This store is a joke! I came here because two pairs of glasses I bought less than a year ago have lenses that have turned yellow. They are Transitions lenses. When I bought them, they were grey lenses that turned dark and had a blue mirror coating on them. They have gradually turned yellow. I came in to show them to the store on Sunday and was told I had to come back on Wednesday when the manager, Dustin, was in, since they were purchased at a store in CT. They told me only the store manager could make decisions about glasses purchased at another location. I went back in today to show him the lenses, which he acknowledged he could clearly see were now yellow. He told me he needed to take pictures and send them to his regional manager, and that he do not have the authority to make decisions about glasses from another location. He also told me that "we use Transitions lenses here," so it's not like we put in some cheap stuff." So, what, it's my fault? Then, he told me, "also, it's been more than a year..." No! That's the point, they are less than a year old...by a long shot. I bought them in March of 2025. Then, it became, "well, you don't have the protection plan." I spent $1200 on glasses at LensCrafters precisely so that I would not have to worry if I had a problem with them -- a national chain, where one would reasonably expect their $600 lenses to be stood behind by the company from which they purchased them. Then, I was insulted with the following line he called to sell me an hour later: "I have learned from speaking with my regional manager and from research I did that the yellow tint is by design!" What...?! Dustin tried to sell me the bullshit line, "Transitions lenses have a yellow-brown hue by design. It's supposed to be there." NO! Then why wasn't it there when I first got them? Why is one pair much more yellow than the other? Why did I buy gray lenses? In short, the store manager is full of crap and a liar, and LensCrafters are thieves who do not stand behind the products they sell. Moral of the story: do not pay a premium to LensCrafters for service -- much less nationwide service -- as they do not stand behind their products. Outstanding customer service from Liz at the Merritt Island LensCrafters! I appreciate this company where I can get great eyewear and support all over the country. Liz brought exceptional customer service to us by providing a great glasses & frames adjustment and cleaning. She noted that frames had to be warmed and the lens should be removed to prevent damage. After adjusting our frames Liz did a through clean around the edges of both frames and lens while explaining the importance of this. She also answered all our questions about the new RayBan Meta frames on display. It was a fantastic LensCrafters experience thanks to Liz! I love LensCrafters as a decades long customer. read more

I called to reorder my contacts and was told that it was over a year since my last exam and that I needed to make an appointment, the person I spoke to confirmed with me that I had the same insurance as last year. She conclusively proved that former diagnosis from multiple previous eye doctors were WRONG, found the real issues and made my vision better than it has been in a decade. A decade!! Don't listen to their claim of "one day glasses". We drove over 2 hours to have an eye exam and leave with glasses before traveling out of the country for business. We were not greeted when we came in even though their were employees not working with customers. We finally had someone ask to assist us. The eye exam was okay. Next we went to pick out the glasses and of course they say we can pick them up TOMORROW! I clearly told the lady on the phone that we needed to walk out with the glasses and she said it would be no problem as long as they have the lenses in stock. Well they DO have them in stock but because its 4 o'clock we have to come back tomorrow!! We could have taken any of the other appointment times she offered. I have been buying my glasses from LensCrafters for years but today was the worst experience I have had there! Rude Rude Rude!! I guess it was OAP Sunday staff. didn't explain putting the touched glasses in the tray at all. I thought they were for the glasses I was interested in, I guess that upset her as she was very short with answers and not helpful at all. I was looking forward to visiting this franchise, but now I can see clearly that they need to improve their customer service skills. I made my appointment over a week ago, confirmed my insurance company, spoke with a representative yesterday when they called to confirm my appointment, arrived on time only to be told they are unable to confirm my insurance! The fact of the matter is the representative didn't even try, I expressed my disappointment to the staff and walked outside of their establishment, made one phone call to my previous provider "Americas Best" and within 3 minutes she completed the task by accessing the insurance providers website, entering 2 pieces of information I.E. Name & Social and she had my file! No problem she stated, we can schedule you in today, how does 3pm sound? Sounds like Lens Crafters lost a customer. In today's market you only get one chance to make a great impression, and if your staff is not willing to take the necessary steps to ensure great customer service, then you may as well work for the DMV where you have a captive audience. Went here for 1st time today, and after walking in and not being waited on or asked anything, we still stayed and sat down. After 15min nothing. Went to front desk and was told I had to wait for the 2 girl's on the floor currently helping their 2 customers. 1 girl had to keep asking the other girl how to process her customer at least 10 times on what to do. Now 20 min. later, still no eye contact, smile, acknowledgement or anything from any employee. We decided to ck here for reviews and their were none so we checked Google review instead and holy cow they were horrible!!!! We immediately walked out. Do Not go here to pick out or order glasses. Do NOT waste your time OR your money here! Florida optometry regulations say your eye prescriptions valid for 5 years. The eye doctor at the Lens Crafters in Merritt island will NOT honor an eye exam subscription that's a little over 2 years. Lens Crafters of Merritt island is conducting a scam on their customers by unethically forcing them to renew and REPAY for an eye exam before it is legally expired. Lens Crafters of MI told me that "their doctor" gets to decide when the eye exam YOU HAVE PAID FOR is expired/no longer valid. Unbelievable AND disgusting!!! read more

