Leon & Lulu have a wide variety of home decor items. I literally spent over 30 minutes just browsing. There were entire sets of furniture with whimsical pillows and books. It is a fun place to visit. They have staff that are on roller skates to serve beverages. We found unique gift giving ideas and the staff was welcoming. I've been shopping at Leon & Lulu since it opened and I find something new every time I walk in there. When I bought a new midcentury home nearby, the staff helped me find furniture and art pieces that I would never have thought to put together but look amazing in my house. The staff is always friendly and bring you coffee and cookies as you shop. My three boys love coming too because there's always popcorn and an old Nintendo system for them to play. The events are great too! I can't say enough good things about it. This really is the type of store you just have to experience to believe. read more

After reading such great reviews, I wanted to check this place out and see what I could find for gifts and home decor. What a great shop! Nevermind that everything is ridiculously expensive. It's a fun place! I was completely overwhelmed when I walked in. There is way too much to look at. It's probably a good thing my husband wasn't with me because he would've fallen asleep on one of many of their awesome couches. It seems like everything you see, even if it's a display rack, is for sale. I asked if they had any coat racks, and both that were for sale had a ton of merchandise hanging on it. Kinda weird, and very expensive, of course! I loved their little cafe. I'm not sure what they had going on, but there was popcorn, maybe some cookies and warm beverages. I think it's safe to say I really liked, if not loved everything I saw in this store. Lots of fun, unique and stylish merchandise as well as a huge variety. I managed to walk out with a few items and kept my total just under $100. I was told they get new stuff in almost every week. I will definitely be back! read more

This little shop is really cool. They have a lot of great furniture (higher end/pricier) and so many fun little knick knacks. As I am furnishing my house and buying gifts, I will definitely be back. I can't wait to shop here once I have a little better funding. It's in a fun location, inside an old roller rink. Since I'm so far from the area - I was very excited to attend an event hosted by Yelp. There was so much cool and unique throughout the store but please note they are a little pricey for my taste. My very favorite home decor store. Love the building which was once a roller skating rink. There is so much to look at and is always changing. Furniture is quality and a perfect place to find the perfect unique gifts. The staff are all so kind and very helpful. Next door is an extension which has a cafe. I love the selection and uniqueness here. I've spoken to one of the owners once and it was cute to hear that the store was named after her dogs. The owners also go out all over the world themselves to find the majority of the pieces they sell. I can't believe people expect a store like this to not be pricey. It's so one of a kind-y. WOW. Very unique location. Stopped in for the first time tonight to attend a Yelp fundraising event. Used to be a roller rink back in the day. Still has the original floor with all the lines on it. Lots of cool furniture and knick knacky stuff. I do think they are too pricey for me but the selection of goods is very unique and my daughter would love to decorate her whole home from here. Lots of glassware for the home and bar. All sorts of decorations for every time of year. Just wish it was closer to Plymouth so we could stroll through more often. Such a fun store. I could mill around in Leon & Lulu for hours. It's one of those places, that if you walk through to fast, you will miss things! Great little gift things! They have all sorts of wonderful goods, from furniture, to home decor in all sorts of styles from found to modern/contemporary, to jewelry, candles, books... This store used to be Ambassador Roller Rink and they still have the Roller Rink wood floor, old rental skates adorning the walls and helpful little store workers rolling around asking if you need water or coffee. All of these things gives the store a really unique touch. I swear I could wander around this store for hours. Plus, it's my go to place for really unique and fun gifts. read more

Some seriously unique offerings here. Their furniture is very exciting - great reclaimed wood, lovely linen, whimsical lamps. All quite costly, but unique and still tasteful, not kitschy. The owner supposedly makes overseas trips to bolster the collection. They have a whole lido gallery framing station at the back - how convenient! They'll offer you complementary coffee or water at the back of the store, which is a nice touch. The last time I went was the closest I've been to making a large (furniture) purchase. Oddly the salesperson helping us out with our sofa was the only detractor - she somehow took away from the excitement of it all by showing us multiple uninteresting catalogs a la art van so that we actually lost interest. This store has cool things - I'm sure you can find a salesperson more your style if you're seriously buying stuff here. read more

