Not impressed with this lens crafters. We waited 45 minutes to talk to the manager to ask a simple question about glasses we bought at their establishment. The first lady we asked when we entered the store was Petra, she told us she would ask the manager and to wait. We waited for about 20 minutes then we approached short hair lady and told her our situation. She then went to the laboratory to ask them if they could do what we wanted to do with the glasses, came back immediately and said they could do what we were asking for but had to get the approval from the manager. She then went back to the office, I presume to ask the manager. She then helped customers. 40 minutes now have passed and we then ask Petra again, who was at the counter. She was very rude and told us just to sit down. We saw the manager talk to two walk in customers as we were patiently waiting and could tell she was ignoring us. The short hair lady came to the desk and we asked her yet again... She apologized and acknowledged that we were waiting for such a long time already. She went to the manager and kindly interrupted the session with the manager even if she was with a client to explain our situation. Two minutes later she came back with an answer.... Unfortunately it was not an answer we liked, but it took two minutes. I would rate the lady with short hair four stars for great customer service and the rest a 1 star. Totally agree with the other reviewers.. If it's a new pair of glasses they will entertain you, but if not... Don't waste your time coming here... But if you do... Look for lady with really short hair -boys cut. You won't be disappointed! read more

This establishment took my order for contacts, charged my credit card and my contacts were supposed to be shipped within 3 days. When the contacts did not arrive within the time frame specified I contacted the store and was told the contacts were shipped to the wrong address. I asked the store to overnight a second set of my contacts because I was almost out of contacts. 24 hours later and I am still getting the run- around from the employees. No I formation on shipping or anything else. Do not go to this Lens Crafters if at all possible!! Poor follow through on customer service. They do not seem to know what they are doing. read more

I've interacted with the staff at this LensCrafters on 2 occasions for repairs to my Ray-Ban prescription sunglasses. During my first interaction (in January '11) the staff members tried to tell me that the 1 year warranty I'd paid for in Saint Louis (3 months earlier) didn't apply in California. Guess what, it does, but only after you argue with them. That aside, they fixed the glasses in reasonable time. Unfortunately, the lenses they gave me began to exhibit a disconcerting characteristic. They popped out of the frames of their own volition and on their own schedule, often striking the floor and scratching. As you can imagine, I was perturbed. When I returned to the Monterey location yesterday (2 Jun 11) the store was understaffed and grossly overwhelmed. I had some time, so I dropped the pair off, asked for a completion estimate (they said 3 hours) and thanked them kindly. 2 hours later, I stopped in to check on their progress. At that point they told me that all was well. I gave them 2 further hours and returned to find them inputing my work order into the computer. That is to say that repairs had not even begun on my glasses and it had been 4 hours. I asked why they hadn't bothered to call me with an update and why they had provided inaccurate information in my first return. The answer was that they had been busy. I then asked to see the manager in order to express my frustration. Her response was that the computers had gone down and it wasn't her fault. No apologies, not even the glimmer of sympathy. So much for trying to please the customer. I applaud the staff for being the only game in town. If they were not, I would never return. We'll see if they manage to have my Ray-Bans finished when I return today. read more

Walk-ins are NOT welcome here. On vacation we walked in to LensCrafters because they had a nice deal and I have had good experiences with them before. I need new glasses too. Let me just say that everyone I had contact with was pleasant and nice. I have still not been seen by the doctor at 2:00 PM and I walked in at 11:30 AM. I walked in at 11:30 AM and made an appointment to be seen at 12:20 PM. I was escorted to the back to do all the preliminary work up. I was seated to wait for the doctor. That's when everything derailed. At 12:40 PM I found out from the manager that the people that had appointments ahead of mine had arrived and they needed to be seen first. Okay. I sat down with the staff and found my new eye glass frames and got measured for the correct fit. Even had a pleasant discussion about pricing as well. I went back to my seat in the hallway and was told that it should be 25 minutes as there was only one appointment ahead of me. Okay. At 2:00 PM my phone died so I could no longer read my book while waiting for my 12:20 PM appointment. Apparently, booking an appointment as a walk-in has some special significance I was unaware of. Further, since I was sitting quietly and patiently waiting rather than throwing a fit at the blatant lack of consideration I became less of a concern. I manage a business. If I demonstrated this kind of failure toward my clients I would no longer have a business or a job. No wonder people are forced to go to Costco for their glasses. The customer service in this place was horrendous. The sales girl was like a robot and really did not want to help at all. I had to scrounge through the glasses myself. She couldn't figure out my insurance and was wrong. I had to call the company myself.She gave me no feedback on what looked good and what didn't. Despite all the negative reviews, I decided to give this place the benefit of the doubt since it is so conveniently located. This however, was a very poor decision and I should have heeded the warnings of others. On three occasions now, I have had to wait over 30mins for the appointment that was scheduled. The first appoint was over an hour late. I had to return a second time as they could not determine my contact prescription. Once my prescription was determined they would not release my Rx to me in order to purchase contacts online. I have worn contacts for over 20 years and this is the first optometry place that I most certainly NEVER return to. I actually rate this as 0! read more

