Do not visit this establishment!! Managers are knowingly racist and employees employees know it. My husband and I stopped into this location because he needed new glasses. Although I was not in the market for new glasses at the time, I was also trying on a few pairs just in case I found something that I really liked. The place was really busy and a female manager asked if we needed assistance to which we told her that we were just browsing at the moment. Every single time we picked a pair off of the wall, the same manager would come over and asked if we happened to see a particular pair of glasses which happened to be on myself or my husbands face every single time. About the fourth time, it became obvious to me what was going on. While we were there she never attended to any other customers. She just followed us around. When he sat down with one of the associates to assist with a fitting we brought up the fact that it seemed as if the manager was profiling up and assuming that we would steal. The associate mentioned to us that because they had been robbed in the past that the manager does the same thing to all black customers. We left at the moment. When I walked in, there was a lady who asked me if I needed help with anything. As I was looking, she offered even more information (ie, we can take pictures of you in the frames, etc) and I thought she was really nice. When I was finally ready to make the purchase, I sat down with her. From that moment until the end of my visit, she was extremely stuck up and rude. She gave me one word responses, did not try to small talk, did not look up at me, and did not smile. I said some things that I thought were funny to try to break the ice and got no reaction. Also, she kept pushing me to get extras and I said no about 3 or 4 times. No means no, lady! I thought it was weird... she was nice and friendly until I wanted to do business with her? I didn't catch her name (nor did she catch mine (there would be better customer service if she remembered my name from my insurance/transaction and if she told me her name) but she has long brown wavy hair. This was the first time I've been to this location, and the first time I've used my vision insurance. I felt the front office/retail staff was very helpful in explaining what my benefits would cover, and how to best use them. I've been wearing contacts and glasses for over 20 years, so I know there are tests that aren't necessary, and aren't covered under insurance. I felt that the doctor made my visit awkward... He must have mentioned four times how he could "be sued" if I didn't get this test or that test, or of I continued to wear this or that type of contact. It was really uncomfortable, mostly because I didn't get the sense that he was at all concerned about my eye health, but paranoid that I might be litigious. He also repeatedly mentioned how he could be sued in lieu of an actual explanation to why the tests were needed. My review is 4 stars for the front office experience and 2 for the awkward exam. read more

Scratched my only pair of glasses while on vacation last week. The place I typically go to doesn't have in house services and cannot guarantee my glasses back before I leave for business travel next week. In a panic, I called LensCrafters because they had the best reviews and could make glasses today! The reviews were right. Audra was so pleasant and very helpful. The location was easy to find, very bright and I'll have my glasses in a few minutes! My kind of service!! I have a new go to place for glasses and not just because they accept my insurance!! This place is the WORST!!! The "doctors" are just a bunch of guys in monkey suite. I had gone to them to try to get contacts and glasses. They couldn't get the prescription right to save their lives. They told me to just keep coming back until they got it right. I went back 4 times and they couldn't figure it out. I'm sorry but I am not a guinea pig. I went to an amazing eye doctor at sams club and he got me into an amazing pair of glasses/contacts no problem! He then proceeded to examine the glasses LensCrafters gave me. They were correcting a stigmatism in my left eye at 0.5 and In fact I have no stigmatism in that eye. And the right eye they were correcting at 0.75 and in fact it's only 0.2. I couldn't even park my car in the glasses they gave me! If you care about your eyes at all DO NOT GO TO LENSCRAFTERS!!! read more

I had a great experience here-much better than Lenscrafters used to be back in the day. Dr. DeYoung is very personable and explained everything thoroughly. Larry, the optician, is very helpful too. He is pretty patient as well, because I am not at all decisive when it comes to picking out glasses. I also tried out a new brand of contacts suggested to me by Dr. DeYoung and they are working out well. Great store-I'll be back! read more

One star instead of zero because when I demanded a refund for glasses I could not see clearly with, I was given a refund. Did you know that eyes need to work together, so if one eye can't see anything clearly at any distance through any part of one lense there's nothing wrong? Even if that eye CAN see distance clearly without glasses and with your old glasses? Not joking, that is what happened. If you bring a prescription from your doctor they will blame that prescription for their poor work. Then they want you to pay for an exam by their doctor to fix the problem. read more

Doctors, eyeglass specialists (fitters) all excellent, no issues with quality. But **very** expensive, unnecessarily so. Got new glasses, exactly the same frame as old ones, old frames in perfect condition, but was forced to $219 for new frames. They refused to use the old frames, though it was easy to do. Told me, "That's our policy." I'll go elsewhere next time. read more

Too long of a wait for an appointment to begin and to be carried out. There were lots of people milling around that looked like they worked there and one woman at the front desk frantically searching for someone's glasses and it took nearly 10 minutes to get my paperwork handed in then another 10 while I waited to go to an exam room. That part was quick and easy and I did like that the same person who did the pre-exam did it the last time I went. After, I waited at least 15 more minutes to be seen by the actual doctor. That exam, once it began, also went quickly enough. However, by that time, I had eaten up almost 2 hours of my, uh, one hour of lunch, and that was an issue for me. I ended up not having time to get any frames, and went to a discount place that takes outside prescriptions where I got two pairs of glasses without using my vision benefits for about as much as I paid for my current frames and half a lens. Granted, I have to wait a week for those to come in but since LC never seems to have my lenses in stock, I've had to wait each of the last three years for my glasses to come in, anyway. So I may be back. I am not sure at this point as I have never had this appointment take so long before, and obviously cost is an issue, as well. The store is clean and the associates are friendly enough and I do like the other shops in the little tucked away circle that this LC is located in. read more

The people who work here are super friendly. But, every time I come in the wait times are terrible. I've tried weekday mornings, weekends, evenings.... I always have to wait for 15+ minutes for most services. Even contacting them via the phone is the same, getting transferred around and being on hold for minutes. I understand that it's a busy chain, but it would be nice if the service were a little quicker. read more

While on an extended trip, I lost a lens out of my bifocals. Found out my prescription is out of date, so made an apt. at the Town Square Wheaton lenscrafters. I did wait a bit for my apt, but after I was seen by Dr. Kowalski, I understood. He took extra time with me, said he always gives people the time they need even if he gets behind. I have had surgery for strabismus, or double vision, but recently I've had trouble focusing again. Did not have time to schedule more surgery, since I am in the process of moving to another state. Dr. Kowalski told me he can get lenses ground to fix my vision and the alignment of my eyes!! I had not heard this before. Then his assistant Carolina took lots of time helping me choose frames and finding out whether I would save more $$ by using my insurance or their sale. I am so grateful for their friendly, patient and considerate treatment. And if these lenses really help as much as Dr. K. believes they will, I will think these people are actually angels in disguise. read more
