Wonderful experience at LensCrafters last night and can't wait to get my glasses! Everyone in the store was extremely helpful, giving me tips on which glasses looked the best for my face frame and color. I've been wearing glasses for years and Never realized some of the points that were brought up. I really appreciated that. Once I picked out my pair (which I can't wait to get!!), I sat with Steven who was just absolutely exceptional at what he does. He went through every option with my insurance to make sure that I was not only getting the best deal, but the right type of progressive lens for what I need. I had always gotten workspace progressives but now know that I'm not stuck with those specific types after Steven explained the other lenses available. I'm so grateful to have worked with him. The techs did not know how to operate the equipment. The doctor misdiagnosed me for two years. I finally went to a different doctor and they discovered that I had glaucoma in both eyes, which could have been caught had the recommended me to the right eye doctor. I have new vision coverage this year that mandates the use of LensCrafters. These guys don't just s c r e w you, they clearly enjoy passing you around to the other inmates as well. Forgetting frames which are not comparable since LC only carries high-end designer brands, their cost for the exact same prescription (with "insurance") is 125% more than what I was quoted at Costco for the same script at full retail. Factor in their smug indifference on the service side and LensCrafters is not even worth the single star that I am forced to give them. Chalk another one up to the Luxottica eyewear monopoly (who not coincidentally owns LensCrafters but my new vision insurer EyeMed as well.) Sweet. read more

Went to Lens crafters today with the intention of having my glasses quickly adjusted (one screw was loose and just needed to be tightened). There were five (5) employees swarming around the store helping customers, and I was prepared to wait for a bit to be helped. I sat on the bench in front of the front desk for 10 minutes and wasn't even acknowledged. A simple "sorry we're really busy right now but we'll help you out super soon" would suffice. this location of LensCrafters should be avoided at all costs. They do not stand behind their product, and their customer service is terrible after purchasing a pair of glasses there, and returning three times for adjustments because I could not see correctly out of them on the third try they told me it was not their problem and that I probably needed to have my eyes examined again and that I should call my doctor, this was after having seen the eye doctor at their particular location. I purchased my glasses in August 2021. Paid $600 for lenses and frames. I'm on social security and do not have eye coverage. Bought Ralph Lauren frame because I thought name brand would be better quality and last longer. In late September 2022 one of the arms fell off my frame. Went back to LensCrafters Cannot be repaired and warranty is no longer valid. They offered to sell me another frame for $125. I don't have $125 extra. I think they should repair or replace any defective frames I have been wearing glasses since I was 3 years old so I know how to take care of frames! Do not go to LensCrafters!! Go to Pearl Vision or a private business. I always delay getting new eyeglasses because there are so many choices, and I am not really a good judge of what looks good on me. I walked in today with my new prescription and was immediately met by Betsy (assistant manager) who was enthusiastic, friendly, and had a great sense of what would work for me. Due to a new insurance policy, I had to switch to Lenscrafters. My nearest store was the one at Marketfair where they wrongly diagnosed me with astigmatism and prescribed me accordingly. Fortunately, I went to get a second opinion at a different company (and a third) and got the right diagnosis. Secondly, their ordering system is a mess. I called to order my contacts, and after 14 - yes, 14 calls, not including the ones where I was put on hold immediately after speaking with an associate. And got the delivery after 3.5 weeks instead of the promised 1-2. Despite the lack of coverage, I moved my business to Costco and haven't had any issues with my last order. read more

Poor service from the workers at the optometrist office but great experience with the actual optometrist. I went for a walk in appointment and didn't have to wait excessively long but the nurse who administered the electronic eye tests was very unclear with her instructions. When I asked for clarification, she was impatient and snarky and complained about me not opening my eyes enough. I felt like she was just trying to get through me at quickly as possible while neglecting to provide me with clear information of what I'm supposed to do for the tests and I'm still not sure if the results from the tests are accurate to my eyesight. The optometrist I saw was very knowledgeable and helpful in determining my prescription and answered all of my questions about that and my glasses use. I also bought a pair of glasses after my exam which went smoothly since I knew which frame I wanted. There was a brief wait but the store manager checked in on me often, and the store associate was nice and helpful. I will not return to this lenscrafters location for an eye exam because I was treated so dismissively even though I trusted the actual optometrist. I might return to buy glasses depending on the frames available. read more

