't find the policy with the information I had. I tried to get him the correct information but he wouldn't wait for me to do that. He said he had to help other customers. Mind you the entire call only took 10 minutes to this point. If LensCrafters can't perform a simple task like verifying insurance in a timely manner, they need to re-evaluate their operation and staffing. I canceled my appointment and now I'm looking for another optometrist and source for glasses. read more

But way too much fine print as she ended up paying an additional $50 and would be without glasses for weeks.. This wonderful experience goes along with a rude sales girl and a useless manager. Anthony assisted us and what great customer service. He not only tightened the sunglasses, but my regular glasses as well and then thoroughly cleaned both pairs. I picked up my new glasses yesterday. I got home to find the left eye reading area was off. I went back today, expecting a battle to make it right. Nicole helped me. She was polite and professional and said she would make it right. I got a $41 refund and a rush redo on the left lens. Three hours later I returned. Things were better, but not 100%. Nicole worked with me and made some frame adjustments (frames were riding too low and in too close). She fixed it and all was well. Thank you Nicole! read more

So me and my wife go here to get our eye exam and that went fine. We go out to look at glasses together just looking and I can't find anything I like. Pretty soon this guy comes out and another sales person comes out and basically separates me from my wife. He is real close to my wife and she tells me later that she felt very uncomfortable. We were being pushed kind of like a car lot and it was not cool. We decided that we were just going to get our prescriptions and leave. Monday I'm going to call my insurance and ask that they be removed from our providers list. Had my eyes tested at Walmart, but so appalled with their choice in sunglasses I decided to drive to LensCrafters. Selection definitely better, luckily their entire stock is on display. Why lucky? Because even on a quiet day I pretty much had to beg someone to help me! Found a pair myself and had them made. Since I need bifocals these days I decided to try the progressive lenses (again - had a terrible experience a year ago). Sure enough, just like last year the breadth of vision is frighteningly narrow when reading - crazy - unless you pay double for HD lenses - since they were already over $300 no thanks. Will just use em for driving. Update - 4 days later - I HATE my progressive sunglasses - headache city, tiny field of vision - I am a danger on the roads - nice job LensCrafters - no service and crappy lenses!! Their prices for clear lenses is ridiculous - with an inexpensive plastic frame already well over $400. So back to Walmart for the clear glasses - half the price, and I'll go for bifocals not progressive - so that I can actually read in comfort :) read more

Incompetent staff. Brought my glasses in to be readjusted and they ended up cracking the glass in my glasses. Was given attitude (and kind of blamed?) when I told them they cracked the glass during the readjustment process. Brought my glasses back in to get the lenses swapped out and told them to please not readjust the frames, since I have a prism in place and my eyes are extremely sensitive, but the frames are readjusted (even though I had the store associate tell the technician) and causing me headaches. Won't ever do business with this company again. This was the second time they cracked my lenses and basically blamed me for the issue. read more

Came in prior to my scheduled appointment time. Was greeted with, "we'll be with you shortly" as I counted around 5+ associates moving about the showroom. Well, "shortly" turned in to me watching as 3 more people walked in and got processed for their appointments. Why wasn't I asked if I had an appointment? So I walked up to the counter and stated that I too had an appointment! Not sure what the point of an appointment even was since I was taken back 25 minutes AFTER my scheduled appointment. So, plan to be here for about 2 hours. I will say, that everyone was very pleasant. However, I will not be returning. And if you've got double coverage, look out! They struggle HUGE with this task and trying to figure out your insurance. Their prices are outrageous and the experience as a whole was just not stellar. read more

I HATE this location! I usually go to a different location, but seeing as this was closer to me and the weather wasn't so great today, I decided to come here. Everything was fine upon check in, staff greeted me and getting settled was great. My optometrist however...she and I were having basic conversation about my eyes and she asked if I wore contacts too. I said yes and asked her if she had any recommendations for contacts as the ones I currently had weren't terrible, but they weren't the greatest. She said, "let me see what I have" and came back with some for me to try. Mind you, I only came in for a regular eye exam. We had conversation about the contacts and I told her they were comfortable. I go to check out and they tried charging me for BOTH exams. I immediately opposed to that as we were just having simple conversation about my eyes and SHE took it upon herself to grab lenses for me to try. I have NEVER had such an embarrassing experience. The cherry on top was when the team lead took me to the back so I can physically remove the contacts before I could leave the store. WHAT A JOKE! I am NEVER coming back to this location! Shame on you Dr. Linda Nguyen for being assumptive and for making this the most embarrassing experience ever. read more

Just started going here this year. I always thought LensCrafters was going to be way overpriced but I was actually wrong. They took our insurance and we actually saved more money getting our glasses and contact lenses there than we have anywhere else. Customer service is excellent whenever I've gone in there I'm helped right away. I don't feel like I'm being harassed, like at some stores were there just on you all the time when you're just looking. They take AAA if you are a member and you'll save a good percentage on your sunglasses. I just recently bought two pair of sunglasses one being a coach brand and the other a Michael Kors brand and save 40% on each pair using my AAA. Hooooooooooray. I definitely have a problem with sunglasses like I should go to sunglass Anonymous or something because I am crazy about sunglasses. They have a very big selection to choose from which is awesome because I am a sunglass snob I recommend coming here and if you need to get a new prescription I would call ahead and make an appointment! read more

