He did not ask me if I had any of these symptoms he was lecturing me on. He's never consulted my family physician. I'm 70 yo and never gone to an eye exam to get an unsolicited lectured on my physical health from someone that has not assessed for anything, nor has heard of any issues from me about my health other than the reason I was there for, namely an annual eye exam. Dr Smith was unprofessional and engaged in medical issues out of his scope of practice without consulting (or knowing) my prescribing physician and medical history, nor did I ask about anything he was lecturing me on. I've submitted a detailed complaint to the MT Department of Labor and Industries for practicing out of scope of practice and unprofessional conduct.

They overcharge you for their items and when I had a problem with my $75 fitover sunglasses, one gentleman told me to bring them back in and they would either replace them or fix the missing lens on the side of the glasses. So after I made the half hour trip, the man "helping" me just shrugged and said there's nothing they can do and maybe I could put a piece of tape on them. The manager was cold and completely uncaring. They make the eye clinic look terrible.

I've been extremely nearsighted since early childhood so am very familiar with optometric exams and have been to numerous eye doctors over the years. {I am 68 now}. Dr. Dolan has ALWAYS given me very professional, extensive and unhurried examinations, has gone the extra mile to find me the contact lenses that work best for me, and is the ONLY eye professional ever to discuss with me recent research into nutritional approaches to eye health. It is true that not all optometrists in all states are able to offer dilated eye exams, but in my opinion it is a superior methodology allowing the doctor to better visualize the retina. Anyone who would diss that is simply not well-informed...

On top of that, he wouldn't even give me a prescription without a dilated eye examination... which I told him I was hesitant about since I had to drive my kids home. I have never been asked to do a dilated eye exam by any optometrist EVER. He said nothing to worry about and dilated my eyes - and I literally could see NOTHING while driving and had to have my husband pick us up due to safety concerns. Would not recommend.