I went in already knowing which glasses I wanted to purchase, had to wait in a chair for over 20 mins just to get a sales associate to help me. This was fine, whatever, someone must be on a lunch break or something. Soon thereafter, they were having issues with my insurance and said it was because it was the weekend. Hmm, that doesnt sound right, but regardless, I had to call the insurance on Monday morning to work it out. Could they call for me? No, it has to be done by the insured. Monday morning I called the insurance, turns out when I had come in before to PICK OUT the glasses, Lenscrafters had placed a hold on my insurance. Quote from my insurance: "I dont know why they told you to call, they placed the hold, they need to call." Great. This is now delaying my much needed glasses for no reason for another 2 days. Lenscrafters seemed annoyed at my instruction to call the insurance, or confused. Well whatever, no big deal. A month later, when I needed a copy of my itemized receipt, I had to call up this store and go through some more ridiculousness. Me: I need a copy of my receipt for my glasses, please. Lady: Ok, well we open at 10, you can come in after 10. Me: Well I'm at work and not close by, can you fax it? Lady: Well ok, but it wont be until after 10 when we open. Me: really? Wait what time do you open? Actually I didnt say that last line, but I did think it (and it was 9:45, not that crazy to be calling). After multiple phone calls because they wrote down my fax number wrong, getting hung up on and left on hold for over 5 minutes, my itemized receipt arrived over 3 hours later. She asked me for the fax number and I said I didn't have good service, could she look it up and fax it. "We don't do that here". Just terrible customer service. I visited them at Del Monte Center in MONTEREY. today. Customer service was UNSAT. The staff did not answer my question and the did not know what the coverage was under my Aetna Vision Care. While talking to the staff a new customer walked in. She let me to weight on her and did not come back. Two more new customers walked in. This was just after lunch. I asked her when she might have more staff in the facility? She said after 4 PM. I departed and phoned Aetna. My insurance provider said I was covered for both Frames and lenses. & the LensCrafter should know this by pulling up my data on their system. I provided the LensCrafter staff with all my data and they could not find my coverage. I tried to book an appointment to obtain glasses online with LenCrafters. No Joy. They only take appointments for a Eye Exams. I will try a walk-in visit one more time read more

I will NEVER come here again. Had to come back 4 times for a contact lens for even though I have been wearing contacts for 21 years. Ordered glasses, waited 2 weeks, they came and they put in a prescription from 3 years ago! Had to re order. Then....get this....I ordered $250 worth of contacts, they told me let's ship them for free to your house. A month later I still don't have them. Come to find out they sent them to my address 2 years ago! I even verified my address when I ordered them. Trust me do not come to this facility! I have had only great experiences with Del Monte LensCrafters. I was skeptical at first due to the large amount of negative reviews, however the kind staff and quick wait times changed my mind. If you're looking for glasses give them a chance. Worse customer service ever!! I made an appointment almost a week in advance and called my insurance and made sure everything was ready for my appointment. Michelle and her "assistant" entered my information and left me waiting for 20 mins to then let me know my insurance wasn't responding. They try to input the information again and leave me waiting for another 10min. Michelle also let me know that they were really busy and they couldn't call vsp for me. Then another lady calls me by another name and then proceeds to let me know I was out of network. Don't ever go here and waste your time !!! read more

Was very happy with the eye doctor at this location. He was very patient with me because sometimes I feel I can't decide which slide is more clear. I went in to get my lenses changed in two pairs of glasses as well as contacts as my new prescription is unfortunately way worse than it used to be. I worked with several different staff members who were very patient with me trying to come up with the cheapest combination to fulfill my needs. (What to apply my insurance too, what discounts they had going on, which combo gave me the highest discounts etc.) I started with one gentleman who was trying his very best but before we could finish our transaction he had to go to lunch where I got switched to another lady (Cynthia? I think her name was). I expected her to be annoyed to be handed a crazy transaction in the middle of chaos. However she was also super patient and even came up with better savings for me! Overall I ended up working with/speaking to 4 different people on the floor who were all extremely helpful and patient and kind. Definitely appreciated all their attention. read more