Horrible experience. Charged an outrageous amount for glasses and contacts ($700+ and that's WITH insurance) and given a very limited selection of glasses to chose from. Then they filed a claim to my insurance when I didn't even buy anything so I couldn't buy from another place until they cancelled it. Terrible. The workers didn't know what they were doing on the medical or business side of it. Go somewhere else if you want to save time and money. read more

Terrible service! My wife and I went in there and were the only customers at the time. Three (3) employees were talking at the register and not once did they come ask if we needed assistance. Lens crafters was so helpful with an emergency replacement contact. Melissa was able to help confirm they had the contact lens in stock and held it until we got there to pick it up. We don't typically use lens crafters for eye care but we will look to use them any time we need while traveling! read more

I've used LensCrafters for a few years now and have always loved them. I go to them even though they don't take tricare. However, today I was disgusted with their service!!! When I entered the store their was only one other person in the store. My husband was asked if he needed help, He told them no that I did. We were completely ignored. A girl from the eye clinic asked us to have a seat and some one would be with me soon. After sitting there watching everyone around me being helped I left. What a waste of time!!! read more

I have been of customer of the Lenscrafters in Merritt Island for many years and have always had good service. Understandably, the store has had to reduce its hours and their current phone message says they are open DAILY 12:00pm - 6:00pm. The message however neglects to say they are closed on Sundays. I received a text that said my glasses were ready for pick up and to "Stop in any time". I went to the store on Sunday and it was closed. There is NO notice of this closure anywhere on the door, in windows or in the store itself. A woman working the kiosk across from this Lenscrafters said many customers show up on Sundays, only to find it unexpectedly closed and leave (as I did) frustrated and a bit angry at having made an unnecessary trip. When I went to the store on Monday, I suggested to two employees that they update their phone message, put a sign on the store window and remind customers during their visit that they close on Sundays. Only one said "sorry for the inconvenience" and both ignored my suggestions and said, "we're closed on Sundays", as if I should have known. I left feeling disappointed and frustrated and will certainly rethink doing business with them again. read more

I come explicitly to the Merritt Island LensCrafters because of the people there. If you treat people with respect, you'll get that in return. I was new to glasses and had picked out pairs that were less expensive and, apparently, not very flattering. The sales rep. took the initiative and found a pair of Michael Kors glasses, which my insurance covered. She said that look was much more flattering. From the optometrist, to the manager, who referred me to the attentive Sales rep, to the part of that store whose specific job is too handle the lenses (that is not the manager's job), to the staff member who instructed me in the use of contacts, all I encountered was attentiveness. I'm going back tomorrow as it has been 1 year since my last appt. Highly recommend! read more

I lost my glasses Saturday and cannot see without them. Called Lens Crafters at Merritt Island within 30 minutes I had an eye exam and my new glasses/lens were being made. I had them fitted and was on my way home in about 2 hours. Unbelievable service and so understanding of my situation. Best eye exam in years...don't know what I would've done without them. After an hour they were unable to accept card payments and can't start making new lenses until payment is made. The delay would have been fine except they admitted this is an ongoing issue for several days/weeks without resolution. I wasted two trips and over an hour and a half. They don't know when it will be resolved. Might as well close the doors if you can't take payment. If I were the manager I would be raising hell with corporate. I won't be back. read more

Yikes! I have had a decent experience at this store in the past, but this past time I must have been on that show "What Would You Do" . It was like the episode at the coffee shop when the employee didn't know what she was doing and kept messing up the customers orders but had an attitude like the customers were at fault. Unfortunately, this experience was real. Even worse, the person helping me at LensCrafters MI had a name tag that said she was the general manager. I'm pretty sure she must have just borrowed someone's name tag or she really fudged some details on her resume. She didn't know the computer system at all and couldn't even tell me how much the glasses would cost with my insurance. She didn't know much about the different kinds of lenses and told me one wasn't available that I had just been offered a month before. She didn't know how to use the special computer glasses measurement system and it literally took her a half hour to try adjust the glasses so the computer would accept the measurements. I sat there patiently while she tried over and over, meanwhile I was nervously thinking how improper measurements would effect my already poor eyesight. Finally she was done and I tried to find out how much it would cost. Because I was exchanging another pair, she said she could only tell me how much it would cost with the promotional discount on the lenses. Sometimes it comes out less expensive with my insurance discount on the frames and lenses, and she said she couldn't tell me without entering that information into the computer, which she couldn't do for some reason. I suggested she ask another salesperson how to do it, and she said the other person was busy. I had also been planning on buying a pair of sunglasses. I had to pick up my son at school and simply couldn't wait any longer, so I spent all that time and stress and didn't get anything. I'm sure I am lucky, because having a messed up pair of glasses and having to go back yet again to try to explain that would have been awful. If the salesperson was new, she could have just apologized instead of telling me I was wrong every step of the way. They either need to do better training or a better resume check. I would have spent at least $500 there today and should be able to go away with great glasses and not be treated badly. read more
