I've gone there for 3 years. Don't enjoy my first experience but it wasn't the worst and it seemed easier to keep going back than to find a new eye dr. That was my first mistake. There are several things that have happened but here are the things just from my last visit. I go in and do all my tests. She comes and says he eyes have gotten slightly worse, with one eye being worse than the other. My eyes have always been equal so it was disappointing but whatever. I put the new contacts in and everything is messed up. I can barely see. I tell her that and she gave me a new contact that is the same as my other eye (so both were the exact same) and I could see perfect. Somehow they messed up and tried telling me one eye was worse than the other. And some could say well you're the one doing the test and answering the questions ... Ive done these eye exams since I was 9 (currently 22) and I've never had something like that happen. When im finally done with the appointment the lady is getting me ready to go to the desk to order my contacts. She says to me "the guy up front is a talker so I'm trying to stall before bringing you up" well come on now. I've already been here for an hour and I want to leave. Finally she just gives me my paperwork and says she's not gonna come with because she doesn't want to get stuck up there. So I go up and yeah this guy is a talker. Talking about everything but his eyes. I stood there waiting behind him for at LEAST 5 minutes. Heaven forbid they nicely mention there's somebody waiting behind him. I understand wanting to be polite and let him talk but he wasn't talking anything about his eyes, it was about his wife and plenty of other things. I finally get to the desk to order my contacts and they give me the option of delivery. I took it because it would save me a trip from going to the mall. A couple weeks later I still dont have my contacts so I give them a call. They tell me they were delivered a week ago. Well I never got any type of notification and I never got them either way. They tell me there's nothing they can do and that I have to contact ups to put in a claim. I DIDNT EVEN GET A UPS NUMBER! They never provided anything for me. They finally give me the number and I go to put in a claim. UPS comes back and says they can't do anything so I need to go through the seller. So I call LensCrafters back and they say there's nothing they can do and to contact Johnson and Johnson who officially sell the contacts. So I do. They tell me there's nothing they can do because the seller is LensCrafters. After constantly going back and forth with them LensCrafters finally agrees to resend the contacts. Absolutely ridiculous. I have visited this LensCrafters location waaay too many times this year - not their fault! I had a terrible eye doctor that could not get my prescription right and finally went to a new doctor and seemed to have gotten it right. With that being said Kayla saw me coming in regularly and took ownership of my case and made sure that I was taken care of the best to her ability - she told me if I have issues just ask for since she knew my case and prevent me from having to tell the saga to someone new. I recently moved back to VA and needed a new eye dr. I scheduled an appointment for this location because they were one of the only eye drs who had availability for months. Should've been the first red flag. When they called me to schedule, they asked for all of my insurance information and *SUPPOSEDLY* checked my benefits and I would be fully covered for everything except my contact lenses fitting. I showed up early to my appointment and no one showed up to the desk for the first 10-15 minutes I waited. A woman finally comes to the front and told me she didn't have my insurance information on file and needed to verify it. When I told her I had United Healthcare (same thing I told whoever I scheduled with) and she proceeded to tell me they don't accept UH and to have a seat. I told her if they weren't accepting my insurance then there was no reason for me to stay and waste more time (we were about 20 minutes past my appt at this point). She told me "I was able to pull it up, do you have contacts in?" I told her I did and she tried to send me back to a room to remove my contacts and start the exam. I asked her to confirm for me how much it would be since I was feeling weird that they didn't already have my insurance information verified. Im a single mom who just moved back from being out of state ... I don't have thousands to just throw away. She got a bit of an irritated look before sitting down again and just staring at her computer with an attitude. She finally looks up at me and says "So actually you would need to pay (insert hundreds amount) because you used your benefits in February." And just stared at me. I said "ma'am this is my work insurance for a job I started in April. There's no possible way I have used my allowance." She continued to state that I had used it already. I explained to her that if it says that it's been spent, that is not correct because it is literally impossible. I explained that I waited 3 weeks for this appointment and I told them when I scheduled that I was on my last pair of contacts and my glasses were YEARS outdated. She continued to just stare at me completely lacking empathy that this situation could've been easily avoided (and handled PRIOR to my appt with a simple phone call to UH) so I was now left with painful eyes and no new appointment scheduled. Horrible horrible experience & I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. I ended up walking past 'My Eye Dr' on my way out. Out of pure curiosity I stopped in and asked if they could check my benefits to see what they can see I'm eligible to receive. Would you believe they turned the screen around and SHOWED ME my benefits were fully intact. I had an allowance for both glasses and contacts. And the staff was extremely kind and friendly. He even told us that they have patients of lens crafters transfer to them constantly for similar experiences. Bottom line, skip LensCrafters and head to MyEyeDr. read more

