This eye doctor is extremely rude and reuses his contact solution for patients. He scolded me for using it and complained about needing a new bottle. His attitude is horrible and I wish I spoke up and defended myself when he kept badgering me. Horrible man but the ladies are extremely kind. read more

This is our third year using Dr. Hassan and the team at Walmart Vision Center Glen Ellyn. Every time I've gone, it has been an excellent experience. Dr. Hassan is friendly and knowledgeable, and great with my kids. The staff members who have helped us with glasses and contacts have given excellent customer service from start to finish, making sure to help us apply our insurance benefits in a way that minimizes our out-of-pocket cost, which is greatly appreciated when there are four of us going for glasses and contacts. read more

This business was previously reviewed by someone else in another major rating webpage system under just the Wal-mart store. The rater gave it a low rating for the docs giving them contacts that hurt their eyes. Guess what? I got them, too! They took away contacts I've been wearing comfortably for years, and highly recommended these. Then, when I told them they hurt, they said over 30% of patients actually can't tolerate them, and said I should get different ones. Getting a commission from this company maybe, that you try these contacts on everyone? First time I came in, I saw a lady doctor. The next time I came, I saw a man doctor. I am still wearing the painful contacts 3 months later. Why? Because for some reason, the good pair of contacts that was supposed to come in never came in. One came in after 4 weeks, my left eye lens. I called them to ask where the contacts were, and they seemed to have no idea. Then they said, after 15 minutes of putting me on hold that the other one never came, so it should be there in 5 days. Two weeks later, I still had not heard, so I called again. They put me on hold for 25 minutes on and off trying to get where the lenses could be. Surprise! They were in, but nobody called! And they ordered all the lenses instead of the trials. Then they quickly told me that they were trials and I should come in to try them on with the doctor. Except... oh wait! The doctor only comes in every two weeks on Saturdays only. I can't see the man doctor anymore for some reason. Now I can only see the woman. And I won't see her for a week and a half so I have to wear the painful contacts that leave my eyes bloodshot and keep people asking me if I'm smoking pot on the weekends all the time. Oh, and we're not done there. After this appointment, I will have to come in for ANOTHER appointment, again in two weeks. Because gods know I can't let any other doctor see me and tell me my contacts are fine. Then, after that, I can order my non-trial lenses.... unless these other contacts are uncomfortable, in which case I will be in trials for at least another 6 weeks. I've been wearing contacts for 20 years, btw, and I've never seen anything like this. I will NEVER go here again. I usually go to Pearle Express but moved closer to Wal-mart vision and figured I'd try there. Wish I'd never gone to this crazy place. I'll deal with the drive and go back to Pearle. Insanity.... EDIT: Dec 3 - Still waiting on the contacts. My "final appointment" is on Saturday. The doctor and receptionist both agreed that something went horribly wrong and that the other receptionist should have let me see the man doctor. Gah. EDIT #2: I didn't get my actual contacts till February. When I talked to the manager, she was very nice and did attempt to expedite the process, but seemed surprised that the whole thing had even happened. Then, I got this comment on Yelp (you can see it in my sidebar) from a guy who went to Wal-mart vision center, too: Dear Mur D, I just read your review of the Wal-Mart Vision Center in Glen Ellyn and felt that a rock was lifted from my chest! I too, have been wearing contacts for twenty-five years, and thought I'd save some money and go to Wal-Mart's Glen Ellyn vision for my new pair. I also spoke with the same lady doctor on a Saturday who gave me a trial pair that made my eyes red and itchy. Because she only works every other Saturday, I had to wait until two weeks for my follow-up. Two weeks of incredibly itchy and bloodshot eyes. When I came in for my follow-up, she said she "never has heard of that," and gave me a different brand that caused the same thing. Two weeks later, I'm due for my follow-up and want to ditch the contacts and go back to glasses." Apparently, it shouldn't have been a surprise. read more

As many other said in their reviews, Dr. Hassan is excellent. He has seen my kids and I for over a decade. We are lucky to have him. His staff is helpful in directing us through the insurance mess and getting great value for our money. Seeing is important and I trust Dr. Hassan. read more

I gave this review 2 stars for the great service of the optometrists. I've been going to Walmart Vision since they opened and Dr. Kelly was the optometrist, who was excellent. Dr. Hasan is there now, and he did a great job with both of my kids exams. The tech who assisted with the exam was very friendly too. Until recently, I have brought both of my kids for their eye check-ups and glasses. My past visit, I explained that I would be getting my child the exam, 1 pair of glasses but would need a copy of my prescription, which, by the way, I found out they are required by law to give each customer, whether they ask for it or not. Only problem, it wasn't the complete prescription, it only showed the powers for each eye... no measurements. The staff that sell and fit the frames when you pick up seemed a bit shady, I understand that they have to upsell to keep the business going, but no is no. Guess what, I would suggest giving the customer what they want if you want them to return. Sadly, that was my last visit to a Walmart Vision Center. I was advised to go to Pearl Vision a while back because they give the proper prescriptions for their customers, and if customers want to purchase glasses online, that's fine. I didn't go to Pearl because I never expected to have an issue with Walmart and I believe in loyalty. From now on, I am a Pearl Vision customer. (BTW, Pearl will do a PD measurement for $10 if anyone needs it to purchase online glasses) read more