My oh my this is the first time that I am verbalizing my displeasure about a corporation. Lens crafters, first of all, I am severely disappointed in your customer service, lack of professionalism, and overall deterring environment. I went out of my way to download an app and express my displeasure and from someone who had a passive social media I presence, I think this speaks volumes about how undeniably ufurious I was when I left this establishment. Each time I leave an appointment, granted it be only about once or twice a year, I have a negative association with my visit. Usually my need to keep things in one place keeps me from transferring to a different optometrist, but no longer. This past visit left me with a scheduling and presentation flaw via the website making me believe my appointment had been confirmed, however it had never been booked. This caused me to days later discover the issue, pushing my appointment to a further date. This was the beginning of my displeasure. I then decided to stop into lens crafters to grab a pair on temporary contact lenses, something that had willingly done at my last appointment about 1/2 years prior. I was told by the associate the no, in fact, that's illegal and cannot be done. I understood and figured I could get by on a week without contacts. It was infuriating functioning with glasses because I work at a tap room and every time I opened the glass dishwasher couldn't see for a solid minute. Very obnoxious and I was dreaming all week of having my contacts back. So I think one can understand why I am writing this review once I tell you that while I was writing out all of my medical paperwork, the woman at the front desk that greeted me, Cherise, called me up in front and informed me that I no longer had an appointment as I had been 5 minutes late. Typically, these appointment run anywhere from 15-20 minutes late. I asked if I could speak to a manager, because it may not be another week or so until an appointment was available and I was not thrilled. Cherise informed me that she herself was the manager but could do nothing for my. I would like to express this : 5 MINUTES, and no one was in the cue. I have been coming to Lenscrafters for my glasses/contacts since I was in Kindergarten...and the only reasons I continue to go here is because of low price and conveinence. When I book an appointment here (only once a year to get my contact prescription renewed) I expect them to be understaffed and to have to wait. Sometimes even a phone call to this store will require a long hold time. Thank goodness they now allow you to book your appointments online. I have even started ordering my contacts on 1-800contacts.com to avoid coming back to the store (and they have a lower price) In the past I have usually had the same doctors who spent time with me and made me feel like I was in good hands. However, this past appointment really changed my mind. My appointment was at 4:00pm and surprisingly enough I didn't have to wait too long to be seen for the quick pre tests. I thought the appointment was getting off to a good start..that was until I was put in the room to wait for the doctor. I did not see the doctor until 4:45...... I heard her in the other room assisting a woman with her new contacts so I tried to be understanding. What I really didn't appreciate at all though was how rushed I felt by the doctor. She talked extremely fast, didn't take any time to be personal with me or ask me how I was doing, or to thank me for waiting so long. When she was flipping the lenses asking me to decide which one was better she didn't give me a second to decipher which way allowed me to see better. It takes your eyes a second to adjust!! No lie she did the entire exam in 10 minutes.... I was out of her office by 4:55..and this included putting new contacts in!! Then when I proceeded to check out (Which required al ong wait as well) the girl who helped me who was "new" talked through the whole thing saying things like...."oh they didn't have u in the check out cart already, of course that would be too easy", "why did the doctor write your prescription like that"...and my favorite..."someone else really needs to come up here so I can help that couple that is sitting down". ......By the time I got done paying it was 5:20... The staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The wait was longer than I anticipated. Dr. Hogan was very thorough. My beef is that I've been wearing contact lenses since the mid 1980's the past 8 through lens crafters at Del Monte. I just needed a prescription update. For the first time in my life I was required to come back for a follow up before they would release my contact prescription to me. That was very inconvenient especially since I'm not a newbie to contacts. The follow up appointment started 45 minutes late as well. Didn't need an eye exam, just replaced the pair of glasses that the little one lost. Paid $550 for the exam and glasses at the other eye doctor and had to wait two weeks to get the glasses. The new glasses were about $140 and were done in an hour and a half. They might not have the selection of the other place, but you can't beat the price and service. read more