So I'm at the Busch gardens a little bit down the road from this location and I broke my glasses. The only place open on a Sunday within a reasonable driving distance is this one so they won by default. Took a quick drive, asked the nice lady if she could repair my glasses to which she replied no problem. Took her about 5 minutes, I went to pay her a couple bucks and she smiled and said no charge for adjustments or repairs. So even though I definitely did not buy them at this location as I live in upstate New York, they hooked me up for free.. read more

These folks were amazing! We were in from out of town at the start of our vacation and my son's glasses were lost at Busch Gardens - he's nearly blind without them. We had almost lost hope that there would be any way to fix it before we left in 6 days, but Kim and the team at LensCrafters were the answer to our prayers. They completely understood our issues, found lenses that would work with his strong prescription and had them ready in just a couple hours. Best of all, they were able to dig up our insurance information so we got out with a new set of glasses in good looking frames and a crazy strong prescription for only a $50 co-pay. Vacation saved! Ashley and Katlyn were amazing! The rest of the staff is very friendly there too. Katlyn helped me try on a lot of glasses my first go, I got them in, was indecisive and decided to go with a different pair after all. Ashley probably tried on every Ray-Ban frame with me, just like Katlyn, until we found a pair I really loved! They made both times I was there a fun experience and made sure I got something I absolutely loved and didn't settle; they were also very honest with what looked nice on me and what didn't which I really appreciated. Everyone at this LensCrafters is so nice and helpful! Stephen took a lot of town helping me select the right glasses, and even went out of his way to find me a cheaper, similar pair. Pro Tip: DO NOT GO TO THE OPTOMETRIST NEXT DOOR. I had so much trouble there. Long story short the doctor gave me 2 different perscriptons.... And im not confident that either one of them is correct. But, the manager at the LensCrafters is helping me through the whole process, and gave me the opportunity to get a second opinion from another optometrist, and will refund me for the cost! So this 5 stars applies only to the actual LensCrafters store NOT to Dr. Long next door, who is a solid 1, at best. Save yourself the hastle, and bring your Rx from another optometrist!! read more

I went in to buy safety glasses. Paid and ordered them. I was told it take two weeks. I called after the two weeks and the only update in the system was the lenes are being made. Its been almost three weeks and they tell me the lenses were damaged and have to be re-made. I should have gone to national vision in walmart. Let me preface by saying that I think one should seek out a Lenscrafters when buying frames as a general matter. They carry a wide selection of frames, with a wide range in terms of style and price. The prices aren't inflated, and there are often deals, but you don't have to completely sacrifice fashionable glasses. Plus, you can find a Lenscrafters anywhere, making it that much easier to get your glasses cleaned or fixed. This Lenscrafters let me down a bit. My prescription is bizarre so it costs a lot of money and takes a lot of time for me to get glasses, and by the time the glasses were going to be ready (in two weeks), I would be out of town. I asked if they could be sent to the Ann Arbor store. They said yes, but someone would have to call me and get those instructions from me. Um, ok, sure. This person eventually calls, and I tell them I want to pick them up at the Ann Arbor store. They ask for the address of the store, and I tell them it's in Briarwood mall. Then they just said they'd send it and we hung up. Though something seemed strange about this entire interaction, I let it go for about two more weeks. When I hadn't received the frames, I first called the Ann Arbor store, who knew nothing about it, but assured me that they probably just hadn't arrived yet. I waited a few more days, then called the Newport News store back. They hadn't even sent the glasses yet! I'm not sure there was any reason for this. Once we figured it out, I was exceedingly impressed with how they responded-they apologized and instantly overnight shipped the frames to me at their own expense. This could have gone a lot worse; they could have lost the glasses, for example, or they could have sent them regular mail, to drag out the process another few days. Even so, I'd try hard to be in the local area to pick up your glasses rather than trust them to send them to you. read more

My husband and I received an eye exam and looked at glasses. The optometry office was decorated very nice and somewhat modern, the staff were very pleasant and helpful, and I loved how nice the doctor was. The price was not so nice, however I was given the best service I've ever received during an exam. The optometrist listened to my concerns about contacts and my dream of wanting to try out colored contacts. She let me try on quite a few pairs of colored contacts and was able to direct me to a brand that was right for me. The LensCrafters store staff were also very nice. When we walked in they greeted us even though all associated were assisting customers and as soon as the first one was done, she came up to us and asked if we needed help. Then she proceeded to tell us about the sales they have going on and then let us browse. I left feeling very confident that I would like to come back to get glasses from there. read more

My wife and I found this Lens Crafters online, went in and Jennifer assisted us immediately. She was extremely knowledgeable and exceptionally courteous. Not only that but she maintained the COVID protocols set in place. She offered recommendations and properly fitted my glasses. We shared with her how amazing she was. We will definitely continue using Lens Crafters for our eye care needs. read more

I was in need of my eyes checked the same day so I went here as they were the only location that could fit me in. After misplacing my prescription, they wanted to charge me for a new one when I paid $100 for my original exam. I have always gotten copies for free. They are so money hungry. I will never go back to LensCrafters. read more

