I just purchased a pair of Meta AI glasses that were over $1800. I've been waiting over two weeks. They were supposed to be done today. No one called me or text me or even considered to let me know that my glasses were not going to be ready something broke the lenses in the lab and they were not gonna be ready for week or two. I spent all day at home on a Sunday while my husband went to the mountains so I could go to my eye appointment. When I arrived their front desk person told me there was a problem with vision insurance and I would have to call on Monday to get it sorted out. The insurance was under my husbands name and not mine...ok so??? I had an ID card in my wallet. They also said that they are not "in network" for VSP!! Why wasn't this done before I came in for my appointment? Total waste of my entire day!!! I will be finding another provider. read more

Dr. Douglas Swindell is a horrible man, doesn't listen to his patients, won't let me explain what's wrong with my prescription, because "I get to write prescriptions, not you" his exact words. when I mention that the measurements might be invalid or a little off, and I would like to double check on that he just lost his temper, he threw the paperwork across the room and literally screamed "I'm done dealing with you guys" and just left the room. He's very rude, disrespectful and unprofessional just like his staff in the front Dr. Douglas Swindell needs some anger management and some mental counseling. I was ashamed in front of my own son how we got treated at his office today. Also, just throwing it out there. Their prices for contact lenses are outrageous. Don't ever buy from them. You can get them for half the price at 1 800 contacts. read more

We've been going here for over 20 years. Dr. Swindell has always been a little quirky, but quirky is great. He's incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. I'm not sure what's going on in his life but it's definitely affecting how he treats people recently. My middle son wanted contacts and Dr. Swindell was a little rude about it (he's 14), dismissive of my insight/opinion as his Mom and my son definitely didn't enjoy that appointment. My oldest went in for a routine eye exam this year and after said that the Dr. was just really aggressive and rude. Fast forward to my exam several months later and he went on a rant about someone complaining and leaving a bad review and how horrible people are these days. The vibe during my exam was aggressive and uncomfortable and I just wanted to leave. Comments about my age are just really getting old as well. I've dismissed them in the past but it's just not appropriate. We don't live near this location anymore but had been making the 40 minute drive because I'd been supporting this location for years. It's time for us to move on unfortunately. read more

Douglas, the optometrist at this location is a disrespectful, unprofessional human being. Told me to get the f*ck out of his store after I questioned how he was speaking to me. Told me to "come here" while snapping his finger and pointing to a room. Disgusting! When I said excuse me who do you think you're talking to he began throwing all kinds of f bombs. All because I requested to not have the eye photos taken.. I explained I didn't need this because I see an ophthalmologist who already treats the health of my eye. I only needed to be seen to renew my prescription. If you're reading this, Douglas, I want you to know I've filed an executive complaint with LensCrafters and will look to have your ability to operate in their stores stripped. You'll learn the hard way, and that's unfortunate because what we need during this time is decency, something you're still trying to learn. read more

I am very pleased with my experience at Thornton's Lens Crafters. Kari provided exceptional customer service! She took the time to help me find a pair of frames that was a good fit for me. There was a good selection to choose from. The hours are convenient, especially with someone who works during the day. Stopped by this location because I wanted to try on some lenses I saw at the flatirons location. The time I went to flatirons I didn't have my prescription yet. As soon as I came through the doors the girl said I had to have a prescription to try on the glasses there. This was very odd to me considering I had went to the flatirons one and they never told me this. I thought I had it in my purse so I tried looking for it and couldn't find it (I also had my 2 year old with me and was juggling child and purse to find the prescription). The girl could tell I was struggling and I told her I must have forgotten it. I explained I just needed to try one pair of glasses on to make sure I liked them. She finally let me. I give this place 2 stars because she was nice about it but it was so ridiculous this was a "policy" to let a potential customer try on frames at your store when the other location didn't have the same policy. Ended up ordering the frames else where. Will not return to this location again and will not recommend. read more

Purchased $900 prescription sunglasses for our marine son. They said they would ship overnight to him when they came in as we bought these while he was in base in Colorado. I had to call to see when/if they were ready and they had none of the details we had given to them to ship to us. They said they would ship them overnight to us, called to check two days later and they had shipped them regular ups vs next fed ex which she had said she was going to use. Son is in Afghanistan and has been waiting on these glasses for over three weeks! Major fail on this store and their customer service. Very very disappointed! read more

Be prepared to wait for your glasses a lot longer than expected or promised. Two sets of glasses ordered at the same time, same lenses, etc. One arrived after a few days, the other has still yet to arrive a week later. read more

I went in fully ready for this to be the last time I ever went to Lens Crafters after getting my glasses there for the last 4 years until I met their new general manager who had the store running efficiently and was incredibly helpful and nice. He seemed to love his job rather than just watch as the hours pass by like I've seen in past experiences. Sometimes I get great people, other times I get people that either are obviously learning how to order glasses, aren't familiar with the computer system, or are lab techs that have no business trying to help in customer service. The great people are very helpful, knowledgable, and get you in and out with no problems. The others do the opposite. This location is affiliated with Dr. Swindell (in the same office), who is wonderful. read more

My whole experience was great, from scheduling my appointment online sameday on a Sunday, quick paperwork and processing, smoothly completing all of the parts of the exam (Dr. Swindell was great and very informative), to getting great help choosing and fitting my prescription sunglasses with Janelle. Dr. Swindell is the only optometrist I will go to. Prior to going to him, I never felt my prescriptions were allowing me to see well with both my glasses and contacts. He worked with me until I can see exceptionally well with both! I highly recommend Dr. Swindell. read more

