Awful. I cant get a copy of my prescription and it's an emergency. Supposedly Global Care has my script now, not my fault that their eye doctor left Eye Glass World and took her files. I paid for my eye exam and that script is good for one full year. I want a copy of my script as Global Care doesnt return emails or phone calls and your office could care less. I cant see at my new job, thabks eye glass world. U r the worst optometrist i have ever been too. How could you just leave a patient hanging like this??????? Avoid at all cost!!!!!!!! Seriously, I've never seen such a disaster of a professional business with so many incompetent professionals...... only tried this place because it is down the street and within the insurance network. The first "doctor" I had was acting very weird, I don't want to say under the influence or drunk because it could their nature, but that was extremely uncomfortable. Eye exam was a total joke, gave me 4 contact prescriptions to try (??? 2 on each eye) so I can say which one I prefer. Prescriptions were so off compared to what I'm used to, but still gave it a try just in case my eyes drastically changed. Need to mention that I had to go back to the store a total of 6 times to get all 4 test contacts because nothing is ever been communicated or organized or ordered correctly... So after 4 weeks, I was more blind with contacts than without. So went back to get a new eye test, and they did it for free, thank god! This time I had a different doctor who was much more efficient and to the point. But trying to get my yearly supply took them another 1.5 months, every time there was either something missing, or something wrong. Lying thieving idiots talked me into getting progressive lenses, which I only agreed to so they would shut up about it. $230 for something that made me throw up because I just couldn't get use to them. They assured me that if I wasn't satisfied within 2 months to bring them back and they'd make it right. Well I brought them back within 2 weeks and was told I do not get that $230 back. After getting my prescription back in February from Eyeglass World, Merritt Island), I decided to buy some extra reading glasses online, {With their prescription). I ordered the glasses on line and when I received them the distance was too short to read my computer screen. The company I bought the glasses from told me they needed the PD, (Pupil Distance), which was just blank in my prescription. I went in person to correct it and the Doctor was there and he changed some other values of my prescription but left the PD blank. Now I tried calling explaining my situation and they tell me they will not provide the PD value since I did not buy any glasses from them. I paid for a full eye test, and it really doesn't make sense since you can get a PD ruler on line, print it and do it yourself at home. Their staff are RUDE! RUDE! RUDE!. When I got the prescription back in February prices were extremely expensive and I mentioned to the lady who was trying to sell me the glasses it was too much for me, and she just simply responded, "Have a nice day", with a sad, miserable face. Not my mistake she is unhappy at her job. Now when I call this morning they give the excuse they will not provide that PD I need. A guy left me on hold for 15 mins then comes to the line telling me I need to talk to the Doctor who only comes Tuesdays. Out of my frustration I said, "You guys are amazing", and he sarcastically responded, "Thank You"! This employees seems to like challenging their customers with their lack of professionalism and terrible customer service. Not sure what kind of manager will allowed this kind of behavior continuously loosing customers as other reviews have left that store without intention of coming back. I scheduled an eye exam on Dec 14, 2020 I was seen by an optometrist there. I explained that my insurance would be up on Dec 31. I was to be fitted for contacts. They did not have the correct prescription there so they gave me something else to try while they ordered my correct prescription. The contacts they gave me did not work for me. I never got a phone call saying my contacts were in so on Dec 31 I called and was told that they had not arrived. I had to call several times and finally spoke to a mgron Jan 18 . He said that they had arrived on the 11th. I received no call from anyone. Needless to say I can not trust this company and have decided to go elsewhere. I could never recommend this company! I went to this location twice, they schedule Eye exams at the same time the store opens (not a good idea), but the doctor was late. He was a good doctor, my problem was with Eyeglass World, I tried to get a pair of glasses to help me read better, with the understanding that I may need to change them in 4 to 6 weeks if I get cataract surgery. He told me that I would have to use my insurance to pay for the glasses now and when I returned in 4 to 6 weeks, I would have to pay again out of pocket to get my lens updated with the new prescription. None of this made any sense, there website states if your vision changes within 60 days, you can get your lens updated without being charged. I also emailed the company and never got a response. This is very bad customer service. I do not recommend this place or this company. read more