The employees at Lenscrafters, Rte 1 South in Marketfair were insulting and belittled me even when I raised the issue that the glasses that they had made for me were not right and I was not able to see correctly through them. When I requested that they correct them or refund me my money (~$600) they kept insisting that there was nothing wrong and this was all in my imagination. "You need to get used to them" and "there is nothing wrong with the glasses", "they were made according to the prescription" etc. they even threatened that if I return them my name will go on their system and I will never be able to use any other lens crafters in the USA! Can you believe that? The audacity!! Please note that the manufacturing of your glasses requires two things: 1) the prescription from the Optometrist and 2) the measurements (size and configuration) the Optician takes - this is in LensCrafters itself. This is the person who sits you at the desk in front of a computer and does the measurements and then sells you the glasses and takes your payment. So both of these steps have to happen correctly to get the right glasses for you. When I went back to the Optometrist and he checked my glasses, prescription, and even my older glasses he said that the new glasses were in fact incorrectly manufactured. The measurements taken by the lenscrafter employee (Optician) were incorrect which was causing the impairment to my vision. Terrrible, terrible experience. They charge you ridiculous amounts of money and treat you badly. They are nothing but arrogant and obnoxious. Very poor customer service. All they care is about selling their glasses whether they are right or not. No caring for the patient whatsoever. Very very disappointing experience. read more

I feel a little iffy doing this review based on the bad review I just read. Let me be clear that my review is for the Optometrist office and not the LensCrafters store. I saw Jim Ciccarello, O.D. and he was very good and explained everything clearly. I was very happy with the level of service I received from the staff. They were all courteous and friendly. I might actually fill my prescription and start wearing glasses like I'm supposed to. As for the LensCrafters they have a great selection of Chanel, which is what I'm planning to get. However I swear the sales lady looked at me and assumed I wouldn't be purchasing and walked away to help other customers. When she finally did come over she was instantly very pushy and acted like me trying on glasses and her having to open the case was a great disservice. I might go back and try the person Syed who was recommended. I just can't stand it when sales people act like you're bothering them by shopping in their store. This review is not really for the store itself. I took my daughter for an eye exam to get contact lens. She was prescribed daily wear lens as a first time wearer. Ok, so the first day the store didn't have the lens in stock so they ordered it , called me the next day -lens's are ready for pickup so I pick them up. A week later at the follow up appointment my daughter told the doctor that the lens's didn't fit properly and was uncomfortable so he ordered a different lens. Ok , lens not in stock we have to order. This was on a Monday. I called the store on Friday and asked if the lens's came in and was told yes, they came in yesterday (Thursday ) . I went to pick up the contacts on Saturday and was told only the left eye came in. The girl was apologetic and nice but I am still extremely annoyed . A week to get trial contacts ? I have been extremely inconvenienced . This will be my 4 th trip back to this store if the contacts ever come in. Not to mention my daughter needs them for an event this weekend. read more

