The doctors and staff at the Pooler location are always wonderful, and we've been driving from Statesboro for nearly 10 years because of their superior care. We ran into some hiccups with new contact lenses this year, and Ms. Sharell went way beyond and above helpful to make sure that our teenager could have the right lenses as quickly as possible. I had an appointment with this eye care practice today. I was advised to arrive 30 minutes early to complete the new patient documents. We arrived and were informed to have a seat and after 15 minutes of listening to the front staff discussing their personal life we chose to leave. We waited patiently for them to give us the new patient documents to complete and that never happened. This was very unprofessional and after reading the other reviews I can relate to the poor customer care services that others experienced in the past. read more

The opticians agreed to clean my current frames (which I had purchased elsewhere) while I ordered a new pair from them. They warped my frames, to the point where the lens no longer fit, and then offered me 10% off of a new pair of frames to replace the ones that they damaged. After explaining I was unhappy with that resolution, the manager called me and offered me 30% off new frames. I eventually got them to order the same frames for me, at no charge, but it was a back and forth process to get this to happen--like working with a car salesman. The lens that they were trying to jam back into the warped frame is now scratched, but I didn't even attempt to resolve that after my experience dealing with their manager. The eye exam I received was fine, but I'd suggest taking your Rx elsewhere. read more

Low Country Eye is not what it used to be, it seems every time I get an exam the people in the office look extremely miserable. And the service is mediocre. They have gotten so expensive as well adding unnecessary charges! And just going through them is a hassle in general. Don't waste your time here, they will only charge you for things you don't need and overcharge for your contacts/ glasses/ or service. The office manager is not pleasant at all. I would not recommend- my prescription is not right even though I told the doctor I was not able to see clearly. They would not listen, I feel their equipment is not calibrated correctly. I have been a patient there for about 2 years now. The place is always clean, and I love that the owner must be a Christian, because I remember seeing biblical books in the waiting room to read! The ladies at the front desk are always welcoming. I had the pleasure of working with Shawn and she was very professional and friendly, and had a great sense of humor. The Doctor was very honest with me when I asked about getting prescribed glasses to wear with contacts. I went to Dr. Remigio for a cosmetic procedure, blepharoplasty. Dr. Remigio said he does them all the time, routine procedure, no problem. I was at the surgery center in Bluffton. The nurses getting me ready mentioned that he tends to talk a bit much during the procedure with the particular anesthesiologist he was paired with that day, so don't be surprised if I get an extra bill. I asked them to try to keep him on track. I just dropped 5k and did not have anything else to spend. I am a nurse myself and I work hard for my money. My husband mentioned that he waited longer than he expected, but I did not think anything of it until I got an additional bill from the surgery center for $550. At my recheck the next day, he had said everything went fine, no complications. Turns out, he estimated one hour, but actually took 1 hour and 46 minutes and I get to pay the difference. He does these all the time, no complications, why am I paying for his chat time with the anesthesiologist? There is also a piece of monofilament fishing line sticking out of my underneath of my eye. I keep calling asking if this is normal and for an explanation of the overage. No call back so far. Not so good. Started strong, but really poor follow through. Would not recomend. read more

Will not be back. Worst customer service ever. Had to send first pair of frames back because they arrived in horrible condition, frames had nasty residue on them and scratches. So then I wait another 3 weeks, received the new frames today and they literally gave me glasses in a plastic bag with no case no nothing, just a pair of glasses in a plastic bag flung on the table outside their office. They have a person coming outside to check people in (due to covid situation) who actually speaks to customers, but I am unable to ask a simple question pertaining to my order pickup and am forced to call the office to speak with someone while I am standing 6 ft away from the front door. Ridiculous. If your employees are that paranoid to deal with customers who are practicing proper covid procedures (masked and standing far away) then maybe they shouldn't be working there. This is the second time I've dealt with that person and both times they just throw the merchandise on the wooden table outside and shut the door in the customers face and then use hand gestures through a tinted glass window to basically say "call the office" if there is an issue while I'm standing there speaking. Just rude and unprofessional, glass are overpriced, merchandise arrives in less than satisfactory condition, and everything is "just a mistake" so don't expect anything to be done professionally the first time...or second time.... read more

I am new to Pooler and a friend recommended this place. I needed new contacts and to get my annual eye check up anyway. The staff was very friendly and thorough. The tech that did the initial tests on my eye walked me through everything she was going to do and was very nice. We even joked around a bit. I've never had such an enjoyable experience getting my eyes checked... and I've worn contacts since 7th grade... so I've seen a few eye doctors. Dr. Barker was also very nice and thorough. Worse experience I have ever had at the eye doctor. Don't go to the Hinesville office unless you want to loose money. Twice they had to order my lenses and twice they were wrong. Finally asked for my money back and had to keep asking for it before she said ok. Still waiting on my insurance refund. They charged me $170.58 for eye exam but they only sent it in as $155.00 to BCBS. BCBS paid them the usual charges which was $118.66. Doesn't show I paid anything on EOB. They owe me $170.58. My exam was on May 15, 2018 and still waiting on refund. read more

