Such a great experience taking this course with my instructors Wyatt and Lorenzo! The online course was a breeze for me and lots of common sense questions which was easy for me. We all started on time and during this two day course we went through everything about motorcycle safety to gear selection to how to maneuver our bikes. They have different bikes for different sized people and they are all comfortable. Pay very close attention to the instructors and take your time learning as you grow within the two days. It was a hot day during those two days so I wore a air conditioned vest over my gear. Out of 12 of us only one person failed because he dropped the bike at the very end of the driving test and that's because he was nervous and panicked. Great overall customer support when I needed it as well to get my certificate of completion mailed to me by priority mail I paid the extra $20 and got it in the next business day! Highly suggest this class for beginners or novice riders to take this course you will learn more about safety and even get a discount from your insurance for showing your completion. Took a safety training course about 2 years ago. Surely enough, by one of my first few rides around SF and Daly City, I was about to get into a major accident with a driver in a car blasting music while on his phone. Thanks to this course and great instructors teaching me, I was able to make a quick maneuver while the car in the other lane was about to hit me in my lane. If I could give 1000 stars I would! This is going to be long but worth the read. I'll start by saying I had the honor of taking this class two and a half times. My first try was about 6 or so months ago and I was so tense the whole first day by the second day I was so sore I wasn't riding safely. Evie pulled me to the side and asked what was going on because I was riding differently. We both decided it was safer for me to call it a day and try the course again another time. She reassured me that I was doing good but it was obvious I was in pain and to come back and do the course again so I left that day feeling pretty defeated. Stephanie from their office then calls me and has me sign up for another class. Due to life kicking my ass I missed the amount of time before my e rider expired and Stephanie worked with me and my crazy schedule and procrastination and got me signed up for my second class. Two weekends ago was my first full course I took evie and Erin reassured me the whole class I was doing good they said I was taking feedback and applying it and when it came to the evaluation I panicked and got too many points. When Erin told me I didn't pass I immediately started crying because I was feeling confident all weekend until my test anxiety got the best of me. I told Erin I probably wasn't coming back for a while that it was all just bad timing and I was really discouraged. She told me that I did great all weekend and it would be sad for me to give up now but that she understood and just kept telling me how good I was. I went home and was so bummed I really was planning on giving up but then the next day Stephanie calls me and in the best way possible wasn't taking no for an answer and told me that she spoke with evie who said I had it I just needed to not get in my head about the test and after a 10 minute phone call of Stephanie just encouraging me to not give up I signed up for the next class and I passed. Evie, Erin, Dillon and Stephanie are seriously the best at what they do and I will recommend this course and those people to everyone I know and don't know. Seriously such a cool and knowledgeable bunch of people and I learned things each time taking the course. Hi everyone, I just finished the course and i have to say that if you are planning to ride a Motorcycle this is a MUST DO. (Even if you already have a M1 Licence) At the beginning I was a little sceptical about this program but at the end I totally agree that is the best investment I ever did on myself cause it may save my life on my future Motorcycle Journeys. I can highly recommend this course! Getting back into riding after a long break. Would have been easy to do the simple DMV riding test, but thought it may be wise to get some training. And I am happy I signed up for this course. Designed for people who have never been on a bike or those who are riding. All got up to speed and came away with confidence and skills to begin to ride safely and take to the roads. Our instructors, Andrew, Prayma and Erin were great. They coached us through many different situations and worked our skills up each run to where we were performing to their standards and our level of satisfaction. Three words: Totally worth it. My best friend got me into motorcycles and she pushed taking the MSF class just to see if I'd still be interested in getting one. Not only does the MSF class teach you the basics, they go into deep detail of what motorcycling is about and how to properly maneuver and ride. The guys were very professional and personable and knew heaps about all types of motorcycles, especially since they've been riding for many years. Take the course. Learn from the course. Finishing up the CMSP training to get my full motorcycle license. I learned a lot and recommend it. In addition to lowering your insurance rates, you dont have to take the driving exam part at DMV, which is designed to have you fail and take this class. If you do take the DMV exam, use a bike that is under 500cc. Some interesting facts they presented in the class was: two years ago 50% of motorcycle fatalities were due to alcohol. Last year it was 29%. Most accidents with motorcycles are due to drivers that cant negotiate curves. 50% of motorcycle drivers don't have licenses. Cutting of lanes in California only became legal last year and is only supposed to happen if traffic is moving less than 30 mph.... Good info! I did this class in three days in Livermore. read more

