Amazing customer service! I needed a pair of designer glasses fixed - well actually just a simple screw- but sunglass hut told me dolce and gabbana doesn't provide replacement parts and they couldn't help me. Costco didn't have the screw my glasses needed. And a shop in north park I went in to wanted to charge me $45 for replacing the screw and wait time was around 3-5 business day for the screw to arrive. Plus the guy was super rude. The short but dissatisfied service made me hop on to help and find a place that could help me. This place right here was so nice over the phone and told me to drive over and see what they could do. I made the 35-40 minute drive to Escondido and I was not disappointed. It was easy to find, plenty of parking (north park was a nightmare to find parking) and the guy didn't charge me a single penny. I wanted to pay! But he said no need. He had the specific screw that no one else is town seemed to have. Love this place! The owner was so nice and very down to earth. I had laid on my prescription glasses at home and broke the threaded piece that holds my lens in place. My wife looked up eyeglasses repair shops and this one came across with the good reviews. Sure enough the owner of the shop greets you as you walk in as he was friendly and inviting. I explained to him what had happened and he immediately took my glasses. I would not recommend this place. The chances of them going beyond the bare minimum for you is very unlikely and they'll only allow you to use the information they get if you buy from them. I tried to get the bare minimum of information for my father-in-law after they refused it to him directly and they gave me some story about how it's "against the rules" (FYI - there are no actual rules that state this) despite him not being able to visit in-store. He can't go into their store right now, so they're not going to help him. Really?! They're not interested in customer service; they're interested in your money. I bought the best fitting here. I had always used VSP insurance when I was working but since I retired I have been on my own. I have used Costco and was happy with their prices but the selection of frames did not really satisfy me. In 2018 I bought some fantastic frames as lenses at The Eyeglass Company. I have lost some rubber nose pieces over the last couple of years and they have always been replaced at no cost. Today I dropped my glasses and when I grabbed them the side earpiece broke off I went and asked if it could be repaired or replaced. Much to my surprise I was given a completely new frame at no cost. I was in need of having my glasses adjusted due to my daughters dog had messed up the frame when her foot came across my face. Since I am visiting from Costa Rica, I had no idea of where to go. I had asked a friend of my daughters and she told me Lens Crafters, however, not knowing my way around, it was too far and I honestly did not want to go to a big box store company. Do not come to this place I had ordered the two pairs of glasses for my mom for the two to be bifocal and said it would be more expensive so I said ok then I just want one pair to be bifocals and the other pair single so that was my understanding! Turns out that when I went to pick up the other pair it was the one for reading and the other one to see far. That was not my understanding when I had placed the order. read more

I went and was serviced by Nick and Earl. I went in for the $79 advertised special for two pairs of glasses with a free eye exam. I expected to be upsold big time. It just seemed like a lost leader. The selection of glasses that are included with this special was ok but not great. But I stepped on my third backup pair this morning, so I was in need of some in expensive glasses until I can take a little more time and get some nicer ones. The virtual eye exam was a first for me. A guy on a tv screen with a robotic eye exam machine. Whatever works I guess. After the eye exam a prescription is issued from a local ophthalmologist. Earl is whom I dealt with first he did the preliminary testing. He was very polite and very pleasant to deal with. Then after the exam I dealt with Nick the branch manager. My prescription called for bifocals, which are usually super expensive. I initially said I would just buy some reading glasses. Nick explained for just $55 more he could upgrade me to bifocals. So, I did that. These will be my first bifocals. At the end of the day $135 for two sets of bifocals including the eye exam is quite a bargain in today's world. Let's see how the finished product is. I will update the review once I receive the glasses. So far so good! read more

I found he doesn't keep his word. Because I needed a new prescription soon after purchasing two expensive glasses(frames and lenses) Russ said he would help me on the price on the second ones, he didn't help at all, so new lenses were $300 after just spending $860 with him. Also, said he'd provide me with cases with the glasses, he didn't. Said my glasses would be ready in one and half weeks, took three weeks. I came here after terrible experience at another place, I had purchased my frames online and needed my prescription lenses for them. As I came here there was a very nice welcoming vibe and a very nice man running the place he got my glasses ready within few hours. Which honestly is best feeling as I don't have to wait long like other places that take weeks to get frames ready. And ofcourse the price would be more than other places but I gladly didn't mind because glasses came out perfectly. I brought in prescription frames, one of the temples had broken off at the hinge. My optometrist's office didn't think it was repairable but I thought I'd try anyway. I certainly lucked out with The Eyeglass Company. Russ took a quick look and told me right away it could be fixed, explaining exactly what needed to be done. He also charged me a very reasonable price. When I picked up the frames a few days later (on the day Russ said they would be ready), they looked as good as the day I first got them.