I went here for the first time a few months ago for a check up as I just moved here and needed my eyes checked and new contacts. I even brought with me all of the specifics from my previous exam. The girl that came in first was very pleasant and did the eye exam, although rather quickly. Then the doctor came in. Very arrogant, not at all pleasant and seemed to have a chip on her shoulder. I went in to pick up my new contacts and they told me to go home and try them and let them know. ( this was new to me as my doctor always had me put them on in his office so he could check them out). So, I went home and immediately found out that I could not see as well as my old contacts. I tried them for a few days to make sure they wouldn't clear up and called the office for another appointment. The doctor did two or three changes and said they would let me know when they came in. After waiting three weeks, I called them and they could not find the order. They said they would put a rush on them. When they came in, they were worse than the first ones. I went pack again and the doctor said I had allergies and that what was blurring my vision. I used the drops for a month, but vision did not improve. So, alter spending close to $700.00 for new contacts, I am back wearing my old ones with no problems and the new ones are in a drawer. I would not recommend these people. read more

Dr. Todd Schnobrich = best optometrist EVER! Our family has been seeing him for years, and he has a unique talent of maintaining professionalism while still making us feel like we're old friends. Years ago, he diagnosed a condition with our son's vision that other tests didn't find, and his method was simple. In short, Dr. Todd knows what he's doing. We've seen Dr. Beckett, and she's equally as qualified and friendly as Dr. Schnobrich. We live in RHill, so we usually go there, but this time we visited the Pooler location. State of the art equipment and a clean facility. Plus, they have Saturday hours. Pita performed our initial evaluations, and she was extremely helpful and answered all of our questions. Everyone took their time with us, which is great because I HATE feeling like we're being rushed out the door. The frame and lens selection process was a little vague. I was offered many different frames to try on, but unlike the RHill office, I wasn't asked very many questions about preferences. The process seemed very "standard," and I hope that when my glasses arrive, they will be acceptable. I think I got a fairly good price for what I ordered, but admittedly, I feel some uncertainty. They did agree to send the glasses to the RHill office for pickup and fitting, since that is more convenient for us. read more

My husband and I have both been to Low Country Eye Care and had completely different experiences. I received a standard check up and got contacts for the first time, I had a followup and ordered contact lenses. No problems for me, I dealt just with the optometrist and assistants as well as front desk... My husband got his eyes checked and ordered new lenses for his glasses and a new pair of lenses for his prescription sunglasses. His glasses lenses were scratched when he received them TWICE! They said "it must be our cutting machine scratching them" and took a LOT of convincing to do anything about it after scratching both sets of new lenses. They've also lost his prescription sunglasses somewhere between the company they mail them to and Low Country Eye Care. It's been a few months and no one has ever given us an exact answer to where they are they just keep pointing fingers at each other. We keep receiving UPS tracking numbers that don't help... Someone ended up writing a check to him for the lost pair but we refuse to go here again because their customer service was terrible on the eye glasses side of the building. read more

Damaged my eye glasses over the 4th of July weekend and needed new lenses. Went right in where the friendly staff went right to work to get me my new lenses over the phone. Excellent customer service and a pleasant experience. I will be sure to return for future purchases! Unlike lenscrafters who were just plain slow ,rude, and unperfesional. Yet they never informed me of this policy change until AFTER my most recent appointment, and I had to pay cash out of pocket. read more

I went for my first appointment at Low Country Eye Care this week, and I have never been so disappointed with an eye care facility. I am a former Optician, so I was fully aware of what to expect when I arrived. I have no complaints about the doctor, however, the Optician I dealt with was horrible. Lie after lie after lie. I tried on several pairs of glasses and then asked her the price with my insurance (I already knew what my copays were- I just needed to know the total). She never once explained to me what I was getting with my glasses. She just told me my price was $258. I know from being an Optician that you must ask the patient questions such as what type of lens material they want, what type of anti reflective coating, ask if they want transitions...etc. There are lots of options, but she asked me no questions. I then asked her what did the price include. She stuttered and said that it included Crizal anti glare. I asked what my copays were to see if she would tell me the truth. She quoted me $51 copay for my lenses and $78 for the anti glare. My insurance copays are $23 for polycarb lenses. I have a $37 copay for standard anti glare and up to $75 for the most expensive option. She lied to be about my copays, and when I confronted her about it, she kept denying that she was wrong. I finally walked out without buying any glasses at all because I refuse to be ripped off. What really made me mad was the fact that most people do not understand how this process works (opticians work on commission). I do understand because I've been in her shoes. But people who do not know they have options and are not familiar with their copays are getting ripped off. I immediately called my insurance provider and confirmed my insurance copays. They called the office and the optician at the desk said they could not provide them with information they quoted me. Of course not. BEWARE of this place!!!! They will try to take advantage of you. Fortunately, she couldn't pull a fast one on me because little did she know, I used to do her job. read more