This location has 500cc Harley Davidson Street motorcycles. The South SF and Salinas locations probably have lighter motorcycles(I could be wrong though). I just completed the Beginner L1 two-day course this past weekend. I already have my M1 via a scooter, and wanted to learn how to ride having to shift gears, etc. This is an excellent course and everyone, regardless of skill level and experience, can benefit from the drills and tips from the instructors. We had Evie, Erin, and Caruso. All are knowledgable and patient! Though I really appreciated all of the instructors and all were excellent, Evie is an amazing instructor. She has an equal balance of offering encouragement, advice, and not being afraid of letting you know what you're doing wrong, (she knows exactly what to tell you to fix it). Most importantly, she really seems like she enjoys the process of the students improving and watching us grow and get better with riding! Really liked Erin and Caruso, too! Thanks PMT! I recently spent the weekend attending the ARC 1 and ARC 2 (Advanced Riding Clinic) courses at the Livermore site. The range is very nice, located on the Las Positas College campus. It is recently paved, smooth, and in a very nice setting. Great place to practice motorcycling. The site manager provides snacks and water, and the campus has nice bathrooms to use. The instructors, Earl and Ofir, were both experienced and expert in their delivery of the classroom material and range coaching. They were also responsive to questions and discussions during breaks and after class. My only complaint is that there is not enough riding time available in the exercises. Each student only gets a few attempts to demonstrate their understanding and capability of the desired skillset. read more

Awesome... if you pay attention and listen. I started from scratch taking this course, but learned a lot. Just like other reviewers suggested, they teach you all the fundamentals and basics that you need to get started riding SAFELY. This is definitely not a course you'll take and start riding in the streets, you'll need to do more practice in your own time. Speaking of practice, that is one thing I wish I got more of, it seemed we were quickly thrown more information and then told to do it. I would have absolutely loved an opportunity for us to have an hour at the end of each class to touch up on what we're missing. My brother and cousin just took this class last week and if I were to summarize the whole experience in one word it would be perfect. From the start to finish it was excellent. Chris was our instructor for the class sessions and we really really learnt many new and valuable safety points. Isaac was our range instructor and he really loves his job which in turn makes the class fun and you actually learn something. Where do I start with Pacific Motorcycle Training? There's just too many positives. Let's start off with first impressions, as I pulled up I noticed everything was already staged and there was someone disinfecting the motorcycles, so huge brownie points there. The instructors Ken, Chris and please forgive me as I cannot remember the other instructor's name, were all phenomenal and patient. They give you solid feedback which makes correcting mistales or making tweaks to your riding a breeze. I was having issues with counter steering as I was not confident enough in myself until Ken pulled me to the side and said "It looks like you're still trying to turn the handlebars, just push the bars forward and don't be afraid to really lean your shoulder in there if you have to. This is why we're here, try again." Advice like that is important to me because I am my own worst critic, I'm pretty quick to beat myself up over mistakes and the fact that he never said, "you're doing it wrong" and just kept the info short and concise relieved a lot of stress. Chris was extremely attentive to every little thing a rider was doing which is awesome, and allowed for extremely specific tips to really paint a picture of what you should be doing and how to improve. Livermore Harley Davidson are partnered with this course so you are riding on 2019 Harleys, not some jury rigged monster with a terrible clutch that's held together by zipties and JB Weld. These things are smooth, easy to handle and pretty dang fun even for a guy my size 6'5". You can also tour the Harley Davidson facility and they have a machine kinda like a dyno from the sound of it, that they can roll out one of their bikes onto and you can test out all of the basic functions and get an idea of the acceleration behind that bike. INSTRUCTIONS ARE EXTREMELY CLEAR which is of the utmost importance. I watched a youtube video of them explaining one of the excercises and thought "I can tell I'm gonna mess that up, I can't remember all the maneuvers he just said." But being on the range, face to face, it's very easy to retain the info you've gotten. At the risk of this going on ad infinitum, let me just tell you that if you are in the mood to overcome a fear like me (I had a fantastic time out there) looking to get into riding, been riding but need a license etc. This is THE spot to go to. They offer intermediate or premier courses up to advanced courses where you can learn about setting your shocks, tires, and a lot more of the technical information you want to learn about. 10/5 stars. read more