Some staff is wonderful in their customer service skills and others like Shana just needs to stock glasses only. She doesn't acknowledge customers presence and when she assists, she just looks like she hates her job. Another customer shared her experience with me while picking out frames that she's not very friendly. I stood waiting for her and she wouldn't even look up. A young man very professional asked me if I needed help and I said "I thought Shana would acknowledge my presence as it's going on 2 minutes of standing right in her face but I guess not". Being a positive person who never likes to put bad things into writing, I felt I have to post an honest review. I have had glasses filled at this Lenscrafters on three occasions over the last 6 years. The last 2 times that I had glasses made, both times they were made wrong. This last week I ordered 2 pairs of glasses with just a mild change in my prescription. When I went to pick them it was easy for to tell that they were not made correctly. I told them that 1 pair did not even match the other pair. I let them know something was wrong and both the person helping me and the Manager (who apparently must come over if you decide to take your 90 guarantee and receive a refund) became loud, rude and arrogant. They informed me that they had made them to the prescription and that it was the doctors fault if they were wrong. They also said they don't make mistakes (as I know is not true because I had glasses 3 years ago made wrong, that they had to do over). Let's just say that listening to them belittle me in front of customers for over an hour, they finally gave me a refund. I even had other customers in the store starting to say things to them like "just give her back her money already" and other words of support. They also had hopes, I'm sure, of selling me these $800 worth of glasses later when I had a recheck at the eye doctor, so they put them aside for me. Oh wait, it's actually $1,200 if you include what my insurance paid for them. I had no intention of ever doing business with them but I wanted to be able to have the doctor not only check my eyes but check those glasses. Sure enough, both glasses were made incorrectly and did not match the prescription. Not only that, they were made different and did not even match either other. When the doctor marched over (Go Doc!) and told them that both glasses were made wrong, no one there apologized to me. They still had an air of arrogance to them. When I told them that I would not be having them remake the glasses because of how I was treated, they seemed annoyed, even trying again to blame the mistake on "misread" handwriting. I'm thinking perhaps a commission check was at stake? Anyway, I could never recommend this particular Lenscrafters. I've never been to any others but I'm unlikely to do so and will definitely take my prescription elsewhere. This must be my first 1 star review ever but I really can't think of any reason to give them more than that. read more

Just left LensCrafters for the last time...never going back...my husband has had a repeated problem with the rubber "sides" of his glasses not fitting right and falling off...at First they said they I would contact the manufacturer for us...we waited months! Now after repeated calls and being told they were ordered we are being told WE have to call them and complain because they don't want to harm theIr relationship with Oakley. This is the worst place to get your prescription eye glasses. My son had to go 3 times to get his CORRECT fitting eye glasses and even after that we ended up returning. The optometrist's office attached to the store is very good and competitively priced. I've been going to them for over a decade and the doctors all know what they're doing and their staff is friendly and professional. This visit, I believe I had Dr. Colangelo, but the previous time I was seen by another optometrist who was equally knowledgable and friendly. I wouldn't necessarily recommend the Lens Crafters, but I took the time to open a yelp account just to give a decent review, as a way to sort of even out the damage some terrible employees completely unassociated with the optometrist's office may have done to their business. I've used the Lens Crafters to fill my prescriptions before and while it isn't the best store I've ever been to, my experience with them has never been nightmarish. The staff asked me if I wanted help and then mostly backed off while I tried on various styles of glasses for over an hour. I've used them to fill my prescription three times and I've personally never had a problem. My mother, who went to this Lens Crafters for twenty years, also never had an issue as far as I know. If I still live in the area the next time I need to get my prescription updated, I'm sure I will use this doctors' office again. read more

i got an exam at the doctors office in the lens crafters and i cant say that im very happy with the service or the results of the exam. Ive had three exams in the past year and all of the exams i was given either -1.50 or -1.75 and the doctor here was very quiet and dint say a word to me and had given me a script of -1.00 which is far too weak to really make a difference in my vision. Also i got the optos scan which cost 45 and he didn't mention it not once. wow never again read more

At the recommendation of my eye doctor, who is not local to New Jersey, I tried to make an appointment with one of the doctors at the Lenscrafters at Market Fair who was a personal friend of his. However, Stephanie, the receptionist I encountered at the office desk, intercepted me and would not allow me to make the appointment. First, she looked at and treated me like I was a hobo that wandered in out of the gutter. She made the appointment, but was clearly dissatisfied. Shortly after I left, she called me to tell me that she wouldn't keep the appointment because they don't take referrals, (not ever, not even doctor to doctor), and I would have to pay for a full eye exam in order to see a doctor - which I didn't need. I just wanted a lousy 5 minute consultation, but Stephanie would have none of it. I suppose I was too low-class for their fancy store. I did get a call the following day asking why I didn't keep my appointment that Stephanie said I couldn't have, and would I like to reschedule, but instead, I went to my local Wal-Mart Optical Department, where a very nice, cheerful lady helped me out with my problems. No muss, no fuss, no fees or complaints. My advice: Stay away from this place. They don't want your business and treat you like dirt. read more

