This is a tough review. I've been going to this location for 3 years. Every year is pleasant. The staff is friendly. This year for whatever reason, stock is low. Not much to choose from. I'm not shopping their basic frames. I'm looking for designer frames. The Prada frame I wanted to try was not in stock. The sales manager actually let me try her frame on, which was a Dolce Gabanna, I liked it but still wanted to see that Prada. They said they didn't know when it would be in. They did say I could have more of a selection at their boutique store in, wait for it, Jacksonville Florida.... Where am I right now??? Savannah GA... So my husband, the most awesome man, offered to take me to Jacksonville. Now I'm not criticizing the staff, my problem is the stock on hand. The store is clean. Dr Arneson is good. I had a very pleasant experience on a busy, summertime Saturday mid-day appointment for a contact exam. Dr. Richard Arneson and his assistant Ben were wonderfully warm. With their personal touches, it felt like I was back in my hometown, not at a new-patient appointment at the shopping mall! The LensCrafters personnel were very friendly, as well. I tried on a billion frames and appreciated their honest feedback. Ultimately, I was able to get an incredible deal on my contacts (with their help!) but I felt that the frames and glasses were WAY overpriced even with my insurance and their sales. I guess I will be ordering those from Zenni for a quarter of the price! read more

Exceptional customer service is truly waning and hard to come by these days, buy thank goodness that Francis H. is still practicing this fine art. I had to exchange a pair of sunglasses that were not as they should be. Francis H. really took care of me from the moment that I walked in until the moment that I walked out. No hint of putting on a show, just a genuine and engaging personality who not only enjoys what they do, but also gives her all in taking care of her customers. I moved to Savannah not too long ago and had to find a new eyeglass place. I was recommended this location by all of my friends and decided to give them a shot. I was helped within the first minute of stepping into the store. I was directed to the receptionist so I could schedule an eye exam. The exam was $89 which is a lot cheaper than what I'm used to. Dr. Arneson was professional and helpful. I didn't feel as if the exam was rushed or anything. After the exam, I walked back out to the showroom and was told my plastic frames were too weak to replace the lenses. I was disheartened because I really didn't want to purchase a whole new pair, new pairs would usually cost me $300. I was told that they offer a package deal which included a new frame and the lenses for only $99. I ended up with a very nice pair of glasses at a cheap price. The glasses were ready to pick up less than 2 hours after the eye exam which is crazy. I usually waited a week at the place I used to go to. read more

Unbelievably disappointing experience! I ordered a pair of prescription glasses on Feb 17, 2018. When I picked them up, I was wearing my contact lenses but tried them on to make sure the frames fit well. I never thought I needed to take my contacts out to ensure the lenses were okay because I have never had an issue with lenses and I have been wearing contacts/glasses for 16 years. I took the glasses home once the frames fit well and figured everything was good to go. When I got home and put the glasses on (with my contacts out) however, I instantly knew something was not right with the lenses. I was getting a "fish bowl" type image and feeling dizzy and nauseous from it. It was severe enough that I could not wear them. When I walked into Store 253 on Monday, Feb 26 a very kind employee helped me at first. She discovered that her and I have a very similar power for our prescription so she tried my glasses on and agreed that something was not right with them. She described it as getting "double vision". Then, the manager decided to step in and take over. She was instantly rude, abrasive and condescending. She stated that the frames are high index and I need to "get used to them". I explained that I always pay for high index lenses and have never experienced this problem before. She eventually modified the frames to take out some of the curve that had previously been put in them to make them fit tighter. This did help some but did not resolve the issue completely. She insisted that I needed to wear the glasses for 2-3 days until my eyes adjusted. Reluctantly, I wore the glasses out of the store and decided I would try to wear the glasses for the next few days to see if my eyes adapted (even though I have never had to do this before). I ran another errand after leaving the store and during this time I experienced green lines in the corner of the lenses. I knew I had paid for the anti-glare lenses, like I always do, so I figured it must not have been added onto the lenses. I decided to instantly return to the store. When I did, the manager explained that the green lines were because of the anti-glare and that "it happens sometimes". I told her that cannot be right because I have had anti-glare, high index prescription glasses for all of my adult life and I have never experienced such a thing. She finally had Ariel, the lab technician, meet me. She was equally unhelpful and tried blaming the problems I was having with my lenses on 1. my pregnancy, 2. having too high of a prescription, 3. that I had not worn them for long enough, 4. that they were high index, and an exhaustive list of reasons why it was somehow my fault that I was having problems with the glasses. Not once did she offer to inspect the lenses which would be the appropriate thing to do considering she is the lab technician. Since it was very apparent that I was not going to receive any valuable help I eventually decided to ask for my money back. I waited 48 hours to receive my refund and I now have to wait for my insurance benefits to approve a different pair of glasses. Needless to say, I will not be going to LensCrafters for them. read more

The floor sales people are kind. I had to go back for a new lens because the very nice employee entered my rx wrong. I kindly came back and said no worries let's just fix it. The male tech fixed it really quickly. However... When I took them up on my 30 day return policy they remade the lens wrong again... Ok... I asked can we fix it again like last time? Without getting into details the female tech was rude rude rude!!! To me and to her fellow sales staff. Very unprofessional attitude. Worst experience in my life with getting eyeglasses and still don't have them! They choose not to run insurance to cover my glasses or contacts but they told me they did at time of appointment and advised of my price due and can pay it when I can since insurance covers it, now they tell me to pay full price cause no insurance now which lapsed a month and a half after my appointment and Im still outta luck with no glasses or contacts at all! Worst Lens Crafters Ever. They are so rude and so very unhelpful. I've lived in several states and always count on Lens Crafters for my eye care my entire life. After several disappointing experiences at this location (with different employees each time) I have to find somewhere else to spend my money. I usually give people the benefit of the doubt- maybe they're having a bad day, boss, personal life, but after so many awful visits this location it is inexcusable. If you go to this store to purchase glasses, please get your eye Exam prior to coming. The lady that works the desk for the eye doctor is very rude, she acts like she's doing you a favor to give you an appointment at all. I thought I might have just caught her on a bad day but this happened to me two times in a row. She really needs to find an occupation where she does not have to deal with the public! Bait and Switch --- The store supervisor told me that in a package deal my pair of sunglasses would be 40%. So, I picked out a pair of sunglasses, worked with that supervisor to put together the order and was looking forward to going boating with my new sunglasses. Then, when I was presented the bill - - look, no discount. It was then that I was informed that the glasses I had selected did not qualify for a discount. So, if I wanted them I would have to pay full price. So, if you go here . . ; watch your wallet, because they're out to get all your money. Follow-up - - the store manager called, apologized profusely and explained what had happened. We subsequently visited the store and she gave me the full discount on a pair of sunglasses.