Friendly and professional instructors, and efficient course. Gear is provided if you need it (helmets, gloves and shoes), there is also water during the breaks. Safety training courses are done on modified entry level Harleys (Street 500), which are unexciting but well maintained and should not give most riders too much trouble. If you need the M1 endorsement, Pacific Motorcycle Training will delay sending your paperwork for 10 business days to three weeks (that's what they told me on the phone) unless you pay 55 USD for expedited handling and shipping, which is not nice. However, the margin on the safety classes is probably not very high. read more

I took this course because I've always wondered about riding a motorcycle, and also wanted to better understand the riders I am sharing the road with. My class instructor was Tim, and my range instructors were Sheila and Chris on the first day, and Sheila and George on the second day. The first day in the class we were given handbooks, and followed along with our instructor, who gave us more details, personal advice, and showed informative slides. My riding sessions were in the morning. The first range day was a bit scary for me because I have never ridden a motorcycle before, and even after sitting on it for the first time I thought that this was not for me. But, the instructors are extremely good, and it finally felt like the end of the day came too soon. The course is very well designed, and it is clear that a lot of thought and effort went into developing it into what it is today. Tim: Tim speaks clearly and constantly engages the class in a friendly manner, making sure that the retention is maximized. He knows the material extremely well, and could probably recite the entire handbook in his sleep. He does his best to ensure that everyone passes the final exam, constantly repeating the the most important points. He also has a great personality, is funny, kind, tolerant, understanding. First he seemed a little too young, and I was waiting for someone more senior, but in the end I was very glad that no else came. Great guy! Chris: His calm demeanor is infectious, and makes you feel more comfortable with the entire experience. Chris was very kind, attentive, patient and helpful. He made lemonade at home for us. It was excellent, and much appreciated in the hot summer day. I'm very glad I got to meet him. Sheila: Sheila is truly special. She is extremely attentive to all students, and I bet everyone, just like me, felt like they had a personalized experience with her. Her passion and commitment to teaching, and her ability to bring out the best in her students through kind encouragement and compassionate advice, is nothing short of phenomenal. She is friendly, casual and funny, while dead serious about making you the best rider you can be. I don't know for how long she has been doing this, but to me it seemed like her kind of ability to train people so effectively is impossible to develop without a lot of experience and intelligence. George: George replaced Chris on the last range day. He is has an awesome personality, and has a great sense of humor, but also is a great instructor full of useful input. Ask him about how to get rid of the butterflies in your stomach before the final exam! For me this was a great experience, and I got out of it more than I expected! read more

I had an awesome experience last weekend at the livermore las positas campus. I've had some experience on dirt prior to this but basically have never ridden a motorcycle before. In class they teach you fundamental skills required to ride a motorcycle safely. Which I highly needed considering I just traded my 67 mustang for a 06 zx10r(aka rocket ship). It was a very fun but challenging course which took me to the next level of motorcycling. But what really impressed me is the people in my class who had never even ridden a bicycle before this class. By the end of the class the super beginner riders were skilled and confident to continue their passion about motorcycling. Chris and Kyle are excellent instructors. I've been riding for ten plus years, and learned a few things that I was made aware of in the class. First, turn your head, look at where you want to go, not at what you're going to hit. Lots of practice on counter-steering. There was a lot of time on the bikes. These were old Honda shadows. I have 7 years experience riding sport bikes and I can honestly say I learned many things and I feel I'm a better rider from this course. I am not new to riding I know my way around a bike I just needed a little bit more knowledge of how to ride in much more serious conditions than on a track in these guys went above and beyond that they were able to help me remember what I need to do in case of certain scenarios. I highly recommend going to them whether you're an experienced rider or inexperienced Rider they told me that they are starting an experienced class shortly. I highly recommend PMT and the class and training in general. No one should ever go out first time without going through this class and I intend to go to this or the intermediate class as a refresher / upgrade in two years. The instructors are really great at teaching and coaching and know the subject matter and riding extremely well. It's not a slouch course and you'll be engaged throughout but if you participate you will come away with the base skills to be safe and grow from as well as be well prepped to complete the last written test requirement for your M1 endorsement. On the course the instructors coaching ability shown through by constants constructive feedback and making you feel that you could do it even if you completely botched an exercise (and there was plenty of time for repetition to get better).