David was very helpful and accommodating when I came in to get my first pair of transition lens glasses. However, I had difficulty adapting to them and they replaced them with standard lenses at no charge. My experience was great from beginning to end and I love my new glasses. read more

The worse experience! Took my autistic son just to get his eyes checked for glasses. While the front staff was wonderful, Dr. Swindel made our experience terrible. We informed the doctor that our son has autism and his eyes will dialate different sizes randomly. The doctor said, "yeah, there's always something wrong with them." We told our son that we just needed to do a few more things and then we would be done. Doctor turned and yelled "Don't say that!" He yelled at my husband and I when we tried to calm our son before drops were in. He cursed at my husband saying, "I can't do this shit". My son had the drops in his eyes although we told the doctor about his issues with eye dialation and then had to return. The doctor did apologize but his behavior was inexcusable. 3 weeks after having his eyes dialated, my son's eyes were still dialated and we had to see another eye doctor. To be clear, I am a special education teacher and deal with autism everyday. For my son, I used techniques that are proven to be helpful. This doctor needs to learn more about handling disabilities and treating people with basic human decency. I attempted to contact LensCrafters but it is impossible to make a complaint. I have never been treated so poorly and never given a negative review in my life. However, this doctor's behavior was extremely egregious and hurtful in an already difficult situation. The only reason I did not call the optometrist associatoon is because I didn't want to take his livelihood. I hope that he does more to fix this situation and this never happens to anyone again. read more

Very disappointed with the billing portion of our recent transaction at the Thorton, CO location. We were quoted a price but two days later an additional charge of $100 was added due to the size of the prescription. As professionals they should have known this. When I asked about honoring the initial quote the representative stated "the system" does not allow for adjustments. When we first visited this location we were offered a $49 discount which was applied by the representative. So blaming the system for not being able to do the right thing was a bit fetched. read more

The optometrist was great, the staff at lens crafters after the exam were not so helpful and accommodating, I was placed with a nice young lady at first who was still in training and didn't know the computers very well. Dan, her manager I'm assuming, took over for her after I questioned the price on just getting only lenses put into frames that I already had. According to my insurance I am allotted new lenses once per year, dan pointed out to me that because I am requesting bifocals there is a $75 co-pay, no problem I get that. But when my final total for 1 pair of lenses comes to $193.00? I told Dan I would get new lenses someplace else, at which point he talked down to me and treated me like an ass. All in all terrible customer service from the LensCrafters crew, great service from the Optometrist. I was ready to purchase sunglasses too, I will stay away from this place forever. read more

The staff and Doctor were all very friendly and knowledgeable. I felt comfortable asking questions and they were very considerate.

Top 2 tips for customers- 1. ALWAYS save your old glasses until you are completely sure that your new prescription is working perfectly for you. 2. Don't ever hesitate to return to the store if you are concerned that you may have been given the wrong prescription. (You should never feel embarrassed to return with a customer complaint for the health care provider) This particular store got me in for an eye exam very quickly on 9/2/15 and my customer service experience was very good initially. Unfortunately, during my eye exam the optometrist was interrupted by an employee with a question which broke her concentration and caused her to write down other numbers which were not for my prescription. When I picked up my new eyeglasses I had mentioned that something felt very blurry but one of the employees mentioned that "it is totally normal to feel that for a few days and then you'll adjust...". So I took that in good faith and went home. I became unable to walk normally and almost stepped on our dogs feet twice. I became very dizzy and nauseous. By the end of the first night and into the 2nd day I knew something was very wrong so I drove back up to the store on 9/3/15 and asked if they would please re-confirm my lenses. I also felt very unsafe to drive in to work on the first morning with my new eyeglasses. Upon my return the employee confirmed that I had been given the wrong numbers and they would make the correct lenses right away. My new glasses were ready less than 2 hours later and they seem to be working very well for me. Ultimately, I missed 2 extra hours of work and had to drive 2 extra trips to get the correct prescription. I think that the appropriate response for the Thornton LensCrafters and DOUGLAS SWINDELL & ASSOCIATES INDEPENDENT EYE DOCTOR would have been to issue me at least a 75% refund. I think that a quality organization would have issued a full refund. If I were to ask Dr. Swindell to miss 2 hours of work, unpaid, and have to make 2 unnecessary trips out of his way I wonder what his response would be? I think that 1 star is a fair review, all things considered. I would not recommend this LensCrafters. read more

If you happen to go in when the manager is not there, this place has the best of the best people who are truly customer focused (Rachel, Jenna, Todd and as an example). They are helpful, energized, and care about you and your experience. The manager , not so much. It is strange, but she is not helpful and very negative. Anytime she is involved, the experience is painstaking. I stopped going to the store at The Orchard, because she was there. When it closed, I was very bummed she got moved to the Thornton store. While the store is 5 miles from my home, if I go in and she is there, I will come back at a later time. She needs to have some customer service training and to work on her client facing approach. Very disappointed in this office. My daughter lost her prescription glasses, We looked everywhere and cannot find them. I called this office to see if they can extend her prescription by one day so she can get her glasses, it literally expired yesterday and they will not extend it by one measly day. I can see if it were weeks or months expired but it hasn't even been 24 hrs and they want me to spend more Money to get her eyes rechecked. This is ridiculous!!! So for not being understanding I'll take my business else where!!! read more