First contact lens appt, I kid you not was 2.5 hours. not the exam. just waiting. had an appointment, they moved it earlier. 4:40 appt left at 7. Did anyone apologize for waiting? Nope. One office staff member joked that they should feed us that are waiting. The office person does a whole bunch of tests that seemingly tell the dr your approximate prescription. 2nd appt to fit the new contracts... guess what I'm doing right now? waiting. it's been over an hour. In my opinion this place is very outrageously overpriced and the staff seems clueless, including and perhaps especially in the lab. In my first experience, they ground my lenses wrong and I had to go back to the MD who found this on his equipment. They try to sell you all sorts of extra cost items such as lens coatings, A few years ago they were caught charging for the coatings and not even applying them. You pay dearly for convenience and I think you will be lucky to get anything that's right. "The wrong glasses in about an hour." At least I had relatively little trouble getting a refund, although they tried everything to talk me out of it. read more

I had a great experience at LensCrafters in the Del Monte Mall. I got there at about almost 9pm when they were closing up and I needed a pair of dark sunglasses due to some medications that I take and I had an idea of what glasses I wanted, a pair of Aviators (replacing Burberry ones that broke after a while) and in a black lens or brown--I didn't know which one would be better for my particular reason for usage--and for some reason I am the worst at making quick decisions over sunglasses or a trifling thing due to the time--moving, I can reckon where and when in an hour, but which pair of sunglasses to get is hard for me even though I have worn two kinds of the Ray-Ban Aviator sunglasses before always with success and have gone through about five pairs in my life...still I was indecisive as to which to get and it was about 9:40pm when I left the store. The people at LensCrafter were really cool about the time and found me the best pair with a very large selection of Ray-Bans (turned out that black lenses were the best, the brown just took some of the glare away like shooter's glasses), and I tried on each of the darkest lenses in the shop to find the best pair for me. They indulged me looking at almost every Ray-Ban and other brands as well to find just the right one. After helping me pick the darkest shades they had in the store, which were a pair of Ray-Bans though smaller by a little than the larger ones I'd had in the past they were the darkest glasses I've ever had and they gave me ten percent off, plus told me that if I didn't like them to come the morning after then (for thirty days) while they were fixing them to my face, a service they would always do since I bought them there, to return them and get my money back or get another pair if I liked--no questions asked--but there was no need, as the salesman had said I indeed did love my new sunglasses and still do. I love my pair of Ray-Ban's, they are the perfect size and darkness for my eyes. So even though they were wanting to leave they still helped me out a lot, gave me a discount just because they wanted to, fixed them to my particular face, and if I had a fickle mind about them I could return them within thirty days should I have a buyer's remorse, and they most of all treated me well the entire time (and they had a huge selection, more than I had found at any other place), always courteous and quite helpful. And I recommend it. Ray-Ban 3025 I never go any place without them. The only downside is that LensCrafters used to make the lenses darker or a different color if you wanted them to, but I guess they don't offer this service anymore, but that was about fifteen years ago. So much potential, but so little execution. Over the course of three days I visited LensCrafters three times and called them once, and they still lost a sale. Let me explain. Day one: I visited the store in the morning, interested in purchasing my first pair of prescription glasses in four years. I spent about 20 minutes browsing frames, trying to find a certain style I had seen online. Towards the end of that time, one of the associates was able to help me find a few frames similar, and explained their current promotion. I ended up leaving, deciding to think about what I had found. Later that day I returned, hoping to get a price quote on one of those frames. 15 minutes went by, and no one came over to help. One associate was tending to two-three customers. Another associate, returning from a break, said "we will be right with you" and never came out from the back of the store. Frustrated, I left the store. Day two: A second attempt to the store to get a price quote on a pair of glasses, and I experienced the same situation as the day before. I once again left. Day three: I decided to call and speak to an associate on the phone, hoping to get a price quote. The person I spoke with was rude and did not sound motivated to help a customer. When asked what kind of lens I wanted, I responded with "do you offer different kinds of lenses?" Instead of answering with what type of lenses the store offers, the female I spoke with simply said "yes". I have gladly decided to take my business elsewhere. read more

I went to Lenscrafters about 13 years ago and had major problems with them regarding, first of all their treating me as an immediate customer and secondly, them getting my prescription right. I decided to give them another try 6 months ago as I wanted tinted glasses and they could do it. I walk in and there are ALWAYS other distractions, that make me feel as though I am an afterthought, and not a priority. I spend hours there overall. Then there is the problem with the glasses. They have never gotten them right over 4 trys/redos. I have spent $400 there and my glasses are useless, although they look good!! I will NEVER ever go back to Lenscrafters and have told everyone I know the same. I wish I could give a reivew to their Corporate office and go right to the top!!!!!