My visit to the LensCrafter started off good. I needed to get glasses for myself and my fiancé went with me. I was helped and I suggested to my fiancé he should get his eyes examined since he was with me because I went about a week ago. I'm picking out my glasses and have decided what I wanted and was waiting for him to complete his eye exam. After he was done he needed glasses himself. So now he picked out a pair. The sales representative explained if we used "LensCrafter store card" we could put the glasses on the card if approved for 12 months no interest. So I said ok let me apply because he can't he's going through a refinance. Apparently his information was up on the screen at the time of her stating she's ready to see if I would get approve for this card but she's asking me questions as for as my address, social security number and income but as she's asking me- I'm in putting it in this key pad. It gets denied and I have to wait and see. It's almost two weeks later and my credit haven't been ran and his has. I called the store to talk to the manager and she tells me the customer is the one who puts their information in which is true but before you start obviously the sales person has your information up on the computer and you can't see it. It makes sense now because she had his information up while asking me the questions. He received a paper in the mail stating "unfortunately, based on results of these checks, we are unable to confirm your identity with confidence to approve your application at this time". All of this was in his name- the girl also took my drivers license before we started the application. If it was an honest mistake than say SO. That was my 1st time at LensCrafter. To anyone who goes with someone and your applying for their store card MAKE SURE it's your information up on their screen before you start entering your information on the keypad because you can't see if it's you- your just keying as your asked questions. read more

I bought my first pair of glasses here. I am a very low prescription and just needed glasses for the first time in my 20s. The associates made me feel special and helped me pick out everything. It was pricy but they were the only place that was open due to the back to school season rush. I loved my experience here especially being a newbie to glasses. They have tons and tons of cute styles. I also ordered some Oakley prescription glasses and they told me 2 or more weeks. It came back in a week for pick up! read more

After my insurance paid them I paid another $200 for contacts. I took home 5 pairs and they were completely wrong and I could not see past the hood of my car when driving. I went in for another appointment and I was told that I could see with them. I had to argue that I absolutely could not see and went home with another 5 pairs of a different prescription to which was better but I could not see to read and there was a some blurriness in the distance. I called them to tell them that I just needed glasses not contacts and was told that the $200 I paid was for the contact fitting fee, no refund, and they will not refund the cost of the contacts to my insurance so I can get glasses. So now I am stuck with going to a drug store to buy reading glasses. read more

I am rating this merchant zero stars based on 2 experiences at this location, this past weekend being the worst (11/13/2011). We arrived just prior to the store opening so that we could get in early because my daughter was tring to get her glasses before she went to work. We were the first in line when they opened the gate. We went up to the desk and the lady seemed intent on waiting on everyone but us. The other patrons were telling her that we were there first so she told my daughter that someone would be with her soon. Sje assigned everyone else to a desk and put us behind everyone. When I told her that we got there early becuase my daighter had to work, she replied "well there are only 2 of us here so you will just have to wait". Despite there "in about an hour" advertisement it took longer than two weeks for my glasses to arrive. After the ten day period, that I was told would take for my glasses, I called and was told the lenses came in defective and required reorder. They were not able to go give an arrival date. I asked for them to find out and call me with that information. I never received a return call. Two days left called back and was told my lenses "just arrived". I stated I would be there the following morning to pick them up. When I came in I was told they were not ready and that equipment was broken. At this time, they could not give me a time to pick up my new eyeglasses. Sixteen days after my order, I got a text that my glasses were ready. This was at a time when the store was closed. On a Sunday afternoon, I went in to try on my glasses. They were bent during the installation of the lenses beyond repair. I asked to wear the glasses until new frames could be ordered and arrive in the store. I was told they could not allow this without talking to the manager. The manager would not be in until the next day. I finally just asked for a refund. I have worn eyeglasses my entire life and was hoping for a new pair for a vacation. My whole experience resulted in nothing but frustration and having to start from beginning. They also lost my written prescription and I had to return to my ophthalmologist for a new one. I did call on Monday and speak to manager and she offered no apology. read more

Purchased two pairs of glasses. One transitional bifocals with anti glare, clear vision coating. Another expensive frame for sunglasses with the same anti glare and clear. Over $1100.00 for two pairs of glasses. When the woman told me 7-10 business days, I kind of withdrew. I didn't want to wait that long. She assured me that they "usually come in within 5 days." 11 days later I get a voicemail from LensCrafters telling me that the prescription was done wrong and that they "didn't feel comfortable passing that along because it could cause eye strain and headaches." Gee, you think???? WTH? The voicemail then says that they are sending them back and putting a rush on them, "hopefully" they will be back by the end of the week! Are you freaking kidding me? I don't want these lenses rushed in three days! At this point, I just want to purchase the frames and take them somewhere else to be fitted with lenses. NEVER AGAIN! I will NEVER buy glasses at LensCrafters again. Go somewhere else after your eye exam! read more