Unfortunately, after an extremely unpleasant experience at Lens Crafters in Escondido, CA off Auto Parkway, I feel I need to write this review so it doesn't happen to anyone else. I have purchased frames and lenses from Lens Crafters in the past but this morning, I had my first eye exam scheduled at this store. The optometrist ran me through a series of tests. Upon completion, she asked if I felt I needed something for distance or if my issues were with things close to my face. I mentioned I was really hoping to be fitted for contact lenses but I had concerns after being told by a different doctor (at a non lens crafters site) that I was difficult to fit due to an astigmatism. She informed me the fee was an additional $75 for a contact fitting and she had no one on staff to help train me. I told her that was fine and I thought I could manage. She went on to say that while she saw nothing on my prescription that would prohibit the use of contact lenses, she was concerned about fitment due to the previous doctor's comments regarding the astigmatism. Here is where the visit went from pleasant to extremely awkward and unprofessional. Because she explained I would pay the additional $75 regardless of whether or not we found a type of lenses that fit, I asked her, "How confident are you we will be successful finding a good fit?" I felt this was a fair question to ask as she had just mentioned the prescription shouldn't be a problem but she was concerned about the previous doctor's comments. I was okay with the extra $75 but I wanted her professional opinion as to whether or not I was likely to be successful. If she had said something to the effect of "fairly confident" I would have gone for it. If she had said something closer to 50/50 or 25% I would have thanked her for her professional opinion and stuck with glasses. Instead, she responded with, "I think we are good for today." Not understanding what she meant, I asked if she meant we were done with the exam and ready to try some contacts. She then replied, "No, we won't be trying on any contacts today." Completely confused at this point, I asked why not? She said, "What you said was offensive and it's time to go." I was floored. I had no clue what I had said to offend her. Bewildered, I replied, "Oh my gosh, if I said something offensive it certainly was not my intent." She said, "It's time to go." Trying once more to understand what in the world had just happened, I said, "I'll leave but will you please tell me how I offended you so I won't make the same mistake in the future?" At this point she said, with a very cold tone in her voice, "There is no need for you to question my abilities as an optometrist. I already told you your prescription wouldn't be a problem." I tried to explain I never meant her any offense and I only meant to ask her professional opinion because she is the professional and hoped she understood what I was actually asking. She said she did not and I needed to go. She then walked me to the counter so I could pay for my exam. Still in a mild state of shock (I've never once in my 43 years of life been treated this way by a professional or asked to leave an establishment) I started to sign the digital pad but then stopped. I told the employee behind the counter that I had a very negative experience and did not feel it was right I be charged. I told her I didn't even need my new prescription and I just wanted to leave. She spoke to someone who I assume was her manager and then told me that was fine and I did not have to pay. I appreciated that gesture at least, but am still very upset over the way I was treated by the optometrist. I understand people have misunderstandings and things are at times misinterpreted, but to not even give me a chance to explain my question (I was seeking her advice because I respected her professional opinion) I will not be shopping with Lens Crafters or recommending them in the future because of this one employee's actions. read more

Great experience! Biggest difference here is the selection and the knowledgeable staff. Nicole knew her stuff and took the time to ensure my glasses were what I needed, fit properly and even repaired my old glasses. She also made sure my insurance was applied properly and I was getting the most out of my coverage. If only I could leave it at no stars. This review is in regards to a employee named Tammy. I have worked in the medical field for over 20 years and have never treated a client the way I was treated. I also never leave reviews because everyone has a bad day. This employee was on a level I have never experienced in my lifetime. Rude and disrespectful along with dismissive is a accurate description of the manager. Never asked to speak to a manager just showed up for my appointment. Unfortunately I got the only one standing around doing nothing. Black pant suit approaches and asked my reason for being there. My glasses were made and the lenses were set wrong and gave me double vision. I had them fixed the previous week and had a appointment scheduled to see the doctor. I still can't see and this all started last March! Tammy Informs me that my appointment is over and went along less then 6 feet away to "help" someone else. Not "help" just taking there money. Okay, so first let me start off by letting you guys know I have reviewed the escondido Westfield mall LensCrafters, and they are the sole reason I'm reviewing these guys. I initially went to the Escondido mall LensCrafters for my Tiffany sunglasses, with prescription, and they couldn't get the frame lens right, there were gaps and just cut wrong. I waited like two weeks because every time they said that the sun shades were done they were very badly done. Then the third time, the manager told me that this was the best ANY LensCrafters was going to be able to do, and I was very sad, because it was a large purchase, so I returned them, and I came to this location and they said they were able to do it no problem, I was encouraged, and the glasses were done the next day! They told me that they shouldn't have limited me to only that store and I agree, because if I had believed them I would have never purchased my shades. NOW I have them, and its all thanks to the LensCrafters at this location. The glass is fitted perfectly and they are great, I guess if I had to say ONE negative thing, it would be that my shades slide down a lot, but I have a small nose lol so maybe its just that. Really nice people, QUICK work, and great location over all! They need more selection for sure, so they get more people! read more

For over 25 years, I've been going to privately owned optometry thinking it was top-notch. After having to moved into this area, I needed to go somewhere quick. I initially went to eyeglass world and I was treated so bad. I left and decided to come in to LensCrafters instead. I am so glad I did. Excellent service. I received many hellos and smiles. I absolutely hate coming here to get glasses. The employees only sell the most expensive lens options and treat you like a child. They never let me leave with a copy of my prescription nearly forcing me to get glasses there. They always tell me my prescription won't fit in most of the frames as well. Snuck a picture of my last prescription and got the frames I wanted (which they told me they could not make lenses for) at SportRx in San Diego.