Being four-eyed, getting an eye exam and finding frames is an annual (bi-annual?) necessity. This location has had my business for the past 4yrs. It helps to have an appointment, but I've also seen walk-ins get seen with very little wait. The store is open and airy, not cramped or crowed like that "other" place that will help restore your "20/20" vision. Frame selection is vast, and at all price tiers. The in-house Optometrist is great and funny if you get to know him. They take insurance, which can help reduce the cost of your frames and lenses. Do not hesitate to give them a try, I bet you will be thoroughly impressed. read more

We got the wrong prescription which resulted in migraines, dizziness, and nausea. When we got back, they tried to minimize the problem by saying they were only off by a little. People get sued for making such a huge mistake. I also noticed when leaving that their certificates are out of date. The people were generally nice but I really didn't like how they downplayed the seriousness of the situation so I will never go back. Go to LensCrafters or a doctor's office. read more

Bought two of the same glasses and the technician broke one of the glasses when installing the lens. owned the glasses for three months and both of them broke around the lens in the same area. Only because I couldn't give zero stars. The optometrist office diagnosed me with the wrong prescription for glasses and contacts. Eyeglass world took care of the glasses and made it right but the optometrist office would never return my calls so the company I was getting my contacts from tried to contact them. After several tries the optometrist finally returned their call with the response that the contact prescription had expired after 2 months. Everywhere else in the state it is good for 1 year. I will never go to another location! I've been overpaying at the eye doctor for years. Little strapped for cash so I stopped in here. With my 3 year old in tow. Of course the glasses were great, a huge selection for a reasonable price. I had a small hiccup with my insurance that the staff helped me navigate, and my glasses were done and perfect the same day. You can't ask for much more. But all of the associates here went far above and beyond with my son. They were so patient with him, included him in what they were doing, and just showed so much care and compassion for us. It was honestly an amazing experience, just getting new glasses. My son has a new best friend at this location and already says he misses her and wants to go back. Most places you go with a small child there is lots of disapproving glances, an air of "oh no what are they gonna wreck" but not here. It was seriously like home and family. First of all, I have to disagree with most of these reviews! The customer service at this location of Eyeglass World was beyond perfect! They were friendly, knowledgeable, caring...I can go on and on! The office was clean and comfortable. They took me on time and the doctor was so helpful and caring! I came upon this because I accidently tore my contact lens. When I called the store, they were able to fit me in the next day, even the girl who answered the phone was helpful and concerned!! I've used another " eyeglass superstore" in the past, I promised myself that I would never return to that store! Eyeglass World in Merritt Island was nothing like my past experiences in that "superstore" who advertise to give the best price, service etc....Eyeglass World is definitely worth going to! I saw Dr. Olsen and had the worst experience. I was given a prescription for new glasses from him that I got filled there. When the glasses came in the prescription wasn't much better then my old glasses. I saw him and he made a slight adjustment to my glasses and when they came in they were not much better. I was very disappointed and upset so I went elsewhere to get a new prescription. The new doctor informed I had cataracts and maybe glaucoma!! He never once mentioned this to me. Unbelievable! I had an appointment this morning to have my eyes checked. I decided to go "local" so I called for an appointment and was given one for the following week, which was just what I wanted. The person answering the phone Amanda, was lovely and so helpful. Today when I went for the appointment, Amanda greeted me and had me fill out some info, then, Dr. Duke examined my eyes, with one of the most thorough eye exams I have had in a long time. He was kind, professional, and helpful. He answered all the question I had about the eye problems that have plagued our family, and also reassured me that my eyes were healthy. This made me happy. First of all, the doctor is rude and rushed me through the fastest exam I've ever had in 40 years of wearing corrective lenses. I'm not at all convinced that my prescription is correct. But what angers me the most is that I was charged full price - $78.99 - for the exam despite the fact that I have insurance, of which I know they were aware because I was billed correctly for the lenses and frames. I pointed this out when I returned to pick up my glasses (which took two weeks to arrive) and the woman who runs the desk in the optometry section called the corporate office and told me I would receive a credit on the bank card that I had used for payment. A month later - April 4 - I returned and told her I never received the credit. She again called the office and told me I would receive a credit on my account within three days or a check would be mailed to me within five days. Another month went by and I returned to the store on May 7 to tell them I had still not received the refund. This time the other woman who works in that section told me she sent an email to the office and was waiting for a reply. She took my phone number and assured me that she would contact me by the end of the day. That was a month ago and I never got a phone call or a refund. I will continue to pursue this matter until Eyeglass World corrects their mistake and returns the money they wrongfully took from me, but I will not take my business to them again. read more