I highly recommend checking out this store when in the area!! Fun to just look around and explore even if your just bored. The stores items range from cool furniture, to fun Knick knacks that will make you say, "omg I always wanted something like that!" To some cool Detroit memorabilia! I mean I think we spent many hours in this store when we went, granted it was also an Yelp event! But I'm so happy Yelp brought us to check this place out when happens to be an old skate arena. They do still use the old consession stand for snacks and drinks also. Right next door is part two where the owner also bought the old theater and made it a cafe/shop as well! I should note that my Leon and Lulu experience spanned over several months. There was no single visit that defined my 5 star rating, but a relationship that was built over time. Leon and Lulu was recommended to me in a Yelp Talk thread when I was asking about local small businesses that sold couches. My husband and I were in the market for one, hoping to get something that fit our midcentury modern style, reasonably priced, made in the USA and eco-friendly if possible. Much to our delight, we were able to satisfy all of these hopes. Leon and Lulu can best be described as Crate and Barrel meets Pier One meets those fabulous little lakeside gift shops that are always so quirky and charming. I think my first visit I circled the floor a full three times before leaving - making sure I saw everything they had to offer. Clothing, gifts, house goods that bring a smile... But my experience I mostly focused on the furniture. The furniture is varied: rustic tables to quaint chairs to fabulous modern couches. The staff were kind, checking in on me, telling me to flop on the couches as if I were home. Because, really, when shopping for a couch it should feel like you're home. Unlike other local furniture vendors I have reviewed, they were unfazed by my window shopping, snapping photos of the different couches I liked and wanted to share with my husband. I learned about the brands they carried and the fabric options, which they gladly allow people to check out and return. A generous offer they make with many of the items in the store. They want it to be right for you. A delightful gesture made by a small business that wants you to buy from them and to be content. Not so common now-a-days, so it is very appreciated by me. The staff talked to me about color options, firmness... assuring me that it did not matter who I spoke with. There were no commissions. Just very happy employees. Many interior designers. The couch we settled on was an offering from Rowe furniture which actually was a floor model. Made in Virginia with some green materials, we were thrilled. Leon and Lulu offered us layaway at no additional cost and storage until the couch was paid. We also did the fabric guard treatment which also came with a generous repair warranty. Over the next few months, I'd call and make a payment. I'd even attended one of their special design nights where we got tips from an interior designer. I also learned they frequently have fundraisers for nonprofits. Many, many throughout the year. The more I learned about them, the more I knew I had made a wise decision of where to spend our money. When the couch was paid, they delivered it with a small gift: two L&L coffee cups. Every employee was kind and I cannot say a single negative thing about the experience. I even ended up using one of their wall displays as inspiration for the color pallet for my kitchen. (The area with the fabric swatches is a lovely green, with the tan and orange of the roller skates hung up on the wall there. I had tan and orange in my kitchen, left from the previous owner, and the green seemed like a fun choice for the walls. It looks great, IMO.) I will be back at Leon and Lulu for my next chair purchase as well as holiday shopping. I'm very thankful for the kindness and professionalism they showed us and hope you will give them a chance as well. read more

This is just a really neat spot. Housed in an old roller rink, this place has decent square footage, a randomly cool selection of gift type items, and awesome (though too $$ for me) furniture. You could easily spend an hour at this store. That is mad even easier when you're offered a beverage or snack while you're browsing. Ordered a custom sofa set from Leon and Lulu. Great service, great product, and infinite ways to customize the furniture. Everyone here was very helpful and knowledgeable. They don't work on commission and push you to purchase anything, instead they truly care about the final product and a happy customer. My favorite store in the Detroit area! Can spend hours admiring their interesting furniture, lovely displays, fun books and awesome gift ideas. I hate to shop for clothes but I always find some unique dress, coat, etc. that always bring me complements. Awesome store with weird books that cracked me up, I wanted to buy them all! Unfortunately like 95 percent of everything in the place is about 3x overpriced. Not only does Leon & Lulu's have competitively priced, stylish furniture (I was in the market for a new couch and they beat Gorman's prices by a couple hundred bucks), but it's so well placed in vignettes that you're inspired for weeks! After I got over my near-crying-in-public episode when I realized that this store was the roller rink of my childhood, I have to say this place is the greatest. It's expensive (no way around saying that when you see $62 candles), but every item in the store adds character to your house. This is my favorite place in Michigan now. I can not get over how fun this store is as well as how cool there art , furniture, and collectables are. There is something for everyone and i love how they had those fun trinkets for the kids. When i walked into the doors i was greeted by a boy on rollerskates offering free coffee, fresh baked cookies, and popcorn for the kids! there was also an adorable dog walking around.
