Never again will I step foot in the LensCrafter's store again. A while back, my first pair of glasses were not only ill fitting and could not be fit without hurting me (after I was told they COULD bend them to fit BEFORE the prescription was filled). Well, their was not only a huge problem with the fit (squeezed my head), but the RX was totally off and I could not read. I took them back and their "Guarantee" cost me about $40 to exchange another pair and get the right RX, even though I picked out another frame at the same cost of the ill fitting one. During the exam they noticed something in my eye and wanted to charge extra for a base line photo. I went for it. Fast forward to recently....I went back and the Dr. treated me so rudely that I was beside myself. She kept telling me that I needed to come in regularly (I had gone elsewhere for glasses in the mean time). If she read my chart, she would have seen that my latest eye exam was not terribly long ago. I specifically went back to Lenscrafters because they had a baseline photo and I wanted to compare a new photo to the one on file. They lost it and it was no where to be found in my records. So much for paying for a baseline photo. So, I go onto get a pair of frames for my new RX. I received some good help. Picked out the glasses and came back a couple hours later. They bended and twisted the frames to fit me. Within a day or so, I could not read because the glasses must have bent back, which changed the progressive line so I could not read without pushing my glasses up a half of an inch and holding them there while I read. Not good. I brought them back and was told that basically it was my fault that I did not look square into the camera when they were measuring for my pupil position. Really? So, I assumed they would just measure again and replace the lenses. Come to find out, not one but two specialists did not realize the frames that were shown to me were not supposed to be used for progressives. During that trip, I waited and waited, was waited on and told to wait when other customers came in AFTER I was already there, waiting. I suppose they already got my money, so customer service was not important to make a sale. I will say that they had my new lenses set into the new frames in about an hour after I finally was important enough to be waited on. So, two sets of glasses wrong twice, years apart and the really rude doctor who examined me is enough for me to stand clear away from this place. I do not appreciate spending over $600 for a combined eye exam and new glasses to be treated like I do not matter. read more

I had a 2:30 appointment, I was 10 minutes early (allowing time for paperwork) upon walking in no one was there to greet me. I waited past 2:30 when someone (don't know who) hands me a clip board and tells me to start filling it out. I then responded that I had a 2:30 appointment and it was now 2:40, I also expressed that I felt that it was a very unprofessional first impression that I encountered. I decided to check out LensCrafters in the Crystal Mall in Waterford because they had a decent selection of designer frames and I was able to get a discount on the frames and lenses through my insurance. It was the worst experience buying glasses I have ever had...and I have been wearing glasses since I was three! First, it took several minutes before I was even greeted by a salesperson, or was offered help. Once I was helped, the salesperson WAS helpful in selecting a beautiful frame for my face, but after that the whole experience went down quickly. My frames were promised by 3:00 the next afternoon. I called the next afternoon to make sure they were ready before I headed down to the store. First, I was placed on hold for nearly five minutes while the salesperson tried to find the frames (I guess they were having trouble finding them). I was told they would be ready by 3:30. When I arrived at 4:00, I was told that they weren't ready yet. I came back a half hour later and they were ready! So I put them on and immediately knew that something was completely wrong with the lenses. As it turns out, they had flip flopped my lenses (the right lens was in the left side of the frame, and the left lens was in the right side of the frame), and when your eyesight is as discrepant in my eyes you will notice this difference right away! They did agree to fix the lenses that same day and told me to come back in an hour. I did, and guess what...the glasses weren't ready yet! I came back a half hour or so after that and they were ready! The salesperson had me sit at one of the desks until the person making the lenses brought out my glasses. I waited another 15 minutes before the glasses were brought out. I ended up leaving the store around 7:30 that night. I put on the frames, and while the lenses were fine, the fit was way off: the frames were sliding down my nose and the temple was all stretched out. They were adjusted, and I was on my way! Well, a few days later, they were all stretched out again. I just returned the other day to have them adjusted, but they are still crooked and are now pinching behind my ears. I have decided that I am just going to return these glasses even though I really do like the frames...I am just disgusted with the whole experience I had over the past week and have no desire to go back again, unless it is to return the frames! Let's hope the "90 day Unconditional Guarantee" lives up to what it promises. My recommendation is to avoid this store at all costs and go to a nice local shop with good customer service. I should have done that in the first place...I've had wonderful experiences with Cobb's optical in Stonington and should have remained loyal to them in the first place!! read more

So, we've been here TWO hours and my daughters exam still isn't over? Like wth.... get it together!

I recommend NOT coming to this LensCrafters!! My daughter was there last week and had an Absolutely Horrible experience! First the Dr was rude, Poor bedside manner. Second, and Most Important they dilated her eyes and did NOT provide her with anything to protect her eyes!!! She even asked before leaving and they told her, "You'll be fine!!" She walked outside and was Immediately Blinded by the bright sunlight!! She was able to make it to her car where she sat Scared, Alone and Unable to see anything trying to figure out how she was going to get home!! She called myself & my husband for help but we were working so sadly we missed her call. She remained in her car for 45 minutes Eyes burning and tearing. She ended up driving home after almost an hour of sitting in the car with ONLY PARTIAL VISION!! Thank God she lives close by and that Nothing happened to her!!! I am Totally & Completely Disgusted with the treatment, (or lack there of!) that she received!!! Unbelievable!! read more

The eye exam doctor was great, but the glasses guys are a mess. I was told they would take a week, it was two weeks and then they had deeply engraved numbers in the center of the lenses. I was told "most people get use to them" I've had progressive lenses before and they never had deep numbers engraved in the middle! Manager Adam was bumbling excuses but did eventually refund all my money. read more

Service was friendly enough, but friendly doesn't trump incompetent. Three pairs (badly made lens, bad follow-through, broken frames, people who don't really know what they're doing) from here and I've learned my lesson. Never again. In fact, never again Lenscrafters. read more