Dr. Hassan is Awesome with a capital A. I recently moved to the area and used a previous Wal-Mart Vision center but Dr. Hassan was extremely informative and thorough. He probably spoke to me more than any of my last 5 doctor visits combined! I came in down to my last pair of contacts that probably stayed in too long but he gave me a complimentary trial pair along with solution and case to hold me over. I waited a short time to see him, but nothing terrible. I'm just in awe of his customer service and beside manners. The area was clean and the assistants were equally nice. My husband has some difficult visual impairments resulting from strokes, and needs extra inventiveness to improve his function. Dr. Hasan is an incredibly thorough and attentive physician, who listens actively, asks probing and thoughtful questions and provides excellent care. I am a critical consumer of medicine. I trust them with my eye care and with my husband's. There is no greater statement I can make. The technicians are so-so, but the Optometrist is great! read more

I went there yesterday hesitant about going back to a Walmart Vision Center, because I used to go to Rolling Meadows when I lived in Schaumburg, and they were not good at all. I was instantly welcomed by one of the ladies working in the front, and I believe her name was Lisa--if I remember correctly. So, let's call her Lisa, because that's probably her name. She took my right back and began the normal tests you do right away (Eye Puffer & the machine that focuses on the pupil). She's a hilarious woman right from the start and made me feel right at home. Dr. Toseef Hasan is also flat out awesome. The Rolling Meadow Doctors never offered me additional services like the X-Ray for the back of my eye, nor pupil dilation to check for hidden conditions/diseases/tumors. I had so many questions, and he had so many answers. He told me I had a condition called Corneal Neovascularization, and then continued to tell me all about how to reverse it, gave me a better brand of contacts to wear, and gave me very specific and effective directions to lessen my irritation in my eyes. He didn't have to be so detailed, but chose to be detailed. I think he's that passionate about his job and helping others. After a few months of not knowing if my eyes were just having a phase, or I really couldn't wear contacts anymore, he really helped. My eyes already feel 90% better in just one night. Even after the visit was over and it was time to pay, I was very surprised that even with additional fees from the X-Ray I had done, it was only $103.00 without using my insurance. All of that for a low cost made me feel very relieved. Then, Lisa just kept everyone giggling and having fun, which is not how most doctor appointments end. If you can't afford much, but want an amazing experience getting your eyes looked at, go to this Vision Center. Dr. Toseef definitely changed my opinion about a Walmart Vision Centers. Everything was just so simple, clean cut details, and a highly professional staff that actually have personalities. read more

I have been using the Glen Ellyn Walmart for eye exams and purchasing contacts for at least 7 years. I have always been happy with them. I take my kids here and have never had a problem. When vacationing in Maui, I forgot my contact lenses at home and they got washed out of my eyes from a wave!! I was able to contact the nearest Walmart and got a free pair!! I would use them again! In fact I am making my appointment now. read more

This store is horrible for service...especially their pharmacy....they have sooooo many mistakes and they do not care if you run out of med as long as they follow what the computer says about meds....customer svc is just non-existence.....don't shop here for food either it is not much better read more

Can't say enough good things about this place. First, Dr. Hasan is the best! He is patient, explains everything, actually listens to your questions, and makes thoughtful recommendations but doesn't push anything. As for the rest of the staff, I have never had a single bad experience. I was just there tonight to get some signatures on an insurance form I forgot to bring to an earlier appointment. The young man who helped me went out of his way to make sure I had everything I needed including a copy of my form to keep when I send the original to my insurance company. I tell everyone I know to go here for eye care! read more

There are a few amazing employees in this Walmart Vision Ctr. Sadly however with as many as Senior Cit. that shop for glasses here, they do not accept AAA or AARP. Both these plans offer a 30% discount except Walmart won't accept this coverage. Sadder yet... this is the coverage I have. The manager Tamanna will not budge and even offer a compromise of 20%. I'm sorry. I was here two days in a row and they were understaffed. Normally, I wouldn't mind. I'm patient. But they also seem to take clients in the order of who jumps up first when they're done with the last one. It doesn't seem right if you're the type that patiently waits your turn. I took my son here to get an eye exam prior to entrance to kindergarten. We had a bad experience and will not be returning. I do not recommend this place for young children, especially children who are anxious or afraid in any way. Unfortunately, our experience left my son in tears and I was disappointed at how everything was handled as well. read more