I took my prescription to lense crafters in market fair and it was the worst experience I have ever had buying glasses. They screwed up my glasses 4 times before I finally returned them. They took wrong oc measurements and blamed it on my doctors prescription. I went back to the doctor and they told me that it was bs because oc measurements are only taken by the optician when buying glasses. This is when they measure to figure out the distance where your eyes are in the frame. Dr doesn't sell the frames so he can't take the measurement. They put in the wrong curvature in causing me to see reflections. They again blamed it on my doctor. I went back to the dr and he said that the curvature depends on the glasses type and the prescription which are figured out by the optician. Then I started seeing blurry with the next pair which was the wrong oc again and AGAIN they blame it on the prescription. I was fed up and took them back for a refund. The next day I went to moscot in nyc. They got it right the first time. read more

I ordered a new pair of glasses with special lenses over 1-month ago. I was told would have them in 14 days. I call and keep going back to the store and getting the run around - or being told the lab made mistake and I have priority for having lenses made. The glasses and lenses cost figures minus discount. I never had this experience anywhere before, including this store. But now that it appears certain lenses are outsourced its a bit of disappointment. I walked in and they told me the machine was having problems, but as i wanted my glasses without antiglare costing that I could get them within 2 hours. Since I wanted them today and I am not fan of the anti glare, I picked out glasses and then got measured. Then the next person that helped me indicated that I would not get my glasses today. The next person said it will take 3 days. So much for their motto. I am not at all happy with the service I got and was treated like no one cared if I ever come back. So. The in-store optometrist side of Lens Crafters (Princeton) offered a wonderfully professional experience--shout out to Jessica the tech for her delightful personality and forethought to explain to the many machines used to assess eye health and vision. Dr. C, Peter, brings a patient-side manner that endears and instills trust. Lens Crafters the frame shop? AVOID. The aggressive commission-based sales person, Lynne, runs through options for your specs that she makes sound as if included. They are not. It happens so quickly from her that you're still debating option 1 while nodding your head to option 4, and then you really need to ask for a recap and itemized sales receipt, which is not forthcoming UNLESS you ask for it. Twice I was offered,"Oh we can screen shot this for you" (the breakdown of costs). They don't. Lynn messed up my invoice two times, which in turn lost the frames' measurements two times, which extended my stay at Lens Crafters to over two hours. I burned an hour looking at and selecting my frames. Lynne required more than an hour to sell me the frames. The process at most is 20 minutes. When in store, I was told if I buy a second set of glasses--in my case sun glasses--I would then be eligible for a 40% discount across the board. This, from Patrick the manager, was absolute misinformation. I did not need to buy a second set of frames. The 40% discount is for any pair of glasses, as I found out after the purchase. Enough said right there. The whole Lends Crafters side of the business was a sad experience, a cautionary tale for you who prefer to keep your hard-earned money. Lynne is anything but consumer-facing, and exceptionally unprofessional. My last visit there was with Camille. She is warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and informed on her products, and cares about her customers. Lynne was unpleasant, asked personal questions with an apparent judgment attached, had no idea on the services she offered to the lenses (or purposefully chose not to share that knowledge so I would buy unaware of the attached increase in cost). The experience left me feeling ripped off, used, and a victim of a highly skilled retail sales predator. Get your scrip there, and go get your frames from someone who actually cares. read more

This branch repaired my broken glasses even though they were technically closed that day(moving from one location in the mall to another and were not permitted to allow customers in the store that day) I really appreciated that. I was very impressed by the level of service we received at this LensCrafters. My 89 year old father-in-law was visiting from out-of-state and needed to have a pair of prescription sunglasses made. Although the store was busy, we were greeted immediately and directed to an available exam table so my FIL could sit down to wait for the next available associate. Within a minute or two, "Leah" came over, and she was absolutely terrific. She was personable, knowledgeable, patient, and efficient, from determining what his prescription was, presenting him with a variety of frames to choose from, expertly fitting them, to ultimately texting us just two hours later to let us know the glasses were ready to be picked up. It couldn't have gone easier or more smoothly. I wouldn't hesitate to go back for any future eyewear needs. read more
