The fact that a manager contacted my wife directly to rectify our situation let me know that this business is working towards customer satisfaction. I was taken by surprise in a totally positive manner to LensCrafters response. Dr. Goodman's office has done a great job of getting the correct prescription for my eyes for the last 3 years and it's great that LensCrafters is tightening up their side of the house to keep up. The best service I have ever seen at Lenscrafters. When I walk into a frame shop, I expect someone to help me pick out frames, to have a good amount of energy (not too much so I can breathe but they better move fast enough so I don't waste my time), to make suggestions on frames that fit my face and look good on me, not to overwhelm me, and to get me in and out of the store quickly while still feeling I made a great purchase. I got all of that from a great guy (sorry never got your name). You get 5 stars for service. Going with 4 stars just because I didn't find a pair of frames that I loved...wanted something with a little pizazz that still met all the requirements I need to wear to work. I went to the Montgomery, AL facility about a week ago to look for frames that might match my lenses. First of all this place was a premier eye care store for my insurance. After telling the representative what I needed she said we would have to look through all of these frames to try and find you one. As in if she didn't want to have to do it. REMEMBER, I was the customer and she was suppose to help me. I then said to her that I didn't want to be a bother and could go some where else. She then said if you bring your prescription we can just fill it. Remind you that I told her that it wasn't time for me to get a complete pair of glasses or to have an eye exam and she just kept suggesting that I could bring my prescription in. I would NEVER refer ANYONE to this LensCrafters because the representative that I had was by far not nice nor did she want to assist me for what I needed and I was the customer that was paying for what I wanted. read more

I'm sure the service here is good in terms of quality of eye care but they are SLOWWWW. Getting an eye exam and glasses took me 2 1/2 hours last Saturday. And I still had to come back a week later for my glasses. The price was more than I expected - WAY more - but I am getting compliments on the new specs. read more

I flew in from out of town to visit my parents over the holidays and ended up staying longer than expected due to being hospitalized. Because of my unexpected extended stay, I ran out of contacts and wasn't able to order them and have them shipped in enough time before my flight leaves, as they take 5-10 days to ship. I thought I could call LensCrafters and at least get a 5 day trial pair to hold me over until I flew back home. I contacted the Montgomery location and explained to them that I was a LensCrafters patient in another state visiting from out of town and that I had my prescription and asked if they could possibly accommodate me. The young lady that answers the phone from Dr.Goodmans office, Jacklyn I think was her name, was very rude. She responded with "We don't do that. We have to order trials". She didn't event halfway attempt to help and offer another solution or even suggest I come in or anything. Aside from the horrible customer service, she lied about not having trials available. That's the first thing any optometrist provides after a contact Lenese exam, so I know she lied! Came here to get any eye exam and glasses because they were on my insurance. I will not be back or recommend this place to anyone. The eye doctor seems to be in such a hurry that he doesn't even perform the eye exam correctly. As my prescription was double the strength. I had to go back and have him recheck my prescription after I got my glasses from someone else and could not see out of them. So now I have to pay 150 to have the lenses remade since the DR. Screwed up the prescription and they told me that they would not pay to have my glasses redone so now I am out 250.00. I was going to get my glasses from LensCrafters but when I went back to get the frames I picked out they came back with a price that was almost 150.00 more than what they told me the first time and you have to watch out because they just add stuff to your order like the 1 year warranty that is about 40 - 50 extra and they don't tell you about. This review is long overdue, to make a long story short I had some lens put in a Oakley frame I ordered pre-covid. I love transitions so I had to get the brown transitions and all the good stuff to protect lenses from being scratched etc. Great customer service at the time.. picked up glasses things looked. Fast forward to Covid environment everything is on lock down...I'm concerned about the transitions not transitioning appropriately. So I tried to reach out to LensCrafters only to hear about long hold times. My thoughts I'm not going to sit on hold for 1-2 hrs. Time is money, so I end up waiting until I'm comfortable going back to the mall (which is about a year later). So I stroll in and ask the specialist helping me to consider the pandemic and my reasoning for not coming in earlier. He gives me a lame excuse saying that they gave a time period to address only 30 days info the pandemic issues with glasses. He takes my frames back and notices the same thing if you force maximum light the lens will shade.. I've only seen the transitions in my lenses maybe 4-5 times after a purchased them. He tops it off by saying my prescription which is the one they have on file is out of date & time for me to look at some new options ...(he doesn't know I've already been updated from a different store). At the end of the day I thought customer service would have been better considering everyone was just involuntarily exposed to a pandemic era in life. I have spent lots of money with lens crafters in the past but this is the straw that has caused me to re-evaluate spending money with them because of poor craftsmanship in making a pair of lenses that didn't transition well. I've already upgraded to another current frame & have transitions applied to the prescription lenses that transition effortlessly. read more

I have been through the eye exam/new glasses routine many times now and I recently had my 3rd time with Lens Crafters at Eastdale Mall. Obviously, my experiences have been positive, or I would not keep returning. My latest experience serves as a good example: I had problems with my last frames (my prescription was perfect) and they replaced them w/o charge after a couple of efforts to make the original frames work. The assistant answered my questions, helped me try on a few frames and even gave me a handful of lens wipes. It took 4 hours JUST too see the Doctor to get my eye exam. The sales floor is spectacular, especially the young man Jamie who helped me out. I always get my frames here. BUT, I should have went to my regular eye doctor instead. It never takes 4 hours there. If I could give the Doctor's clinic in the back a half of a star I would! I can see why this store location will soon be gone. We went there on May 26th after having another poor experience at an America's Best (NOT), followed by another one at Lens Crafters after that! It was on a Saturday, about 1:30 in the afternoon. My prescription bi-focals had broken in half and my older backups were not very good so the only other option were readers and it really wasn't working out. Anyway, we drove over an hour to get there and were told that the doctor wouldn't be back from lunch for another hour (2:30). We were also told that my lenses would NOT fit in any other frames! I would have to wait to see the doctor, pay $104 for that exam, THEN they would know IF they even had my lenses in stock, if not, then I'd pick out a new set of frames, and they'd have to order the lenses. That would mean I'd have to wait and come back in another two weeks. This was all too unreasonable for me. We ended up walking out, going to Eyemart Express, just a couple miles away, walked into a very busy store, were greeted by very friendly SMILING employees, and a gentleman came out and started helping us before I could even sign in! He found a set of acceptable frames for my lenses inside of two whole minutes and had my prescription bi-focals in them inside another 10 whole minutes! We were wowed to say the least by Eyemart Express! It's no wonder there were so many people in Eyemart Express and NOT ANYONE in the Lens Crafters. very displeased with manager. got a call the day before that the lens that was ordered was in. drove 60 miles to have put in my glasses,got there, found out lab was closed. not very happy, manager had a so what attitude. was going to get refund but asked for some cred for time and gas. finall got 50.00 credit. i did not mind going back when lab reopened(manage not sure when it would reopen) but attitude of managwer got me. read more
